After passing a clean CR in the House, Republicans in the Senate are pushing a “clean” seven-week continuing resolution, which they say will buy time for more negotiations on full-year spending bills and possibly an extension of expiring health insurance subsidies. Democrats, meanwhile, wrote an alternative four-week punt that tacks on a laundry list of other demands, including a permanent extension of the insurance subsidies.
Should the government shut down, Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought will determine which elements and agencies of the government are considered essential and which will be shuttered until the budget is extended.

Of course the Democrats lie about everything and the RINOs in Congress are little better, especially when it comes to things important to the Uniparty.

When the States hold their first Constitutional Convention to enact Amendments that Congress will not do, the first should be to mandate that Congress must pass a budget, and that Government must adhere to it.
We have had “Continuing Resolutions” for decades now, and the key word is “Continuing.” In other words, all the “pork” from last time is magically “re-authorized.” And we repeatedly see this extortion gamesmanship, holding the entire Government operation hostage.
Perhaps we should just do without these “non-essential” services for three months: “most of the Government is closed.” That will show us clearly just how much of it we actually need.

I support reversing the healthcare cuts which will fall hard on poor U.S. citizens who become sick and subsequently let go by their employer discovering they have no access to subsidized healthcare, neither Medicaid nor the ACA marketplace. The same will occur for poor U.S. citizens in between jobs who are stricken. Only when they enter the late stage of serious frailty or total disability can they then apply for some aid.
2 Thessalonians 3:10 has a context. Saint Paul highlighted that God expects every Christian who CAN work to do so in speaking to a people living in a busy port city in a 1st century environment where manual work was plentiful for everyone with the ability to work that needed it. Saint Paul wasn’t telling the church to stop feeding totally disabled people because they can’t work so they can’t eat. It has to be possible.
He also wouldn’t have advocated that when a poor worker is stricken with serious debilitating medical problems and let go from their job, God demands that they be denied subsidized healthcare. Even poor sick people who aren’t considered hirable by employers continue to work in helping their families with some even part-time self employed making very little but doing what they can. However, this doesn’t meet the GOP bill requirement which means they get no healthcare assistance and are barred from obtaining such assistance. You have to drive the wealth of the monied interests who control the politicians to have any value to them. Poor people who get sick and are let go from their jobs because of it simply don’t drive that wealth anymore so they are considered by those interests disposable.
It’s actually worse because the entire playing field is badly marred. No one is hiring these people or going to hire them in this new world of offshored industries, outsourced work to foreign firms, and mass immigration to the tune that as of the May 2025 BLS report 19.2% of the entire civilian workforce in the U.S. is foreign born.
Selling out U.S. workers has been an elitist game for a long time but the modern era of selling out U.S. workers in our lifetime originates with ex-CIA director and Skull and Bones “Order 322” member George H. W. Bush’s NAFTA creation which, of course, Bill Clinton was happy to ratify into law. But that’s a long story which best deserves an article rather than a blog post so I won’t digress.
All of that aside; in my opinion the Democrat Party disconnected from God (as He is), fell into depravity, and hasn’t told the truth in almost a decade. Meaning, that I can’t trust a word they say. So when the Senate Democrat minority leader comes with a bicameral legislation proposal; it’s not just about correcting what will soon reveal itself to be a real GOP healthcare misstep (after 2026) with poor Republican and independent voters. Their purpose is as corrupt as their depravity. Their proposal contains a wide range of measures (many alleged to be unconstitutional) solely to counter President Trump’s administration actions. Read their proposal for yourself if you wish. My opinion is that is their actual primary intent. It’s a Homerian “Trojan Horse.”
