The Los Angeles authorities hold a press conference to announce they are awaiting search warrants to be able to send detectives into the home of Rob Reiner whose body is reportedly laying inside.
Apparently, the appearance of dead people inside tends to give LAPD a strong indicator that a crime may have taken place. However, they are not sure and need a search warrant to investigate what specifically caused the dead people. WATCH:

Someone updated Reiner’s Wikipedia page to include his date of death before any official announcement from the LAPD and before any reporting by major news media. At that time there one story available online, and it only reported two bodies had been found in the residence.
Yet a Wikipedia editor already had enough information to know that Reiner was dead, suggesting someone was leaking information.
LAPD is going to LAPD. They’ve been running these games with Hollywood for over a century. A leopard is its spots.
It’s already being reported it was his son Nick.
The origin of those reports appears to be People Magazine, which is citing “multiple” unidentified sources. People Magazine may have good sources, and probably does in LA, but until more concrete information is released I’m reserving judgement. It also doesn’t seem logical that Nick Reiner is being questioned while at the same time authorities are not able to search the home because they lack a warrant. I don’t see how both of those things can be true.
Even if People is correct, that strengthens my point that this investigation is already being compromised by leaks.

Where I live, we recently reported a death of my father-in-law, who was 98 years old, by calling 911. The paramedics came and found the man deceased of natural causes. They were REQUIRED to call the sheriff who sent a deputy to investigate. You cannot LOCK OUT the police or demand a search warrant. Someone’s death in your house is NOT a private matter.
When someone dies in your home, you can’t just quietly remove the body and bury it in your back yard. You cannot even lawfully transport a dead body in your own vehicle.
No regular civilian has a right to prevent a police investigation of an obviously violent crime, as in this Los Angeles case.

Its common to get a search warrant in these cases. You’re fine going in to render aid or stop further violence. However, when it comes to evidence collection and investigation, you gotta have a warrant. TRULY HYPOTHETICAL HERE- If whomever killed these two persons lived there (say a boarder, housekeeper,child,etc) THEY have an expectation of privacy in their things and any evidence found without a warrant is inadmissible… NOT saying thats the case here, but thats why this is done. Well, ever since the LAPD blew the investigation on the OJ murder case, they should be careful with celebrity murders. Get the warrant, bring in the crime scene processors and do everything by the book.

A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. Yes, Reiner has spewed plenty, but he is not POTUS. There is a responsibility that comes with leading a nation, and that includes setting a tone. Had he just posted, “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!” that would have been an honest but compassionate response. But it took a nasty turn.
As it was, the middle rant part wasn’t even accurate, and should have been left unsaid. Reiner and his wife were not murdered because of TDS, or whatever else. They were violently murdered by their troubled son, who had been homeless and had serious drug addiction and possible gender issues. That is a tragedy in any family. I didn’t read it as Trump saying he himself was the victim. What I read was President Trump saying that Rob Reiner’s raging craziness caused people to become angry–like Rob’s raging craziness caused his own family to go crazy.

This two paragraph news story is at once grimly humorous, appropriately revealing as to the idiocy that pervades the entire California power structure and outrightly outrageous as to the moronic idol worship of stupid liberals, even in death. P.S. To be clear, I stand with the President of the United States. Nothing he said was untrue. He has the same right of free speech that you do. And if he feels moved to point out the mental imbalance of a certain individual, I support that.

Knowing how Hollywood operates, I’d bet that Law Enforcement wanted warrants because they knew they’d find a whole lot of evidence for other illegal activities. Anything from drugs to scandalous videos. With a warrant, none of that would be admissible in court. Just whatever is covered with the warrant, which will be very specific.
Nope, this is a big CYA for everyone in California that might be implicated when they search Mr. Reiner’s home.
