Under most presidents, the people who store all the treasures in the White House probably don’t have a tough job. They probably do things like move the good china and silver around. In challenging situations they might be called upon to live with very little heat, like with Carter, or to even help get rid of things like stray cocaine, like with Biden. And of course. all the holiday decorations, which are stellar, are a huge job.
The staff does great work and basically it probably is an enjoyable job for the six or so people who oversee the beautiful art work and furniture.
But then the great disruptor, aka President Trump, comes along. In just a few months, he’s redone the Oval Office, put up two new huge flag poles, and today he mentioned how that he’s branched out to redecorating the beautiful cabinet room.
I can just imagine him in the basement (or at least a climate controlled room) asking questions and asking staff to unpack pieces that have been stored for many (a hundred or so?) years. The curators must be thrilled to have a president interested in all the stuff they take care of.But at this point you couldn’t blame them if they feel a bit frazzled.

It was a great cabinet meeting and there were a lot of important issues covered as several cabinet members were given time to talk. I especially enjoyed the humor from President Trump!
The earnest concern from Noem as she talked was about being where the relatives were gathering clothes, shoes , stuffed animals, from where the little girls had stayed before they were swept away in the Guadalupe flood. Just putting anything they could find in bags to have some item for remembrance sake. Her words were very kind and heartfelt. She spoke so thoughtfully! She mentioned Re.v. Graham and they talked with and prayed with the parents. She spent an hour with one father because he was grieving so intensely.
Near the end, President Trump went around the room as he sat and highlighted the various past presidents’ paintings, a mirror and clock and all that he had brought out from storage to put on the walls. Not one media camera followed or showed even ONE of the items he talked about. They are such a bunch of hateful zombies!! It seemed to me it was obvious they didn’t want him to have any credit!!
