At noon today, President Trump is scheduled to make an announcement from the oval office in the White House. Several people have speculated about the subject matter, but my suspicions are that this relates to the U.S-Canada trade status.
Perhaps the USMCA is officially opened for renegotiation; or perhaps the “elbows up” team has taken a knee. Regardless, that’s my guess about the subject of the announcement. Let’s watch together:

Growing up near the Canadian border and having a father with some French Canadian ethnic heritage who was interested in politics, I was made aware of Trudeau senior as a child. As for feather headdresses, depicting them is fine. As for actually wearing them at a pow wow, that may be another story. That whole damned idea struck me as completely idiotic. People don’t name sports teams for things they hold in contempt. They name them for people and animals and things they think show great power. This has been going on for a long time. The British occasionally named new Royal Navy vessels after particularly brave French vessels they had fought in battle.
People didn’t name teams “braves” or “warriors” because those groups of people were disdained. They named them after those groups because they were incredibly tough, extremely courageous and outstandingly good examples of determination for the young to emulate. The idea of removing those names because it was supposedly disrespectful to the indigenes in question is just ludicrous.
