HatTip to Ben for calling attention to this remarkable story.
Essentially China’s “Belt and Road” initiative is a system of China putting massive infrastructure investment funds into a targeted country in exchange for their ability to extract resources needed for Chinese expansion. However, several nations are now rising up against the Chinese influence as it surfaces in the lives of the citizens.
Angola is a case study in China investing billions and with the investment a large number of Chinese citizens arrive set up businesses there. Over time resentment against the Chinese has been building. Then a flashpoint with a massive jump in gas prices. Suddenly, anarchy erupts, and all the Chinese businesses are looted, some even killed in the violence.
[READ STORY HERE]
China is now evacuating some of the 300,000+ Chinese citizens from the region, and the Chinese embassy is urgently warning people about the escalating crisis.
Remember when Tunis erupted at the origin of the “Arab Spring”? That was a combined economic and cultural flashpoint. This escalating problem in Africa has a similar theme to it.
People often talk about the ‘strength’ of China’s economic model; and indeed within a specific part of their economy -manufacturing- they do have economic strength. However, the underlying critical architecture of the Chinese economic model is structurally flawed and President Trump with his current economic team understand the weakness better than all international adversaries.
Lets take a stroll and lightly discuss.
China is a central planning economy. Meaning it never was an outcropping of natural economic conditions. China was/is controlled as a communist style central-planning government; As such, it is important to reference the basic structural reality that China’s economy was created from the top down.
This construct of government creation is a key big picture distinction that sets the backdrop to understand how weak the economy really is.
Any nations’ economic model is only as stable (or strong) as the underlying architecture or infrastructure of the actual country.
Think about economic strength and stability this way: If a nation was economically walled off from all other nations, can it survive? …can it sustain itself?
In the big picture – economic strength is an outcome of the ability of a nation, any nation, to support itself first and foremost. If a nations’ economy is dependent on other nations’ for it to inherently survive it is less strong than a nation whose economy is more independent.
You might not realize it, but China is an extremely dependent nation.
When the central planning for the 21st century Chinese Economy was constructed, there were several critical cultural flaws, dynamics exclusive to China, that needed to be overcome in order to build their economic model. It took China several decades to map out a way to economic growth that could overcome the inherent critical flaws.
Critical Flaws To Exploit:
♦Because of the oppressive nature of the Chinese compliant culture, the citizens within China do not innovate or create. The “Compliance Mindset” is part of the intellectual DNA strain of a Chinese citizen.
Broadly speaking, the modern era Chinese are not able to think outside the box per se’ because the reference of all civil activity has been a history of box control by government, and compliance to stay (think) only within the approved box. The lack of intellectual thought mapping needed for innovation is why China relies on intellectual theft of innovation created by others.
American culture specifically is based around freedom of thought and severe disdain of government telling us what to do; THAT freedom is necessary for innovation. That freedom actually creates innovation.
Again, broadly speaking Chinese are better students in American schools and universities because the Chinese are culturally compliant. They work well with academics and established formulas, and within established systems, but they cannot create the formula or system themselves.
♦ The Chinese Planning Authority skipped the economic cornerstone. When China planned out their economic entry, they did so from a top-down perspective. They immediately wanted to be manufacturers of stuff. They saw their worker population as a strategic advantage, but they never put the source origination infrastructure into place in order to supply their manufacturing needs. China has no infrastructure for raw material extraction or exploitation.
China relies on: importing raw material, applying their economic skillset (manufacturing), and then exporting finished goods. This is the basic economic structure of the Chinese economy.
See the flaw?
Cut off the raw material, and the China economy slows, contracts, and if nations react severely enough with export material boycotts the entire Chinese economy implodes.
Insert big flashy sign for: “One-Belt / One-Road” HERE
Again, we reference the earlier point: Economic strength is the ability of a nation to sustain itself. [Think about an economy during conflict or war] China cannot independently sustain itself, therefore China is necessarily vulnerable.
China is dependent on Imports (raw materials) AND Exports (finished goods).
♦The 800lb Panda in the room is that China is arguably the least balanced economy in the modern world. Hence, China has to take extraordinary measures to secure their supply chain. This economic dependency is also why China has recently spent so much on military expansion etc., they must protect their vulnerable interests.
Everything important to the Chinese Economy surrounds their critical need to secure a strong global supply chain of raw material to import, and leveraged trade agreements for export.
China’s economy is deep (manufacturing), but China’s economy is also narrow.
China could have spent the time to create a broad-based economy, but the lack of early 1900’s foresight, in conjunction with their communist top-down totalitarian system and a massive population, led to central government decisions to subvert the bottom-up building-out and take short-cuts. Their population controls only worsened their long term ability to ever broaden their economic model.
It takes a population of young avg-skilled workers to do the hard work of building a raw material infrastructure. Mine workers, dredge builders, roads and railways, bridges and tunnels etc. All of these require young strong bodies. The Chinese cultural/population decisions amid the economic builders precluded this proactive outlook; now they have an aging population and are incapable of doing it.
This is why China has now positioned their economic system as dependent on them being an economic bully. They must retain their supply chain: import raw materials – export finished goods, at all costs.
This inherent economic structure is a weakness China must continually address through policies toward other nations. Hence, “One-Belt / One-Road” is essentially their ‘bully plan’ to ensure their supply chain and long-term economic viability.
This economic structure, and the reality of China as a dependent economic model, also puts China at risk from the effects of global economic contraction.

Geee. invest billions in countries where killing and genocide is the GOTO solution to problems and then act surprised when it happens.
What couyld possibly go wrong? There’s a reason the rest of the world steer clear of investing in African countries.
No. Not with the Chinese this time.
The Chinese are treating the African locals like indentured servants. Also the Chinese are very racists against people with dark skin. They view pale, white skin as a sign of beauty.
A small correction.
The Chinese view pale white skin as a sign of status. Being rich and kept indoors, and not poor manual laborers out in the sun all day.
Sounds like southern women living on slave plantations.
Exactly. The white skin denotes a “privileged” life. Many Chinese young women use lots of cosmetics to achieve an unnaturally white appearance. They are called “Ghost Face” there. 😂
The Chinese bride has a ghost face on her wedding day
Some African American women use skin lightning products and some White women try to brown themselves at the beach and tanning parlors. Seems no one is happy? I’m 50% English, 25% Scottish and 25% Irish and it’s always been dark women that I found most attractive. I don’t women based on skin color so it’s a minor preference.
I prefer women with an olive or light bronze complexion e.g. Italian, Arabic, some Latinas, etc. 😉
Which doesn’t make them racist just snobs.
Oh they can be very racist against laowai (non-Chinese) too!
So, in your way of thinking the Chinese treating the Africans like indentured servants is just being snobbish? Have you encountered a Chinese person interacting with a black person? Racism is alive and well.
Yes, we heard the same about the Chinese who came to the US under Biden through Central America.
Just as they are in the US the Chinese do not subsume themselves into other cultures. They stand out on campuses and only associate with their like.
Expect more rioting in these African countries. I see it as a good thing.
The local and state governments are on the take from China. Selling out their countries.
Can you imagine the police and armed forces in Angola and the like to turn against their citizens to protect the Chinese occupiers?
This is the type of looting and rioting that is productive.
That is to save one’s own country.
What Europe needs to do?
I guess the Europeans aren’t as smart as their migrant brotha’s. That’s what watching too much telly does to ya. I doubt too many Angolans watch the evening news or any news for that matter. They see what they see in real life and take it as truth unlike the “civilized” citizens who only believe what the telly tells them.
Oh how did we survive before television…….pretty damn well if you ask me.
So then as a white man I would be a sign of beauty?
The chineese need to look in the mirror and observe their skin tone.
Their skin may be lily white, but I wonder if the hearts are coal black.
Definitely the ones at the top….just like the former occupiers of our White House and their spawn.
I thought Chinese had yellow skin.
There is an old Asian fable that the creator created humans in an oven. The first batch came out black and burnt, so he threw them into tropical Africa. The batch came out pale and undercooked so he threw them into frigid Europe. The last batch came our perfectly cooked and nicely browned so he put them in Asia
The next batch had fortunes printed on little slips of paper and shoved up their butts, those got shipped to America!
Are you implying that’s how the cookie crumbles?
😂
Having been in Botswana and South Africa, circa 2004, even then it was obvious the Chinese shops/businesses were extremely prejudiced against the indigenous population. Lots of mining/smelting operations, lots of Chinese shops displacing local shops, but the prejudice was unbelievable. The Chinese treated the locals like “non persons”. And that was 20 yrs ago. In some of the nickle smelting areas, clouds of acidic fog would waft through the towns, burning eyes and other membranes. Smelled like sulfuric acid. Nonetheless, nobody addressed it. Nasty stuff.
It takes alotta nerve to go into a country and treat the locals like shit like that.
I’m rooting for the Angolans..
Enough is enough, the Chinese need to be put back on rice.
If the Africans do it, then so be it.
It needs doing, we all see this.
The Chinese view lighter skin tone as sign of status. Peasants work in the hot sun. Mandarin elites stay indoors.
But not too light. People with white skin, ie European-ancestry, are sometimes referred to as gweilo or “Ghost people.” It’s a racial slur. Hēiguǐ or hak-gwei is their slur against black people.
Africans are routinely mocked in Chinese popular culture.
China is the problem here, not the African countries.
China is a purely unethical “partner”.
please read up on angola history and culture
What culture?
Unethical partner partnering with unethical African partners. Birds of a feather do flock together after all.
Unethical, but then it presents entirely different in each.
They are both in survival mode..
Given the state of current affairs it appears that The Kingston Trio was prescient.
Love the song but the album spinning around just makes it so much more real!
And I always thought the Kingston Trio were black musicians. My bad.
Maybe you had Kingston, Jamaica in mind.
The Yellow Menace has been told to hit the road or they’re getting the belt!
Going by your statement regarding genocide, you would think African countries and the chinese have something in common.
The Chinese planners assumed they could control Africans the way they control their own people. Ha
The facts Sundance so clearly outlines about China’s internal structural failures, underscore how dangerous a cornered and flailing China may be to the rest of the world. We have been warned.
Think Japan during the early 1900’s. Desperate to build a world class manufacturing economy, but ignoring the lack of political and social norms to guide that type of society.
Of course, listening to the Brits and Teddy Roosevelt didn’t help their cause either.
Not assimilating into an existing culture is the problem no matter who it is.
We’re suffering from the same thing as the Californians and New Yorkers move to areas like locusts and then take over wherever they land and wreck the place.
The details are different, but it’s the same overall problem.
The predator/prey thing I guess.
In the South we call them damn Yankees…..the ones that go home we just call Yankees.
Problem is they have different expectations of government. They relocate for low taxes but then demand all the services of an urban area
Yep. Floridians moving up to NC is one thing. Yanks from NYC and MA invading any part of the southern heartland is a whole ‘nother deal — made even worse by the politics they try to dump on us.
Yes like Covid-19
A central planning economy that needs to keep over a billion people busy so they don’t rise up against the central planners.
And “Keeping people busy” is not going well in China today.
No it isn’t.
They have a lot of young men with no wives and a lack of jobs.
Big trouble in little China
For literally millenia Chinese culture has been racist: i.e. the Chinese have considered themselves superior and everyone else on the planet was/is considered a “barbarian,” far beneath their intelligence and accomplishments.
From my acquaintance with Chinese-American families throughout the years, I can attest that the racism is particularly acute, whenever Africa is involved.
I have always suspected that the Chinese arrogance about dallying in Africa would backfire on them via their own hubris.
Asian women make fun of other Asians who let their skin get too dark in the sun. I have seen them reduced to tears over catty remarks ( you look like a n-word) to one another.
Here in St. Louis we have suffered an extreme heat wave for at least a month. During that time I have been surprised to see quite a few Indian-ish looking people walking around carrying umbrellas or parasols for protection from the hot sun.
Naaa I only see that with the older people. Younger generations view it as outdated
When I was at University, 1975-1979, studying Engineering, there were a lot of Iranian students studying Petroleum/Mechanical/Electrical engineering. They all compared other Iranian students according to the darkness of their skin tone. “Don’t study with him, he’s a Ngg…” Very very prejudicial. Never forgot it, always shocked by it. They never understood why light skinned people would want a tan. Really strange. I, for one, had to work the combine harvest schedule to pay for my education in summers, so being “white” wasn’t an option. Sun, dirt, and sweat, were my bankers.
Some years back, I worked for a multinational company and we had colleagues from Mumbai (all males of medium to dark complexion) come over to the U.S. One evening, we took our colleagues to a bar and these guys were like children in a candy store with all the light – skinned women in the joint. Add some alcohol and these guys were Girls Gone Wild in action. LOL Light – skinned Indian women are prized over there. OTOH, I have seen darker skinned Indian women that I found to be attractive. 🤷♂️
And today we here in America are visited by this racism in the liberal black screeching banshees woman. They actually could give the Chinese a run for their money on the who’s the most racist.
Yes and don’t you even think about saying “they” are racist cuz they own the word….you white honky bee itch.
The hypocrisy is too much for me. If any Senator or Rep had the gonads to call these women out for what THEY really are I’m sure the world would spin out of orbit….or another island will flip over, I can’t remember which.
And then we have the New Delhi Overlord Caste.
Here in Texas they have erected down near Houston area a ninety foot statue of their weird Monkey God. They are swarming Texas like the unwelcome fire ants as are the Muzrats.
We’re hoping the “Don’t Mess With Texas” thing is real.
And the Chinese people are The Worst about assimilating into other cultures. They just don’t.
hmmm…. That’s not true.
Not here in the States, anyway.
That is a big reason why so little breakthrough innovation happens in China.
During the Ming Dynasty (considered the peak of Chinese culture, economic power and civilization) they decided they had achieved total perfection. So the Emperor basically tried to wall off China from the rest of the world (so those uncouth barbarians could not contaminate Chinese perfection.) China discouraged new exploration, new scientific development, new art-forms, new everything. Chinese culture turned to glorifying their perceived perfect culture that was “impossible” to improve upon.
That was hundreds of years ago. But it had an impact that is still felt today.
For centuries, the Chinese have considered themselves to be the gatekeepers (Middle Kingdom) between the rest of Asia and heaven. Xi Jinping is attempting to expand that on a global scale.
Oil and water just will not mix………….no matter how ya shake it …it will seperate.
Read the book “The Committee of 300” by Coleman. And you will know why the oligarchs love China. The west was intentionally sabotaged and our wealth exfiltrated to Asia. The NWO oligarchs love compliant obediance. And hate White Christians.
Thanks for the book tip, added to my reading list
Because Christians of any ethnicity are only compliant and obedient to Jesus Christ first.
No mortal man will ever replace fear of God.
But we are also cautioned to “Render onto Caesar that which is Caesar’s.”
But that “Caesar” verse is about obedience in material matters versus the inner person and the soul.
Barrick mining learned the hard way in Mali recently as a recent Junta tore up the original agreement. Investing in Africa is sketchy at best. If China only had franchised their restaurants.
” China did not officially blame Africans for the spread of COVID-19. However, during the early stages of the pandemic in 2020, authorities in Guangzhou implemented strict measures targeting foreign nationals, including Africans, due to concerns about imported cases. These measures included mandatory testing, quarantine, and restrictions on movement, which led to reports of Africans being evicted from housing and denied access to services. This treatment sparked international outrage and accusations of discrimination, with African residents and governments expressing concern over the stigmatization of Africans as potential virus carriers.”
There were videos on You Tube in fall of 2019 from China. The folks were dropping over on the street and hospitals were jammed.
Some of those videos were staged.
We had noted a Chinese businessman in a trench coat on the street falling over like a log was unnatural – you would buckle at the knees if you fainted.
That’s was due to the 5G signals being transmitted thru his body causing the nanoparticles in the vax to organize and lock! 😂🤣😳
Some probably were, but there were enough of them that I bought the N95 masks and began tracking the cases daily in Tennessee and the US as a whole. I was worried it was 1918 again. Quickly the numbers in TN showed it was older folks. I could tell in 2021 the vax was killing more than it was helping.
Mask – wearing contributed to more deaths by secondary infection (pneumonia etc.) during the Spanish Flu pandemic than from the influenza virus itself. MASKS DO NOT WORK AGAINST VIRUSES, even the vaunted N95 mask. The 95 in the name means that a properly fitted mask can filter out 95 percent of airborne particles of a diameter of 0.3 microns or larger. Virus particles are much smaller.
I think Ango has big problems no matter what anybody does!
If Sundance wished, he could post this article again tomorrow deleting China, inserting US, and changing out “service” for manufacturing. Except for Trump’s brief time, this article’s premise is accurate for the US as well in our lifetimes, just different modes of economic preferred activity. The details remain similar.
The major difference is that China over the last 50 years has taken a more proactive stance on managing their problems, outside of the the Trump policies. Now, we have the King of ID chairing both the Eat the Bugs and Happily Own Nothing crowd and 80% of the publicly traded companies. Indeed, the King is a Fink.
My main point is that whatever it takes, we must not allow the US to sink back to its old ways in 2029. We are a long way from out of the woods.
Correct.
Glad you cleared that up and I totally agree with your “main point”.
The rest was kind of hard to follow for an old simple minded Rocket Scientist like my self.
Trust your day is going well!
Some of that (like “happily owning nothing”) is in relation to the brainwashing efforts of the WEF and other like-minded demoniacs.
China is @sshole.
SPIT!
A lot of that happened, particularly during the Clinton years, China was exporting things like rubber sex toys, while importing stolen US missile tech.
Gov funded, university research projects, were fertile hunting grounds, rife with Chinese spies, hoovering up high value intel.
We are still paying for it.
We have some good systems in place to protect against this type of activity but it does happen. Looks like this is some recent activity and it only takes one in this digital age. I remember “The Falcon and the Snowman” sure tightened security at one shop.
Honest folks I can’t go further than that. I am no Presidents Son or Attorney subject to a slap on the wrists. For those interested just Google what I have in quotes. It was a long time ago but relevant to this article.
But it still boils down to who’s in charge of whatever and how honest and patriotic they are, or not. Clintons and Bidens for example.
10 years maxmum???
“
The Ugly
AmericanChinees. The Chinese have been expanding in Angola for more than 2 decades now.
I have been wondering for years when the Angolans would finally “Cry Uncle”.
The Chinese have never been known as people who treat others kindly, fairly or ethically.
Frankly, I’m surprised the Angolans took it for so long.
Maybe this will encourage other African countries that have similar agreements with China to finally rebel.
Finally the CIA is doing something that I can agree with!
Five points.
The Chicoms caught enslaving Africans?
Thas Racis
If you just put nookers on it then we never have to hear about it anymore. Enough with third world hellholes forever in need of rescue.
A few fine points on Sundance’s post:
– China has built extensive roadways and has, by far, the largest high-speed-rail system in the world
– I saw a brief clip of China building a freeway with zero manpower (all remote controlled equipment)
– a self-proclaimed analyst, Peter Zeihan, possibly CIA, repeatedly says China overcounted by 300 million and can never recover. They went too far w population control and murdering female babies
– I always wondered, w so much land, why they don’t cultivate their own trees (maybe they do), and go ultra gonzo on nuclear power; I know they’ve built high rise skyscrapers just to raise pigs. Really.
” I know they’ve built high rise skyscrapers just to raise pigs. Really.”
Really? Then they don’t need to own Smithfield. Note the mention of Mexico.
A Brave AI reveals:
“Smithfield Foods, the company responsible for producing Smithfield ham, is owned by WH Group, a Chinese multinational meat processing company. WH Group acquired Smithfield Foods in 2013 for $4.7 billion in a deal that was the largest-ever Chinese acquisition of a U.S. company at the time. While the company is now a subsidiary of WH Group, it continues to operate under its American leadership team, and its headquarters remain in Smithfield, Virginia. In July 2024, WH Group announced plans to spin off Smithfield Foods’ U.S. and Mexico operations into a separate entity, which would continue to manage the production and sale of Smithfield’s premium hams, bacon, and fresh pork”
I was going to ask what about all the China ghost towns that I’ve heard of but thankfully Terry Anderson below has answered the question.
Yes, China has paved some dirt roads but President Trump tore them a new A-hole during his first term with his tariffs and he will do it again if necessary.
That’s why they needed the CHYNA! virus (with a little help from good ole USA’s DOD and people like Mitch the Bitch) to stage the plandemic and steal the 2020 election.
We here in the USA have a lot to lose if we started a revolution to fully take back our country and luckily we have a slight reprieve but ALL of China’s citizens don’t have nearly as much to lose to blow the CCP out of the picture.
Unfortunately I have no question that the CCP would nuke their own citizens to take control. Kinda like the coup controlling Bite Me would have done if we revolted after the stolen election.
The CCP top down management of the economy has reached a tipping point. Too much corruption and too much malinvestment. The real estate sector collapse is much worse than Japan’s. There are 65 million units of housing empty. It will take decades to fix if it is ever fixed.
The population is not only aging rapidly but is also shrinking. Some folks think there are only 900 million and others say closer to 500 million. The killing of Falun Gong and the Uyghurs along with Covid has decimated the country.
Communist management of the economy leads to huge amounts of poor investing. High speed rail going everywhere lies empty. Electric Cars everywhere built for the subsidy but remain unsold. Solar panels that increase the cost of electricity. Polluted Air and Water. The food is contaminated.
The CCP decided to focus on being a hegemon instead of trying to take care of its people. The country is just starting to reap the devastation of what the CCP has sown.
” There are 65 million units of housing empty. “
Hey! This would be a good place to move the Palestinians.
When is China going to invite them?
Does anyone recall all the news articles relating to prosperity in China, back in and around 2008? Where it was reported the chinese where buying massive amounts of gold jewelry from vending machines?
well, its working for them….till the slaves revolt….
Sounds like there may be another peace deal that will need Donald Trump to broker
LOL!!!
“Zambia is facing an environmental disaster after a toxic spill from the Chinese-owned Sino-Metals Leach Zambia mine poisoned the Kafue River, a lifeline for millions. On February 18, a dam holding acidic waste collapsed, spilling 50 million litres of toxic sludge. The disaster killed fish, destroyed farmland, and cut off clean water for 700,000 people in Kitwe. The government scrambled to contain the damage, but anger is rising as another Chinese mine was caught covering up an acid spill—part of a growing pattern of environmental harm. With over $4 billion in Chinese debt, Zambia faces tough questions. As protests grow, will the country break free from this toxic cycle of exploitation? Watch the full report to learn more.”
This is so heartbreaking.
But, unfortunately, not something that surprises me At. All.
The Chinese have done this same sh*t in China. Ruining things is what they do best.
If you want total devastation, invite the Chinese to open a factory, mining op., etc in your town.
Shame on that stupid town in N.H. that is letting China set up a water co. in their town, just cuz they paid a load of cash for the property.
Yes, Sunnydaze, it is…tragically so…
About the copper issues….
“Modern pennies are therefore mostly zinc, with a very thin layer of copper.”
The above is a tail end of a Brave search…so which leads me to ask this…because pennies composition has changed many times over the last 200 years, give or take…
Not making more pennies…I think there is far more to that story, than the gubmint here, is letting us know.
Just acquired a 2025 penny and noticed immediately how thin it was.
Not only that, if you drop it on a hard surface it sounds like plastic instead of metal.
Save it. I think 2025 is the last year for the penny
The latest on this is that Governor Kelly Ayotte just ordered the AG to do an investigation into the situation.

https://www.reuters.com/world/china/two-killed-more-than-50-trapped-china-coal-mine-collapse-state-media-2023-02-22/
FTA: “BEIJING, Feb 23 (Reuters) – At least five people were killed and 48 others were still missing a day after the collapse of a coal mine in China’s northern region of Inner Mongolia, state media reported on Thursday.
The open-pit mine operated by small local firm Xinjing Coal Mining Co collapsed in a landslide, leaving dozens of workers buried under a huge pile of debris half a kilometre (550 yards) wide and an estimated 80 m high, according to state broadcaster CCTV.”
Chyna doesn’t care. Plenty more men to continue mining. They have a surplus of males since the one child policy
https://www.rferl.org/a/china-tajikistan-mining-pollution-environment-corruption/33041345.html
FTA:
“PANJAKENT, Tajikistan — For the some 150 people in the tiny Tajik village of Khumgaron, the pollution and waste from the Chinese gold-mining operation nearby is not what they bargained for.
“How will we live if the air and water are polluted?” asked one villager. “What meaning does life have when a person loses their health?”
Fed up with the severe pollution in their village caused by the Zarafshon mining company, a group of angry women traveled to the nearby city of Panjakent last year to file an official complaint on behalf of the village.
But instead of the local officials promising to look into the issue, the women say they were taken to the police station and harshly warned to stop criticizing the sprawling Chinese mining project near their village.”
Thanks for posting these, SC.
You haven’t seen Evironmental Destruction/Pollution til you’ve seen Chinese EnviroDestruction/Pollution.
There were a ton more articles and videos depicting the poor mining practices of the Chinese.
If you look on Google Earth at China and zoom in on various mountainous regions, the brightly colored pools of chemicals is astounding!
In the mid 20th century there was a big push in China for self sufficiency which led to many small mines local mines being opened and many of these still operate today. You have to differentiate between the modern mining operations in China vs the small pri barely owned mines.
The toxic waste is not due to poor mining infrastructure, it’s because refining ore in China produces 3 times more waste than other countries like Australia because the ore is such a poor grade .
So it is okay to pollute waterways? Sorry, but toxic waste being released into an environment is indicative of POOR MINING INFRASTRUCTURE.
The Chinese do one thing well… cheat.
No it’s not due to poor mining infrastructure. Your totally ignoring the fact that China has thousands of small local mines AS WELL as big modern mining operations.
They also mine low quality ore that other countries would not touch that produce 3 times as much waste. I’m not saying polluting waterways is ok I’m saying it’s not due to poor infrastructure and to say China has poor mining infrastructure is ridiculous.
What country has better mining infrastructure than China ???? Certainly not the USA.
AND POLLUTE
The air pollution in China is the worst I have ever ever experienced, even worse than Delhi in the winter.
Nobody gives a crap.
The China Observer YT channel has more details
Thanks for the video link, looks like LA, San Francisco or Chicago, Baltimore etc.
Looks like they are celebrating the martyrdom of St George of Fentanyl.
Exactly and still wearing the stupid surgical masks. C’mon guys get some of them ANTIFA/BLM masks so you can be the real boogie men. I doubt China is going to form a July 28 committee to arrest thousands of “insurrectionists” but you never know cuz we ALL know how the CCP is so democratic. Just like the WHO or the UN.
As an American of a Vietnamese immigrant mother I was always warned by her my whole life of the dangers of trusting the Chinese.
Yes, Vietnamese people hate and distrust the Chinese very much.
In fact most Asians dislike China a lot.
Yep.
Indonesians, Thai, Filpinos, *everybody*.
The problem is, they come into a country/locale and start taking everything over.
Just pi$$es off the locals, and word spreads fast.
Heard this *everywhere* traveling around/living in Asia.
Pretty much a universal bad reputation.
China believed that the US was just a strange blip in history and that they are the rightful rulers of the world.
I noticed you didn’t mention bridges and dams 😉
Or Covid
chinese are probably less corrupt than western aid workers!! less likely to traffick ?
Can also add it’s due to Chinese mining infrastructure being the best in the world that’s it’s the 3rd producer of iron ore in the world . Chinese ore deposits are small , scattered and low grade vs other top producers like Australia.
Now it’s time for the Chinese to experience some of that “No Justice, No Peace.”
For the last several years I have been seeing videos of hundreds of huge unit buildings in China literally falling apart and unable to be occupied as sewerage and plumbing etc not done properly.
The chinese who bought into them are crying as the buildings are worthless. The lenders banks are going bankrupt.
This is a slow rolling crash.
Yep. They rip their own people off as badly as they do others.
Money is King.
That quality “green steel”.
Bamboo is renewable, at least. Makes for lousy rebar though.
Much of the actual “steel” rebar that is locally sourced is malleable enough to bend with bare hands. If, it doesn’t simply break in half when you do.
Actually, back in the 90’s I saw a huge skyscraper being builtin Hong Kong that had Bamboo Scaffolding going up – seems like at least 10 stories.
Couldn’t believe it!
And if it’s not coated with very tough plastic it starts rusting as soon as damp concrete and cement is slapped on the rebar. And continues rusting.
It could be worse ,the Chinese government could have bought retail stores in black neighborhoods in California or some other coastal state.
Maybe Putin should invade Angola and bail his dear brother Xi out?
Western governments will see problems in Angola as an excuse to import several zillion more refugees from anywhere.
To alleviate African violence in their new western home, Victoria, Australia is leading the way with their fail-safe new rule banning machetes. They’ve even installed machete drop boxes to ensure compliance.

Ahh, the less commonly employed strategy of going after criminals, by punishing law abiding citizens.
I’m sure it will be as successful as the American system of paying certain demographics to turn their guns in for money Ha Ha
Slavery in Angola existed since long before the late 15th century when Portugal established contacts with the peoples living in what is the Northwest of the present country, and founded several trade posts on the coast. A number of those peoples, like the Imbangala[1] and the Mbundu,[2] were active slave traders for centuries (see Slavery in Africa). In the late 16th century, Kingdom of Portugal‘s explorers founded the fortified settlement of Luanda, and later on minor trade posts and forts on the Cuanza River as well as on the Atlantic coast southwards until Benguela. The main component of their trading activities consisted in a heavy involvement in the Atlantic slave trade.[3] Slave trafficking was abolished in 1836 by the Portuguese authorities.[4]
What an innovative ways to get the 300K+ illegal aliens to self-deport!!!
But clearly it isn’t enough for their system, or they wouldn’t need it.
They might have this internally, but if that isn’t enough for their system, and their system depends on quantity X… then its just the same as not having it.
The Chinese bid on mining contracts in other countries.
Often, they win the contract because they can afford to bid the highest since they import their own cheaply-paid workers, cooks, doctors, and even sleeping facilities included. They set up camp and overwhelm the locals.
The locals see their natural resources being loaded onto trucks and head to maritime ports where the Chinese ships await loading for the return trip to China.
Angry locals. The Chinese bring nothing to the invaded community.
BTW, I had a great friend who is a traveling mining engineer who witnessed this process many times.
“Hate to break a good monologue, but China’s mining industry, infrastructure, etc. is the best in the world.”
Exactly. Reading that essay, you’ve just got to wonder what sources were used. It reads like the author is listening to someone stuck in the 1990’s.
The same issue with the assertions of lack of innovation. The Chinese are definitely great at copying/stealing others intellectual property, but they also ruthlessly innovate. And are focusing more and more on innovation.
If you’re old enough, you might remember the same wise words about Japan in the 1960s. They stole, copied, couldn’t create anything of their own. Then the 1970s to 90s, Sony, Honda, Toyota, JBL, etc, etc, etc, ate our lunch–taking our lead and running with it, creating newer and better versions, and many completely new products.
Here’s a recent article about China and innovation.
The assertion that China’s central planning dooms its efforts to failure also ignores the reality of China’s success. China’s political organization is purely Communist, but their economic organization is much more market-oriented fascism–government guided, but relying on entrepreneurs to lead the way, with government backing and safety nets, in some cases. In fact, such a hybrid economy may be the optimum for success in today’s world. The US is getting closer to that economic model, but not quite as far along as China.
Africans rebelling at yellow colonizers replacing their white colonizers was bound to happen. That Angolans rioted against Chinese in their country does NOT reflect poorly on China’s overall economic strategy.
Fascinating. Thank you, Sundance, for the education.
Gee I guess that God based principles of freedom work…..
The Chinese, specifically the ruling Han, are the most ethnically chauvinistic people on the face of the Earth. They have an unremitting belief in their racial superiority and display nothing but disdain for all other people groups, except when it is in their interest to feign respect. Such as when they promise to benefit the countries with whom they engage in trade and commerce. But when they are alone, the Chinese are insuffferable. Moreover, the Chinese economy is a mess; China has NO energy reserves and is completely dependent on imports for its gas and oil. Certainly, they are attempting to become independent in regard to domestic electricity production with their massive hydro projects, but as far as anything else, they lag far behind. They are an aging, childless society (as are we all save for Africa and certain parts of the Middle East) and their future is rather cloudy. What is to be feared, however is that the imbalance in male/female has resulted in many surplus men of fighting age, which China my need to use up in a land war wiht somebody.
My limited observation of Chinese culture is that it is extremely stable, but confined to a world view that contrasts deeply with Western, especially Christian, cultural values.
Individual prosperity, and especially family prosperity, appear to be the most deeply held values. Respect for elders and respect for family are great, of course. But three generations of one child policy also mean that family is much smaller than it was in 1900. Six adults whose sole focus is on one baby boy (usually a boy in any event) is not likely to result in anything good, long term.
Aside from Confucianism, Chinese culture seems to be still deeply infused with Buddhism, which encourages a non-engagement with others and with the world.
There is no charitable impulse, no concern with goodness or eternal destination.
There is a lot of cultural self-satisfaction. This leads to a relative moral impoverishment compared to a Western Christian culture, and the combination of hubris and prosperity first look an awful lot like a closed ethnic narcissism loop to other cultures.
Of course, that is painting with an extremely broad brush, and leaves out very substantial numbers of Christian converts in China and among Chinese immigrants elsewhere, and the impact that may have over time. The quest for meaning and purpose in life is deeply human, and must be percolating in China as well as anywhere else.
It will be interesting to see what happens to China from here.
Good analysis Alex.
As someone who lived over there for quite a while, I agree!
I suspect this right here is going to be the first of a whole lot of this..
I recall listening to Laura Ingraham’s radio show and she was sounding the alarm about what the Chinese were doing in Botswana following her trip there- and that had to be 10 years ago now? her radio show ended a long time ago.
She talked about this topic a lot from then on, having seen a lot on her trip and speaking with the locals.
She explained those people were outraged about what was happening, so they must be on the brink too I’d imagine.
It’s probably like this everywhere the Chinese have done all this in Africa.
AND it seems to me like once that all gets going, it will be a domino effect..
Just do what the Democrats do and give the people of a certain color some free Obama phones or some other form of free stuff.
Works every time.
There is a reason Angola is Angola. And Chi-Na is finding out
Be grateful the border is closed
Of course its the best in the world. They stole our intellectual property. It was ours to start with. So it should be good.
Ideas “Made in America”…
Well, if the infrastructure info came from stolen US intellectual data, then that works, no?
Being sneak thieves is what the ChiComs are best at.
I stopped buying Harbor Freight crap a decade ago….. junk just breaks after a dozen uses
A lot of stolen IP is not innovation.
