As far as jobs numbers go, we have thousands of illegals exiting the job market, and those numbers are tracked the same as someone getting fired or quitting, We also have many thousands of government parasites leaving their federal employment. For statistics strictly showing job numbers the fact that the needle didn’t move much despite all of that is a huge plus. It means a huge number of Americans got jobs.

I was participating with reporting to the BLS at the time and saw the change in the numbers. I remember Sundance reporting on it. I heard on Bannon this morning from EJ Antoni that BLS is still going to revise the job numbers for frickin’ 2024 AGAIN. I stopped participating because of the made up numbers. BLS likes a company like what I work for – it’s temporary staffing. Temporary staffing is a key indicator of jobs. And jobs are finally starting to heat up. It’s been crap since the end of 2023 and the first 5 months of 2025 have been awful. The worst my boss has seen since 2009.
Good grief, they have been cooking the numbers since 2021.

When the dust settles they need to stop all these adjustments and fire those making them.
Compare this month’s numbers to same month last year, this year’s quarter to the same quarter last year. That comparison is apples to apples. We do not need a huge adjustment bureau that politicizes the numbers.

The Labor statistics have always been wonky. Wait for the revisions in the following month which no one pays attention to.
The difference is that up to this point, all the revisions for Trump have been up. All Obama’s and Biden’s were down. They were always bent in favor of Democrats for decades. Of extreme importance to me is the 12 month population-adjusted change in employment which now has an unbroken negative string of prints going back to December of 2023 and this month is -3.380 million. This is an indicator that very rarely shows this pattern and when it does it portends extremely serious economic dislocations (think 2008!) in the offing. It is worthless for exact timing but very useful as an indicator as to whether you want to take risk on a forward 12 or 24 month basis: Doing so when this indicator is showing trouble, which is quite rare, has historically proved to be very unwise.
Another guy said it was the huge downward (-258,000) revision for June non-farm payroll which he said was the largest monthly downward revisions of previous employment figures since the global financial crisis.
“As of August 1, 2025, precise data on the total number of illegal immigrants deported by the Trump administration since taking office in January 2025 is limited and inconsistent across sources. The most specific figures available indicate that the Trump administration claimed to have deported 139,000 illegal immigrants within its first 100 days, as stated in a White House press release from April 28, 2025.”
With that and self-deportations, I wonder how much that has effected employment numbers.
Anyway, I give government supplied economic figures about this much >< credibility.
BLS depends on the reporting of data from multiple sources. They have a deadline. Every month they base their report on incomplete data because sources are tardy. Later, when the tards cough up their numbers, we get the revision. BLS allows this to continue. BLS needs a new model with dependable, timely sources.
The only good thing about this is that it happened on a Friday.
Apparently nobody in the White House was on hand to calm him down, seek out facts, and put off such actions for a week or two.

Timing maybe yes. That said. Her numbers over the last 2 years have been very inaccurate. Over 800K inflated job numbers in 2024 that were published for months without correction. Now, we have another significant error in reported numbers. Even if there is no political bias (there is) the fact they are so inaccurate is grounds for firing. When you miss the numbers so much consistently over the last 2 years you should be removed. Need to review the mechanics behind calculating these numbers as it seems what we have now doesn’t give us numbers we can rely on.

I was complaining about the BLS for the last 4 years under Biden where it was obvious they were cooking the books on the monthly numbers which were almost always revised to the negative the following month(s) and the yearly summary as well.
Now they seem to be cooking the books against President Trump. This firing should have taken place back in January after inauguration.
