srael Update:
–Gaza: There is no known answer as to the Witkoff’s proposal of a deal. What they did publish is a demand for a complete defeat of the IDF with no way to fight them while they grow again.  While they paint it as if they are totally willing and Israel is the block.  
I mean that there is no known answer to Witkoff through the mediators.   

Al Jazeera published a map of Israel’s proposed withdrawal.  See the red line in the image above.  It shows that we are still holding some 40% of Gaza including Rafah.  If this is true data then it reduces the chances of a deal significantly.  If this is the case then the visit of Bibi to the White House was more for coordination than a hostage deal.  Israel is holding a lot of what it gained since March when the ceasefire ended.  And, this is exactly what was said then, that “this time we clear zones and hold them so they better make a deal fast or they lose more land”.  

Meanwhile the IDF is pounding Gaza badly.  Increasing the pressure.  

The area in which we got hit badly last week with 5 killed and about 14 injured is called Beit Hanun is also very close to the border and served to launch the 10/7 in a specific area of massacre. The IDF had a lot of casualties there since the maneuver started and it is an icon of resistance in Gaza.  The area will no longer be a problem.  It is flattened and we got one of the stronger forces surrounding it and taking care of the underground too.  See image. 

-Netanyahu is appearing on the media and saying that “he had it all coordinated with Trump”.  Things that we don’t know. I can assume that Trump gets it.  That Israel can’t stop the war when Hamas is standing and regrows. 

 But he also coordinated other things which I am sure were discussed: How we will deal with Hamas to defeat them, with or without a deal.  The US upcoming talks with Iran. Israel wants that the buried enriched uranium will be dug out and sent out of Iran as a part of any deal.  The future peace deals.  Open Immigration of Gazans, out of Gaza. 

 Israel may be pressured for some concessions, but the blessing is that it is Trump and he is not blinded by a Progressive Liberal world view which is blind to evil and how to deal with it.  

Again, there are factors which the West and even Trump may not be aware of. You have to be local to see it. For example: recently the Hamas is more daring and had some success in killing and injuring IDF soldiers.  They film it as a major part for boosting morale and motivation.  They are emboldened and excited.  Our enemies appear to have two main  frames of minds: The excitement and elation related to killing Jews or the whining and crying for being victims.  Pretty binary (black and white) states of minds.  Right now they are excited.  This makes a deal less likely.  

The other factor that is invisible or suppressed by the West right now is the double faced aspect of the mediator Qatar.  Qatar is actively trying to make Hamas survive.  Hamas and Qatar are ideologically close, they are both “students” of the Muslim Brotherhood.
If Qatar truly wanted to help, they would have threatened Hamas in deportation of their leaders who are living in Qatar.  They would threaten in dropping any financial support and media support.  They are not fully using their power. They are double faced snakes. 
Israel has an open bill with them for their part in 10/7, financial, and in stirring world wide antisemite or hateful media against Israel.   As of now, the Trump’s Administration is broadcasting admiration to Qatar and Witkoff, and the Trump family have financial ties to them. 

There are some talks about getting Qatar join the Abraham Accord.  We are open to see them choose sides.  It is not impossible to see a change.  But it touches deep into their ideological religious beliefs and education.  Not an easy change to be made.  

-Since the war began the IDF lost 890 soldiers.  
448 were killed after 10/7 since the ground maneuver began.  
40 killed since the end of the ceasefire at March 2025.  Close to a half of them in the past couple of weeks.  

-In the past couple of days Israel killed 6 Commanders of the “Navy Seals” of Hamas in a few areas of Gaza.  Also killed a leading Commander of the Islamic Jihad of a major city in Gaza and the Brigade Commander of Hamas in another major city.  

-We are seeing videos of many trucks with aid in Gaza. Not through the Israeli American controlled routes.  They also just got some massive amount of fuel.  
This is enraging many in Israel including soldiers in Gaza.  
There must be an intention of stopping the images of hunger from Gaza (most of it is fake anyways).  There was a main hospital which was shut down with no power due to lack of fuel for the generators.  So there is some logic to it but not really.  It is hard to defeat an enemy while feeding it.  And realize that the ventilation for tunnels requires fuel.  
I can only say that maybe it is temporary before Hamas says “yes”or “no” to the deal. 
A “no” will promote a new operation that includes mobilization of the population to the south and compete control over the aid situation.  

-So what’s Netanyahu’s end-game in Gaza?
Cabinet Minister Orit Struck in an interview:
“There is a perception in the cabinet that guides the Prime Minister and minister Ron Dermer, and I know they shared this with the President of the United States, which says that the Gaza event is strategic. Both because of October 7th, and because there is no depth of territory in the Gaza Strip on Israel’s side. Therefore, Gaza needs to be demilitarized. There is an understanding that Gaza will not be rehabilitated at all until it is demilitarized, that the IDF must have military control from end to end, and that the way to achieve this now is humanitarian separation. Whoever is outside the separation will receive nothing, and that is what is supposed to subdue them. Everyone in the cabinet shares this opinion.”

Greetings Treepers! ☝️✝️☝️

For Caturday, I’ll tell you about Gabby.

Gabby is strictly an inside kitty.

Gabby is a rescue. We got her when she was less than 1 year old, I would guess she was 6-7 months old when we brought her home from the shelter over 12 years ago.

She is a grey and black American Short Hair. Her stripped markings are perfectly symmetrical on her face and head, and nearly so over her entire body. She has a bit of white which fades to light smokey brown just around her nose/muzzle, otherwise she is all grey and black except on her belly where she has the whiteish smoky brown fur again. Her paw pads are all flesh colored. here eyes a light yellow. She has a slight nick in her left ear denoting that she was spayed.

We named her Gabby because that’s what she is. She loves to vocalize and will have a conversion with you. Believe me, if her food bowl is empty and she’s hungry or there is something else she thinks should have attention your going to know about it and there is no ignoring her.

Though Gabby will let you know exactly where she has seen a mouse, she has never caught one. But that’s ok, it’s fine with me that she alerts me to their presence and where she last saw them. I take care of the rest.

She loves for us to play with her, but is also very good at entertaining herself.

She loves her lovins. If I go into the bedroom to lay down and take a nap in the afternoon, she’ll follow me in, that is if she isn’t already curled up with Sherry on the couch or in the recliner. She’ll climb right up on my chest after I lay down wanting pets and head scratches. And she’ll be purring. The more I pet her at those times, the closer she will move her face to mine. Same at bed time. But if I’m not in the mood or am done she’ll jump off my chest and go to the bottom of the bed. She watches TV quite a bit in the bedroom when we have it on. Especially likes animal programs. All the being said, Gabby does not walk around and rub up against ones lower leg like many cats will do. She’ll be there close but doesn’t rub. She is a kneader though when she is particularly content.

She is not allowed on any counter or table and she obeys that rule unless there is a plant or flowers on one of the tables, then there is absolutely no doubt that she’ll sneak up there and chew on the greenery. But I have never seen her on the kitchen counter or the island no matter what happens to be up there. I think she’s just too lazy to jump that high. But other than her weakness for plants, she has never done any damage to anything else in the house.

Gabby has it made. There are several different places she can look outside and she uses them all. But her kitty tower in the Sun room by the window closest to the bird feeders is her favorite. I keep that window slid open a bit when weather allows, even at night. I love it when she gets excited by some bird or critter and starts kind of chirping. Her next favorite place is the bay window in the front of the house during the afternoon. That window faces west and is where she catches her afternoon rays.

During the cold months she loves her fires in the fireplace insert. She keeps and eye on me and comes over to supervise when I go to build a fire. She also loves to sniff and investigate the firewood in the rack. She has her own cat bed near the insert where it blows out the warm air but sometimes she wants to get closer than where we put the bed and stretches out on the hearth rug right in front of the thing so that I have to make her move when it’s time to feed the fire. Her and Keisha, our older Cocker, both love laying in front of the insert soaking up the heat. Sometimes I wonder how that cat doesn’t burst into flames.

Gabby has been a very healthy cat, though she does puke occasionally. I think she was hungry at one time and sometimes over eats. She thinks her bowl is empty if she can see part of the bottom of it. She’ll also cough up the occasional fur ball. For having fairly short hair she sure sheds quite a bit.

Anyway, she’s ours, and we love her.

As I’m sitting here in the sun room enjoying my morning coffee a peacock came walking up to my critter feeding area.

A month or so ago several got loose from someplace around here and we hear and see them occasionally. But this is the first time one has come to feed here.
