COMMENTARY FOR REVELATION 21
A new heaven, and new earth: the new Jerusalem where God dwells, and banishes all sorrow from his people. (1-8) Its heavenly origin, glory, and secure defence. (9-21) Its perfect happiness, as enlightened with the presence of God and the Lamb, and in the free access of multitudes, made holy. (22-27)
1-8 The new heaven and the new earth will not be separate from each other; the earth of the saints, their glorified, bodies, will be heavenly. The old world, with all its troubles and tumults, will have passed away. There will be no sea; this aptly represents freedom from conflicting passions, temptations, troubles, changes, and alarms; from whatever can divide or interrupt the communion of saints. This new Jerusalem is the church of God in its new and perfect state, the church triumphant. Its blessedness came wholly from God, and depends on him. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.
Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,

search for Ryan Maue on twitter. There you can subscribe for his free daily weather brief sent to your email called “Weather Trader”. He’ll show you gifs of some of the model runs that he is fond of. He also has a substack IF you want to pay for the subscription.
I have shared a lot of Dr. Maue’s work here over the years concerning hurricane data but he is also a great source for weather in general.

One more thing. Not only is it going to be cold, there is going to be high winds coming in after the snow/ice passes so wind chills are going to be serious for a day or two.
The gas stations will be closed due to no power for the pumps so if your in the possible ice band, fill up your vehicles and gas cans and if your vehicle isn’t garaged and you can’t cover it, at least have some of that spray ice melt available to thaw your frozen locks and latches and pull your windshield wipers up so they’re not in contact with the windshield.
Keep a five gallon bucket or two full of sand or even water softener salt in your trunk if you have to try and drive. Dress and prepare like your going to get stuck with no help coming for some time. Have a tow strap and know where you should secure it to your vehicle so it will not be damaged if you are lucky enough to find someone to pull you out.
If you must go out in freezing temperatures, bring along an empty metal coffee can (big metal pot), a large bottle of water, enough healthy snacks to eat if you’ll be stuck in your car over night, a few medium size candles inside soup cans, a few sleeping blankets, snow boots, gloves and a hat.
If you keep your car running for warmth make sure to open your windows a crack for fresh air.
Charge your phone before heading out, keep track of where you are so if you run off the road you’ll be able to tell someone where you are (especially out in the country where you’ll need to know the mile marker you just passed, or if you go off the road altogether).
Whatever you do, do not get out of your car and walk. The snow and rain may not be falling, but if the road is icy you could break a lot of bones falling.
