23-year-old Iryna Zarutska fled the war in Ukraine in 2022; she came to the United States and lived in North Carolina. On August 22nd after finishing her shift at Zepeddie’s Pizza, a Charlotte North Carolina restaurant, she boarded a light rail train to head home.
While minding her own business and sitting on a seat scrolling her telephone, a career criminal named Decarlos Brown Jr (35), took a knife out of his pocket, stood up behind Ms Zarutska and then plunged the knife into her neck and throat. Iryna Zarutska bleed to death on the spot. She was killed for being white.
Ms Zarutska survived a war zone only to end up dead on a train in North Carolina as a result of political correctness and leftist urban policies that allow criminals to roam the streets looking for their next victim. The media has been largely silent on the attack, and Charlotte’s democrat Mayor has thanked the media for not sharing the story.
After killing Ms. Zarutska, Decarlos Brown Jr. walked to the front of the train, took off his bloodied hoodie, then walked away from the train. Brown was later arrested again; this is the fourteenth time he was arrested.

One of the dumbest things about North Carolina’s education funding is that it isn’t localized. It’s a state wide
pool of money. One size fits all.
My family back home was telling me about a family friend that was transferred to Charlotte. They immediately
sent their middle school son back home to live with relatives in suburban Dayton after living in the area a few
months. They had moved to an absolutely beautiful area, but between the way the funding was handled, left over
bussing in the area, and reports of school violence, they knew there was no way they’d send their kid to school there.
At what point will people realize government-controlled indoctrination centers are not a good idea? If you want something done right, do it yourself or at least pay for it yourself.
Another reason why there is a huge thriving population of homeschoolers in the greater Charlotte metro area. Not sure what it is now, but it was 7% of the school age population when I lived there 15 years ago.

Find a good church (preferably one of 500 or fewer people so you don’t get lost in the crowd). and get involved in an activity there- Bible study, food bank, even parking team would be a good start. If there are not opportunities to get plugged in and build a community, you’re at the wrong church. Don’t give up! It did happen fast, but you mention situational awareness. A person trained in concealed carry would be practicing situational awareness most especially in a public transit situation like this. We can never know, of course, whether a good guy with a gun could have saved her. I couldn’t help but notice the two people sitting across the aisle. I also couldn’t help but notice that there were empty seats at the back of the car where your back wouldn’t be exposed and you would have a clear view forward. Kind of reminds me of how I refuse to sit with my back to the door at a restaurant or other public venue.
Always scan when entering any enclosure….

Pick a safe area with as much visibility as you can….
Preferably close to an exit…

I’m not going to say why she was here in the first place but for the moment, we call her a refugee. But there are many women still in Ukraine and most of them there aren’t looking to leave because it’s dangerous. They are looking for American men. How many times have you heard about an ex-con who reoffends shortly after release? Our system assumes prison is always a deterrent and punishment. But what if there are people outside prison who aren’t evil or murderous or even inclined towards violence? How many convicted criminals commit their crimes for the primary purpose of getting a ticket to live in prison where they have housing and food security, a space of their own, a place in a social order, TVs libraries, heat and air conditioning and a reliable routine?
What if people were allowed to check themselves into prison and live there without having to commit crimes to get there. What if there was a program where you could say “I want to live in prison and if stay on the streets I’m going to reoffend so I can keep coming back” and, instead of being released on their own recognizance, they could be incarcerated on their own recognizance. I’ll bet prison population would go up and crime would go down.

I came of age in the 60’s. Our state insane asylum had 12,000 inpatients. “Reforms” in psychiatry and involuntary commitment law reduced that number to literally zero. IMHO, they are the majority of “homeless” now.
In that same era you could get (and often would get) 10 to 20 years for B&E, and get death for rape. No longer, they are back on the street the next day to reign terror on the innocent.
We lived free of fear back then.
I don’t doubt some reform was needed, but we have taken it to a world upside down.

Regarding the death penalty for rape: If someone knows that he is going to get the death penalty for rape which is the same penalty for murder then rapists will just go ahead and murder their victim/witness.

Year by year numbers fluctuate, but the trend since 1980 has seen 500-600 white people murdered by black people each year.
During that same time period white people have murdered 200-250 black people per year.
Of course, those numbers do not reflect the astronomical number of black people murdered by other black people.
The vast majority of those black murderers are young males between 12-30 years of age.

There’s also the factor that whites make up a much larger percent of the population and that Hispanics are usually counted as white if they are the perpetrator and non-white if they are the crime victim in FBI statistics.
The biggest tell is rape stats they show an insane pattern of targeting whites for violence -there are years when there are no reports of white on black rape while tens of thousands of white women are the victims of black on white assault.

These violent crimes against the white race as well as judges who appear to have no *empathy*, no *connection* to actual human suffering is a national emergency. She exhibited perfectly normal behavior, but normal behavior carries extra risk these days. That is the degree to which leftist policies have corroded public order, and we must accept things as they are, not as we wish them to be. We cannot be complacent and assume normal choices will result in normal outcomes in abnormal periods.

During Covid I took BART (subway) from San Francisco through Oakland, at night. Oakland by some markers is more dangerous than Detroit.
The first stop under the Bay is West Oakland. I’m a bigger dude but the years are advancing. Two young BM with full black face masks got on the near empty train, and one sat directly behind me. Quite similar to this situation.
I had a quick debate in my head. Do I stay, do I move, do I show fear?
I stood up, stretched, and moved 4′ forward to the inward facing seat – where I could have a view if they came at me.

A retired professor friend comes to town once a month, and recently has taken to staying in a sketchy area in Oakland. He’s had at least two deranged BMs threaten violence.
Democrat policies have made Oaktown worse. Large illegal immigrant community pushing African Americans out. 40,000 abandoned cars. Graffiti everywhere- on mail boxes, postal trucks all heavily tagged, stores, even the curbs- the curbs! – tagged.
Worse: Democrats and Newsom LEGALIZED STREETWALKING IN LINGERIE, BIKINIS, ETC. So hookers will stand on stretch corners, block the street, or walk down the middle of The Blade – a section of International Blvd – in broad daylight, sucking on a lollipop. Marijuana smell is pervasive.

In my life, a very good, stark contrast occurred between before versus after using my free will to sincerely reach-out to Jesus/God, ask forgiveness of my sins, repent, invite him to come into my heart and guide my life.
