Sens. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., demand accountability as evidence behind the FBI ‘Arctic Frost’ operation starts to surface. Slowly at first, then suddenly….
Johnson and Schmitt are not bad actors, nor are they operating in bad faith. Both Senators are honest, patriotic and sincere. Both are also inside the system. Both Johnson and Schmitt are bound by the ‘schoolhouse rock’ customs and norms that frame their perspective of our constitutional republic.
We do not like being disagreeable, but we no longer can accept a demand that we adhere to rules that only apply to the behavior of the victim, not the abusers. The ‘strongly worded letter‘ approach is useless.

I’ll remain positive. There are more good people in this world than evil. Good will win.
My well worn cliché still works.
Not all politicians are corrupt. Its the 98% who give the rest a bad name
Nice one PH, just spluttered out my Diet Coke 😝
I think you’re almost correct in your assessment, only missed it by 1%!
by my count, it’s closer to 61% in the Senate, the more liberal of the two chambers
Tracking Lindsey was the main goal of this op. The others were simply to find out possible data points for future use. They were tracking Lindsey to make sure he wasn’t going off the reservation.
All we need for evil to flourish, is that good men do nothing
The demoralization of the treehouse is in retreat
Yep, until we use power we are nothing. I am optimistic and will ‘encourage’ these nine that were tracked to actually do something.
Except for maybe Johnson and Tuberville, none of them have actually done anything in their lives but talk. That’s why they are politicians.
Tuberville has had enough. He’s running for governor in AL instead, where he more likely can enact his MAGA policies unencumbered by the swamp.
Our bright Ruby red state is filled with Republicans who used to be Democrats. There will be many frustrations for Coach T not the least of which is he is associated with Auburn and there has never been been a Governor who didn’t go to the University of AL. That will be the beginning of the obstructionists. The state legislature is as log jammed as the US legislature. You are more optimistic than I am.
U AL has Football. Auburn has the Mises Institute. I’ll take Mises.
The perpetrators should be prosecuted in the states the senators represent, not in Washington.
Yes. Prosecute all of this illegal federal activity locally.
Dems eagerly use…and abuse…power.
The GOP always seems embarrassed to use power when they have it.
Controlled opposition will do that.
Nothing will change until the bad behavior is met with corrective and consistent consequences. The people in charge of delivering those consequences – Patel as FBI Director and Bondi as AG – don’t appear to be serious about that.
Can someone please explain the blind adoration and excuse making for Bondi? All I’m hearing is how tough Bondi was in hearings this week. Words are one thing. Actions are another.
And after 8 months is office why did it take a veiled threat from Trump for Bondi to act on Comey?
Maybe because she has to do a better job of housecleaning because all those dust bunnies are hiding just out of view and only show up when you think you did a great job getting rid of them.
My understanding is the DOJ is swamped with evidence and not enough prosecutors to take law breakers to court and win.
Most will be prosecuted in DC which is where they will lose.
It’s getting frustrating.
It does not help that the prosecutors who are in place keep working to derail accountability from behind the scenes. Multiple federal attorneys supposedly got in the way to interfere with the charges against Comey, Tish James, etc.
Don’t believe that for one minute. They are just looking for an excuse and anything will do.
I have a good friend who is an AUSA in a bright blue city. Law schools for the last 20+/- years have been graduating based on DEI, not competency. They don’t know how to Shepardize, don’t know how to competently present an argument, forget to cite cases, half the time can’t even spell.
And then many are just plain lazy and entitled. You can’t cut and paste legal pleadings and expect quality. So they cut bad deals and live up to the low expectations set for them, until now. There are not a large volume of brilliant legal minds that can be readily raised to the top now.
That’s why nothing ever changes. They only get better about covering up the crimes. Feels like Wray/Barr Act II
Act3. People forget that Barr was responsible for Ruby Ridge back in Bush 1.
Barr even got the FBI sniper that killed Randy Weaver’s wife who was holding a baby at the time off of any charges! And they say there is no statute of limitations on murder? JMO
pretty sure the founders didnt wait around for the corrupt govt to fix itself.
This is the foot in the door opportunity to push all the way in, but meek feckless efforts won’t work. There are zero prosecutions, despite mountains of evidence, for anyone except maybe Comey. Grabbing some low hanging fruit protesters and Antifa thugs is not how you repair our nation’s fabric. If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. To even have a chance to win you must fight. I see no fighting from our elected officials. All I see are posturing and endless circular talk. I didn’t vote for this. The clock is running out on MAGA.
I am usually all for the investigations to be completed so we know the full scope of crimes, but there must be a reckoning starting now.
We know damn good and well that major crimes have been committed.
My preference is that we start prosecutions as the investigation goes forward. Indict these individuals on what you have, and amend the charges as more is uncovered. This was done to the J6 people and President Trump, including people around President Trump.
Rip this disease out by the roots.
I hope these people sue the phone service providers into oblivion.
Of they are building RICO charges, it’s going to take a long time to build the entire case.
That’s if they actually planned on prosecution.
The sad reality us the corporation that is in control of the players will not allow it. They will do what they’ve always done, put another layer over the cover up l, feigning a altruistic motive.
In the end, we will lose more than faith in our govt. The line “If you can keep it” will paint the futility of IF in an immoral environment called Washington DC.
Patel proclaims he’s fired some agents. Ok, WHO?
yes, if he doesnt name names, did he do it?
If fired for doing something ILLEGAL…..where are the indictments?
I believe that they were fired because they dropped to their knees, to suck up to: “black-lies-matter”, instead of arresting THEM!
I do seem to remember that vaguely.
Name them,
It’s difficult to name non-existent people.
I don’t believe it – he would have gloated about it if he did. He’s a first class bozo.
So if these nine senators sue the DOJ and they go into discovery, a lot of dirt will be uncovered. Maybe they should include the ODNI in their efforts to uncover the extent of Arctic Frost and how deep it penetrated.
Possibly a stronger version of a strongly worded letter is in order.
Font size 14 this time, no less.
Use Braille?
3D effect 😎
Oh no – not that!
The Democrats still believe that the Russians have something on Trump.
Democrats still believe that Russia did interfere in the election to help Trump get elected his first term.
So, the Democrats feel that extraordinary steps will always be needed to stop Trump by any means necessary.
That’s their story and they’re sticking to it.
from TGP, “Russian President Vladimir Putin’s envoy Kirill Dmitriev told reporters former US President Joe Biden “provoked the war in Ukraine to cover up his family’s corruption.”
Maybe the Dems should be careful what they wish for.
Biden talked aboit ‘just a small incursion’. What was the date he said that?
That is the reason they keep pushing policies that in the history of mankind have never worked successfully. They do not understand logic and reasoning. Power as Sundance says is what drives them. It drives most of them crazy at our expense and our health.
Rank and file Democrats may believe all that, but their leaders in Washington know full well that the Russians have nothing on Trump and did not interfere in the 2016 election in any meaningful way to help get Trump elected. But they will continue to use those meritless allegations as justification for the extraordinary steps to stop Trump by any means necessary. For them, power is all that matters and Trump is a threat to their power and they will do anything and everything to thwart him. That is the plan and that is what they are sticking to.
Very bizarrely worded article. I agree with the senators, though, light is the best swamp disinfectant.
Amen. Americans have short memories and are easily distracted. Not 1 person convicted for the blatant crimes committed in Trump’s first term and there won’t be one in the 2nd either. See the pattern yet?
Notice none of the senators that were enabling the Ukraine laundromat were being spied on.
/sarc
Linda Graham was. Biden wanted to make sure he got his cut.
Yes but he is the only one. Thinking back to that picture of all the ones at the table on that side meeting they had. Tells me their task masters are running show and part of problem. May have put Linda on the phone tap list to distract, while the cabal had concerns with everyone else.
Gives Linda a sympathy card too. See they were after me. This is horrible.
A 3:00 am visit & a shackled Jack Smith would be a great start. As Julie Kelly notes “no one did more damage to Trump, his followers, & the country than Smith & his band of thugs.”
Half of Washington needs to be on that 3am visit.
SD has said time and time again that sunlight is the best disinfectant. This is a small ray.. but the issue I have is that Schmitt referred to the surveillance as wire tapping. That is a gross mischaracterization. Sadly, I have heard that recently a couple times. It isn’t a guy in a van with headsets.. it is on a scale that few people, outside of this space, can comprehend.
They spy on all of us. Period. Each of us has been violated as much as any Senator.
Senators are more special than each citizen?
Reference: George Orwell, Animal Farm.
It’s odd to me that Graham-nesty was part of this. He’s as friendly to the socialists as any alleged republican can be.
Maybe he is just a head fake pawn to keep everyone looking in the wrong direction. As is the norm. Each one of these swamp creatures has his/her part to play don’t ya know. No sarc/..
Trump talks to Lindsey.
Of all the people he would choose to talk to ……
He is also in-and-out of President Trump’s orbit on a regular basis playing golf etc …
Probably a lot of calls directly to President Trump and his inner circle. Good opportunity for surveillance.
Then again, Graham may be an FBI informant.
Nobody trusts a double-crosser. They will sell out either side depending on who is offering the best payoffs.
They need more whistleblowers?
(1) Nothing meaningful happens as a result of the information provided by the whistleblower.
(2) The whistleblower’s career and life is ruined.
The buck stops with these senators. They must do something big here.
The biggest whistleblower in the history of the US is currently exiled in Russia. Why would anyone else blow the whistle?
“Johnson and Schmitt are not bad actors, nor are they operating in bad faith. Both Senators are honest, patriotic and sincere. Both are also inside the system. Both Johnson and Schmitt are bound by the ‘schoolhouse rock’ customs and norms that frame their perspective of our constitutional republic.”
My frustration with Senator Schmitt yesterday is precisely because he, along with other GOP senators, is wedded to the “strongly worded letter” approach.
I am not accusing these men of being “bad actors.” They probably are honest, patriotic and sincere.
Truthfully though, so what?
Both men are choosing to be “bound by the schoolhouse rock customs and norms” that make up the UniParty ecosystem.
They are choosing to work within the boundaries of that polluted ecosystem as they “fight” against an enemy that doesn’t recognize any boundaries.
In my opinion, that makes these men useless. Until they CHOOSE to leave the comfort of those boundaries and take the fight beyond the “sternly worded letter” approach, they will remain useless.
They must choose to fight an asymmetrical war against our enemies because that is the only path to victory.
“In my opinion, that makes these men useless. Until they CHOOSE to leave the comfort of those boundaries and take the fight beyond the “sternly worded letter” approach, they will remain useless.”
Chickenshit was the word I had in mind, but useless works too.
If on DJT could duplicate himself in the spot of AG and FBI Director!!!!
If we did indeed have a functioning constitutional republic those Senators would return to the customs and norms that actually work — the Appropriation Committee method of funding each agency on a case by case basis. Nothing stops an abuser like cutting of his allowance.
“. . . the Appropriation Committee method of funding each agency . . .” and thus, the reason behind the Democrat party’s need for the government shutdown.
And the repeal of the 17th Amendment.
The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. The “Patriot Act” is in direct violation of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution. Yet these people continue to vote to extend this unconstitutional law. They need to be put on the record to answer why.
If I hear “coming down the escalator” one more time, I’m gonna strangle someone. Maybe this will finally get them p.o.’d enough to actually do something. ( When the cows come home from the slaughterhouse. )
Has Lindsey Graham made a statement about this issue yet?
Have any of these ‘targeted’ Senators said anything along the lines of; “If they have done this to Congress, what have they done to normal every day people?” Will there be investigations into that’?
Great question, the answer is obvious. They are doing it to all of us.
Sunshine is all good and dandy but when is anyone, ANYONE going to be held accountable? And NO, Comey being indicted and handled by a judge who used to work for him doesn’t count. Sunshine with no accountability = End of Constitutional Republic.
I remember that prior to receiving large amounts of information on the vaccine injuries from the mRNA injections, Senator Johnson had said he was so disgusted with the way Washington, D.C. works that he was not going to run for re-election and instead chose to run as well as hold the series of Congressional oversight panels to give voice to the physicians, researchers, and individuals harmed by the injections.
His recent re-election was a fierce battle by the far left of his home State, and am very glad he was able to win as he has certainly shown the tenacity to stick with something because it needs to be stuck with and deep dives taken to keep the topic alive long enough for the people in general to start to see what is purposefully being hidden.
Now that he has a buddy in this process, Senator Schmitt, maybe they will do as President Trump is doing, use the much battered norms of how our government is supposed to work, for example during all the lawfare against candidate, then President, then candidate-again Trump, he let the legal system stand on its own two feet and has won in the courts, so let’s see if these two Senators are able to wield the proper footing, and teeth, our Founding Fathers built into the congressional system.
We either have a Republic or we do not and the only way to find out if we still have a republic is to use the system that created it. Ugly as it is these days, it seems to be the only way to truly keep it. To attempt any other method gives solid footing for that fundamental change the Kenyan promised to usher in.
It seems unlikely to me that the Arctic Frost wire taps were simply executed without FBI/DOJ going to a friendly judge to sign the warrant. THAT is the person the Senators need to subpoena and target for removal.
They also have the power to subpoena Smith, Wray, Garland, and others. The performative theatrics of screaming at Blondi and Ca$h are pointless. Subpoena the people who committed the crime. Biden’s “preemptive pardons” haven’t been challenged in court, and a preemptive pardon does not protect the criminals for perjury and obstruction in a current investigation.
The best and most effective lesson is a hard lesson, a letter won’t cut it.
Spying on those Senators was ILLEGAL.
So some people got fired? Whoop whoop.
Where are the indictments?
Strongly worded letters are warm vomit. These weasels have so much dirt on each other. MAD terrifies them. The 3-letter mafia manipulates this mutually assured destruction to blackmail and as a shield.
Even a direct meteor impact like Trump is not enough to fix Congress, neutralize K street and eradicate global tentacles.
This sort of thing must be cut out at its roots, or everyone will continue to be a target. (As they now are.) The entire FISA system – the “702’s.” Even some of the data-gathering capabilities that we’ve grown so fond of. It’s a violation of the Fourth Amendment to track and record forever the exact geophysical location of every American (who’s carrying a cell phone …). It’s also a tremendous waste of resources. We don’t need to be driving by license-plate scanners, to record the cars who aren’t “phoning home” already. And, so on.
These Senators were certainly among many, many others who were “targeted.” And the simple reason for it is that it is possible. Until those practices and the enabling laws are revoked, they will continue.
For example: “the PATRIOT Act.” The granddaddy of them all. Repeal(!) the sucker and replace it. It’s a really, really bad law. That’s something that these individuals can actually do.
Senator Blackburn is running for Gov of TN. I already complained. Senators cannot run things; they are talkers. Being Gov or President takes leadership and action. Blackburn is working on “a strongly worded letter”. People like Blackburn just do not understand leadership.
Miz Marsha needs to throw in a little victimization for the fundraising mailers. Publicity and it brings in more money from the feelzys crowd.
So the selected Senators are insulted and feel violated. Understood. They are upset.
What about the other 350 million citizens ……. the rest of us?
When are all of us going to feel violated?
It is time.
Show me one honest patriot inside the beltway besides POTUS? I can wait.
I nominate Stephen Miller.
It is not their job to demand accountability. It is their job to enforce accountability and to punish government agencies which break the law. Slash the FBI budget by 50% and they’ll get accountability.
I am sorely tired of hollow Congressional jawboning about what must be done and then nothing happens. With all the prima facie evidence that exists alone yet no indictments, administration after administration! The good guys don’t win. Jesus will call them home soon and only the evil will be left. Come Jesus come!!
They might not be able to go with Jesus – something about “they have unfinished business here.”
Amen!
I’m with you Sundance. I’ve over it. Over all of it. Not a single “trustworthy” politican because once they get into “the system” and accept it, they are no longer for the American people. They are for their own survival and they gaslight themselves into thinking they are doing all they can, etc.
Heads should be rolling everywhere, from the top to the bottom of our government. Some say, oh well, we can’t just fire everyone! Yes you can. Private companies do it all the time. It’s called a RIF. America really can operate without the grifters who tax us to death and get rich while in office. I’d be happy if the entire government was wittled down to their one most important job and that is the common defense.
I’m thrilled that the shutdown is ongoing because Trump is getting some vacancies filled that he wants, and everyone can see the ObamaCare and Welfare grifters quite clearly. Or, I hope so.
Kash has barely made any dents. So what, he fired the kneeling FBI folks… Sigh. Let’s see if Comey actually goes to jail.
“Legends in their own minds?”
Got it.
Why these senators?
What seems to be missing in our federal government design, is a DIRECT DAY TO DAY (POLICING) ROLE for WE THE PEOPLE.
When there is abuse at high levels, don’t expect Those Inside to hold Others Inside accountable.
There must be a Constant Revolving Cast of Citizens, selected at random, that can refer matters directly to a Jury of Citizen Peers.
And a similar pool, capable of recommending Line Item Vetoes. To implement the cuts that DOGE reveals.
Otherwise, we have fox guarding the hen house.
What we have ain’t working. And can’t work in this faster moving world.
I wish I could be more optimistic about Kash Patel
Funny that they didn’t give 2 shits until it was them in the crosshairs.
Whenever there are systematic violations, they cannot be stamped out just by finding and punishing the violators.
You have to change the whole system. Otherwise the same old system is going to produce a whole new batch of violators making the same old problems.
Actions like subpoenaing the telephone records of Senators who were present for the Electoral Vote Count on January 6, 2021 was going to happen to those Senators most involved in the attempt to OBJECT to the Certificates of Ascertainment of submitted by the governors of Arizona, New Mexico, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Georgia. There were Senators on that list that were actively involved in the movement to file Objections to those Certificates of Ascertainment from those states.
Here is part a post I made on this thread on this site this morning:
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2025/09/27/president-trump-calls-out-fbi-for-placing-274-agents-in-j6-crowd-demands-to-know-who-they-were/
Now, we have that out of the way. So what do we have left? Well, we have Mitch McConnell using the legal term “insurrection” right off the bat as Sundance himself so states:
Roughly six hours later, McConnell got his way. Cowed by the crowd of largely peaceful Americans allowed into the building by Capitol police, most Republican senators backed off the audit proposal. McConnell, echoing hyperbolic talking points about an “insurrection” seeded earlier in the day by Democratic lawmakers and the news media, gloated. “They tried to disrupt our democracy,” he declared on the Senate floor after Congress reconvened around 8 p.m. “This failed attempt to obstruct Congress, this failed insurrection, only underscores how crucial the task before us is for our Republic.”
We have a clue here about how McConnell and his friends shut down the debate over the proposed 10 days of delay: Striking fear into Republicans (which has NEVER been a difficult task for Democrats) to drop the five planned debates over the 10 days of delay proposal. Not that millions of Americans would spend time listening to those debates. Many in here did not even know two such debates took place.
The application of the allegation of INSURRECTION had to be created, as I pointed before in earlier posts. The ability to accuse REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS OF INSURRECTION had to be accomplished by either the pipe bombs or the riot or both. It works like this:
IF you were active in trying to secure debates for the 10 days of delay in the work of the Joint Session to certify Biden’s election
THEN you automatically become a SUSPECT in the plot to launch the insurrection.
This is a clue as to why certain “sitting Senators” had their telephone records subpoenaed by Jack Smith. This also gives us a clue as to why Smith did not charge Trump with violating the Rebellion and Insurrection Act, but with formulating a type of confidence scheme to hijack the Electoral Vote Count with no GOP lawmakers charged. Smith was looking for verification that there were many telephonic communications with Senators like Johnson, who was part of the effort behind the Swing State Objections. Smith was looking for a way to create a sweeping Insurrection plot between Trump and his White House staff, his reelection staff and certain Senators/Representatives. GOP Senators and House members who originally supported the Objections, backed off to avoid becoming targets of any future criminal investigations once Biden inevitably became President, according to Sundance’s words, “doomed to failure,” as noted above.
