Somalia’s designation expires March 17, 2026. At least 60 days before a TPS designation expires, the Secretary of Homeland Security, after consultation with appropriate U.S. government agencies, must review the country to determine whether the conditions supporting its designation continue to be met and, if so, how long to extend the designation.
Somali nationals who do not have a legal status other than TPS that would allow them to remain in the United States should use the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s CBP Home mobile app to report their departure from the United States. The app is a safe, secure way to self-deport and includes a complimentary plane ticket, a $1,000 exit bonus, and the opportunity for potential future legal immigration. [link]
Hopefully, when the Federal judge intervenes to claim she/Trump can’t do that, the response is brutally simple “TPS was granted by a President, it can be revoked by a President. The court has no authority.”

It used to be you could sell back any unused/accrued leave up to 60 days at separation to include your entire pay, but they changed it in IIRC the 80s to only base pay. But the days you had “on the books” when they made the change would continue to be paid at full pay, as long as you didn’t use them as actual leave. This was referred to as “saved leave”.

From my reading I’ve learned there is a whole cottage industry training people to steal from the government in Minnesota. Attorneys & others advising (for a fee, of course) what paperwork to fill out and how to maneuver around the welfare system to bleed it dry.
