This is one reason I attend Native American pow wows. Because to start off the dancing, there is a Grand Entry in which the American flag as well as the flags for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, POWs as well as the eagle staff are carried into the dance arena and placed in the center of the arena for the duration of the pow wow. As well, veterans are honored and thanked.

I’m in the middle of a battle right now and was right on the verge of a pity party, until I talked with a good friend who reminded me of what I KNOW to be true and to draw my eyes back to that…and then this popped up on CTH!

I could use a special touch too, Jay. I have not had a pain free day since December 1989 when a car made a left-hand hand turn in front of me so quickly that there was no time for brakes. They believe the seat belt that saved me from serious steering wheel injuries, snapped my 5th lumbar. I was 35 years old with a 4 month old baby, my miracle child that I was never supposed to have.
I won’t go into the cascading effects this has had on my life except to say that, after the spinal fusion that left my spine slightly curved and my pelvic tilted, my knees were shot in my 50s and, even though I didn’t stop working until I was almost 60, I have never given up on getting better. At 71, I no longer gave my own beautiful knees, a spinal stimulator in my low back, and I have to get injections in my hips every 4 months because that @#$%ing tilt didn’t just cost me my knees, it has inflamed the little sacks, called bursis, around my hips, particularly the left hip. This is the worst pain I have ever felt.
Three months ago, the injections stopped working. I am waiting for the results from xrays to find out why. I am overwhelmed. It could be a fracture, or the injections themselves could have eaten my hip bone away, and the hospital is so far behind on reading films that I have been waiting over a week with no answer.
I am in agony, I can barely walk, and I grieved Charlie in the middle of all of this.
I need prayers, please.

I couldn’t walk for almost a year (in 1978 right after my Dad died) and couldn’t even sit up (I had to eat lying down, propped up with my elbow). I remember one night hugging my pillow trying not to scream because of the pain. My mom took me to four doctors and each one, after a while, would just tell me they were sorry they couldn’t help me. An old man in the neighbood (Alhambra, California) and his brother had come to know an old Japanese acupuncturist from Kyoto and they started taking me into Hollywood to have treatments. After four months, I was pretty much back to normal. So I would definitely recommend that you find a good TCM practitioner (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and try acupuncture. They usually get patients that doctors haven’t been able to help. Also, I am starting a class soon with Ofer Niv on healing. You might want to investigate his services, he is a very special man with very good credentials in that field. God Bless You. Oh, btw, I had flash that suggested you change your name “badlass”. Words have meaning, and since you are suffering, you might want to distance yourself from any association with negativity. Yes, on one level it’s all fun and games…but there are other levels in this life as you have obviously found. Nothing could be finer than to hear back that you have recovered and are well and out of pain!!!

My cook my dogs food, the main ingredient is grass fed organic ground meat. They also drink the raw milk.

Believe me the good life and good people are out there. Never have we talked and laughed and shared so much with total strangers. It was a nostalgic fun trip down memory lane!
Yes indeedy birdie. There is an abundance of good people out there, all across this beautiful country! Just returned from a 40 day road trip from Pa to Co and back. People were all kind, respectful, and friendly to both me and my husband. We traveled through Pittsburgh, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, to Loveland Colorado for an art show (I was participating.) Then we traveled back through Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, and back to Pennsylvania. We wanted to check the pulse of our beloved country, for ourselves. Glad we did. Recommend it for anyone who can. God has truly blessed our nation. Pray, put on the full armor of God, and live your best life,

And the whole town shut down by 4:00 or 5:00 PM Saturday in preparation for Sunday being a day of rest. (Well, fortunately the Italian restaurant was open …) Thanks for posting and bringing back some of my memories too!
I went there some years ago. I knew there was a real Pilot Mountain, but I didn’t know it had that unusual flat top to it. Very beautiful part of the country, good people too.

I have a pair of Great Pyrenees that keep me smiling and make all the difference in my quality of life. They hug me and mind me and help me up if I need it. I’d be lost without my puppies.

Fell exceptionally blessed at the moment-Darling daughter that had the J & J jab and her husband who had Moderna and booster (military) just delivered a ridiculously healthy beautiful baby boy last week! Everyone is healthy and perfect, and all newborn jabs and ointments were refused by them! My prayers were answered.
