I think there is a huge point missing here. That point is why people even CARE about it at all. We all sorta/kinda have a degree of observational knowledge about “supporting the current thing” phenomenon. It’s ALL completely SOCIALLY ENGINEERED. And I believe it’s socially engineered by global/deep state/intelligence crap out there.
Been thinking a bit on how the US communist revolution is going and their intended vector and this goes way back to Bush. Moving the economy to “service” means a LOT of changes in the jobs people train for. LOTS of people going to school ending up getting indoctrinated. We laugh about the “useless degrees” but that’s just how they brought in more subjects for their social experiments.
I hope more and more people start to understand the mass hysteria psychosis thing has been going on for a long time but at a lower power and scale until recently. People need to ask “why do I care?” more often. Now I find myself not caring abour Israel or Palestine or any of it. Waste of money ALL of them.
Human beings are essentially social animals. Our need to belong, or fit into the larger community, has been grossly exploited since biblical times.
Here, our duality is best expressed as a ‘political’ divide. But the underlying issue runs deeper. It is the existential battle between good vs evil.
Everything else is a distraction. Once we make right our spirit, our differences are quite naturally resolved.

Saw something similar criticizing laptops etc, but omitting the amount and the etching of textbooks.
My problem with this is that other bad things happened.
Teachers became socialist indoctrinators and don’t teach.
Textbooks were written for socialist indoctrination.
Then COVID happened and we forced kids to stay home, ruining every bodies education.
Other than COVID proving that laptops and stay at home lessons won’t work for most kids, I don’t think it right for every interest group to blame one thing in support of a cause.
Many things combined to create this education nightmare.
And this group could still argue that COVID proved laptops don’t help education. (The careful guidance of a good home school could turn a laptop into an educational asset. Artifical Idiot Propaganda may undermine even that.)
It’s MUCH easier to “burn books” when they are digitally maintained. The act of burning books is to get rid of recorded history and to create new truth. That said, electronic books and information is fraught with distractions. My son was assigned his Chromebook and he was in “special classes” and even *HE* was able to use the Chromebooks for playing games. (I shouldn’t really say it like that. He’s actually quite clever when he wants to be and in certain ways… it’s complicated)

And a footnote: The librarian that helped me find it searched diligently the first day I wanted it. All their movies, especially older are jumbled together.

I have a feeling that laptops and tablets are less a problem than the priority to indoctrinate rather than teach the basics.
Hand written notes interact with the brain much more so than typing.
I have observed a really fast typist transcibe written notes and they can’t recall any of the material.
Raising and almost 15yr young grandchild and I have seen this up close and personally.
In high school typing class I typed 91 WPM (words per minute) with 3 mistakes.
I had absolutely no clue what I was typing, because all I did was copy characters found elsewhere as fast as I could.
Hand written notes are so lovely, and speaking in person, eye to eye, is the best ever.
So simple and so profoundly true.
Penmanship counts for a lot more than just neatness.
Epoch Times recently had an article about how the brain interacts differently with digital than with paper. Paper is preferred for brain health, I believe.

I have teenagers and what is not being spoken about at all is how many students today struggle to read and many who have been passed right along and wind up graduating with sometimes no ability at all to read.
And then there is math, another thing they can’t do.
A large part of the problem aside from the failure to teach in ways that actually work, the next huge problem is that many students simply struggle to read on screens..
This issue is totally ignored like it doesn’t matter and will be just magically solved by ignoring it all.
They are so hellbent on forcing us to exist in ways that work for them- what actually works for us as the humans that we are, this matters less and less.
We should be out there in the streets ourselves fighting the fact that our entire existence has been turned into one failed social experiment after the next.
And then they wonder why the birth rates are declining.

Is the above meant to be satirical? I can be very sarcastic and I understand sarcasm, but this attack on logging and mixing it with pot farming is ‘out there’.
Maybe there is/was someone who did the above, but you do a great disservice to people in the city who do not understand renewable resources and the supply that is required to meet the demand.
My family has over 350 acres of mixed forest property. It has been logged three times since I was born! I am 63 and if you walked our property with me, you would be hard pressed to even know the property was logged three times or logged at all in areas that haven’t been cut for over 30 years.
Even the land most recently logged five years ago looks parklike with towering White Pines and Norway Pines with young growth sprouting up. There are 12-15 foot tall Poplar (Aspen) growing in areas where Poplar were cut down; they regenerate from their root system with 100s of young Poplar (called suckers) springing up in the first year from each tree cut.
The last cutting was done to open up the woods (it was too crowded). By selectively cutting White Pine, Norway, all marketable Poplar and Birch, Spruce and Balsam.
This last cutting released the remaining trees (which are still many 100s of trees) to grow more quickly. It also provides small openings for new growth which deer and other wildlife rely on for food.
The logging operation provided needed wood to Forest Product Companies, employed the four equipment operators and the owner of the logging company work for six weeks to cut two separate 15 acre blocks of woodland.
It also provided two truck drivers work for six weeks; that’s seven people making a living for six weeks by selectively cutting only 30 acres!
The equipment operators make a good living, the owner of the company assumes all financial risk, pays for all the fuel, equipment repairs and my family for the trees cut.
It also keeps the supply chain going which provides jobs for many more people at the Forest Product Companies.
As land owners, it provided money to pay the land taxes for years for the entire property. It created a healthier forest and new growth and mixed habitat for wildlife. A fully mature forest does not provide much for wildlife.
We have a Forestry Management Plan written by a Certified Forester who gave guidelines to cut certain areas at certain times and we have a retired Forester who walked the woods and marked specific pines to be cut.
We ended up with a healthier forest, most of the dead Balsam and dead Spruce (a fire hazard) killed by Spruce Bud Worm years before the cut were run over to rot on the ground and replenish nutrients and open the ground to sunshine for new growth.
The forest is much healthier, provides a better mix of habitat for wildlife, and greatly reduced fire hazard of dead standing trees.
Two forest fires occurred this past summer in our area and burned thousands of acres; I didn’t worry because our dead trees were mostly on the ground rotting and our large trees with good spacing and little fuel at ground level were safer.
If loggers were allowed to selectively cut more state, county, and federal forest lands, more jobs would be created, paper products and lumber would be less expensive, new homes would be less expensive, forests would be healthier, and forest fires wouldn’t turn into conflagrations burning tens of thousands of acres or in the case of massive western fires more than hundreds of thousands of acres.
Loggers are very hard working in one of the most dangerous jobs. They keep forests healthier, provide the wood to the Forest Products companies to make lumber for new homes, remodeling of homes, building decks in people’s yards. And paper products like notepads, napkins and TP (the next time you sit on the toilet and reach for the TP think of the loggers, the truck drivers who brought the wood to the paper mill, the people at the mill who turned trees into paper, and the truckers who took it from the paper mills to your local store where you purchased it without a thought to how it got there!
It was a joke, it’s not about you. Relax.

The majority of people living in cities don’t give a thought to how the products on the store shelves get produced by the blue collar workers of America; they just take it for granted the products will always be there.
It was obviously not about me and I didn’t take it that way.
As a responsible land owner and an environmentalist who understands more than 99% of people about maintaining a healthy forest and how logging benefits us all, I thought this was a good opportunity to educate others about how lumber and paper products come from managing forested lands properly.
They will now appreciate the work that goes into putting the products on the shelf and also know enough themselves to educate others if the topic of logging ever comes up.
Now they can knowledgeably discuss the benefits logging has for the forest, the wildlife, and for everyone who uses forest products daily.

During the many prosecutions of Trump allies during the Biden maladministration, Trump had pardoned them, but the pardons only applied to federal crimes, not state charges – allowing prosecutions to go forward on the state level.
So, my question is: What about the converse? If federal pardons cannot wipe out state charges, how can state pardons wipe out federal charges?
As in – the Cambodian already had a standing removal order, based upon state convictions. Even if those state convictions are pardoned by Gov. Newsom, how does that undo a federal order without an additional federal re-adjudication process?
As in – say an error occurs in which you double-pay your health-care premium because you were erroneously issued two separate account numbers (actually happened to me, with Blue Cross). Blue Cross is not, out of the goodness of its heart, going to just automatically refund the overpayment, without one’s going through a process, jumping through hoops, to prove the overpayment and demand a refund.
Isn’t there some way for the Feds to stand by the removal order, on the grounds that a state pardon doesn’t affect an already signed federal removal order? Doesn’t the Newsom pardon only relieve the Cambodian of the state consequences of the state conviction for attempted murder?

On tariffs, the DOJ’s defense when they are sued to pay them back should simply be that the constitution only authorizes Congress to approve spending; how much, when and where.
