What was reported about the CENTCOM US Command meeting with the IDF’s Command yesterday?
• The US ideally would like to move more forces and get the preparedness even stronger.
• The US is ready to act now if given the order to do so.
• The Chief of Staff of the IDF, in an internal conversation, said that “It’s only in Trump’s head.” The timing of an attack, if at all.
•The US wants a clean quick but not too expensive and lengthy operation.
•The operation will focus on those who harmed protesters.
•Regime change is desired but it’s not clear if it will be the actual goal.
• Everything above could be intentional misdirection, and the attack is imminent.
Note: The latest theory is that the weather in the US is an obstacle to additional mobilization of supplies, Tuesday may be the day.
~Al Arabia (Saudi News) is reporting of a major US drill in the area. Note that a drill can be a misdirection before an attack.
~Iranian Anti Aircraft drills. I watched a video of it.
~Iranian propaganda. The Head of the National Committee of Security posted an images with many American coffins and saying “I hope the soldiers said goodbye to their families”.
~Some Security Officials in Israel are estimating that it may be a week or a week plus till the US is fully set up for the operation if it will. Note that this too could be a misdirector. If it’s near you can expect a lot of smoke screens.
~US ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz in an interview on Fox News said that the UN itself is now confirming 18,000 dead with a likely much higher final number. Note that the number 30,000 keeps appearing. Not confirmed.
~I see more videos of live fire at protesters. Quite awful.
~There are reports that Khamenei ordered to do whatever it takes to crush the protests before the massacre.
~A report from a US Military Senior that if the US wants, no bunker will save Khamenei.
~A comment: If anyone freaks out let me calm you down. If you remember I also calmed down all the “WW3 freak out crowd” before the strike on the nuclear sites.
Iran probably has some 1,000-1,500 ballistic missiles. After the war Israel left them with only 40-60 launchers. An initial strike will devastate what they have. They may be able to fire a couple of dozen missies which will mostly be intercepted and then the launchers will be hunted.
At the end of the 12 days war they were firing only some 5-8 missiles at a time as they lost their capabilities.
Their drones can be easily intercepted. Israel was not hit with a single drone at that war.
I just heard an interview with a lead scientist in the Israeli Security establishment. He was able to repeat that “in the 12 Days War, dozens of drones were neutralized with electronic warfare, he talked about cyber”. He was at liberty to say it because the IDF published it. But he said that this was a very small part of what was done electronically and most of it can’t be published.
The Iranian Air-force is very old. They have airplanes from an earlier generation. They are not a challenge.
Iran is a paper tiger. Israel had them on their knees in days. The US is a whole different league.
Already in 1982 Israel used massive electronic warfare against the Syrians which followed with 80 Syrian jets shot down in hours. The Israeli model of this battle was used by the US at the invasion to Iraq. I will post a video about it. Trump yesterday mentioned a new electronic weapon that neutralized the missile systems in Venezuela.
In short – Don’t worry, Iran should!
~Gaza: An IDF operation in Gaza to locate and return the body of the last hostage. They have intel that he may be buried with hundreds of Gazans. They are there with digging bulldozers and dentists who use mobile X-rays to identify the teeth. Returning this body will put an end to the worst nightmare in modern Israeli history. It’s hard to explain but prepare burial is essential in Judaism.
~Kushner and Witkoff were in Israel yesterday and spoke with Bibi, pushing the next phase of the plan. Israel is not willing to open the Rafah Crossing to Egypt until all the hostages are home. This was the original plan. I just heard that it will be open partially until the body of the hostage returns.
A complete opening of the crossing would enable an easier flow of aid. Israel will have a security monitoring mechanism too. Foreign passport holders will be able to leave. Egypt is strict about preventing mass migration, so select permits to leave will be given—probably medical cases to begin with.

We all ran into a rattlesnake on the way to the top that we all gawked at & messed around with but no one was bit, he was not very big either.

MMW – the smaller, younger rattlers are more likely to strike and “shoot their wad.” They are actually considered more rather than less dangerous than adult snakes.

They didn’t have any of us “campers” armed as I was either 14 or 15… and all the camp councilors were all European(most first time in the states), and none were around for the snake incident.
I do believe I was the only one that had earned any shooting badges @ camp, should have qualified for the NRA sharpshooter badge but the German councilor(from our bunk) that day claimed I missed the target with 1 bullet…. I didn’t miss the target…. needed a 5 spot target instead of a single.(was my last day or so of camp)
None of my bunk mates ever went to the range, they all new each other & were from Teaneck NJ.

I “danced” on a copperhead in TN when dad was leading us back to the “crik” spring where it originated a mile or two west of cousins property.
I was 2nd or 3rd in line following dad, I had stepped on him and apparently felt the movement under foot, he took off so fast you could hear him crossing the “crik” with a splash.
That “crik” bed was my first shooting range starting at about 8 yo or so, it had some very large flat rock areas about a 1/4 to half mile west walking down it as it was usually not or barely flowing, that made for some good staging of targets…. cans, bottles & the like.
We were running a jump for our trainees out at camp Bolus (training area for Ft. Sam Houston, TX) and part of the routine is to walk the DZ to make sure there are no hazards. They found a western diamond back, killed it and brought it in. They skinned it and the skin ran across the hood and down the finders of a CUCV ( military full sized GM Blazer) from wheel well to wheel well.
I took the meat over to the trainees and told them to build a fire but only use the scrub oak and maybe a little mesquite wood to cook it over. I was jump mastering and had things to do so couldn’t stick around and teach them how to do it. Of course the boneheads used pine and ruined it.
Rah, rattlesnake tastes pretty good when cooked properly. Yep they ruined it for sure.

Manuel Ponce w as a Mexican composer and personal friend of Segovia. I’ve always preferred classical guitar music that allowed the guitar’s lyricism to show. Listening to this concerto is a good example. Somewhere I have a LP of a Segovia concert playing this. Lovely. You have good taste—that music is perfect hot-tub music. Alas, it’s 38F (up from the 20’s earlier) here in Texas at the moment. Outside actually feels lots colder.
I knew serious cold was coming so at my favorite taqueria yesterday, I bought a large chicken tortilla soup. Their’s is the best in town and I swear they gave me a couple of quarts! Bless ’em. I’ll be eating wonderful soup for days now . . . Can’t wait for 70F . . .

I got turned off on Apple products with my purchase of an Ipod, forced me to use their software & that worked fine for a while & also was the movie player (I had digitized all my media by that point & 128k ISDN to download).
They started updating that software for the “iPhone” fore runner & screwed everything up, all their software would do is crash in the middle of playing media so it got dumped in favor of Winamp.
That got gobbled up by AOL for big money, used Winamp for a long time, use VLC now for a very long time, tho is a bit buggy on Linux, using Linux since 2020 when update to Win Krashed 2 external hard drives of business backup data on a failed hang reboot made them bricks, never Win again.
If I want to game again will have to try a Virtual Machine Windows install on Linux.
I’m currently using an android – and I thought was the cause.
For my part, I click the arrow to back out to the prior page.

Problems, do a search for what you are trying to do, everything has been asked and answered on the linux boards for forever, whatever you run into you will never be the first to have had the issue.
Installing software relatively easy if it is in flatpak form inside of the software manager to download…. think play store install.
Other software not available is installed by a download and command line in terminal, I still must do a search on how to install what ever APP that is not in the software manager system.
Thunderbird email client built in, you will have to add access addresses to auto get email unless you use web clients for email access.
Sharing files to other linux / android is a breeze…. not so for sharing with windows, pain in the A$$.
I just installed Linux Mint 22.2 fresh on a M2 SSD, my win laptop would only tell me that it had no authority to access what it already had in 21.3 LM.
Had to do a deep search on LM forums on how to set up <SMB> again to get windows to read media shares again. Probably should put new SSD in the laptop with Linux installed on it, as it crawls now since they auto “upgraded” it to Win 10 (from 7) & can’t go to 11…. none of my stuff was good enough to upgrade to win11…. guess they want you to by a new Winbox for big $$$$$.
Wish I would have switched to Linux back in the 90’s, gaming buddy outta CA was a Swat officer, taught himself linux, got hired by AOL….. his first company Xmas present of 200 shares of AOL stock made him a millionaire in less than 5 years.

My phone weather app says we got 19″ of snow. Looks more like a foot of snow to me. Didn’t stop snowing until around 18:00. You need some tall boots or gaiters to keep the snow from getting into your boots.
Tomorrow is shovel, snow blow, and Steve will use the plow on his ATV to clear the driveways. Gotta get it done because this snow isn’t going anywhere for some time and it’s looking like we’ll be getting more this coming weekend or early next week. Temps forecast calls for it getting below 0 every day this week with highs in the teens.

Believe it or not, for the first time ever, Carter Express is not dispatching today! Suckers sent me out in stuff worse that this. One time I spent the night in my truck at the terminal because of a blizzard so we could not leave due to all the roads being closed.
The next morning I spent an hour digging my truck out and as soon as the road conditions changed from Red to Yellow we were off on our way up to the Romulus terminal to pick up a load coming out of Canada to take down to Smithville, TN. The guy I was teaming with was a real loser. I was driving and he was whining that we should turn around because the road conditions were so bad on I-69.
The further north I got the better the road conditions got. Upon arriving at the Romulus terminal we found out the load coming out of Canada was not there yet. It didn’t get there until about 10 PM that night. He was supposed to drive but instead of sleeping he had been watching TV all day in the drivers lounge. We got 50 miles south of Romulus on I-75 and he pulled over on the shoulder and said he was too tired to drive. A-hole didn’t even pull up on a ramp.
I took over and got us down to Smithville and part way back up towards Romulus to do a 2nd round of the same before he took over.
Another time they sent into Boston the morning after that city had received an all time record amount of snowfall. People were walking on the roads because the sidewalks were covered with 6′ of plowed snow. I made it in and out and then they tried to send me down to Hartford, CT. for my back haul. There was a forecast for blizzard conditions coming in down there. I called dispatch and told them to call the place I was to pick up to see if they would be open. Of course they told dispatch that they were closing up and sending everyone home.
I’m wondering what has changed since I was driving for them?

The summer time equivalent to the winter wind chill is the wet bulb temperature.

COMMENTARY FOR JOHN 14
Christ comforts his disciples. (1-11) He further comforts his disciples. (12-17) He still further comforts his disciples. (18-31)
12-17 Whatever we ask in Christ’s name, that shall be for our good, and suitable to our state, he shall give it to us. To ask in Christ’s name, is to plead his merit and intercession, and to depend upon that plea. The gift of the Spirit is a fruit of Christ’s mediation, bought by his merit, and received by his intercession. The word used here, signifies an advocate, counsellor, monitor, and comforter. He would abide with the disciples to the end of time; his gifts and graces would encourage their hearts. The expressions used here and elsewhere, plainly denote a person, and the office itself includes all the Divine perfections. The gift of the Holy Ghost is bestowed upon the disciples of Christ, and not on the world. This is the favour God bears to his chosen. As the source of holiness and happiness, the Holy Spirit will abide with every believer for ever.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Back walk off the sun room clean. Area around Generac clean. Area in dog walk clean. Front walk and apron of the new garage clean. I did that with shovel and broom. Then Steve came over with his Polaris ATV that has a plow and I with the snowblower got my gravel driveway cleared.
Birds and squirrels fed.
The only place I have left to shovel is the back deck and that can wait until tomorrow because this 70 y/o has done enough today.
It sure is beautiful outside and though cold, if one knows how to dress and knows when to take a break and warm up, can still get a lot done outside.
Though the roads around here appear to be plowed pretty well now there are still lots of businesses closed, including our bank.

Surrounded by family, Talik says she is “proud” to have finally reached this moment after more than two years of campaigning for the return of her police officer son, who was killed in battle on October 7, 2023, and his body taken to Gaza.
In particular, she says, the family is proud “because we know it is IDF soldiers who retrieved Rani from that damned place.”

“We are so proud of you, IDF soldiers, proud of the police, proud of the government, proud of everyone who gave us so much strength, proud of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, proud of US President Donald Trump,” she says, also mentioning by name US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, and the government’s hostage pointman Gal Hirsch.
“Our pride is much, much stronger than our pain,” she says. “The people of Israel lives and is strong.”
“Rani came home as a true hero of Israel, and we are the proudest in the world,” she says.”
Itzik, who traveled to the Nahal Oz military base for a brief ceremony over his son’s coffin earlier this evening, says there was “strength” in the crowd of soldiers, police officers, and Ran’s friends, who gathered to escort him to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute.
“If you’d have asked Rani how he wanted to go, it would have been like this,” his father says. “This is his way.”
“He saved us, saved the people of Israel, saved Kibbutz Alumim, he saved everyone,” Itzik adds. “Rani always loved bringing people together, and he’s united the country. I don’t know how, but he did.”
Omri, Ran’s brother, echoes his mother’s words, saying: “Our pride today is much greater than our sorrow.”
“I had the prize of being the brother of an Israeli hero, who did the unbelievable,” he says.
Finally, Ran’s sister, Shira, thanks Trump, Witkoff, and Kushner in English.
“We are so grateful,” she says, adding that she believed Trump when he looked the family in the eye and promised to bring Ran back home.
Switching to Hebrew, she thanks the Israeli public that “never gave up” and the Tikvah Forum and all its volunteers. She thanks the families of the other hostages. “Even when your loved ones came home, you were still with us… You were our anchor in this insane situation…. We are a strong people. The people of Israel lives.”
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir says the military has completed one of its principal missions in the Gaza Strip with the return of slain policeman Master Sgt. Ran Gvili.
“For more than two years, we have been waiting for this moment, the return of the last hostage,” Zamir says during a visit to eastern Gaza City today, after Gvili’s body was located at a cemetery.
“The body of Ran Gvili has been found, and with this, in effect, one of our principal missions has come to an end: the return of all the hostages, the living and the fallen, to their homes, to their country, to their families,” he says.
“We have completed a war objective. The campaign continues ahead of us; we will continue to pursue our enemies wherever they may be,” Zamir adds.

Israel Update
~Today is a very special day in Israeli history. It may be hard to grasp if you’re not Israeli, but I will try to explain. I am dedicating this update for the historic day. It’s a day of immense relief in Israel across the board. Our last hostage is beck in Israel, not alive but back.
Each nation and military has its own set of values. In the IDF there is a core value often expressed as: “No one gets left behind.” Soldiers know it going into battle. Every person counts — even after death.
Religiously, a proper burial is essential. And closure for the family is essential.
Ran (Rani) Gvili — the last hostage to be returned from Gaza. Not alive.
On 10/7, Ran Gvili, a Police counter-terror unit officer, was on medical leave and awaiting surgery for a broken shoulder after a motorcycle accident. When he heard about the attack in the south, he went to fight on his own initiative. He helped rescue people fleeing the Nova festival area and fought in the Kibbutz Alumim area. Israel later determined he was killed on October 7 and that his body was taken into Gaza.
Ran is often described as “the first in and the last out” — meaning he was among the first to rush in to fight (despite not being called up) and, tragically, the last hostage’s remains to be returned.
Israel conducted a Special Operation in Gaza to get Intel about his whereabouts. Hundreds of soldiers took part in a focused operation which included digging out bodies from a large cemetery and dentists who tried to identify the right body. After a couple of hundreds his body was located complete with his uniform on.
There are videos of soldiers bursting in tears. It was an emotional occasion. The whole nation had a huge sigh of relief. I will add some videos to give you a better feeling of how it was.
He was the last of the October 7 hostages still held in Gaza to be returned, signaling the end of a long nightmare Israel has lived through since the abductions. (A total of 255 people were taken hostage when including those abducted before 10/7 as well.)
I’ll also mention: among the overall hostage count were two bodies of IDF’s abductees from 2014.
May his soul have peace, and may his family and friends find healing.
