Look at the rules for Congressional Pensions and you’ll find that she will now get approximately $725 per month beginning in about 10 years when she turns 72. I doubt that was a big factor in her picking Jan 5 as her resignation date.
It certainly looks suspicious, but if I were leaving, for whatever reason, and I was close to being vested, I wouldn’t leave before that date. She has gone back and forth between GOPe and MAGA for awhile. That makes her suspect in every aspect.

We do not need to be IN church for our faith when too many church leaders have forsaken the word of God and taken a knee to false gods.
Since early 2019, several members of our central Maryland based family gather at my son & his wife’s home every Sunday for brunch at 11:45 followed by one or two hours of focused Bible study guided by a pastor of a Bible church located in Austin Texas. We use audio recordings or YouTube video recordings of his lessons that the church has created. They have on online library of hundreds of recordings linked via a topic/ categorized online list.
We do this because after an exhaustive two year search in our local area, my son and his wife could not find a church & pastor who taught Christian doctrine accurately (using a steady exegetical approach with strong hermeneutics) and without all the social bias and baggage most church organizations seem to rely upon.
In other words, most churches are engaged in “Churchianity” rather than biblical Christianity – a focus on teaching and understanding doctrine.
My son traveled to Texas a few years ago to meet the pastor and did so with success. Earlier this year the Pastor actually came up to Maryland to attend a scrabble tournament (which is his avocationsl hobby), and we had the opportunity to meet with him & his wife for several enjoyable hours. We really enjoy his teaching style, his humor ( often self deprecating) and occasional funny critical sarcasm aimed at contemporary political and religious ideas that seem to be popular despite being untrue and against doctrine.
In 2022, we actually sat together and watched four 1 hour-long live streamed lessons on YouTube each Sunday when the pastor conducted One Year Through the Bible course. It was awesome.

As a taxpayer/shareholder, I’m just not seeing the return on investment over time, as much as I like the idea of Trump’s agenda, and as much as I agree with Economic Nationalism. It’s also an emotional connection. So it’s very hard to look at this from a non-advocate perspective. But the numbers just don’t add up. At some point it doesn’t make sense to keep trying the same things over and over again.
I wish MAGA all the best, and I hope Trump can still succeed somehow.
