Through the years I didn’t really have much of an opinion of Steve Bannon, I approached any story of interest that surrounded him by simply looking at the factual details of the current event in question.
CTH well understood that Bannon, and subsequently his expressed opinion and objective, was simply an outcome of his position – downstream from the billionaire of the moment who paid him.
In essence, Steve Bannon always seemed to be, much like Kellyanne Conway, an advocate for whoever was financing him. From Robert/Rebekah Mercer at Breitbart forward to any endeavor thereafter, it always just appeared the same.
That said, with the release of the Epstein files, the relationship between Steve Bannon and Jeffrey Epstein is something CTH did not expect. {HERE} Bannon and Epstein were very close and talked to each other about seemingly everything.
I can never unsee what I have read. Nor will CTH ever entertain the possibility that Bannon was ever a good element within the MAGA effort. There is a solid argument to be made that the Bannon War Room was funded, or organized in the funding mechanisms, by Jeffrey Epstein. {HERE}
The files of messages between them contain some shocking stuff happening in the background while Steve Bannon was in very close proximity to candidate and President Trump. The level of disdain Bannon had for Donald Trump’s family and for Donald Trump himself is really something CTH did not expect to see. {examples: HERE and HERE}
I am left to wonder now how much of the vitriol against Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, ie. “Javanka hatred”, actually originated from the Braintrust behind Bannon and the assembly of people in his immediate orbit. {HERE}
Initially, I saw some Twitter accounts attempt to defend Steve Bannon by saying Epstein did all the talking in their text exchanges and Bannon was less communicative. However, that only applied to the first batches of files reviewed. As a few days went along and people started citing files, reading them gives a much more fulsome picture of the relationship.
Steve Bannon may have been focused on the financial gains and perhaps networks of people in his association with Epstein; but he certainly got deep into it and expressed extreme praise for Epstein, even going so far as to call him a god. {LINK} These were two men in a very close friendship. There is no political or ideological distance between Bannon and Epstein.
The level of expressed skullduggery that has been going on for years in the background is very unsettling to accept, and I say that as a person who doesn’t customarily get shocked by duplicity.
This is not about division; this is about something more akin to betrayal.
While putting on a MAGA face for the War Room broadcasts, in the background Bannon was actually plotting and advising of ways to eliminate Donald Trump from republican politics. This is Brutus level disloyalty, even accepting the guy has no moral compass other than his bank account. I can never unsee what has been seen.
There’s also some weird stuff in the exchanges about contextual things from years past. As an example, in one set of text messages Bannon and Epstein were discussing Patrick Byrne who is now part of the Emerald Robinson/Mike Flynn network. Bannon notes in 2018 that Byrne told him he was working for the CIA, and apparently Bannon did not believe him. {SOURCE}
This is the same November, 2018, message exchange where Epstein is advising Steve Bannon on how to set up a media network to maximize privacy, structure the financing and eliminate the problems with transparency. This is the origin of what would less than a year later become Bannon’s War Room on Real Voice America.
Did Jeffrey Epstein provide the seed capital to assist the start-up of Bannon’s War Room? That question isn’t clear, but sheesh, the creepy irony of the possibility is really over-the-top.
I guess in the big scheme of things, considering all of the potential creepy stuff that is far more consequential to the Epstein file release, the relationship with Steve Bannon is not at the top of the issues of concern. However, the reality of seeing this relationship and reading how much they both hated MAGA is just so darn deflating.
Trust lost can never be reestablished.
Ugh. All of it. Just, ugh.
Now we reevaluate everyone who openly, frequently and willingly associated themselves with Steve Bannon on that “War Room” platform. Including: Julie Kelly, Mike Davis, Jack Posobiec, Lara Logan, John Solomon, Laura Loomer, Harmeet Dhillon and so many more. Did they know about this Bannon-Epstein network?

I’m more cynical than a lot of people. There few public figures I would want to spend any time with, including Steve Bannon. But let’s judge people by “their fruits”. And not by their motivation or what they seem to think. In the Epstein file, Bannon comes across as having much too high an opinion of himself, was sucking up to a person who did horrible things, and said things “in private” that did not help us. It is the height of hubris to say things in email that you don’t want to see published in the Times or worse. But to answer Sundance’s question, I doubt people like Peter Navarro , Charlie Kirk, Jack Posobiec, etc. knew that Bannon had frequent email conversations with Epstein. And given Bannon’s audience, may not have even cared had they known.

I agree that many in media and comments are accepting “He’s IN the Epstein Files” as a jury conviction for the worst they can imagine about Epstein. I don’t have time or patience to read thousands of Epstein emails, but I chose one search to see how it worked and get a feel for what folks are reporting they found. I searched for “pizza”, got 851 documents in response, and read the first 200. I didn’t find a single email that struck me as evidence of untoward behavior, including some that have been widely cited a “clear evidence Pizzagate was real”. I’m naturally skeptical and professionally trained and experienced at ferreting out the truth. I just didn’t see the evidence, most certainly not evidence that would convict anyone.
Epstein appears to have aggressively networked with anyone with money and a reputation to threaten. He also name-dropped his rich and powerful friends. He often asked said powerful friends to reach out and make connections for him. He was also a prolific donor. It’s not surprising many, many high profile people emailed with him.
There are many reading files for the sole purpose of poking political enemies in the eye. An example is Joe Rogan. Many in media reported “ Joe Rogan is in the Epstein files”. In context, Epstein asked a mutual acquaintance to introduce Epstein to Rogan”. Rogan’s reply was “Are you high?”, which could, for Rogan’s enemies, also have been interpreted as an immoral coded message. I read it as Rogan saying “not just no, but he’ll no!”
We should all read the context of all Epstein documents before we read a 7 word quote in a comment (or worse, someone’s guess at what words in an email meant and write off everyone who emailed with Epstein as a pedophile or enabler. Besides possibly ruining the lives of people who don’t deserve it, all the speculation and public shaming is fueling much of the anger towards the Trump Administration for “not doing anything”.
No evidence was released. Nor will it be until it is released in a court of law. Tough, I know, but that’s how its done. Most of the evidence is on video or in photographs. Those will never be released because they are pornographic or trafficking or snuff pictures.
All the Pizzagate documents were similar to this release – strange emails using food words that were not about food that matched the police list of pedophilic code words. We have Todd Blanche stating that they have evidence of crimes and of deaths.
What we do have with Epstein that was absent with Pizzagate is 7 victims testimony that have gone public. No doubt there are also some victims that have testified but not publicly. I think we can believe most of what the victims say given that people make mistakes
when identifying others and memories are not 100%.
I hope someone other than Bondi or Patel handles the rest of this. Her turn in the hot seat was unbelievably bad for POTUS.

I am a very staunch SD follower/supporter and I also know of Steve, so I’m very conflicted on this issue.

The links from the article show Bannon didn’t like Ivanka and Jared meddling – we knew that; dislike of Chris Christie – we knew that; Bannon’s frustration that his influence when in the White House was undermined – we knew that; Bannon frustration over the lack of progress in building the wall – we knew that; Bannon frustration at the the knives out against Trump and Trump not seeing where they were coming from – we knew that.
There’s nothing in the links that shows Bannon as being a close friend of Epstein. Transactional business? Yes. Planning strategy? No. Giving inside information? No. Nothing Bannon texted to Epstein wasn’t said by Bannon to his audience on War Room.
Who benefits by painting Bannon as Epstein’s close friend, a decepticon, a betrayer of Trump and MAGA? This sounds more like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens than Sundance.

Well said, and unless he’s the best actor/liar in the universe, nothing he has said or done has been detrimental to the MAGA movement, quite the contrary. I have not missed a show since he started and have been privy to, during that time, the
most up to date information out there. Unless and until Steve shows me that he is against Trump/MAGA in any way, I will continue to watch him and his guests to get the best info out there. If Steve is anti Trump/MAGA, he is doing a very poor job of undermining us.
I have literally watched every rally and speech of President Trump since 2015 but initially was considering Cruze and Ben Carson, until Cruze pulled the stunt with stealing electors in Co. and elsewhere. But I do believe Trump was Divinely chosen for this time, and
I believe Bannon and others are helping to repair our Republic in there own way. Steve is a character, for sure but I believe he is on our side, unless he shows me otherwise, and so far, he is one of the biggest if not the biggest fighter/ supporter of MAGA and
President Trump. I could go on, but I’ve said enough I suppose.
What proves you wrong (imo) is what you (and Grok) left out, and no one else in these replies seems to mention, either – that Bannon supports Tucker Carlson and has joined him in bashing Israel, Netanyahu, and “Zionists”. To him anyone who supports Israel is “Israel first”, which means “America last”. He had Carlson on his show and agreed with him.
At TPUSA Ben Shapiro denounced the antisemitism of Tucker, Fuentes and Owens, and accused him and others of being frauds, grifters, and cowards for not standing up against them. Bannon responded by calling Shapiro a “cancer”, and doubled down on his support of Tucker.
Whether or not you like Shapiro, he was right, and Bannon destroyed his own credibility at that point.
The Epstein stuff just adds to it.
So if anyone is conducting a campaign to fracture MAGA, it’s Bannon himself, along with his fellow anti- Israel antisemites Carlson, Owens, Fuentes, etc.

Here’s the question that is foremost in my mind, knowing now that Bannon & Epstein were Buds. Did Bannon refuse to testify to Congress and subsequently go to jail because he knew someone would ask him about his ties to Epstein?
I always assumed he wouldn’t testify in order to protect Trump. That assumption was false, obviously.
Sigh…those people. What of Bannon willing to go to prison for not ratting out Trump then? I would think he could have pulled a Mike Pence. I am starting to evaluate Epstein himself and what his REAL role was. A common man even if charming is not the center for all of these people. He was either Mossad or CIA heavy. I listened to Bannon for a long time, until so many of his guests went into the administration, and even less as he second-guessed the CofC on Iran last summer. I believe there was a lot of good info available from the program.
But now, what about Jim Rickards, and EJ Antoni? Are they too going to smeared with this business? How does War Room survive? I don’t think it does. I think Bannon is the latest scalp.

Very interesting. However, I wouldn’t automatically distrust anyone who has been on Bannon’s show or interacted with him. Many of them may not have known about his association with Epstein.

Don’t trust him/her because they are regular contributors to Warroom. But we seem to without question trust the Epstein files because they offer us what we want to see to confirm our

What if it was Bannon that brought Epstein in? I don’t know, but it seems a lot more likely than Trump and Rubio being enemies, Tulsi a democrat, or Trump letting Bannon continue deceiving MAGA this whole time if he was dirty.
Dunno, but many things are not as they appear.
First, I’ve been saying Tulsi is MAGA since her failed Democrat primary run, possibly longer than that. I am pleasantly surprised by Rubio, who behaves like a recently liberated East German gulag survivor.
Bannon has been an issue for awhile now. It’s more likely he’s the opposite of what you suppose. Not some 5D chess to infiltrate the enemy, but the inverse.
I always adopt the cynical approach, especially with media personalities, and I’m rarely wrong for looking at them side eye.
