Right on! When I came to Canada from England almost 30 years ago I worked with Liberal elites in Canada (mostly Ottawa, T.O. and Vancouver) and Coastal elites in the US, often at board-level, in big FIs and big consumer sector companies. I was amazed at how most of the these Canadians looked down on or even despised Americans. And neither group worked or socialized with the lower classes. Not what I expected. 🤔
12 years later I switched industries and for the last 16 years I’ve been working with owners and management of mid-sized manufacturing and service companies, across Canada and in flyover America. These seem to me to be the real Canadians and Americans that I expected to find. Solid good-hearted, hard-working and mostly Christian family types. Salt of the earth. They have a lot in common between the two countries and respect each other.
But the last couple of years, TDS has become the overarching obsession of the first group above, and because the MSM here is entirely bought and paid for by the Liberals, people outside Canada tend think we’re all of the same mind. 🙁
I emigrated from Scotland over forty years ago.
In many ways we have shared similar experiences.

Particularly among my demographic, the over 65 CBC, CNN watching zombies.

I was totally stunned that our wealthy boomers used their TDS to justify electing Carnage (or was it rigged via the ~7.5 million early votes, up almost 50% from the previous election after a massive MSM campaign to vote early?) in the hope of preserving their home equity while selling out their children’s and grand children’s futures. Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough. They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it. You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.
The purpose and goals of President Trump are plainly visible by his actions and consistent: He is for the benefit first of the common PEOPLE of this country, then of the PEOPLE in the rest of the world. It is validating, even to our battered conservative skepticism.
The methods of his leadership are amazing. I still don’t get HOW he does it, or HOW he is able to get so much momentum going, but every day the momentum is growing. Everyone and every organization has their eyes opened every day — just by watching him. Even those who hate him, are biased against him, and want to see him gone — cannot ignore him. He lives rent free in their head, and they come around to seeing the universal principles by which he is operating. He hammers actions based on truth from one direction, then another, and they cannot mount an organized opposition against him.
President Trump is transparent in his words and actions. He is consistent in what he says, what he does, and what he asks/demands of others. His promises are bold and he keeps them like no other president has. He is making massive, nearly overnight changes, not only in our country, but in the world. It is amazing that he is able to accomplish so much when there are so many snakes in the grass. This term, he is weeding them out faster. No U.S. president has ever faced so much organized resistance and treason than President Trump
He has chosen to use his intellect and every skill he has to do what is right. He has tremendous faith that he can make a difference in this world. He has a confidence and courage such that he doesn’t care what others think, yet a humility to know he has to do it with the help of like minded people. Those people are the “common” people, and he ridicules those who think they are not common.
He believes people are basically good. He believes that God is real. He believes that healthy people are happy people, and they need to be able to create wealth freely for their labor, and have the freedom to spend their money on what is good for them.
He believes the United States, with its Constitutional Republic, is the best environment in the world to enable and give opportunity for people to be happy and prosperous.
He believes that we can be a light for the world, but we must demand that the rest of the world respect us and our right to life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness.
He believes the enemy of our country are the stupid, greedy American people who have been selfishly taking advantage of this country; who betrayed the trust and obedience of its people; and who diverted the people’s wealth for their own selfish gain, at the expense of the principles of this country. He’s not going to allow that anymore.
He has cultivated and focused the family of MAGA. Identifying those people whose goodness, industriousness, trust, and obedience have been taken advantage of and abused. He has opened our eyes to this abuse, and the rights of freedom and self determination that have been quietly stolen from us.
He has rekindled the healthy distrust of government and men with too much power held by our founders. He has recultivated the desire to reclaim our freedoms and rights, and is empowering us with a hope and pathway to reclaim our spiritual and economic freedom.

He is convincing those who are very wealthy (most of whom truly earned their money), that the best economic soil in which to build wealth is in a constitutional republic, which supports the ability of the common man to earn wealth in proportion to his efforts. The economic engine of the United States is the human spirit freed to enjoy the fruits of honest labor, and that engine has more natural and raw horsepower than any other governed economy.
The Trump Train seems to be remarkably aligned with universal principles of Truth, which reflect the will and design of our Creator, and are the best standard by which we should live. These same principles were what our country’s founders used to declare independence, and framed into the Constitution of this nation.
Our founders believed that a nation should preserve the right and freedom of an individual to seek, understand, and live by God’s principles. They believed that free individuals working together in humility would make a stronger nation than a government which dictates its will on the people. President Trump professes and seeks to lead and restore this nation back to these same principles.
These principles resonate deeply within all human beings, down to our DNA in every cell, in our spirits, and produce fruit that “miraculously” multiplies. I’ve said that for years for all people on welfare. There are laws in place already for some of this, but they are never enforced nor is their much real oversight on welfare services as evidenced by the massive fraud we are seeing uncovered.
Oversight, regular yearly audits, strict enforcement of laws, etc has all been lacking and the main reason is the country is huge and managing these kinds of massive programs is really difficult. Maybe some of those thousands of IRS agents could be shifted into oversight departments. Maybe states need to be forced into taking more oversight into programs they receive federal dollars for or face financial penalties.

However, Repubs had a total of 21,747 fewer votes in the runoff than they did in the Nov election (between the two Repub candidates).
This district is a still a strong red district. Seat will likely flip back red this Fall.

Allen Eckert became an Ohioan, after attending the University of Dayton and Ohio State University: he lived in the hilly, west central Ohio town of Bellefontaine (pronounced Bell Fountain).
His books used to be fairly famous: his book on the 1913 Flood in Dayton and how the residents rebuilt the city and controlled the Great Miami River and its 4 tributaries (they all meet in Dayton) to prevent such a disaster in the future.
Their efforts have been successful: a network of marvelous bikeways now follow the Great Miami and its tributaries and other features.

… “Because of potential conflicts in D.C., the complaint was referred to Chief Judge Jeffrey Sutton of the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. In a Dec. 19, 2025, order that became public this week, Sutton tossed it out, saying that if Boasberg had made those exact statements, they wouldn’t have violated ethics rules.

Judicial Conference meetings are for open discussions of court operations, not trials or specific cases, where expressing concerns about potential administrative defiance, even naming a president, didn’t count as misconduct in that setting. I don’t know why we continue to allow the non elected portions of our government to be self-policing. It’s clear to me that the founders wanted government to be responsible to the citizens, which is why the judiciary was given so little authority in the constitution (other than the Supreme Court itself ). They were not intended to have national injunction powers to force actions at a whim; that’s what the deliberating legislature was for.

Drove through Duluth, Minnesota the other day.
A water main under a busy road broke due to the cold. When that happens it makes for really scary driving.
The entire 4 lane road was a skating rink with inches of ice built up, and no one even put a sign-up warning drivers what they were heading into.
If your lines are inside keep a slow drip going (hence the drips others mention — and your user name).

I could care less about the First Lady’s new film or how she spends her time. The whole concept of a film about her and narrated by her seems amazingly self-serving.
Yes, to stay warm during the Jan. bitter cold, is no doubt expensive – and is a very tough choice with limited resource.
The January heating bills are forthcoming, for many… ouch, to say the least.
Hopefully the weather will improve, warm up, over time…

I am with you 100%. While she is a gracious and stylish FLOTUS…she, like her husband, are filthy rich and starting to look, more and more, ‘out of touch’….
The problem is most traditional ways — magazines, interviews, news programs — of communicating with people on a ” human” level are closed to her.
I’m angry about all the magazine articles with photos that we didn’t get to enjoy. But for Melanie the problem is deeper. They try to define her. And not in a good way. She’s hitting back by defining herself. I say more power to her.
A second point is that Melanie is and for most of her life has been involved in the glamor business (and she has the money to do it right). Like it or not, that’s who she is. So she is justified in presenting herself accordingly.
She is communicating with people but also creating a legacy.
I’m retired and am still shocked at what the three obummer terms created. But for me it’s still fun to have a few minutes to peek into their lives. I admire her for withstanding and even thriving with all the hate directed at her nonstop for years. She is a role model for all of us.
On the other hand I appreciate your comment. I pray daily that this new year brings down the prices of necessary goods and services.

I am reminded of my trip to England in 1985 (a trip I $aved for 2 year$). I went with my British friend who worked with me in TX. We stayed the first few nights at her parents’ humble home outside London. At their ‘tea time’ they showed their video of Diana and Charles’ wedding. They loved them, the pomp, beauty and richness of the event. I enjoyed it and watching them ‘be in attendance’.

I can’t imagine how she’s managed to stay strong in light of all the non-stop attacks. President Trump seems to thrive in the face of confrontation, even when it becomes a street fight. But most of us aren’t like that and she didn’t ask for any of this. Yet she’s managed to keep going in the face of awful hate directly specifically at her.
His grown kids have held their own as well. They all just keep going doing what they want to achieve. I admire them all.
Becasue of the age difference, Melania will eventually need to protect his legacy. I”m sure the kids will help, but to protect “her family” (and specifically Barron’s future) she’ll have to stand strong for the rest of her life. I think most of us wouldn’t do as well as she has under that kind of pressure.

The article details “a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes, one that both curtailed the protests and coordinated the resistance from CEOs. Both surprises were the result of an informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans.”
The National Pulse’s Raheem Kassam notes that the Time report “even confirms both The National Pulse’s reporting on former Obama lawyer Ian Bassin, as well as Revolver.news’s assertion of the involvement of Norm Eisen in what amounted to a major admission of a globalist setup to leverage the coronavirus, mail-in voting, and corporate interest to oust President Trump from office.”
Writer Molly Ball noted in the Time article: “The handshake between business and labor was just one component of a vast, cross-partisan campaign to protect the election–an extraordinary shadow effort… Their work touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding.”
Ball quotes Eisen in the article. In early September 2020 the Revolver.news website described Eisen as the “legal hatchet man and central operative in the ‘color revolution’ against President Trump.”
The Time article also notes the efforts of Bassin, who The National Pulse exclusively reported on – also in September.
Ball writes that “participants” like Eisen and Bassin now “want the secret history of the 2020 election told, even though it sounds like a paranoid fever dream–a well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information.”
Ball identifies Mike Podhorzer, political director at AFL-CIO, as “the architect” of the conspiracy.
“The first task was overhauling America’s balky election infrastructure,” the Time article states, adding that “an assortment of foundations contributed tens of millions in election-administration funding. The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative chipped in $300 million.”
The death of George Floyd was also leveraged for political ends, the Time article asserts: “The racial-justice uprising sparked by George Floyd’s killing in May was not primarily a political movement. The organizers who helped lead it wanted to harness its momentum for the election without allowing it to be co-opted by politicians. Many of those organizers were part of Podhorzer’s network, from the activists in battleground states who partnered with the Democracy Defense Coalition to organizations with leading roles in the Movement for Black Lives.”
As Kassam noted: “In effect, big business, big activist groups, big unions, and big media would collaborate to keep President Trump away from office” and keep all reporting on the steal “off the airwaves and social media.”
The Time article continues the Left’s claim that activists were not trying to stop Trump from winning but “rather guarantee a fair election,” Kassam noted. But one line in the article “gives the whole thing away.”
Ball reveals an 11 p.m. Zoom call on election night wherein – when President Trump was in the lead – Podhorzer stepped in to calm his colleagues down: “Podhorzer presented data to show the group that victory was in hand.”
Kassam added: “The article even claims that grassroots conservative activists came close to rumbling the plan, especially in Michigan, where observers were locked out of the counting room and placards placed on windows to stop them seeing inside.”
