Red flag laws are a two edged sword.
One side, the prevention of a firearm being used because of an individual causing harm to themselves or others is a real problem.
The other side, it can be used by a vindictive individual (spouse during a bitter divorce or custody case for example, this has happened) to strip another individual of their lawful rights under color of law.
Disagree. If one believes an individual is a genuine risk to others or himself, he should seek / attempt some intervention by family, friends, and /or others who may be able to address the issue positively. It is the individual and not the instrument. There are many reliable ways to kill or injure another and short of straight jacket restraint in a padded cell we cannot prevent infliction of harm. We do not have extreme protection protocols for car keys. Moreover, Psychiatry is more art than science.
Alternatively, “Red Flag” laws provide “teeth” to the vindictive, the hateful, political enemies / opponents, anti-2A types, Karens, over-reactors et al. What other Constitutional Right is similarly vulnerable to arbitrary deprivation?
Agreed. It is too big of a risk of having these “red flag laws” being used as weapon against a law abiding person.
Look at all of the terrorist/mass murder attacks that occurred even though these perpetrators were on the radar of the FBI. Red Flag Laws will be used against the enemies of the state and the enemies of the powerful. They will not be used to actually take a dangerous psychopath off of the streets.
We already have laws that say that illegals are not to receive government assistance (SNAP, WIC, Section 8, etc) and yet, they do. If the government ignores these laws then I am sure that they will ignore red flag laws as well.

Correct – the film “Minority Report” was not fantasy, it was wishful projection by those who wish to control us. The only viable, non-liberty-infringing deterrents to crime are fear of punishment and personal morality, which is why the left have been working so hard the last century to destroy both.

The problem I see with question 1 is that there are too many pieces. A voter may agree with photo ID but object to limits on absentee voting. In many such cases, the voter will more likely reject the initiative than accept.

Why do red flag laws focus on firearms? There are numerous items in the average household that can be used as lethal weapons. What about knives, hammers, golf clubs, baseball bats, heavy objects, you get my drift. These laws are just another incremental attack on the 2nd Amendment.

A side note is that I’ve heard of many cases where red flag laws were specifically abused to strip people of their property. That is knowing that getting them back is prohibitively expensive and time consuming, if they ever succeed. The standards of evidence are different in a administrative rather than in a criminal proceeding.
If you want a good example of that, look at the form you have fill out in Calif to recover a firearm that got stolen in a burglary.
You have to pay a fee and you to fill out a form for EACH firearm.
If you can’t specify the barrel length, the form can be rejected (how many people know the exact barrel length of each firearm they own?)
If the process isn’t completed in 90 days, you have to reapply and pay the fee again.

The reciprocal is that the President has do the same. If he truly stands between them and us, then he needed to hold his nose and give Winsome a bit more than he did. We, as country, not just the state, will regret Spanberger being elected governor. If you imagined HRC to be terrible, well, you haven’t seen nothing yet with Abigail.

She was new to politics and quickly threw him under the bus as soon as she could. She could have just shut up and did her job. That showed her disloyalty and stupid “political room reading”. It would be one thing if she had decades of experience of fostering relationships within the political system but she does not have much to offer other than she’s not Spanberger.
I hope that she wins. I hope that the people of Virginia are willing to vote for “Not Spanberger”. PDJT clearly is not going to publicly support her. However, he is Saving the World and Making America Great Again so I am not going to be mad at him for not giving her an endorsement. She earned this reaction.

That is 100,000 more than Youngkin got the same day in 2021. They focused on Southwest VA MAGA voters that haven’t voted yet. Word is that Trump was fantastic at the rally!

I think most folks on the right, at least those on this site, would agree Blonde and Patel are weaklings and don’t have the skills or courage to really do what needs to be done. Trump put them there and he will likely need to remove them at some point. The GOP will have a very tough time keeping the senate. Don’t believe all the “feel-good” stuff from all of these right-leaning clickbait sites. If Trump makes a change, it needs to be done before Nov2026.

for what its worth thats not how i am seeing it. there ARE debates going on, including here. and a few people tend to get immediately defensive or angry about it.
we can dismiss it all as “trolls” and “you’re not MAGA”, but i find that line of reasoning very weak. there ARE some big policy differences and some decisions being made that change the course of history, and change the assumptions that trump’s coalition made about him and how he would govern. to discuss the context and background of why they are important is not “concern trolling.” thats how debate is done.
IMO all of us want america to be great again – but clearly there are some big chunks we have to resolve, as a group, what that means.

If you think about it, the two voices that really helped President Trump in the last election cycle were Charlie Kirk and Tucker Carlson. Charlie has been taken out. Tucker is being slimed.

As I browsed through X I saw a good number of video clips of the people I mentioned in my message. Most were just ranting and raving about their point of views, mostly name calling and accusations. I didn’t see any real civil debates from this crowd that others have mentioned. However, I very well could have missed those.
There was a video of Tucker Carlson interviewing Fuentes. Fuentes was throwing a lot of over the top bombs and Tucker didn’t challenge him on those- didn’t seem much like a debate to me, but what do I know.
I know there are different sides to the Israeli issues that should be explored and how it affects the U.S., but would prefer an actual discussion and debate rather than throwing out divisive accusations.
JMO- Hoping the pain goes away.
I think that once Israel is not constantly fighting for its very existence, then that issue will be laid to rest. That is what President Trump is working on.
Israel has the fight fight fight mentality and responds with fury when attacked. It is the nature of that part of the world. They are still in 7th century mindset in that region. Once they all realize that life will be better when they start trading instead of killing, we can stop worrying about it.

Again … out of nearly 2 MILLION Non-Uniformed and Non-Military employees of the US Government’s Executive Branch there are not 10’s of 1,000’s useless employees who can be furloughed or fired as well as their Executive Branch offices CLOSED in exchange for funding needed employees and services such as Air Traffic Control, Coast Guard Security as well as Safety assets, Federal Law Enforcement etc. ???
The next big issue that will soon arise will be major slow downs at SEA PORTS … traffic in and out due to lack of inspectors, pilots, Coast Guard, sea lane traffic maintenance, et al.
Air Traffic is already tottering on the brink of closure, if not major reductions.
While the media attention and focus is on welfare payments … the real target of the shut down by the Uni-Party is the economy … via impacts on transportation and communications … with a side order of Federal Law Enforcement and DoD closures on the side.
Sure hope the President and his team has a Trade Off list ready to swap out useless stuff for needed stuff that can be supported by tax revenues as the shut down will drag on through the holidays when the real damage can be done.

It never ceases to amaze me how Jews align themselves against their own interests.
Bad news from Pennsylvania as far as the election to retain/oust corrupt judges goes. I’ve never seen such a long line for voting in a non presidential or gubernatorial election year. Of course they could all be voting to throw the bums out, but I doubt it for the following two reasons: 1) several of the voters there had never used the paper ballots that we’ve had in our precinct for at least a decade (so they certainly weren’t Trump voters) and 2) I haven’t seen so many Black voters coming out in our precinct since Barack Obama’s first election.
This site woefully underestimates how pissed off 70% of the voting population is right now.
I saw crazy turnout in my Red area this morning. I even spotted a “Don’t blame me, I voted for Harris” tee in line.
And what are they “pissed off” about?

I don’t know where you are, but there’s no way inflation is under 2%. Egg prices are down, which definitely helps. But the slight reduction in eggs doesn’t compensate for the increases in homeowners and car insurance, taxes, cars, tuition, etc. And people are getting laid off left and right. The economy is horrendous. The stock market (which is all smoke and mirrors) is no indication of the broader economy. People are really suffering. People lucky enough to have them are hanging onto jobs they hate because there are no options.

I recall long, long, long lines in eastern Pennsylvania in 2024 due to shenanigans, wasn’t it a lack of ballots? It was prioritized on the news and people were told to stay in line even if they had to sit on the ground (many did) or pee in their pants. They were in line for hours and hours.
