Gonna be interesting with the 600,000 lb Chinese gorilla in the room…
Well, that will be a welcome relief from hearing about all of the indictments/arrests of the Co-Conspirators that planned and carried out the coup against President Trump…
So much for America FIRST! Can’t quite understand how 600,000 china students help us Mr. President….(????)
Because the Ivy League lunacy brainwashing mills will send them back to Mainland China woke as hell, lazy, entitled, with useless, unmarketable degrees, hating their parents and looking to annihilate their babies.
And you thought Tiananmen Square was a problem for them? Better than Reagan sabotaging all that tech we let the Soviets ‘steal’ in the 80s.
Besides, someone has to pay for all those gold-plated college administration jobs and endless benefits. China can pay for all that useless nonsense.
Our American kids can learn how to be electricians, plumbers and be able to change a flat tire, fix a machine, and raise a family in a Christian way. And be economically and physically self-sufficient like their grandparents and great grandparents were.
They’ll be worth their weight in gold in a few more years when these college nothings get replaced by AI and are unable to change a light bulb.
How many Chinese students are actually in the woke unmarketable majors? Seems like most if not all of them are enrolled in STEM and business programs and not in the social sciences or any of the rest of that rot. Granted that the STEM and business programs also have a good bit of woke that has crept in, but not nearly to the degree social sciences and the rest have. And in the degree programs that actually are marketable they are crowding out American students to a considerable degree, and this isn’t limited to the Ivy League but to virtually very other university in the country as well.
The above was mainly tongue in cheek as to the details.
But the underlying premise of the post remains. College today is overrated. The paths to an effective education are much greater today than a university campus.
A traditional college education is highly overrated, and grossly overpriced, in 2025. It is a holdover cultural brass ring from the 1940s and 1950s, when such credentials conferred a true higher education, and were the pride of working class families as a ladder to upward mobility.
Except intelligence and the true core skills of learning and education, at any level, are acquired right at home.
Most of the information available to college students today is accessible via the Internet. It is not barricaded away in university libraries, labs and study halls as it was 40+ years ago.
Most entry level STEM-based and traditional engineering positions are going to be replaced with AI in the next 5-7 years. Sad, but true.
Learn a trade, develop real world skills, and build a business. You’ll tend to earn as much as a college brat, and your job, financial position, and outlook on the world will be much more realistic and stable.
And I say that as someone with several advanced post-graduate degrees from back in the day.
A traditional college education is not what it once was. Learning how to become productive and responsible adults has somehow been lost in the shuffle.
I saw a statistic the other day that the percentage of 30 year olds who were married and owned a home is now down to nearly 10%. In my day, when the majority of young adults did NOT go to college, the percentage was close to 70%. A college education is not enriching these kids today like it once did.
Yep… Entered Texas U in 1962… “Matriculation Fee” was $25.50 per semester… Matriculation fee covered tuition, passes to all ball games and most University functions… Had to buy your own text books and pay room and board…
Today’s college “loans” were not available then, but were not really needed… If your folks didn’t have the $$$ to pay your expenses, you got a job…
Most of us worked… I waited on tables at a restaurant out on Lake Travis for 3 years to pay my expenses… That was a big part of my education…
I enlisted in the Navy after graduating from high school. Learned a trade that served me well for the remainder of my working career.
<Can’t quite understand how 600,000 china students help us…>
You’re right…
It could put a chink in our armor 🙂
Mandarin Orange Man Bad
Unless we nip it in the bud.
Lol. One of your best Wordman.
Ask Northwestern. They are stacked with students from China.
Oo…
Sum Tin Wong?
Wi Tu Lo?
It is always such a pleasure to read your applications of the English language, WORDMAN.
I offer a toast to the ever increasing slope of your influence.
I see what you did there! Were you in S.E. Asia in Vietnam campaign years?
It’s likely a negotiation gambit. Take a risk and give China something (600K student visas.) Look to get something in return. Catching flies with sugar not just vinegar.
Gobsmacked I am.
The University of Illinois admits more Chinese students to the College of Engineering than they do residents from that state.
I graduated from a university noted both for medical and the research and engineering sciences. I was in the humanities, which was much smaller.
My friends and I had a running joke that if during the add/drop period, you notice a preponderance of Chinese students in a class drop it and find something more attuned to Western philosophy of thought.
I was an art history major, valedictorian of my department, so I wasn’t intimidated by
intelligent classmates.
I felt then and I feel now, that our perspectives on life and civilization are not compatible.
I must admit one of the most fascinating and enjoyable classes I took during those four years was taught by a young visiting professor from China who taught Classical Chinese Literature.
It was further evidence that there is a cultural divide that, in my opinion, will never be reconciled.
Multi Culti Diversity long pushed as a strength is anything but.
Notice which allegiance comes first in any description of people who belong to a specific nationality.
Name your nationality <dash> American…
Where do their loyalties lie.
Purposeful division with this will never produce a cohesive society.
And will in fact go a long way to destroying it.
It is a great civil engineering school.
Look at the beautiful and functional infrastructure being built in China. It’s our knowledge and research that is being given to China.
From a humanitarian perspective, it’s all good.
Soon it’ll be Eastern Indians instead of Chinese if and when JD Vance and handlers get more influence….
the chinese come to learn train and build >> not wokeness
they will keep STEM field rational?
Don’t you mean the 600,000 pound Panda?
Folks, enjoy your days in the Time of Trump. It is like no other, and there will not be another.
This is very true.
Prayed for by millions upon millions.
Prayers answered.
Counting blessings…
And it is “ticking away”…. Down to 3yrs 5 months now…
The price for rare earth magnets?
They are making so much more than “magnets” from rare earth minerals.
These materials are used in countless electrical components, many in defense, communications, computers, etc.
Mr. President I support you 100%, but “Warp Speed” and it’s vax-related deadly fallout is a huge stain on your legacy. Regardless if/who/what precipitated the decisions to force it upon us.
Many great people have a stain or two on their legacy.
So. Psycho Monkee were you a member of 12 Monkeys.
Disrespectful Mr. Wood. I speak for my deceased Mother and those fellow “Greatest Generation” souls who were swindled and then succumbed to the clot shot.
Not disrespectful to say and neither was the delivery, imo. How was anyone to who you were speaking for? Not that loved ones dying means lessons-learned discussion should not be engaged and labeled disrespectful. President Trump is easy to blame. It is painful to within ourselves and realize we did not protect our aging parents. Many did not embrace their parent’s legacy to stand up and fight for family and country. How many died alone because their children did not bust them out of the nursing homes? Did not keep them from the shot? Did not even tell them the dangers they were hearing about the shot (and even rejected as truth)? Most elderly in nursing homes, before covid, could have been taken care of at home if family willing to sacrifice. This is not a judgement but instead of thinking, “What if PDJT did this or that…,” the question should be, “What could I have done differently………if I woulda shoula coula?”
Since hindsight is the only exacting science, there is no place for guilt with one’s self or for those you perceive as responsible. It is uncomfortable speaking these things but only respect makes it shared. And, dang, the comment you say was disrespectful perfectly makes the point: President Trump no more to blame for the clot shot deaths than Psycho Monkee is a member of 12 Monkeys.
President Trump never supported forcing the shot. The operating usurping government did that via their institutional controls. Hindsight and all we now know of the IC Globalists makes this perfectly clear.
I believe Trump didn’t know at that time.
Fear porn was sewn by the MSM and government(s) within the public, 24/7. The public ate it up as they demanded a ‘savior’ in the form of a ‘vaccine’.
Trump said what he could, speaking the truth and was heavily chastised. Remember “Bleach”? Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine?
If Trump did not support some sort of vaccine for the public he would have been ridden out of town.
Hopefully he knows different now.
You are right Smitty.
My complaint is that the President still brings up Warp Speed as a major accomplishment when he should just let it lie.
He was between a rock and a hard place. He needed to reopen the economy and free the population from lockdown. He did what he had to do, although the result had a definite down side.
Not only did Trump not know at the time the problems with the vax, but Pfizer and Moderna both conspired to delay announcing their vaccines until after the November 2020 election because they did not want Trump to get credit.
Trump was unfairly denied the credit. Now people want to heap the blame.
Fauci and his evil minions are to blame as the MSM drove the bus into the cliff. Trump was lied to by the people he then trusted to assist China virus
They all should hang
Rambling……Rambling Man……
Save the Whales!
cesium in shrimp from Asia.
Save American Fisheries–RFK
Americans now will get their own social media files from Big Tech–big!
Autism report coming in September!
Save the Whales from Chinese Windmills!
These Cabinet meetings are amazing!
Its the Company Staff Meeting.
All of this dictator talk is weird. Yesterday, and now today.
It’s not funny. You cannot spin it. And it just provides Democrats with endless sound bites and campaign ads. It’s already started.
Is that all you got here? The Hitler attack? That failed last year, bigly.
The 1980s just called, and wants their generic leftist talking point back.
Speaking of last year, how come Biden had to drop out last year in favor of a drunk? All your media liars told us for years he was so sharp.
Turned out he was a drooling vegetable, and a pack of zealots was issuing unlawful pardons with his autopen.
Yikes!
Don’t bring your daddy issues to me.
President Trump is the one who has brought up “dictator” several times now over the past 24 hours. If you have a problem with it being a “talking point”, take it up with him, not me.
Biden hasn’t been President since last year. What does he have to do with President Trump’s comments?
Why do I know that the U.S. is secretly giving the money to NATO so they can buy the weapons from us to give to Ukraine. Kinda like a money laundering in reverse scheme!
There’s no way the Europeans are paying for the weapons with their own money because…
A: Europeans are notoriously cheap especially Germans.
B: The Europeans are broke.
C: The Europeans know that President Trump doesn’t want to be blamed for a Russian victory!
I believe that President Trump is being mislead on AI in a similar way he was mislead on the covid vaccine.
A small number of people were massively enriched by the covid actions but many impoverished.
Is this going to happen when companies believe AI is going to be magic wand for their businesses?
Where is the cost benefit analysis of forcing AI on companies across the country?
Where is the huge supply of energy needed for AI?
When is AI worth using and when not?
Where has AI been a dismal failure?
typo misled not mislead.
From BabylonBee:
“President Donald Trump enacted a plan to dumb down the Chinese population by inviting them to attend American universities.”
Operation warp speed was instigated by frauds advising President Trump.
It is high time that someone like Dr Atlas explains to the president how people he trusted deceived him. Had the USA followed the example of Sweden and depended on the earliest information from Italy they would have gone down a different path and saved many lives and prevented the economic harms to many small businesses and individuals.
My son and I were discussing these matters early in 2020 more than 6 months before the Great Barrington Declaration. Our friends were very angry when we raised out concerns. We have been vindicated but they have not apologized yet.
I did not get the jab, and have family members i think may have been harmed by it.
However, Operation warp speed encompassed many areas. Scott Atlas exposed many wrongs during the pandemic…
But he continually praised Trump’s achievement with Operation Warp Speed.
From the beginning, through his resignation letter, and even in his book.

Thanks I need to read up on this but I was under the impression that certain key people who had too much influence did all they could to drown out the sensible advice of Dr Atlas.
Oh, you are correct on that. All the way.
Atlas was a thorn in their corrupt side…and Trump loved him. Trump even sidelined Fauci after Atlas was brought in. He became Trump’s main advisor. Policy became much more sensible after that, too.
The vax (mostly developed during Trump’s Adm) wan’t actually released until Trump was on his way out the door, though. There were lies about it’s efficacy, testing, etc behind everyone’s back….but the roll out disaster is all Biden.
I think the problem is a centralized health information platform run by the CDC/Federal government. It needs to be closed down.
What the USA should have done was follow the Constitution and our federal system. The counties and states – those governments closer to the people – would have figured things out a lot quicker and would have had an agenda focused on self-preservation. This is largely what POTUS embraced. The problem was Fauci and scarf-lady and WHO and all the other high-level bureaucrats stepping all into the picture, all over themselves, all over POTUS… the whole thing was a textbook example of Soviet-style incompetence. You have so much money consolidated in the hands of the CDC, FDA budgets that the agenda quickly turns to $$$$’s vs governance.
The states are our incubators for quickly figuring things out. Somebody at a clinic in Baton Rouge and another in Buffalo and another in Salt Lake, for example, discover protocals and treatments and collaborate across peers and providers and this would have been figured out quick. Instead, we had Fauci Birx et al dictating nonsense so their stock portfolios would soar and democrat governesses like Whitmer and Hochel making emotionally panicked tyranically-instinctive political decisions – it was all a recipe for lunacy, a made for prime-time Monty Python skit.
Let’s hope the contents of the burn bags, burns the deep state to a crisp.
Over three hours so far. Amazing!
TEST….
Wow!!
If you have time to watch that, a person can gain a sense what has been going on, and what may be going on.
3.5 hours of cabinet level communication – with public transparency, about a whole range of policies and current status reports.
Each cabinet member spoke.
The media was available, and asked some questions. (and the questions were more than ‘mr president (bran don), what is your favorite flavor of ice cream?’)
Plus, with the support of the american people,
there is A LOT more work to keep doing – for america.
imho
Bondi still cannot bring herself to say, “Mr. President” when she addresses the President… So disrespectful…..
period….
