Interesting take on the Amazon book about Charlie’s shooting. I suspected it was AI written, but I didn’t know you could back date the publication. In the book, Charlie survives.
AI could certainly explain the raw mechanical speed required to compile a 69-page book that quickly (24-36 hours)… but that doesn’t answer the Sep 9 publish date. BTW, I took a dozen screenshots of the Amazon and Wayback pages earlier yesterday, then as I was leaving the house for a little jaunt around the woods I thought I should just purchase the $6 Kindle book and read through it… maybe there’s some interesting clues in there, etc. By the time I got back to the house, the book had been removed. In any event, if you buyt a Kindle book and Amazon later removes the book, it disappears from your library. Back in the day you could download the book locally, and if you knew what you were doing (which I did), convert it to PDF. I think recently Amazon removed the ability to download local copies.
I took screenshots too.
But like I said, it’s possible to backdate the publication, especially if it was something that is essentially reissued or with previous publishing agreements or is made to appear that way. Amazon may want to prevent that going forward, especially since now AI can vomit something out within hours.
It’s still gross and twisted to do something like that to try to make a buck. But here we are.
