Announcement from Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins: “I have ordered an immediate shutdown of live cattle, bison, and horse trade through the southern U.S.–Mexico border. This decisive action comes after Mexico confirmed another case of New World Screwworm in Veracruz.”
(Washington, D.C., July 9, 2025)– Yesterday, Mexico’s National Service of Agro-Alimentary Health, Safety, and Quality (SENASICA) reported a new case of New World Screwworm (NWS) in Ixhuatlan de Madero, Veracruz in Mexico, which is approximately 160 miles northward of the current sterile fly dispersal grid, on the eastern side of the country and 370 miles south of the U.S./Mexico border.
This new northward detection comes approximately two months after northern detections were reported in Oaxaca and Veracruz, less than 700 miles away from the U.S. border, which triggered the closure of our ports to Mexican cattle, bison, and horses on May 11, 2025.
[…] Therefore, in order to protect American livestock and our nation’s food supply, Secretary Rollins has ordered the closure of livestock trade through southern ports of entry effective immediately. (read more)

Beef prices are already astronomical.
The messed up part is that we IMPORT beef from Mexico and EXPORT our beef to other countries!
And the prices are indeed insane.
yes the entire world economy seems rigged to add a middle man for shipping. just like healthcare has the middle man of insurance. classic cartel structure. they get you coming, going, inside, outside, frontwards, backwards, and upside down. everything is rigged and everyone is on the take.
Rigged. Yes 100%.
Everything. Of course knowledge is power, and those that are aware of this are, or have made changes.
Unfortunately for those that were administered the clot shot, and those that died etc.
The Covid scam and all that came afterwards was the great wake-up for anyone conscious.
Imagine being in a “15 minute “ and being subject to such control.
Cheers!
Been in the ER 3 times in the last 2 months. I seen it with my own eyes… Covid Killed Heath care. Imagine two RN nurses trying to put in a catheter in my bladder, thinking they had to go around my prostate? I was a bloody mess before I stopped them!
This is where the corruption is. The “middle man” companies, foundations, NGOs, charities are where the congressional cockroaches dispense the trillion$ to family, friends, donors and concubines. That’s why the gummint requires 100 times as much money to run an operation as a private company.
And, AgSec Rollins was a Big Ag lobbyist.
And, as study made reveals, that “middle” quotient is the past through of funding the demise of competition.
…aaaand? Bent over!🕶️
ditto
This too will change under President Trump.
Beef prices have risen substantially since January. There is only so much a President can do.
When? I live in beef country and want beef to eat but it’s too expensive and it keeps going up .
I did not know that!
I am mad all the time about seeing foreign avocados in our grocery stores here in southern California with our own beautiful avocados in Fallbrook.
We used to pick up the avocadoes ….like the mangos…off the ground in the old Canal Zone…, more flavorful back then…no GMO or hybrid. The avocado tree in our back yard was older than the canal.
suejeanne: Same here, and I’ve seen the avocado orchards in Fallbrook. Where does that crop go? Not Los Angeles.
Those avocado farms used to be everywhere from Poway, Escondido & Fallbrook (SD North County) that you could buy them on the side of the road. They are still available in stores too.
I grew up In Escondido and they were everywhere.
They slowly have disappeared as the CA stupid water restrictions for the Delta Smelt made it too expensive to farm and add the housing developments and bye CA Avocado supplies.
I am still surprised when I am in So Cal at how cheap the avo’s are compared to up here in No. Idaho they are much more expensive.
you should move back!
if you go back a bit, sundance has some good articles on what they are doing to cause this. wallstreet
That’s the global trade..
Profit by toll taxing everything via everything must be shipped elsewhere
agree with this 100%.
we also import a good amount of beef from canada.
but the point is the same –
American born, bred, raised, and processed beef should be available to the American market FIRST,
then exported as quantities allow.
the current business model of the multinationals needs realigning pronto – by carrot or stick.
Canadian dollar=73cents American
Peso =0.054 American
Lots of money to be made in the exchange rates.
Or both, if necessary!
Bidenista’s closed millions of government owned grazing acreage that used to be leased to beef cattle producers. All part of the fraudulent New Green Deal.
Doug Burgum has reversed this, but it will take time to get production back up.
Funny how suddenly we’re dealing with a screwworm epidemic now that grazing lands have been re-opened.
Gosh, where might have that come from?
A local cattle rancher here in Utah told me that thousands of acres of solar farms have been leased instead of being available for his cattle grazing. His home is now surrounded on three sides by those obnoxious panels. He said he’s being forced to retire and his sons won’t inherit a multi-generational business.
That’s their goal…end the American dream
Thank John Curtis, the Mitt Romney wanna-be
I’d tell you what I think of that gutless, lying jerk but my comment would get censored. Utah made a bad mistake when they elected Curtis. He’s absolutely a RINO/DIABLO and should NEVER have been in Congress in the first place, much less a Senator.
Fires will fix that
Oh, we’re getting screwormed all right. Good and hard.
Lessons learned from Enron?
Hopefully, the quantity of beef exported will go down as demand goes up here
More money for exporting the beef …so we will be getting leftovers
I’m in Ohio and import my beef from Kentucky. Costs me $6/lb. for a side of beef that is far superior to any store bought beef. Support your local farmer.
Yes, anti socialist I do that too. Local is the best. So far, a farmer locally can do it cheaper and better.
Hence you find a local provider/farm. Find a family or two and share the cost for a 1/2 or whole steer. There are local options for [almost] every staple you buy in a store.
I seem to recall that back in the Mad Cow crisis, America wanted to put COOL(country of origin locator) labeling on all beef products sold here, but it was shot down by the WTO, I think it was.
Perhaps what you stated is the reason why-importers and exporters of beef products would have a cover.
At any rate, it should be revised, the WTO be damned.
Yes, and our useless U.S. Senate caved to the WTO on that issue.
I’m old enough to remember when beef from mejico and all countries south were not fit to come into our country, let alone fit to eat.
That’s the way globalization works! Maybe it’s time Sundance posted his thesis on globalization and price fixing again.
that was the article that hooked me here. i have that printed and saved for quick reference
“………..we IMPORT beef from Mexico and EXPORT our beef to other countries!”
Buy at a low price. Sell at a high price. Our markets do the same thing with crude oil.
Beef would be even more astronomical if the U.S. herd is infected with screwworm.
How would we know?
Doubting everything.
Remember when China had similar, and PDJT had leverage over them in exporting our beef
Now…about those Chinese ‘scientists’ arrested for bringing in fungi samples…
what else did they bring in?

Uh oh, the beef supply is threatened. Timing is everything… Epstein who???????
I have seen screw worm infestation. You’d know it if you saw it.
So you too visited DC?
You crushed that one…
I have lived and cowboyed most of my life. If you have ever seen sctewworms on cattle you would understand the ban. Screw worms eat huge holes in cattle. Buy you beef locally. Better meat. Better taste. Better price.
Not if we eat our own damn beef! And pork. And chicken. See a pattern?
and shrimp. I can’t eat seafood in this country anymore, even if it’s wildcaught and NOT farm raised, i get sick like food-poisoning
Then there is this:
https://www.live5news.com/2025/07/02/live-shrimpers-group-name-restaurants-sued-misrepresenting-shrimp-origin/
Just make sure that you only buy your shrimp from the Bubba-Gump Shrimp Company.
And that’s all I’ve got to say about that……….
Have anti-parasitics on hand to get you through any issue like this.
Ivermectin and Mebendazole are a few. Chlorine dioxide is readily available.
FINAL WARNING Dr Mike Yeadon Interview – YouTube
Yep…ivermectin a must right now. The push in CONgress SHOULD be for over-the-counter status for these meds.
The attacks on our food supply are just ramping up…it has been going on for awhile yet we had no one at FDA or Ag to watch over this.
Control the food supply…control the people.
And yet, the USDA was hassling Amish farmers!
I hope that since Scott Presler worked with so many of the Amish people to vote for President Trump that he has or will be sure that the USDA is not any longer hassling Amish farmers who should be cherished and given high regard for their careful farming!
Many Amish farms around East Palestine, Ohio and eastward into PA.
Under Biden
There are many on-line pharmacies in the US that can deliver Ivermectin to your door without a prescription.
sent us names..
http://www.alldaychemist.com
They source IVM from India and Indonesia. I’ve used them for five years.
Some compounding pharmacies are now providing IVM made in the US.
Dutchman had a good IVM contact. He posted it numerous times.
(Not sure how to search for that, but certainly someone here does)
“CONgress” 😆😂
someone call them CO-heNgre$$…..
mRNA being injected into our food supply terrifies me!
Won’t help against screw worm. The flies look for an in, like a mosquito bite you been scratching, any broken skin, then they land and lay eggs. Whole thing just takes a second. You most likely won’t see or feel it. When they hatch tiny maggots burrow in. Unless it’s an unusual location, it’s not going to kill you. But it hurts. Bad. They’re eating you alive, tunneling around inside you. Once they’ve had enough and reached maturity they tunnel out and fall to the ground. They tunnel into the dirt and become a chrysalis. Later a grown fly hatches out and the cycle repeats. The only treatment is to dig them out. If you try they instinctively tunnel in deeper, it’s how they got the name. We’ve been giving money to Panama for decades to keep them in check using irradiated sterile flies, but we just found out that program was allowed to decay under Joebama. Your real issue is the wildlife. Herds can be culled. The deer and hogs? Not so much.
Thank you. There’s a lot of confusion about this out there.
You just described the Senate.
What about our northern border for crooks sneaking in infected cattle and or meat.? WHY isn’t it a TOTAL border ban?
These are not intestinal parasites. They are larvae from
a fly.
I wonder if Ivermectin paste, which can be used on the skin (and is being used by people who have skin cancer), would work to fight Screw worm infestations?
Give them time. I’m sure the powers that be can make that happen.
Pictures of cattle infected and dying of screwworm disease are horrific: eaten from the inside and out. We don’t want it here! Thanks Duffy for doing your job!
Infected and suffering terribly I should have said./
Sean Duffy is Sec Trans, Brooke Rollins is Sec Ag.
SPOILER ALERT: A deliberate attack on our food supply chains by the DS. More restaurants to close.
Oh Lord, hear our prayers.
China has been attacking our food supply.
Because of globalism, invasive plants, animals, insects, fungi and disease is now rampant in this country. The world has gotten very small.
Not to mention whatever the hell those food like substances are they sell from thousands of Chinese restaurants all over the Country.
We are at war. PDJT had to combat it without freaking us out.
You can see just by the mention of it people start getting all Walking Dead already
WW3 will not look like WW2 just as WW2 didn’t look like WW1
Don’t give in to your worst imaginings
Recall the 10,000+ cattle that perished in KS several years ago?
This screwworm threat from Mexico has been known about for 6-8 mos.
Whenever the price of a product becomes expensive, first look to the government as the root cause. Markets move up and down through competition and innovation. Bureaucratic regulations are a bottleneck and much additional expense to the consumer.
The government’s bottlenecking regulations resulting in additional expense . . . but not safety and quality!
And, Pelosi gets advanced insight. Another good trade!
I’d half expect an announcement of lab grown meat in the near future available for sale on the market to give people a “safer” alternative.
Control the food supply and control humanity.
“……………..an announcement of lab grown meat in the near future…………..”
And grown in a lab in Wuhan China, perhaps?
Likely funded with an EcoHealth Alliance grant through the National Institutes of Health and somehow Fauci owns a patent used in it.
Billy G. has his fingers in that, too.
A few months ago, this was mentioned in the news, but quietly, from the same locations. AM thinking it might have moved further north by now?
There were also strong hints of
vaccinating said cattle….with…
“wait for it”….an mRNA vaccine….sorry, no links…they want that garbage in us even if it kills us.
there is no vaccine, mRna or otherwise, for new world screwworm prevention.
a little like the conundrum of tick collars for dogs –
they only kill the tick if it bites the animal thereby ingesting the anthelmintic,
but if they bite the animal, they theoretically have already transmitted the diseases
that you put the tick collar on to prevent.
https://utbeef.tennessee.edu/livestock-health-beware-of-new-world-screwworm/
“there is no vaccine, mRNA or otherwise, for NWS prevention.” You can say the same thing for Covid too!
Michael Yon has been warning about this for months, https://x.com/Michael_Yon
Michael Yon is a deep state shill/psyop and never defends President Trump. Just listen to his interviews, he talks in circles never saying anything. His X feed is not MAGA friendly. Just saying.
He’s been very forthright about his feelings on Trump, he doesn’t trust him but is glad to help if given the opportunity. He praised Trump for shuttering USAID but said without defunding the UN, it wouldn’t make much difference.
The point is not to agree with Trump, the goal is America first and to bring power back to the people and away from Wall Street.
https://x.com/Michael_Yon/status/1942664666112753914
I have come across some interviews with Whitney Webb recently. What she says is thought provoking and gives me a different understanding of the elites and their motivations within MAGA. She is well versed in politics, and she is a clear and articulate speaker. She is for neither party and provides the facts and history to back up what she says.
Trump is a great leader for America, but he has a strong connection to Larry Fink, and lots of others in both Finance and Big Tech that we should all be aware of. He used Fink in his last term and probably will do so in this one.
Too many questions are coming to surface that are unsettling. Trump, through Tony Blair’s plan was planning to re-develop Gaza in the 1990’s. Huh?
And why would he be upset at a reporter asking deeper questions about Epstein? That is what America wants and needs. Deeper questions from the press and expecting answers.
“Trust, but verify.”
I wonder if Larry Fink is the “friend” according to what POTUS said, who hadn’t been to see his own mother for over 10 years? President Trump said that was bad. If so, maybe he won’t be using Fink after all.
Is Yon as forthright and distrustful about his feelings towards anything on the progressive side as well?
Learn something new every day at CTH. We import bison from MX?
(love Bison as an occasional substitute for beef)
Ivermectin is a preferred treatment, as an antiparasitic.
Further reason for allowing over-the-counter sales and use of IVM.
I’m pretty sure you can buy it over the counter already at tractor supply.
Hence why everyone called it horse paste during Covid.
Not all horse pastes are created equally..
I remember the CDC’s condescending tweet, “you’re not a horse!” Many medical truthers revealed the effectiveness of Ivermectin. Big pharma is the culprit. (And our 3 letter agency bureaucrats.)
The CDC didn’t realize we could do simple math. x number of grams times body weight.
Go figure.. 😉
and of course faucci didn’t own any Ivermectin stock.
Yep.
When the wife and I caught C-19 during the Christmas season, maybe 2020, we simply rested, drank plenty of fluids, and dipped into the Ivermectin stock. I lost quite a few pounds, otherwise, it was like nasty flu. And I’m a member of what is classified the Ye Olde Pharte demographic…
I had the original strain in SE MI in late December 2019, three months before the March shutdowns. It was a nasty flu, lasted 3 or 4 days, and I was tired for a couple of weeks afterward. Didn’t yet know it was anything different than flu, didn’t take any meds. If I had known about ivm I would have used it. TG I never got the shots!
Neither the wife or I opted for the jab and clearly told anyone attempting to pressure us, NO.
Anytime I’m being pressured to be a guinea pig, I draw a hard line.
Unfortunately we know many who did take the shot and have suffered the consequences, including some youngsters of friends and acquaintances.
I was using IVM from India since early 2020.
Started using it for control of rosacea. My dermatologist said it was useful. Asked her to precribe IVM. She declined to do so, due to threats of the loss of her medical license from her state board.
Arkansas has now made the tablets legally available as OTC. However, it is not yet available in many places due to the propaganda from the media.
There are still people who claim it will “keel” you.
It is available in Tennessee.
Oopsies, I should have scrolled…
Tennessee has some pharmacies in selected locations, that sell it…not your corporate type ie Walgreens etc.
Same with Idaho-they made it legal to buy OTC.
The best source hands down for ivermectin is brooksagnew.com. Brooks sells it at cost without a prescription. It comes direct from the manufacturer in about 10 days. Me and thousands of others have gotten it from Brooks who is a nationally known conservative and a great guy.
Thanks for the reference….
Ordered some!
Thanks for the link
😀😀
Indeed. We have horses and a need for worming said horses periodically, not to mention ourselves should the need arise.
Something else to consider:
https://www.webmd.com/diet/health-benefits-diatomaceous-earth
But do your own research…good bad, I don’t know…
Warnings on the labels of all the horse pastes is “not to be used on animals intended for human consumption” or something like that. I wonder why? All of the de-parasite meds are used in humans anyway.
Ivermectin is OTC in TN. There’s a pharmacy in Cookeville TN that my brother in Mesa AZ orders from, used to be the order was shipped directly to my brother. Now, it’s shipped in me in TN and I send it on. If I remember it was $30 for a 30 day supply or maybe it was $80. I can’t remember. I just know that my local pharmacy in Franklin was $180/30day.
Veterinarian.
While ivermectin can be an effective part of treating a NWS-infected animal, you’d have to administer ivermectin to every warm-blooded animal, wild or domestic, including humans, every two weeks, to be an effective preventative.
Release of irradiated sterile male flies is a proven, effective strategy, which was used in the 1950s-1970s to eradicate NWS from USA & Mexico, pushing it back below the Panama Canal zone.
absolutely accurate.
screwworm has been around a long time.
but it can be eradicated with aggressive SIT.
a little more light reading for those interested 😁 :
https://todaysveterinarypractice.com/parasitology/what-veterinarians-need-to-know-about-screwworms/
and a very readable and accurate entry from Wikipedia (yes, Wikipedia):
In 1954, the first tests using the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) were conducted on Curaçao, whereupon the New World screwworm fly was successfully eliminated from the island within four months. From 1958 to 1960, the species was eliminated from the southeastern United States, followed by the southwestern United States. Since 1966, the species has been considered extinct throughout the United States.
Eradication efforts continued in Mexico (1972–1991), the Virgin Islands (1971–1972), Puerto Rico (1975), and in Central America from Guatemala (1988–1994) to Belize (1988–1994), El Salvador (1991–1995), Honduras (1991–1995), Nicaragua
(1992–1999), and Costa Rica (1995–2000). In 1998, the first sterile flies were released in Panama.
The goal is to create a permanent barrier against New World screwworm fly invasions in Panama.
This is achieved through weekly sterile New World screwworm fly releases of up to 50 million insects. The insects are bred en masse in factories, treated with ionizing radiation, and thus sterilized.

Chlorine dioxide will eliminate most every parasite in short order.
That is why it is referred to as The Universal Antidote.
Readily available for everyone.
Educate yourself.
It will keep you well, keep you out of the hospital system and keep your money in your pocket.
any recommendation for “medicinal” use is EXTREMELY problematic.
use as a disinfectant is well documented,
but with strict guideline to avoid toxicity.
i strongly suggest you further research the topic.
Doseage is important for everything.
thanks for bringing that up, annieoakley!😁
there has been a great deal of backlash against a medical system that thinks it’s infallible,
and rightly so, IMO.
but concurrently, i hold the same opinion on snake oil, laetrile, MMS, and other fad “cure alls”.
individual views and choices may differ, but not everyone will exercise due diligence on these issues, thus making informed consent impossible from the get go.
the consequences of that can be tragic.
therefore, general recommendations in a public forum for drug use, protocols, dosage, frequency, concentration, application, etc. are to be approached with caution.
i do consider off label recommendations for IVM and fenbendazole
/mebendazole to be sort of a special case – both are human approved, toxicity studies done, reliable dosage info available, have wide safety margins, been in use for many years, etc.
just my opinion on the matter, your mileage may vary.😉
I have been using it for 5+ years. Ends cold, flu, COVID, etc. in days if not hours.
This ‘snake oil’ is used every day to purify YOUR public drinking water. You just are not aware of it.
Research chorine dioxide yourself, but please don’t provide your uneducated opinion.
The FDA is clearly bought and paid for by big pharma.
The recent admittance from the FDA that they approved over 500 drugs without showing they provided ANY benefit for their intended use should cause one to pause.
Read the warning label on the drugs you’re taking and then we can talk about safe and effective.
well aware of it’s use in water purification, etc.
that’s one of the “disinfectant” uses.
“uneducated” seems rather antagonistic. 😂
i keep my long ago earned bona fides to myself
rather than get into a debate regarding the relative merits of those attained today.
we WERE discussing one chemical compound, not a full array of FDA complaints.
my drug intake consists solely of aspirin, and i have read the warning label.👍🏻🤣
you might already know that incidental findings do not prove efficacy.
when you have a placebo controlled, double blind research trial and several years of clinical use data to back up your claims, i’ll be happy to read through all of it. 😁
good luck to you!
Old Zonian here…now for a moment…what happened in 1979?

PLEASE. Screw worm is not an internal/intestinal parasite, and ivermectin is not effective against it.
Have dear American friends who are legal immigrants from China. Her parents will be coming to the U.S. in a couple months, so I asked my friend if she’d see if her parents can bring a lot of Ivermectin with them when they come.
She’s gotten me other scary strong parasitics that I’ll never use, but I’ll keep them for a just-in-case day.
Good thing the Mashed Potato in Chief isn’t in charge or he’d be flying screw worms all over the US!
Better go buy a bunch of meat.
I deal with local ranchers and the State’s Dept. of Ag to buy sides of beef at a time. Typically grass fed Black Baldys. Excellent price for quality beef.
Is there a thriving cross border trade in livestock?
Note, this is livestock, not beef.
You’re right, beef comes from the supermarket and not livestock 🤦♂️
haha, I am aware of that. I thought it was unlikely that we were importing live cattle to turn into beef in meaningful numbers. My thinking which may well be incorrect, is that it has to be cheaper to process the cattle in Mexico and import beef rather than live on the hoof.
Interesting, I did a quick search (how much cattle imported from Mexico to US and why) and the info made sense: looks like about 1 million head annually to supplement based on regional weather conditions in US that affect cost and size. Seasonal issues too (I’ve heard it’s cold in Wyoming in the winter).
I’m all for domestic production, but seasonal issues make sense in order to stabilize and level production/profit.
The US, Mexico and Canada could be very self-sufficient if the people were left to prosper without the leftist trying to “help”. The people of Mexico need to reclaim their country from the Cartels’ corruption that’s infected governance.
I want to know how much of these diseases are just natural occurrences versus Fauci-like research to create solutions for problems that only exist due to the very research.
ah ok I see. cool that you did the search, thanks.
I believe we also import beef from Brazil.
So mexican cows are now being infested with democrats, I mean screw worms.
No cure…
No cure for the ‘Schiff explains a few things about Congress critters.
I’d say a pox on them, RF.
But they are already infected.

I feel bad for the livestock. Animals good, people bad.
“We Are Screwed” Worm
We import about 3% of our feeder steers from Mexico. They mostly are sent to pasture to be grazed to a larger size until they go to the feed lot for finishing.
If the ban stays in place, steers for grazing on winter pasture may be hard to acquire. Those steers will stay in Mexico for grazing. If the ban continues, someone will set up and feed the steers in Mexico and will then ship them to the US already slaughtered into beef halves (swinging beef).
It should not affect the supply of meat at market but could cause longer term effects on grazing, finishing and slaughter of cattle.
Is this another attack on the small cattleman to put him out of business and move business to Mexico? New screwworm has a peculiar ring to it after over 40 years of no problem.
That’s why I buy (online) Riverbend Ranch Black Label Beef it’s grown without added hormones and without antibiotics. I learned to trust them.
I get mine out of the pasture.
Stealth, accidental or intentional biowarfare. The timing is too convenient. Something related to the invasion must have had something to do with it.
The Screwworm Is Coming
May 27, 2025
https://www.yahoo.com/news/man-eater-screwworm-coming-131542658.html
The United States has, for 70 years, been fighting a continuous aerial war against the New World screwworm, a parasite that eats animals alive: cow, pig, deer, dog, even human. (Its scientific name, C. hominivorax, translates to “man-eater.”) Larvae of the parasitic fly chew through flesh, transforming small nicks into big, gruesome wounds. But in the 1950s, the U.S. Department of Agriculture laid the groundwork for a continent-wide assault. Workers raised screwworms in factories, blasted them with radiation until they were sterile, and dropped the sterile adult screwworms by the millions—even hundreds of millions—weekly over the U.S., then farther south in Mexico, and eventually in the rest of North America.
The sterile flies proceeded to, well, screw the continent’s wild populations into oblivion, and in 2006, an invisible barrier was established at the Darién Gap, the jungle that straddles the Panama-Colombia border, to cordon the screwworm-free north off from the south. The barrier, as I observed when I reported from Panama several years ago, consisted of planes releasing millions of sterile screwworms to rain down over the Darién Gap every week. This never-ending battle kept the threat of screwworms far from America.
But in 2022, the barrier was breached. Cases in Panama—mostly in cattle—skyrocketed from dozens a year to 1,000, despite ongoing drops of sterile flies. The parasite then began moving northward, at first slowly and then rapidly by 2024, which is when I began getting alarmed emails from those following the situation in Central America. As of this month, the parasite has advanced 1,600 miles through eight countries to reach Oaxaca and Veracruz in Mexico, with 700 miles left to go until the Texas border. The U.S. subsequently suspended live-cattle imports from Mexico.
After this latest news broke, I spoke with Wayne Cockrell, a Texas rancher who fears the screwworm’s return to Texas is now a matter of when, not if. The anti-screwworm program cannot produce enough sterile flies to stop the parasite’s advance, much less beat it back down to Panama, Cockrell explained. He has followed the outbreak closely as the chair of the cattle-health committee for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, even visiting the sterile-fly factory recently. “There’s a sense of dread on my part now,” he told me.

The United States of America is IOM’s top donor and its contributions form the foundation of the support received by the Organization. This generous funding is primarily provided through the Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration and the Agency for International Development (USAID).
The timing raises eyebrows for sure. Increase from dozens to thousands so quickly is intentional. All it would take would be someone spreading nonradiated flies faster than the sterilized ones being spread. Way easier to pull off than releasing a gain of function created virus into the world
Bring back the old Canal Zone and the ‘American Canal’….run it like it was run in the 60’s and 70’s…problem could be arrested.

The Chinese have controlled the Panama Canal Zone for years is my guess. The Chinese own the UN and most of its satellite agencies except Maybe the WHO which is Bill Gates’ baby.
Wow. This is the first time I am Thankful for that tick that gave me Alpha Galactose.
When is everyone else going to be as freaked out as I am that the USDA is about to dose the meat chickens with an updated mRNA mutation kill shot for Bird Flu Variants, now that beef will be “unobtanium”??
So the USDAG expects quality, clean imports from a 3rd world, cartel run shiitehole?
Sorry, I don’t buy food or anything else from drug dealing, human & child sex slave traffickers.
Close the dam border!
Kudos, Sundance, for picking up on this several weeks ago, it’s still not getting the attention it deserves, hope everyone forwards this for the max exposure!
DDT ended this plague long ago. It can do it again.
Growing up in Gamboa, Canal Zone, we used to ride our bicycles behind the mosquito truck that was spewing clouds of DDT…maybe its toxic and maybe its not…but I am still alive by the grace of God…
DDT mixed with diesel fuel spraying thick grey clouds of mosquito death. Always around creeks, ponds, and other bodies of water. You don’t see it used anymore. Of course it was bad for human kids. We had the spray trucks up here in Philly in the ‘50s and ‘60s starting in June until stopping in September.
Rachel Carson’s screed was junk science.
Every so often I feel like an old curmudgeon. Usually it has to do with electronic devices or new cars. However when it comes to food I feel like I’m way ahead of the curve. The beef, pork, chicken and eggs I eat are all local to me and has been most of my life. I know the farmers. I know what the animals are fed and I know the butchers. It seems the 20 and 30 year olds, around here anyway, are starting to figure this out.
Shes finally doing something useful
She was talking about vaccines for this, about a month ago…mRNA vaccines…
President Trump has been saying that food prices are down. Please tell where he shops because is isn’t where I shop. Ground beef is over $7/lb for the lean stuff and around $6/lb for the fatty stuff. The only thing I’ve seen come down is egg prices.
At Aldi in New Ulm, MN my prices are dirt-cheap, relatively speaking. Plus, I have several meat options (Cash Wise, Aldi, HyVee) when I can buy ribeye at $12-15/lb and NY Strips for $11-15/lb. Friday night is our steak night and has been for 5-6 years. At the height of Kung Flu, those are about the prices I paid. Ground beef is surprisingly a bit more stubborn and usually have to pay $5-6/lb on sale.
Putnam county TN: Rib eye is usually $18-$19 per pound. NY strip $16. Ground beef is about what you’re saying. Sometimes the organic ground beef is in sale for cheaper than regular so I get that as often as I can
Don’t come to Florida hungry..
President Trump believes food prices are down because Susie Wiles told him they are down. Where is Melania who can tell him the truth?
PDT is being surrounded by swamp people again.
Susie Wiles/bondi should be on firing list….
Houston area..$6-$ 10.00……
Butter is not down.
I have a difficult time finding A2cottage cheese from natural food stores
All I can say to that is find a local farmer/rancher and make them your BFF, buy a side or whole beef, and put it in the freezer.
The U.S. beef herds have been at an all time low due to drought and it’s going to take years to rebuild the herds.
Beef is at a premium right now and this will make the costs soar.
On the other hand, I’m happy to see this because I avoid cheap meat in the stores due to the terrible practices. People who don’t understand how gross the beef from Mexico is might be upset (MacDonalds for one). I grow my own (not bragging, it’s a lot of work) and the past few years I’ve been growing enough beef out for my extended family. This will not affect me and I am grateful.
We are looking forward to becoming the extended family of someone who produces beef. Family ties are underrated!
Same here. We buy local pasture raised beef, pork, chicken and turkey. Fresh eggs too. BFF – yep! Self serve operation. No appointment needed, we bring our cooler, pay and go. The friendly barn cats are always happy to see us!
But how many of those use vaccines and/or antibiotics? We were buying local but still had no idea about meds given to the cows.
Just ask. My animals are all pasture raised and not vaccinated nor medicated. And it’s becoming more popular to ask the farmer, while some will be offended. You need to find a small operation that has the same values.
Having said that, I will intervene to the save the life of a cow and I have great Vets where I live, but I wouldn’t be selling that meat to anyone else and just put it in my own freezer.
You are a lucky woman.
Most people don’t know the difference between a cow and a steer, much less a know a farmer.
Maybe this will help with the trade imbalance..
Don’t get much meat except chicken but decided I wanted some hamburger patties. Gad I got them because it seems that will be the last for a while. Oh well, life goes on.
I have a low budget meat grinder and grind chicken breast with bacon end cuts and make my own patties and sausage.
I am glad we are able to buy our beef and all meats, eggs, honey and produce from local Regenerative Farms run by Mennonites, Amish and many other Farmers. There is also raw dairy available. I know we are Blessed. It is a trend in my area that is spreading, but not fast enough.
So the US is doing all the work to ensure 100% the safety of the Mexican /South American supply that is only a tiny portion of our supply?
But they do things like allow China to transship fentanyl and run the Panama canal and buy Venezuelan oil (and probably import and release enough fertile flies into the Darien Gap via canal shipments to sabotage the long-standing and successful NWS control mechanism).
Seems like South and Central America have a NATOesque dependence on and attitude toward America for agricultural defense and success.
I wondered if beef prices were expected to soar because fast food ads are suddenly all about delicious pulled pork.
Why did the U.S. stop doing this:
Veterinarian.
While ivermectin can be an effective part of treating a NWS-infected animal, you’d have to administer ivermectin to every warm-blooded animal, wild or domestic, including humans, every two weeks, to be an effective preventative.
Release of irradiated sterile male flies is a proven, effective strategy, which was used in the 1950s-1970s to eradicate NWS from USA & Mexico, pushing it back below the Panama Canal zone.
What came first?
The chicken or the pharmaceutical companies?
In the U.S. we are led to believe the only way to live a healthy life is to be on meds.
Truth is, America is not only the sickest population in the world, but (what a coincidence) we take 80% of all the big pharma drugs.
Hospitals started building massive cancer centers 10+ years ago.
They must have a crystal ball.
BINGO!
Hate to say but I got pathogens from eating a salad. Better not to eat.
In Colordo the ranchers are losing alot of livestock to wolves due to our law to protect the wolves. recently one rancher lost 15 head of cattle in short order. the Range Riders were there but didnt stop it. they were recently added to help the ranchers. the ranchers are not getting fairly reimbursed because the pot of $$ is gone. please someone with a link help me with this. Heidi Ganahl seems to be the one covering it at RMVA. it is infuriating and putting ranchers out of business. Rocky MOUNTAIN VOICE OF AMERICA. needs to be published nationally to discredit Gov Polis. Polis partner was in charge of it for awhile. he knows nothing about ag or wildlife.
I can try to get this out. Thank you! Newspapers and MSM certainly aren’t interested in anything but woke in Colorado.
Such a beautiful state, overrun by a commie Dem legislature
Wolves have made it to California, Southern Sierra Sequoia National Forest, Golden Trout wilderness area. Some believe they are planted.
Oh well. I’ve gotten sick and tired of dissecting the crappy cuts that I can afford anyway. I wasn’t 0ne of the fat kids at the lunch table in elementary school – “You gonna eat your fat?”
Eating animal fat is good for you! I’m a ketovore, it’s better to eat fat and run my body on it, than to eat sugars & starches, and wear the fat. Lately I’ve been living on eggs, heavy cream, butter, beef and bacon. My favorite inexpensive beef steak cut is the Chuck Eye and I choose 23% to 27% fat ground beef for my burgers.
This is a good time for Ellen Musk “super genius” to create new business startup….. “All natural, lab grown, synthetic Tesla Meats”……. /s
I heard Musk is going into the seafood business. He’s gonna raise electric eels…………..
Thank God. I just hope it’s not too late.
From my commercial career days, used to do allot of work at White Sands, NM. We landed in El Paso and would drive past the rather large stock pens between El Paso and Las Cruces.
I hope this at least includes checking and keeping track of ALL the similar stock yards across the US Southern Border.
People are not the only living things trafficked across the Southern Border.
So, is there a united “Warp Speed” battle plan response to combat this problem with all the countries involved/at risk?
Besides from Central and North American problems with screw worm flies, doesn’t Brazil sell us a lot of beef, like around 48,000 metric tons in just April 2025 alone? How do they combat the “screw worm” in South America?
PDJT just slapped a 50% baseline tariff on all Brazilian imports.
The Mexican government is run by the cartels, I recon. They would not have issued this finding before they had a new customer for their cows lined up. Mexico has never had much interest in public health. This is speculation on my part, because I have heretofore never had much interest in cattle markets. But I smell bad fish on this.
Does CCP have anything to do with this? Just sayin’
I thank God that we live in a rural area where local beef is available and sold here!
Live transportation of animals is torture. We shouldn’t put them through that to start with. 😕
and keep it closed
We have a number of farms here in Pennsylvania that sell grass fed beef, pastured pork, raw milk etc. I have been drinking raw milk for a few years now, would never go back to pasteurized. Grass fed butter is very healthy also.
This is why my family buys half a grass fed cow from a local friend every year and stock our freezer. Yes, his price has gone up significantly since covid because of fertilizer costs, but we know what we’re getting. Healthy food is one thing I’m willing to pay a markup for
Does this mean we’re screwed ?
Top round London broil on sale for $3.97/lb at Albertson’s this week.
You’re welcome!
This was fantastic to see Sec. Rollins take such quick action on shutting down the import of those animals.
The speed with which these federal agencies are responding to situations is a great sign that actual changes are happening. Bet the D.O.G.E. teams streamlining agency interactions has a lot to do with the quicker awareness of situations that need federal attention.
Also having intelligent non-DEI people in cabinet positions
Can we quarantine DC? It has been infected with screw-worms for decades…
Too late. Its effected top level democrates in congress.
Symptoms include long speeches and no votes.🦨
“………..Therefore, in order to protect American livestock and our nation’s food supply, Secretary Rollins has ordered the closure of livestock trade through southern ports of entry effective immediately.”
“This decisive action comes after Mexico confirmed another case of New World Screwworm in Veracruz.”
Decisive action to protect cattle from a deadly screwworm infestation = top priority, as it should.
Decisive action to protect humans against Covid-19……….not so much.
I bet fake meat companies are loving it
the next Covid?
Screw worm. 🪱 I thought FJB was in Delaware ?
Fauci and Tedros of the WHO will recommend mRNA clot shots-and then boosters- to protect the world’s population from ‘screw worms’ in 5…4…3…2…
