Did I say games? It was more akin to WW3 with my competitive wife and daughter.
A grand time was had by all.
Naturally my son and I ‘let’ them win.
I had hoped to compose a more serene Christmas piece this week, but events in Australia and indeed around the sleepwalking western world, made me write this.

Good morn, dear Patrick ☕🎄💕 Thank you for the gift of sharing your family gathering, my friend. It really is that for me, because in a sudden rush, all my Welsh Christmases with my sister in law and friends in her 16th century farmhouse come flooding back.
Warm fires, candle light, curtains drawn against the cold, excellent roast dinners, wonderful conversations, and yes, on occasions those games you and your family enjoyed with such fierce competition. That competition was always a fixture for us as well, especially when ours were younger with a game no one in this country will know, “Mousie, Mousie”.
And laughter?? So much, so much….now as time has passed, the ingredients of my mental cocktails which bring so many smiles with a dash of bittersweet, as memories are made of…Hiraeth 💔

At this point I am surprised that mass arrests of European and UK families celebrating the birth of our Saviour haven’t been ordered by despotic governments which are busy turning out all the lights once more.

British-American stage and screen actress and singer (Brigadoon; Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – “Truly Scrumptious”), dies at 91
Biography: Sally Ann Howes is best known for her role as Truly Scrumptious in the movie “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” (1968).
Howes began her career as a child actress, making her film debut at age 12 in “Thursday’s Child” (1943). She came from a theatrical family, which helped her transition into musical theater as a teenager. In 1953, she starred alongside her father in a production of “Paint Your Wagon.”
Her career took a significant turn when she replaced Julie Andrews as Eliza Doolittle in the Broadway production of “My Fair Lady” in 1958. This role helped establish Howes as a leading lady in musicals. She went on to receive a Tony Award nomination for her performance in “Brigadoon” in 1963.
Howes’ most famous role came in 1968 when she starred in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” opposite Dick Van Dyke. The film became a family classic and cemented her place in cinema history. Despite this success, Howes preferred live theater and focused much of her later career on stage performances.
Throughout her career, Howes performed for three United States Presidents: Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, and Lyndon B. Johnson. She continued to act and sing well into her later years, including a United States tour of “My Fair Lady” in 2007-2008 when she was in her late 70s.
In her personal life, Howes adopted two sons with her second husband, Richard Adler. She later married Douglas Rae in 1972, and they remained together until his death in 2021.

The birth of Christ. (1-7) It is made known to the shepherds. (8-20) Christ presented in the temple. (21-24) Simeon prophesies concerning Jesus. (25-35) Anna prophesies concerning him. (36-40) Christ with the learned men in the temple. (41-52)
8-20 Angels were heralds of the new-born Saviour, but they were only sent to some poor, humble, pious, industrious shepherds, who were in the business of their calling, keeping watch over their flock. We are not out of the way of Divine visits, when we are employed in an honest calling, and abide with God in it. Let God have the honour of this work; Glory to God in the highest. God’s good-will to men, manifested in sending the Messiah, redounds to his praise. Other works of God are for his glory, but the redemption of the world is for his glory in the highest. God’s goodwill in sending the Messiah, brought peace into this lower world. Peace is here put for all that good which flows to us from Christ’s taking our nature upon him. This is a faithful saying, attested by an innumerable company of angels, and well worthy of all acceptation, That the good-will of God toward men, is glory to God in the highest, and peace on the earth. The shepherds lost no time, but came with haste to the place. They were satisfied, and made known abroad concerning this child, that he was the Saviour, even Christ the Lord. Mary carefully observed and thought upon all these things, which were so suited to enliven her holy affections. We should be more delivered from errors in judgment and practice, did we more fully ponder these things in our hearts. It is still proclaimed in our ears that to us is born a Saviour, Christ the Lord. These should be glad tidings to all.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

I have been using a CBD product from Time Labs called Canna-Calm for several weeks now. (it is not psychoactive) I hoped it would act as an anti VEGF to be able eventually stop the eye shots. I researched usimg cbd for a number of different health problems and all showed great promise – with, of course, the medical caveat ‘more studies are needed’.
There is also this gem: cbd is the most used and researched drug in the world. so, looks like we’re catching up.
Wouldn’t be surprised if researchers already have done studies and with this new Executive Order may be just what was needed to finally release the results.
Hope it works for many people.
Allergic to anything with the plant it comes from, interestingly in the celery family, so will be curious what safeguards for preventing undue exposure will be developed.
