I have worked in Behavioral Health for years and I can tell you that our young people have suffered death like no other generation in America. They live daily with multiple losses of friends per year from drug overdose. They get it. Also, they don’t like others speaking for them. And they are more savvy than you think.
As someone who has lost a son to drugs , I don’t need you to explain to me how badly the youth has suffered from drugs. I know all to well. Also, I’m not speaking for them, I know plenty of youth who are checking out of politics. Trump said America first and they literally took him at his word.
The midterms are not today, plenty of time to do something awesome for the kids.
I doubt the angry young people were going to vote in midterms anyway. They are not reliable voters. Add to that, the Democrats ran a very successful social media campaign to get young women out to vote in the recent VA elections resulting in a huge win for Democrats.
The targeting of young women in high school, college and their 20s was impressive and very successful. These girls were posting high quality videos in the days after the election about how amazing Abigail Spanberger is – it was like how the media talked about obama but coming from low propensity young, female voters.
There are things that must be done, regardless of their effect on potential vote count. The vote count should be repaired, if needed, by other means.
