Vanguard does not own anything …. the COMPANY is a BROKER for the EQUITY OWNERS (Share and Bond Holders) of the Companies who’s stocks they sell, trade and broker.

For those who invest passively (think index funds like Vanguard’s S&P 500 ETF, VOO) a portion of their investment goes into all the companies of the S&P 500 (e.g. Apple and Microsoft). Ditto for BlackRock and State Street. While these firms don’t directly control the companies they invest in, they do have considerable voting power. Through proxy voting, Vanguard, BlackRock, and State Street make decisions on behalf of their fund investors during corporate elections, such as voting on board members or executive compensation. Personnel is policy as they say.
Therefore, a relatively small group of people at these firms are making decisions on behalf of millions of shareholders. While they aren’t running the companies directly, this voting power gives them a level of influence over corporate governance that deserves attention.

For those newer people unfamiliar with The Still Hour, I believe it came about as a way for our wonderful poster Stillwater to have a special place for the prayers which used to appear in the Daily Presidential Thread and it’s really nice for those of us who like to check out the prayers but not interrupt the flow of the Daily Presidential Thread. I post a comment with regard to praying the rosary on things and found a youtube video for praying the entire rosary (20 decades) at a time but just the usual five for a designated day (such as the Glorious Mysteries on a Sunday) is also good! Or just to know about it, that Mary will crush the head of the serpent is a good thing to know!

Whenever I have seen one of those White House events take place in the Rose Garden, I have wondered how ladies manage with their heels which must certainly sink down and make walking difficult and how do people fare that rely upon walkers, canes and wheelchairs who would be there to attend an event? It is certainly an improvement to pave the area where people are seated and walking to and from the seating area. Plus I rather imagine our wonderful President and the First Lady will see to it that there will be the loveliest roses.

According to open source intelligence, ERAMs have a range of 250 miles. However, that is the range once launched by an aircraft. Washington says it opposes Ukrainian missile attacks on Russian territory, and while it is restricting the use of long range HIMARS, it is not restricting the use of ERAM. Reportedly ERAM carried a 500 lb. warhead, far larger than any Ukrainian UAV and more than double any of the different HIMARS missiles (M31 Utility Warhead, ATACMS warhead). My youngest granddaughter turned six today. For the past 18 months, she’s been working on a weekly basis with a speech therapist thanks to the damnable masks. Today was the first day in her entire life that I understood every word she was saying. The conversation had to end early because she gets very tired making the effort to clearly enunciate her words.

The Trump administration notified eight employees of their termination on Friday following their decision to sign a letter dissenting from current policies at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Associated Press reports.
“The Environmental Protection Agency has a zero-tolerance policy for career officials using their agency position and title to unlawfully undermine, sabotage, and undercut the will of the American public that was clearly expressed at the ballot box last November,” the EPA said in a statement after the administrative leave notices were sent, according to The Washington Post, who first reported the firings.
