The intransigent European Union is hitting a dead end with immovable Trump on the issue of tariffs. The resulting dynamic is what we would expect given 75 years of the Marshall Plan (European Recovery Plan) as part of the EU’s only point of reference.
In order for the EU to maintain its socialistic form of government, it needs to continue the economic benefits from one-way tariffs that exploits the American consumer market. President Trump’s plan to force reciprocity is against its entire economic foundation. The EU simply cannot fathom life without the status quo.
In many ways the EU is in the same position as Canada. From its perspective, economic reciprocity is not sustainable; it would have to change its social compacts. This is the core of the conflict.
The EU trade delegation hit a brick wall in Washington DC, as the U.S. trade team reiterated the baseline tariffs are not something within the negotiation dynamic.
BRUSSELS — The European Union is weighing a provisional trade deal with the United States that would maintain a 10 percent tariff on most exports, the European Commission told EU ambassadors on Friday.
The EU executive reported back after a crucial round of talks in Washington on Thursday, in which Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič sought to head off a threat by President Donald Trump to impose a 50 percent tariff on all European goods from July 9 if no deal is reached.
In addition to the baseline tariff, conversations would continue on providing relief to specific industry sectors such as cars, two national officials cited top Commission officials as saying.
The outcome fell short of expectations in European capitals after the Commission’s trade negotiating team had previously said the possibility of “up-front” tariff relief for some industries was under consideration. The U.S. levies 25 percent tariffs on cars and 50 percent on steel and aluminum. (read more)
As we highlighted in term-1, these ongoing negotiations with the EU on the issues of trade are extremely challenging. However, in term-2 President Trump’s position is much simpler; why keep arguing about the same problem only to end up in negotiations of intransigence?
Instead, if the EU is going to continue negotiations as a collective, President Trump is now favoring just sending the EU a letter informing them of the tariff rates applied to each of their industrial sectors. This is the most direct and impactful way to end the stalemate.
The EU cannot fathom the new level of ambivalence carried by President Trump, and by extension his trade team, toward the conversation. There is no level of countervailing tariffs the EU can announce that impacts the position of Trump. Even if the EU were to end all trade with the USA, that only feeds into the goals and objectives of the Trump administration.
The EU has no power in this dynamic beyond its purchasing power, and if the EU doesn’t want to level the purchasing – thereby maintaining a trade deficit, then Trump will equalize the financial imbalance with tariffs.
Canada is in the same position, hence its alignment with the EU.

It’s Tuesday.
Time to start paying for all those free hamburgers.
Eurofreeloaders.
Always loved Wimpy!
I loved everything about the old Popeye cartoons.
All of the characters, the dialogue, the plots, the music.
Apparently Olive Oyl didn’t eat many hamburgers, on Tuesday or any other time.
Olive Oyl was a babe!
Olive was skin and bones. Yuk.
Sarc
I thought maybe so. Thanks for clarification.
The movie, with Robin Williams & Shelly Duvall, is so well done I love it as much as the dearly loved cartoons of my childhood. With Harry Nilsson music… it’s Divine
{ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081353/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_6_nm_2_in_0_q_popeye }
“The film begins in black-and-white, showing a vintage Paramount logo and the opening credits for the 1930s Paramount-Fleischer Studios Popeye cartoons. However, an animated Popeye appears and sees this is the wrong opening. The movie then cuts to full color, and the opening credits continue.”
“There is a statement in the closing credits: “Our gratitude to an international crew whose artistry helped to bring Sweethaven and the world of Popeye to life.”
Supposedly the ubiquitous Willys/Ford WW2 vehicle was named after:
Adrem, I was skimming comments and accidentally flagged this with my thumb and when I tried to unflag it just said I’d already flagged. Sorry Will!
The problem with Wimpy is he never paid up, which means he was a grifter.
They actually had Wimpy’s Hamburger stores in Paris. When I ate there I discovered that they expected you to use metal forks and knives. Civilized you know.
PDJT is crafting our Declaration of Independence…
Part 2.
I would love to see Trump saying that the US no longer recognizes the EU and that from now on, the US will deal with individual European states.
Now THAT is a great idea!
I am an old man and believe in the lifetime of my children the EU will either have to massively reform – which is highly unlikely – or it will disintegrate with countries looking after their own interests and promoting a patriotism not some nebulous United States of Europe or perhaps Union of European Socialists.
Unless you check out pretty soon, you will see those things take place yourself.
AND exit NATO….
At the very least, pull our troops and assets out of Europe and bring them home.
ASAP… we do not care what ms.linda/dick danang/pomoeous pompeo/cottonmouth think about it….
That would be fun to watch when these countries start individually jumping overboard and abandoning the the Goodship EU.
Bullseye!
Hopefully follow on administrations don’t undo all that Trump is accomplishing. Can we make this law or something to keep in place beyond Trumps presidency?
To DO that will require Americans to give Trump supermajorities in both Houses of Congress with MAGA & America First members, END of story, PERIOD. OUR WORK IS NOT OVER, it’s just beginning, every primary starting in 2026 and beyond will be CRITICAL going forward to STOP GLOBALIST SOCIALISM.
Otherwise, everything POTUS Trump has done in his second term will be undone and the SOCIALIST GLOBALISTS will turn the worlds societies into a two party society, the Elites (very few) and the “HAVE NOTS” (the many)! It’s a “big club” and MOST will NOT be in it!
Indeed, the fight has just begun. One thing the past 10 years have shown is the globalist ideology is deeply rooted in every power structure within the federal and state governments.
Fight Fight Fight!
To to that, voter fraud will have to be eliminated. We already have a supermajority of We the People behind POTUS Trump.
Yes he is. I am still hoping he gets the USA out of NATO too. There’s no need for us to be supporting the defense of Europe anymore. They need to do their own defending and spend their own money doing it.
Atlas is Shrugging!!!
Parasites eventually eat the host unless the host eliminates the parasite.
Thank you President Trump.
Or, another old saying….”you always bite the hand that feeds you.”
….there’s a point of being too generous, too forgiving… (happens in our personal lives, as well)
We can do fine without Europe. Europe will fold like a cheap lawn chair without our largesse. Time to kick them out of the nest.
The Wharton School taught our President Donald J Trump very well about tariffs not taxes.
(Imo he’s going to do something about the ripoff Un-Fed)
Trump and Our Return to the ‘American System’
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2025/04/03/trump_and_our_return_to_the_american_system_152594.html
Has Wharton even acknowledged of late that he’s an Alum? While I’m sure that’s not quite true, they don’t seem to run with that info on the evening news.
Shameful!
Always a pleasure to see you friend. Cheers!
Same to you!
Hoping you enjoyed our 249th! Great to share the pride🇺🇸
Just a note of caution – the Wharton of 40 years ago and the Wharton of today are so vastly different as to be foreign to one another. Today its professors are predominately marxists and globalists, as with the majority of institutions that were once upon a time institutions of higher learning but have become those of higher propaganda.
They recently (April 10th – ironically during the height of tariff hysteria) put out a “study” based upon their “model” (which they hide) to argue against PDJT’s tariffs. It reminds me of the infamous model from the UK institution (by disgraced Neil Ferguson) that was used to drive the hysteria of 2020. Not only is it apparently falsified on its surface, for example showing reduced GDP – but it’s also based on a very unimaginative view of the whole cloth of PDJT’s plan and completely ignores all other aspects of it other than the tariffs themselves (i.e. it is based upon everything else remaining unchanged). Yet – even in spite of the extremely distortion it contains, the worst case scenario run in their model is still only $500/yr on an average middle-class household.
It completely discounts so many factors that its hilarious – from the effects of stablecoins (which horrifies EU politicians) on treasuries to the effects upon domestic industry growth and the reduction of imports on GDP (which they forecast as decreasing). One of the face plant tells was their estimate that investment in the US would fall by over 4% in 2025 – of course we saw in the month after the report’s publication that investment has skyrocketed even when looking only at PDJT’s Middle East tour.
*extreme distortion
My closest childhood friend is a grad from 40 years ago. Brilliant (no exaggeration there) individual who won’t even think of donating to the school anymore.
I have a first cousin who is a Wharton graduate, mid 1990s. Sharp guy.
“The long march through the institutions” I saw firsthand their takeover of the Sierra Club and the environmental movement in general. They even got to my beloved Audubon Society. Hat tip friend Harrison.
“It might surprise many, though, that many of Trump’s protectionist views are aligned with those of Joseph Wharton, the steel industrialist who funded the nation’s first business school in 1881 at the University of Pennsylvania.”

They are so wrong and PDJT is so right.
Love it
It had to end someday… the host would die and turn to dust. Do it now and start the healing.
Tanstaafl…. Is that the word that fits here?
Those folks just don’t care, until it’s too late, then they will get mad and gripe.
Much worse than bums…
TANSTAAFL = There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch
And in my opinion fits most everywhere!
Do they have that in chewable gummies? Or is it only available by prescription in tablet form?
JMO.
TOTAL EXIT, coming as the result of President Trump repurposing NATO towards the real enemy of Europeans, the invaders allowed into their countries by the EU.
This action will remove the base of operation for the globalist, elite, EU leaders who have used it, for decades , to spread their anti-American garbage.
BREXIT was just a trial run.
EU, destined for the ash pile of globalist / socialist failures, on President Trump’s watch.
If the EU leaders think the tariffs are bad, just wait until TOTAL EXIT is revealed to them.
MAGA / America First isn’t just our motto, it is our duty!
I was in Italy recently and someone said, “We don’t worry about our economy because the USA will bail us out!”
I just smiled….. “Be patient” I said.
They are. They’re looking to 2028 and stacking the deck for a D who will resume the flood of free stuff. Much dismantling must yet but done, and laws passed to retard any re-expansion.
We can’t yet count on common sense and voting until the means of fraud are destroyed. USAID and other moves are a step in that direction, but leftist fraud has many angles (so as to appear ‘organic’).
That is the definition of FAFO.
Godless Europe needs a revival.
It also needs a 1) cultural enrichment and 2) communist enema.
Oh, I forgot one: a nazi enema would also be curative for Europe.
It also needs to rid itself of the islamization of the/in the EU…by design, they want to take over the entirety of europe and impose sharia law
Entirety of the world.
Is it me…or does Ursula have “a-deer-in-the-headlights-look” on her face???
Maybe, but she feels totally protected by her globalist chums, and her motto is “I’ll buy, you (the member states) pay. Maybe people are waking up, one can hope
i have this entertaining mental image of ursula and her compadres in the inner chambers of EU HQ,
balling up their little fists, stomping their little feet, and screeching “no-no-no-no”
until they fall to the ground sobbing.
seems the EU is refusing to eat their Brussels sprouts,
er, i mean tariffs, so, in response to that unseemly behaviour,
the tariffs get even bigger.👍🏻
ahhh, it’s the little things.😁
(i guess it never crosses their minds to change course and work towards rationale policy?)
I picture it like every dem politician pulled over by a cop, “don’t you know who I am?” and “you’re going to regret this”.
Shades of Jane Fonda…
With the BBB now done, POTUS doesn’t have to coddle the RINO globalists in Congress anymore.
If the Euros and snow Mexicans don’t understand this dynamic, they are going to get used and abused on trade in the next months. Trump has all tne leverage right now.
“Trump has all tne leverage right now.”
To paraphrase President Trump: He holds all the cards, including the trump cards.
The EU is becoming a welfare state to third world immigrants. What kind of purchasing power do they have?
I wouldn’t be too concerned about losing the future EU as a trading partner. They are intent on destroying themselves. We can’t partner with them on their suicidal mission.
*Here’s my take on how to save them from themselves. Stop enabling the EU to finance their welfare state on our dime.
That might force them to stop accepting and encouraging migrants, maybe to deport those already there.*
When the educated native populations of EU member states are decimated, who is going to be the new brain trust in the manufacturing industries at which they once excelled?
I agree with forcing the EU into stopping the welfare to their 3rd world immigrants. This is a dangerous situation because out of their midst and their power in numbers there can arise another Khomeini or another Mamdini that will make dealing with people like Ursula or Macron a piece of cake.
Manufacturing will be done by the Chinese to avoid those environmental and workplace regulations.
Europe will be service-based economy.
I specifically mentioned “heirs to the brain trust” of European innovation. That will not be the Chinese.
Concerning Chinese production, can it compare to the precision, competence and quality, not to mention the innovation of former European and current American expertise?
Not even close.
Add to that, most if not all Chinese accomplishment has come from stealing the secrets of the US and others. What they are good at is espionage and implanting spies.
Clinton should have done this as soon as the European Union was formed as a collective economy designed to target our economy!
Clinton wad on board with it
Common slogan in the Clinton years was that we needed a medical system like Norway (scandanavia).
And there was talk of forming the North America Union
Clinton was in on on the scam. Just another grifter, but in a high place. Rotten to the core.
Anyone interested in a deeper dive into the EU.
The Nazi Roots of the ‘Brussels EU’
https://ia800203.us.archive.org/9/items/NaziRootsOfBrusselsEU2017/Nazi%20Roots%20of%20Brussel%27s%20EU%20-%202017.pdf
Thank you for the direction to this book. I read the introduction and it seems an important reference.
I’m thinking I will purchase maybe a dozen of them, if possible, and send to some in DC that I still have some faith in and hopefully they will take the time to digest the contents and act accordingly.
My salutations.
There are still people in D.C. that read?
Only after they pass the bill- if even then. But possibly that’s an excuse for their inability to read.
Thank you!
Happy, because above Faith, Hope and Love there is the value of RIGHTEOUSNESS – which is TRUTH. It often appears amidst the rubble of our naivety and ignorance – but it becomes a driving force of our ‘new’ thinking and a necessity for action.
EU settles in at the table with a framing hammer in hand as their leverage.
Trump walks in with a 10lb maul and breaks the table in half.
Hahahaha! Still not tired of winning!
Yes, remember Trump’s warning that we would get tired of winning and beg him to stop? No chance.
PDJT… the only immovable object in a swamp filled with spineless fungi.
It’s been stated many times before, and it’s so true. Other countries need us, way more than we need them. When the US speaks, the world listens.
The EU has backed itself into a corner on many fronts.
Ideology vs Reality, the latter which sooner or later smacks all delusions square in the face.
They are in the process of exempting 90% of industries and businesses from their economy crushing and extortionate “Carbon Credit” taxes. An increasingly desperate and weakened Carney, who has announced that he is politically and economically yoking Canada to the EU will surely be taking to his fainting couch as he watches his beloved “Climate Change” weapon of mass destruction and control being all but jettisoned by his comrades.
Meanwhile the ominous clouds of societal upheaval in the EU are not only increasing, they seem to be a fact of daily life now and are intensifying. The peasants are revolting against the obliteration of their centuries old cultures through forced acceptance of, shall we call them, people “not like themselves”….all brought to them by Von der Leyen Inc.
And finally there is the Spectre of War which the EU hierarchy continues to fan the flames for…
So here sits President Trump in the catbird seat.
Imagine had Harris been seated there…
There is much to be grateful for this weekend, the beginning of the 250th year of our Republic. The pendulum has indeed begun its return journey for America.
Take note, citizens of an evil, fraudulently sold and now crumbling EU project…
And pass the popcorn!! 🇺🇸
What a beautifully written piece.
Cheers! 🏴🏴🏴
Such a flair with words !! I always appreciate your comments. Thank you.
Go, Betsy! 🎯👋
USA/EU links. The thinkers, the creators, the directors. What you need to know.
Alas, contemporary historical realities are poorly known, even totally ignored. It is harmful for understanding the present.
1/ First published in 2010 and containing copies of previously unpublished historical documents sourced from international archives, “The Nazi Roots of the ‘Brussels EU’” proves that the key architects of the European Union were recruited from among the same technocrats who had previously designed the plans for a post-WWII Europe under the control of the Nazis. By revealing how the undemocratic nature of the European Union bears a notable resemblance to the intended post-war plans of the Nazis for a “total European economic area,” the shocking information contained in this book essentially marks the beginning of the end for the so-called “EU Project.” As such, mindful that the Europe of today is now teetering on the brink of economic collapse, the authors conclude by showing how the building of a new Europe – designed for the people and by the people – could lead to a world of health, peace and social justice becoming a reality.

Time for The EU to end / splinter back to the original countries who care about their survival
They are preparing for a long siege with the recent wealth seizing tax they just passed. They will fall far short due to their green energy policies which is already running them short of energy needed for the coming winter in the UK and Germany especially in light of the new spending in support of 5% NATO goal. They are hoping to make up for the loss of US trade with Chinese and Arab countries. They are going to be sadly “surprised” that can’t, So FAFO the hard way seems to be the chosen path.
That 5% commitment to NATO will soon be referred to instead as an aspirational goal only when the “team players” individually begin to recognize the unprecedented impact of this unaccustomed expenditure on budgets begins to sink in, and surely with the passage of time all mention will disappear as smoke on a distant horizon.
I am fairly certain that PDJT is well aware that they plan on failing to achieve the 5% goal.
My guess is that he has a Plan B for when this occurs. The NATO countries are hoping that the USA chips in the 5% all at once while they chip in their paltry 1% in small drips.
He plans for all of their contingent games.
bankrupt due to non payment since he cannot withdraw any other way
Good. I’m sick of American “socialists” (aka communists) bragging about Canada’s and Europe’s “free” health care and saying what a horrible place America is for not having it.
Oh, yes. We have “free” health care. It’s just that bought it for Canada and Europe. Their socialist benefits have been bought and paid for by American taxpayers.
President Trump, PLEASE don’t let up!!
I get tired of hearing the same thing. and this is mostly from the younger generation. I “kind of” get it. They don’t see opportunity for jobs that will allow them to continue to pay for the extremely expensive health care. They see grandma and grandpa on fixed incomes who worked their entire lives well into their old ages and the health expenses are cleaning them out.
and while that is true, it’s completely untrue that health care that is “socialized” can be the answer.
the ANSWER is of course: regulating health care costs and jobs growth.
no free lunch. In about 10 to 20 years all of those socialists states will have a come to Jesus moment when they can no longer collect enough taxes to pay for “free” health care. the growth in eu just can’t support it. and of course, fewer and fewer are having children…a similar problem for the US by the way. future economies and security do rely mainly on a growing population…not replacement illegal cross tie walkers either! not that. Not mass immigration polices in the EU either.
you have to build your national policy around sustainability and that means people must have children and the economy has to be there to give those new children opportunities…mothers and fathers the sense that it’s more than just luck and hope to depend on when deciding to have children…a society that is normal and not sexualized and grotesque also…a big key that few of the woke assholes really understand or want to understand.
I am fortunate to have been born here in the US. No doubts about it. Fortunate to have such wonderful hard working parents who never let up on the gas pedal and imprinted a strong sense of self determination. For that I am grateful. But the thing abou America is that it isn’t just some isolated dream that can only happen here. It can be transferred and it is my prayer that one of the effects of the stage 4, revolution, transfer of power is that other nations begin to understand and appreciate some of the principles of our system, what makes it tick and work.
exhibit a: so very few so called western modern societies have probibitions against filtering free speech. Few have anything close to how our constitution makes that the most important and critically important cornerstone and foundational to what makes our country truly great and strong. It’s shameful that “we” helped rebuild Germany and nearly every single European country post ww2, and “we” did not make it clear they must accept that part of our constitution into their binding law. It was a serious mistake…and everything we see today that is wrong in Europe is precisely because there is no law that forbids the central state to demand that you adjust your thoughts and throttle your ideas and to curtail your expressions. Ideas, you see, even the really stupid ones are essential to how a nation “finds itself”. Europe continues down a path where the state demands that you do this and do that, and not this and not that. No coincidence that few Europeans actually support and have confidence in their own “officials”. I can’t imagine what it would be like if I had to think seriously against called Joe Biden, Joe malarkey….which is a truth, but more important it’s exactly how I feel about the imbecile. You do that sort of thing in Europe and you get a knock on your door, get fined and if the authorities believe it is hate speech, perhaps even jail time. And of course, even if those things don’t happen…you say those things on social network, and then you get censored, blocked shadow banned, and it’s very likely whatever job you have is probably not going to be pleasant about your collecting a paycheck. So there is this very real chilling effect going on in Europe and has for a very long time.
remember the satire from France…some cartoon making jokes about islam//allah. And that provoked a terror set of murders from yes, radical islamists. and what did the “state” do about it? They made laws that expanded laws against making religious satire. it’s mind numbing the kinds of actions that have taken place in Europe. They are all fearful people, top down.
I am fortunate I don’t live in that kind of society. yes, we have our problems, but as long as the right to express yourself remains intact, I feel very confidence we will all get past this ridiculous stage where woke jackwagons can suck the oxygen out of the room.
God Bless America
Never forget that the Nazi EU is flooding their Christian member nations with Muslims & third world invaders to destroy their nations. Civil War is going to break out at some point in the not to distant future. The EU/NATO/WEF etc are the real enemies of the European peoples, and our external enemies, not Russia.
TENSE SHOWDOWN AT GPO DUBLIN – NATIONALIST SURGE OVERPOWERS PLANNED MUSLIM MARCH!
Yes!
This is good to see. The Irish natives must start showing their globalist govt. that they are not in favor of losing their country and culture to foreign invaders. I never thought the Irish people would take a stand and show they care about what’s happening to them but they did. I wonder if it’s too late. They desperately need to change their leadership in their govt.
and I am concerned about the number of OUR States (Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin) who have large Islamic communities that do not integrate, hate OUR country and are intent on taking over the US.
We need to make sure we don’t end up like Great Britain – this is Michigan this weeekend:

nor did he live in the violent murderous 5th world shit holes. Had he, his art would have been CUT SHORT.
like most “enlightened” artists, they imagine the world as they would like it to be…a noble ambition, but unfortunately a very impractical and often very dangerous way to think about the realities of the world that we do live in.
God Bless America
Spit!
Good for the Irish – we need more of this.
VERY well presented.
Wow, the cultural enrichers and their monetary sponsors have a lot of Ballz to try to march on the Irish at the GPO!
One cannot imagine any more symbolic inflammatory act upon the Irish nation and people.
Economic power for the continual win. So simple. Real shame our government leaders have been giving our Country away my entire life. Those commies in FDR cabinet were a good purchase.
Really makes me sick.
I remember the first time I realized the entirety of my life we have been sold out, lied to, brainwashed and manipulated.
I’m no spring chicken either.
God Bless President Trump and the likeminded patriots assisting him.
I am so thankful for this President. This is all a long time in coming. When Americans experience a deterioriating standard of living because we are holding up other countries across the world, it is more than frustrating. I don’t want to support the government of Ukraine! I don’t want to support the governments of Canada and the E.U. or any other country. Let them stand on their own two feet. Bring our money and more importantly our manufacturing home, secure the borders, give us our lives back.
And to all the Liberals howling about how states have to manage their own Medicaid and other welfare programs, tough luck. I’ve never in my life seen so many lazy, unwilling to work, feigned helplessness, entitled Americans in my life. I am not privileged. I worked my rear end off my whole life, holding down 3 jobs at a time, in order to support my children as a single mother for a long, long, time. I didn’t take a hand out and it was brutal. But you know what my kids learned? Hard work pays off. Not bragging. It was tough. Really, really, tough. I hated it, but we lived to tell the story.
We need to get back to “will work for food”. I say this in all humbleness. I know the struggle well. I’m thankful that President Trump is righting our sinking ship while I’m still alive.
Hat tip to you and Charlotte too. Women don’t often impress me so I don’t say that lightly.
Regarding tariffs on European goods, “the EU cannot fathom the new level of ambivalence carried by President Trump … toward the conversation.”
It is now time to apply that same level of US ambivalence toward the current European war, when the engaged parties themselves seem to have no interest in ending it. Stop the US money transfers. Stop the US weapons transfers. Stop the US intel and targeting assistance. Let Russia and Ukraine duke it out. And if the rest of Europe wants in on it, that’s up to them. It is not America’s fight. And that is NOT isolationism. It is simply minding one’s own business.
At the same time we call let everyone involved know that any use of nuclear weapons will result in the end of that party’s existence. Bluster and threaten all you want. Launch and you’re history.
If they cut off all trade, where’ll I ever get my clothes from??? I’ll be denuded!!
Coming soon to the big box men’s department near you?
🤣😂
It’s nice to see former Biden administration members find a new line of work. 😁
might want to keep a mindful eye on the luggage though..
Precisely!
Wonder if that suitcase was taken off the baggage carousel?
Paging Sam Brinton, paging Sam Brinton…
Somehow, I cannot imagine you donning such ‘fashion’!
Oh Dear Lord!

The EU executive reported back after a crucial round of talks in Washington on Thursday, in which Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič sought to head off a threat by President Donald Trump to impose a 50 percent tariff on all European goods from July 9 if no deal is reached.
HAHAHAHAHAHAH . . . . . . .HEHEHEHEHEHEH , , , , LMAO
Indirectly the world has been feeding on the teat of the US for decades.
As long as they swore they were male teats! Thank God and POTUS Trump, the Obama Era has crashed and is burning as we watch in appreciation!
Time to put on your big boy pants EU and get out of the house and start taking care of your own bills. THE BIG BAD RUSSIA excuse will not get you any more free stuff! TOO BAD!
Hahah, BRAVO! on the “2001” reference….👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 how apropos …..(for those of a certain age)….and clever !! 🤓🥰
President Trump is going to force Canada and the EU to face economic reality. Thank goodness for that.
Comments about getting tariffs into law somehow. As SD noted several days ago, Trump is doing better. He is making tariffs such a part of US federal income even the uniparty (esp GOPrick RINOrats) will be unable to move away from them they would blow such a huge hole in the deficit. I dont know what tariff percentage of current income is, but get tariffs close to double digits of US federal income percentage and they will be immovable.
WWI and II were the culmination of centuries of the europeans slaughtering each other. NATO, the UN and the Marshal Plan has kept the peace. With President Trump upsetting the apple cart and the elitist EU leadership in Brussels upsetting the european citizens, the rest of the century will be an interesting one for Europe.
The EU and Canada. To the tune of an old song.
“Nothin’ plus nothin’ makes nothin’
Ya gotta have somethin’, if ya wanna deal with me…”
Pass the Winnamins and Cheetos!
My mother taught me at a very young age about give and take. I was a bottle baby, and she was having some difficulty weaning me off of the sucky thing-a-majig.
We were at some store one day when I saw a pair of strap to the shoes roller skates. I think it may have been about my 3rd birthday.
She made a deal with me; I could trade the bottle for the skates. I agreed, and she bought the skates. I took a couple of falls, but got the hang of it pretty quick, and discovered a new kind of mobility. Yay!
She told me later in life (I had no memory of the deal we made) that I came to her and said “Mommy, can I have my”… but I stopped mid sentence and turned away. I never had a baby’s bottle in my mouth again.
The point here is that we had made a deal, and although I was just a wee lad, I stuck to that deal and it turned out to be a very important learning experience. The lesson I had learned was that nothing in life is attained for free.
It’s time we take the baby off the bottle.
What a fun story…
Thank you, Teagan. I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s all true and I have many more memories of life’s most valuable lessons, such as how to survive. 😉
Socialism is a symbiotic ideology.
This is the position Putin holds in Ukraine, btw. It’s ironic that Team Trump sees the strength of their position on Trade, but continues to chirp about negotiations with Russia when it comes to ending the war in Ukraine.
Blinders are blinders. And it’s often most interesting to observe who is wearing them and in what contexts.
Just like the EU on tariffs, the EU and NATO will need to come to the same conclusion on Ukraine. Escalation is not an option. And at some point they’re going to have to accept the baseline requirements of Russia.
The tariffs will help because they’ll force Europe to reconsider whether continued support to Ukraine is worth the required cuts in social welfare spending.
Interesting observation on relationship of tariffs to Putin. The EU may very well find itself in the same economic situation as Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union. Russia has been able to pull itself out and has accomplished some difficult transitions, much to the credit of an educated economist; Putin. The Europeans have much to learn from the experiences of Russia, if they will allow themselves to read and purge the ancient hatreds.
Europeans will never cure themselves of their every-century fever that demands they invade Russia.
I’ve never been to Europe to directly see the spoils of screwing the USA. However I did hear about when skiing at Whistler BC.
Conversations on the lifts from Canadians, New Zealanders, Australians, French, etc… about their high life, vacations, and cushy jobs.
All true..We live in British Columbia.
It often puzzled me that Americans as a rule worked so much harder than many Canadians, and with far fewer benefits.
It was not until President Trump came down the escalator and announced.
Canada, like the U.S.A. was maybe until the sixties or early seventies a very productive and financially savvy nation.
IMO like the U.S.A. socialism crept into everything.
The RCMP, our Military ( our P.M.) once had all branches Army, Navy and Air Force wear the same colour of uniform) it didn’t last, and is remembered by only a few.
IMO the denigrating of the family structure was at its root.
Cheers!
WONDERFUL comments here!!!! This is truly, truly delicious. AND I learned a new word! GO GO GODZILLA TRUMP! Our very own behavior modification specialist! ❤️❤️❤️
I would say they are “special needs leaders” since they are such slow learners.
Givers have to set limits, because takers never will.
Nothing I like more than watching a true socialist gagging on their cucumber sandwich.
“Pinky’s out, people….”
Socialism is all fun and games until you run out of other people’s money!
I wonder what percent of Americans realize the utter dependence Europe has on the US?
For years, when I was told about the wonderful social programs European nations offered their citizens, I responded that they only could do so because they need not defend themselves. Uncle Sam was picking up that tab.
But over the last few years it has become apparent that Europe depends on us for so much more.
And to think those Eurotrash pricks look down their noses at us.
Like we pay for military, pensions, shopping trips, etc. for Ukraine?
Ha! Great “Planet of the Apes” meme.
Canada: My boat has holes and is sinking! EU: So is ours. Great. Let’s tie our boats together. LOL
