President Trump continues to provide information about the White House announcement that will take place tomorrow at 10:00am ET.
TRUTH SOCIAL – “The Press Conference on Crime and “Beautification” will be held tomorrow, at 10:00 A.M. EST, in the Press Briefing Room, and it will not only involve ending the Crime, Murder, and Death in our Nation’s Capital, but will also be about Cleanliness and the General Physical Renovation and Condition of our once beautiful and well-maintained Capital.
We are not going to allow people to spend $3.1 Billion Dollars on fixing up a building, like the Federal Reserve, which could have been done in a far more elegant and time sensitive manner for $50 to $100 Million Dollars. The Renovation would have actually been better, and we would have saved $3 Billion Dollars, Traffic Jams, and never-ending Construction.
The Mayor of D.C., Muriel Bowser, is a good person who has tried, but she has been given many chances, and the Crime Numbers get worse, and the City only gets dirtier and less attractive. The American Public is not going to put up with it any longer. Just like I took care of the Border, where you had ZERO Illegals coming across last month, from millions the year before, I will take care of our cherished Capital, and we will make it, truly, GREAT AGAIN!
Before the tents, squalor, filth, and Crime, it was the most beautiful Capital in the World. It will soon be that again. Thank you for your attention to this matter — See you tomorrow at 10 A.M.!”
PREVIOUSLY:
“We’re having a News Conference tomorrow in the White House. I’m going to make our Capital safer and more beautiful than it ever was before. The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital. The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong.
It’s all going to happen very fast, just like the Border. We went from millions pouring in, to ZERO in the last few months. This will be easier — Be prepared! There will be no “MR. NICE GUY.” We want our Capital BACK. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” (source)

I hope Trump also mandates a mandatory reciprocal CWP agreement with all state CWP holders so that all American citizens who wish to be able to defend themselves in the nation’s capital legally can do so
When he is locking up D.C. criminals, I certainly hope he starts with the obvious bureaucrats, elected public servants and clintoncide team members. Before moving on to the muggers, car jackers and purse snatchers. Lol
The news will scream “Here comes martial law!”
And yet… when it was done in San Francisco for the President of China, the Progressives didn’t raise an eye brow… makes you wonder!
So? All they do is scream nonsense.
Will?? ARE.
Martial Law is the natural outcome of excessive Liberalism the Democrats are always yammering for! How many times do we have to tolerate the same failure of the same wrong idea?
CK screams, “Here comes actual law!”
I would expect our news media to scream marshall law.
Where to start? Perhaps congress, pentagon, all IC facilities, and, of course, the city though you clean up the inside and the outside might find their need to be there lessen financially.
DJT is rockin’ the sox off the crooked communists who now refer to themselves as D-E-M-O-C-R-A-T-S.
In the United States of America today: DEMOCRATS ARE COMMUNISTS. COMMUNISTS ARE DEMOCRATS. Degenerate, depraved D-E-M-O-C-R-A-T leadership subscribes to the following statement formulated by godless leadership in the Frankfurt School of Critical Theory:
“We must organize the intellectuals and use them to make Western civilization stink! Only then, after they have corrupted all its values and made life impossible, can we impose the dictatorship of the proletariat.”
In a nutshell THAT is the D-E-M-O-C-R-A-T theory, strategy, mission and tactic.
DC from top to bottom needs a sanitizing including the Law Enforcement while investigating Bowser and how PDJT can call her a nice person is beyond me.
Nothing nice about her or Karen Bass or Gretchen Witmer because Marxist attempting to destroy this country will never change no matter how they smile.
“Muriel Bowser, is a good person who has tried” . Please stop with the lies.
Bowser is a failure.
This cancer on American cities runs very deep. Just up the Beltway is Baltimore MD. Looser lifetime Congressman Elijah Cummings home turf.. Same problem but worse. Like the Jesse Jackson family, Cummings made a lifetime career off the backs of the poor while himself living a life of the rich and famous.. Keeping the citizens of his community in a state of violence, gangs and drugs, bad school systems and an overall feeling of hopelessness. Generation after generation.
Show me a mayor in a “blue” city and I will show you someone corrupted by money and power.
I expect Mr Cummings is experiencing his eternal reward for his work on earth. Mr. Jackson and other are soon to follow.
That’s just President Trump sweetening the pill a little bit for Bowser. She IS a failure and he, along with everyone else, knows it.
As was marion berry
Audit John Hopkins and see how much money laundering Cummings, his wife, the former female mayor
of Baltimore did. Every single one of those scoundrels seemed to have their hooks deep into John Hopkins.
Or Johns Hopkins as it’s sometimes known.
This could get interesting. It’s not widely publicized, but Trump, Inc. has been the silent partner on several urban renewal projects over the years. I worked on two of them in Vegas.
New ballroom, clean up DC. The Donald (as he used to be called) is about to leave his mark on DC before leaving town.
Congress needs to repeal Home Rule. Wait, did I just say “Congress has to . . . ?” My bad. Congress cannot do it’s basic duty, putting together and passing a budget each year so why would I think they could repeal Home Rule? Mr. President, the floor is yours! Good luck!
I suspect the courts will block direct Presidential action. “To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such District”
Americans can’t trust Democrats—at all!
It’s fun watching “Trump, the professional builder and developer,” calling a spade about pork-drenched “building renovations,” and even climbing onto the White House roof to comment – as a qualified expert – on a project there.
He DOES know how to do it, and how to control costs and scope. He literally made BILlions(!) of dollars from that expertise, making his many stakeholders very, very happy.
He is indeed correct that DC has become, in more ways than one, a self-absorbed cesspool that badly needs a gallon of “kick-a&s juice.” In this capitol, of all of them, why isn’t it spotless, and why don’t I feel safe? That’s inexcusable, isn’t it?
And, while we’re at it, let’s abolish the DC Federal Circuit. A single city doesn’t require one, and in the specific case of THIS politics-besotted city, it can by definition never be fair. The other Circuits can take turns.
Run the trash out of DC and dump it into Maryland. That’s where it belongs anyway, right there in the People’s Republic.
Whenever CK finds himself in Maryland, he counts the seconds until he leaves Maryland.
It’s like so many places: Western Maryland (Garrett County) Southern Maryland (St Mary’s County) or the Shore (Worcester County) might as well be a different state.
OK, I’m going to be the one that pisses everybody off… How about taking care of the homeless problem instead of just moving it far away to become another cities problem/heartache? Are any of these homeless people a veteran that are just coming to you looking for help, as promised?! Maybe that new federal building should be turned into a veterans rehab center, show the rest of the world how much we appreciate our veterans and how they are taking care of? As far as crime goes… Yeah, it would be a good start to get the people that were complicit in staging January 6 out of Washington.
No upset here and applauds goes to you for thinking of veterans. However, my view is that the city if full of Obama’s brown shirts, etc. Young individuals doing such crimes, unless in gangs which they might be, are under orders to disrupt. Guessing that President Trump knows who is in DC destroying and, its not veterans.
I agree! That is why I said they need to take out the police chief, probably a lot of the police department, and the mayor. Anyone that was complicit or contributed to January 6 and is now a part of this catch and release crap with the criminals. With a veteran/military rehab building, I would imagine there would be a lot more bars/stripes and camouflage walking around Washington DC. That would be a big deterrent to anyone that wanted to commit a crime, don’t you think?
Jan 6 seems more like Park Police/Capitol Police, not DC Metro.
Any way there is already the Navy Yard, Marine Barracks, Ft McNair, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, and USCG Headquarters in DC.
Homeless in DC want to be in DC. All kinds of wealth in that city and the panhandling is likely great. In addition, DC has traffic that moves at inches/minute and comes to a complete halt many times.
CORRECT!!
In 1993 my PE teacher from high school decided to dress like a bum and panhandle in NE DC for two weekends in a row. He made $5,000 dollars over the span of both weekends. Like I said, this was 1993!!
The bums make over six figures yet can’t get off the street. What does that tell you?
That they decided to dress a little better and went into government work.
Yes, I can see where DC would be a panhandlers dream. I can just see AOC, Crockett, Pelosi, Shift, Warren, Sanders or Schmucker stopping to dole out a dollar or two of the money that they steal from the taxpayer.. And with the cost of living in DC, I’m sure the people that actually “WORK” in DC have a lot of extra money to help the poorest population in DC.
If they’re coming in from VA via TR Bridge, Memorial Bridge or 14th St Bridge I don’t think you’re going to see panhandlers. Maybe up around Union Station.
Doubt there are many homeless west of Rock Creek, where the wealth is. Mainly in NE and SE (Anacostia).
“The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital.”
Watch for low income housing projects in the DC metro/Maryland/Virginia areas.
Senator Tim Scott was with President Trump at the Fed. Reserve Building. Enterprise Zones and the housing that goes with it has always been his cause.
An infrastructure project heading into the 2026 midterms? Booker may even co-sponsor.
Low income housing will be nowhere nearer the DC than Baltimore which already has plenty of low income run down rat (rats are a big problem there) infested apartments.
The elite division of colleged educated paper pushers working for the government live high on hog while gangs, drugs, and poverty destroy the rest of the people.
Plenty of low income housing by Alexandria and Capital Heights / Seat Pleasant / Suitland. Maybe send them to College Park and let the libs at UMd take care of them.
Homeless is just another word for lazy druggie. Every ex military gets minimum $2500 month for being color blind for every other disability you add $500. The $ is there they simply have to ask for it. Medical is taken care of. If they live near a base they can buy stuff at 1/2 of what u and i can buy it for I could go on. Mostly a myth from the Viet Nam war when there was nothing for them they were hated then that is not true anymore. Kinda like racism white people have the problem blacks hate them.
I’m sure that that is the picture they had in mind when they were laying flat on their stomachs in a jungle. Or having their legs, arms and faces blown off by a road bomb or a little child with a grenade shoved in their diaper. Yep, I’m sure they were thinking that after they were done with all that they were going to get $2500 a month so that they could spend it on drugs trying to forget all that they’ve seen and been through. And they were doing all of that for people like you… The ones that truly appreciate their sacrifice.
Funny, but I have yet, in over 22 years after retirement, to find anything at any base that was 1/2 the cost out on the “economy”. I could go on about the VA and other things we were promised, but I fear it would fall on deaf ears.
I don’t think you know any military. VA compensation rates go from 10% rating ($176/mo) to 100% rating ($3,831/mo). Hereditory color blindness gets you nothing but if the color blindness is due to some service-connected injury you could get a 10 – 70% rating depending on the injury (100% if totally blind).
Of course you don’t just get compensation, you have to submit a claim and prove it’s service connected (advice for any active duty — if your enlistment is up and you just want to get out and get home DO NOT DO THIS. For your discharge physical document every hang nail you had during your service and ensure you get your physical to the VA in 90 days. Each state has veteran service providers that can help. I recommend Disabled American Veterans. If you come in years later to the VA it will be an uphill climb to get a rating.)
For medical you get to enjoy the VA Hospital system like all vets with regular discharges. Though 70%+ rating gets you “head of the line”. If you think you can buy stuff at “1/2 of what you can off base”, well you’re living in a dream world. Check out any Walmart or Costco off base and you will see what I mean.
Here in Hawaii DeCA (grocery store) can be a deal on brand name stuff, but if you check it out at Ft Meade or Ft Belvoir or JB Andrews by DC you’ll see not worth the trip.
The homeless problem is a direct result of the drug problem.
Let’s not forget about the mentally ill – the truly mentally ill. Nobody wants to take on this problem but it’s not going to go away. People that have mental illness in their family know what I’m talking about. We need to bring back mental institutions where they can go to get help. They are not aware of having a mental illness so they will not go voluntarily. The people in charge will have to do the right thing and send them there. Then the people working in the institution have to do the right thing by seeing that they get medication and treatment. It is pathetic that we have let this problem fester for too long. We are supposed to be the most advanced and empathetic country in the world. Let’s start acting that way. Rant over. 😁
Agreed.
Drugs use is usually the least of the homeless worries, and many use drugs to help cope with their not-great conditions (whatever the cause may be). Mental illness, poverty, trauma, it’s a long list.
St. Elizabeth’s in DC was the Government Hospital for the Insane, but we are too compassionate any more for that. Let them live on the street with Obama Care.
Agreed. This is a great opportunity. Let’s dial back foreign aid and focus on helping our fellow citizens, including some vets.
Homeless should be rounded up and moved to one of our many BRAC bases. These were small cities that could easily be restarted. Food, shelter, counseling and a job of some type to earn their keep.
(sorry, off topic)
I had no idea what a BRAC was, so I looked it up. That is a good idea except that I don’t know that the government would want to spend the money reopening one of the bases since they didn’t want to spend the money to keep it open in the first place. It sounds as if it seriously hurt the surrounding towns, businesses, etc. when they closed them. But, if the surrounding towns did survive, it would be great for the small businesses… Plumbers, electricians, hardware stores, grocery stores, etc. perhaps they could start some sort of regenerative farming or technical schooling on base.
As always, look to see how Federalizing Law Enforcement would be used by the Left once they come back into power.
A good start would be to get rid of the criminals in the capital building.
Put America to work. Hire steam cleaners from all over the country to come to DC and pick a street to cleasn including buildings! Property managers can cough up their FAIR SHARE. I AM EXCITED FOR THEM!!
Now that we are talking about taking the trash out of DC, don’t forget K Street and Congress.
“The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong.”
Yeah baby, this is just another one of the reasons I voted for President Trump — a third time. Put ’em in jail where they belong.
Thank you, President Trump!
I am not sure this will turn out to have been a good idea. He may be able to take over DC law enforcement, but he won’t be able to take over the DC courts. Those judges will immediately turn loose every thug that is arrested and then the media will blame Trump for the next wave of crimes they commit. At the end of the day nothing will be better on the streets. I’m sorry, but this decision sounds like it might have been too hasty.
Uh, the DOJ is taking over DC now. The new DA, Jeanine Piro, is on the job. Everyone in the 47 Administration is watching what stupid things entrenched, entitled, self-important judges try to do.
Pay attention, and try to keep up.
There has been no lack of smart people watching what the “entrenched, entitled, self-important judges” have been doing in DC and all across the country, and yet those same judges just keep doing those stupid things.
As for paying attention and trying to keep up, perhaps it is you who needs to do that and refrain from spouting unnecessary and offensive personal insults.
This is an opportunity to do something creative and humane about the homeless.
Rather than just kicking them out (or putting them in prison …) how about the government open some farms/camps for the homeless in rural areas near DC? (PA, WV, MD). In return for room and board, they could raise crops, learn some woodworking skills, a lot of other things.
Not an easy nut to crack, I don’t have the solution. But can we devote some resources to trying something new? Some of the homeless are vets, some have had serious trauma in their lives. How about cutting back on sending boatloads of cash to Ukraine and elsewhere and focus on some tough social problems like this? If not Trump, who else would dare get creative and think outside the box a little?
It is never about money (funding). It is about behaviors that need to be adjusted to fit into polite society. Rehab. Mental care.
And if they refuse, well then ….
There used to be a nice, rural place. It was called Lorton.
See comment above re: BRAC
Does anyone sense something bigger behind this move? Just a guess here:
PDJT and Putin may have already come to an agreement, and have planned to reveal the details at the Alaskan meeting.
There are powerful forces opposed to this, forces which have $Ts – trillions of dollars – at stake in perpetuating this conflict.
Those forces may have been planning some kind of world-class disruption to Washington, to which PDJT and Putin might have to address, as a distraction to the meeting.
That there is street crime in DC is just a cover story. This action may be a response to what the warmongers have already planned.
I had no idea until I saw it with my own eyes way back in 1986 as a Midshipman at the Naval Academy: the abject poverty that existed in the very shadow of the US Capitol; it blew my mind as I was looking for a place to park to go visit The Mall…I was raised middle class in South Florida…I had never seen what I saw; the poverty, the poor people everywhere in little ramshackle homes. Then I saw it again later that same year in Baltimore, near what was the Inner Harbor…same thing…poverty everywhere and young men drunk or drugged out and lying in their own vomit…these are all areas that democrats have been in complete control of for more than a generation.
You didn’t need to go that far. I could have shown you some “nice” places off President St or south of Forest in ‘Naptown.
The Democrats leave these big huge doors open, like the ridiculous state of affairs of DC, and then they’re butt hurt when DJT rides through the opening on a 2,000 pound rodeo bull.
When Trump’s work results in a safer and more beautiful and FRIENDLY city, the power Democrats have over the miserable public is THREATENED.
The “divide and conquer” idea is a very old one. At it’s core is anger and frustration being (mis)directed against a target enemy for blame. So yes, people will react initially “OMG! How dare he!!” Then suddenly they can feel safer living their lives than ever before…? They may or may not reach any specific conclusions about the people who ran things before Trump fixed it, but they will NOT want to go back.
You’re seeing a lot of talk that violent crime in the District of Columbia is at a “30 year low.”
That appears to come from a press release sent out by the Biden Justice Department on January 3, 2025, during the transition, with the headline “Violent Crime in DC Hits 30 Year Low.”
You also know there have been questions about Metropolitan Police Department crime statistics, so some elements of the press release’s reference to “total violent crime” might be in question.
One thing that is clear is that DC homicides are not at a 30 year low. Just look at this chart and you will see that the years 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, and 2006 all had fewer homicides than 2024.
