With the BBB back in the House of Representatives, Speaker Mike Johnson now has the difficult job to push the bill to a final floor vote and get it to President Trump’s desk.
Anticipating pushback and refusal of support from the House Freedom Caucus, earlier this morning President Trump sent a message via Truth Social drawing attention to the objective of the bill to generate economic growth:
PRESIDENT TRUMP – “Nobody wants to talk about GROWTH, which will be the primary reason that the Big, Beautiful Bill will be one of the most successful pieces of legislation ever passed. THIS GROWTH has already begun at levels never seen before. Trillions of Dollars are now being invested into the USA, more than ever before. Likewise, hundreds of Billions of Dollars in Tariffs are filling up the coffers of Treasury. The Tariff money has already arrived and is setting new records! We are growing our way out of the Sleepy Joe Biden MESS that he and the Democrats left us, and it is happening much faster than anyone thought possible. Our Country will make a fortune this year, more than any of our competitors, but only if the Big, Beautiful Bill is PASSED! As they say, Trump’s been right about everything, and this is the easiest of them all to predict. Republicans, don’t let the Radical Left Democrats push you around. We’ve got all the cards, and we are going to use them. Last year America was a “DEAD” Nation, with no hope for the future, and now it’s the “HOTTEST NATION IN THE WORLD!” MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Meanwhile, as noted by Politico: “House Freedom Caucus members like Reps. Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Ralph Norman (R-S.C.) blasted the Senate’s bill Tuesday for adding to the deficit and softening clean energy tax credits. Roy and Norman both voted against the bill in the Rules Committee overnight.”
Speaker Johnson has to navigate the timing of the BBB reaching the floor, and in an effort to dissuade the concerns of the professional republican naysayers he is informing them of possible alternatives to changes in the current bill. “In an interview on Fox News on Tuesday night, Johnson said the House will plan to do two more reconciliation bills during this session of Congress, which ends in 2026.”

Speaking of timing, today…there is the Diddy trial and verdict watch. Also the case in Idaho..Kohberger’s plea deal.
you want to watch a Diddy trial? lol ok
As a foreign CTH enthusiast one of President Trumps greatest achievements is the outing of the traitors and B.S within in his own Party.
The Dems never seem to have this problem.
Many though are falling by the wayside.
Long May it continue.
Cheers!
The Dems always go in lockstep…although it seems to have changed some since Nancy Pelosi is no longer Speaker of the House. Generational change? Or some now coming to their senses? My jury is still out on that one.
There are few places to hide for Republican’ts scattering like roaches when you flip the kitchen light on in a Florida rental..
Being forced to defend their GloboCorp./Death Cult paymasters outrageous pork in the Bill seals their fate. It is fun to watch. For now.
Agree, but you and I are regularly on the same page. Folks on here cheer on the ought-666 that contains provisions for palantir to do things they won’t like… but for some people, something or anything is better than nothing. However with the provisions for palantir or the sale of federal lands to private developers, among others is a non starter for me.
The way I was raised, something is better than nothing. If this bill is not passed than I suspect it will be worse than nothing. I also put a lot of weight behind Trump wants it. Trump has been right much more often than not.
I’m only curious – if this bill allows palantir to build a digital prison to encapsulate us all, but had everything else you wanted – is that better than nothing?
I realize this is sort of hypothetical, altho the palantir stuff is for real, but curious nonetheless as I can’t support anything that furthers the police state
Refusing to support the BBB because of dark imaginings about a hypothetical future doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
Don’t worry it’s just a yellow arm band.
If I have to wear a Yellow Arm BAnd to get close to my enemy so I can defeat him, I will.
Once they start the Palantir beast you won’t be able to stop it.
Take what is available, use it in ways the opposition did not expect, and IF the Dark Imaginings begin, destroy them.
That prison is being built with or without the bill. Is that hard to imagine?
No harder to Imagine than that you are just trying to cause panic. Go Away
they took fema money allocated to illegals and built them housing
what’s not to like?
This bill would pour $100 billion (with a B) into ICE, making it the largest federal law enforcement agency.
That feels more like a personal army to me.
While we are on the topic of police states…
While we are on the subject of what exactly it is going to take to remove the illegals that poured into our country over the last four years, perhaps $100 billion is on the low side.
If they actually bothered going after the people employing the illegals then I might just believe they wanted to get them all out of the country.
So far they haven’t.
Everything does not happen on Monday.
They have had plenty of time to go after employers, they have refused to do so.
Walk into any tyson food plant & you will likely find 90% of the employees are illegal.
Same with countless other businesses.
Wouldn’t take much to start fining them.
You’re right lol. It’s hard to have patience after 4 years but I’ll keep trying.
We wouldn’t have as huge an immigration problem in East Tennessee if the employers would stop hiring illegals. We voted red overwhelming but
ICE hasn’t been here yet.
Better that American Made army than the foreign terrorist filled one (over 20 million) Biden let rush our border…
Required because of the Evil Stupidity of your former president, and his ilk.
oh please
do the math
millions of illegals in this country, most on some sort of
government assistance
when they aren’t committing crimes
its our tax dollars paying for them to stay here
let’s use our tax dollars more wisely
to get them out!
PS: I think it is $70 billion (admit I am not sure)
So a reach around makes getting bent over a better deal ?
POTUS has been convinced he “needs” this bill…
We The People do not.
Just so you idiots on here supporting legislation that was written back when the world was still under the terrorist threat of nuclear annihilation are clear on what you’re getting…
Not what you think you’re getting…
My two pieces of functional communication, an old flip phone and a hand me down tablet, side by side, are 2:40 apart in time.
That means…
In this current surveillance state of searching and seizing every bit and byte of Our personal data…
It sure would be easy to frame me digitally…
You too…
That’s what you’re signing up for supporting a bill from a different era…
The continuation and expansion of the surveillance state.
The global terrorist threat of nuclear annihilation has been officially eliminated* { see footnote B2}..
Pick up the pace folks…
There’s a global Economic Emancipation occurring right before Our eyes…
For those who have eyes to see.

His word says THERE WILL be, in the end times, a system in place for all men to receive a mark.

Sen. Blackburn nixed the Attempted Intelligence free for all, but that opens up potential Pandoras Box by letting the Californicators ride herd on AI regulation moving forward.
The fact these jokers can’t write a 15 page Bill, or even a 150 page Bill that does exactly what we need at the time is “why we can’t have nice things” ..
Slippery Johnson lollygagged around until it had to be an “All Or Nothing “ Hail Mary pass, ripe for Un American add ons.
1,000,000%
PT is going along with this for a reason…..reason is ..if you start objecting you give the never trumpers fuel to continue debate on the bill with no end in sight….get PT trump his money for policy initiatives and permission to move ahead full speed…OUR LAST CHANCE to save this economy and country. ALL THE OTHER crap can be handled latter, it pales in comparison to what will happen if we dont move forward. Sundance said PT tariffs already pay for whats in the bill, wont cost us a dime .What is it that people dont get. Is it because they want to appear smart….well they are hard headed and dumb as dirt.
Look, we will have to demand our “Lawmakers” go back and pull the crazy sh!t out at some point. This Business As Usual model ain’t going to work. I agree we have to pass this turd to try and defuse this cluster bomb of an Economy.
Problem is if it gets passed they will just make a show of saying “oh we will get right on that” then proceed to do nothing.
We have seen this dog and pony show before.
That’s when we get ahold of the list of people who availed themselves of Congressional Staffer and Paige Sexual Abuse Hush Fund and see what we can leverage out of it.
Not with PT !
He needs the Bill, as there are “Authorizations” in it that will give the Legislative Authority to Proceed WITH HIS PROGRAM. Get That, or go back kiss Peloosies Back Side.
Timing. There is a time for everything under the sun.
The greatest victories often come not from brute force but from insight, timing, and knowing oneself. Momentum and timing in the art of war and business.
“Even water without a solid shape can push big boulders due to its momentum, and an eagle can break the body of its prey with a precise strike due to good timing” ….. SUN TZU
In business, this principle can be applied by understanding the right time to make decisions, as seen in the example of SEMBAWANG MUSIC in business significance and strategy, which expanded when a financial crisis opened new opportunities.
Many of these bad things in the bill can be clawed back I assume with other ways
Whenever our government promises that something will be “handled later”…
No one I know is ‘cheering’ the ugly parts of this bill. This is politics – the good, the bad and the ugly. I’m looking at all the good parts and will be looking forward to future directed bills that will address some of the things that weren’t able to be fixed in this bill. Go BBB!
The bill the senate sent back to the house also removed many of the things that were fought for.
No tax on social security – gone
Hearing protection act – gone
Short act – gone.
etc…
Pork ? plenty of that added in.
Watch they will say “well we can try to fix that later after we pass it, then proceed to do nothing
How many times must we watch this show repeat before people learn ?
it was the same playbook they used in the early 2000s, and under bush sr and under regan.
This is what controlled opposition always does because they are there to offer the illusion of a second choice.
They also haven’t done a damned thing to add back the things actual conservatives wanted in the bill (No tax on social security, HPA, Short act, etc…) that the senate pulled out of it.
99% of the so called republicans in DC have shown themselves to be rinos with more loyalty to special interest groups and foreign nations then they have to the American people.
That’s why I call them “Republican’ts”..
Swap the “A” with a “U”
I don’t want to go back to The Box.
That is why I call you Jinxy Cant
You must be new here. If not, I am easily overlooked or dismissed, not easily forgotten once you ponder a taste of my perspective.
Republican’ts are Uniparty hacks that always seem to drop the ball at the most critical of times. If the shoe fits.. have a more informed afternoon.
Won’ts
They’re working for their greed and lust for power.
You’re nowhere on their list.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and America will not be healed in a week. Grow Up, Work Hard, and be Respectful.
The fact that nobody holds them to account and keeps electing them as “the lesser evil” is why nothing ever changes and the slide to collapse keeps moving forward.
Face it, they are controlled opposition there for no other reason then to provide the illusion of a second choice.
not true
These people have 1 job.. and it ain’t working for US apparently.
That is the issue, President Trump works directly for We The People and he has to fight these ‘Stablishment fiends at every turn.
When they jam up his plans people give him grief on Social Media and he is further frustrated with the people we sElected to hold permanent Court.
Owen Shroyer pointed out today that they aren’t trying to win 1 DemonScat vote from either Chamber so who exactly in the GOP demands these hideous caveats? They are Anti-MAGA at best, extremely dangerous delay tactics/ larceny at worst.
The fight isn’t between The right vs. left, the Dems have rendered themselves moot for the time being, the fight is between Republican’ts and America First and some quasi Republicans who only want to fundraise and self promote.
Edit: that is why I don’t think any of them read the. Bill before they sent it to the Senate. This is an argument between Lobbyists over our kids futures.
As much as we dislike Skeletor, she was a very good SOH, for the Demoncats.
the dem supporters are sheeple
MAGA supporters try and pay attention
Nancy said a week or so ago that AOC and her fellow travelers better not cross the line, they’ve kinda done that with the nyc mayor nonesense
She looks like she won’t be breathing much longer, I hope she repents for her multitude of sins
Dems have a hive mentality. Evil sticks together through primordial ooze running through their veins. Republicans are grifters and money hungry. They will often disagree because they are being paid to disagree. It’s a nasty nasty situation.
Once we get congress cleaned out, we MUST TEACH THE YOUTH about what can happen if you stop paying attention to those who are elected positions. This must NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN…
they have a few people that can think for themselves but they are reigned in pretty quick – lawfare
It will happen, again, and again, and again.
Until He returns.
As long as we don’t put more knuckleheads in the positions left open with the rash of retirements.
For some reason the Diddy trail does not concern me. Let’s get this thing done
Whose Diddy? No idea…
Well, Did Diddy Do it, and if not, what Didn’t Diddy Do ?
Diddlin’ around is my guess…
On a serious note….I hope the trial witnesses and accusers have good security.
Guilty on 2 counts. Just got the alert. Just another alert of useless news to me.
When he was known as Puff Daddy, Bill O’Reilly called him a rapper and part time bullet collector after being shot.
I used to like Bill because Pops liked Bill, even though I never had a good vibe about Fox News back to its inception when I would just see glimpses of it on the periphery. He totally changed after Operation Hot Chocolate.
He was a good actor for quite a few years. Tiring but good.
How’s it going cuz?
I’m ornery for 46..
FOX news is controlled opposition. Tickles the conservative tickle points, but always sways toward the uniparty.
Diddy is a dude with a kiddy problem amongst other pervert things.
Me neaither but it is a social distraction, if you get what I mean….
Me neither since we have no idea (yeah right) who he was blackmailing or where the kids are. “Nothing to see here, shuffle along” ..
The p diddy trial is a coverup. There is some really evil satanic stuff going on that can be hidden behind a soft trial. Child ritual abuse etc it’s much more depraved than any of us can imagine. Hollywood demonic stuff.
Yes Sir. If folks only knew!
I started praying when the sun came up.
Acts 12:5 KJV
Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
Romans 1:9 KJV
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
Pray without ceasing.
2 Timothy 1:3 KJV
I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
Don’t forget when the sun goes down.
Me thinks they will get this done early so they can get home for Independence Day vacation.
Yep. Nothing motivates the Uni-Party like the threat of missing vacation time because that is when the indulgences are paid out. Free trips to some exotic location, speaking fees, golf at exclusive clubs…. they will get this done.
Congress has never ever worked so hard…except maybe for a week or so back around 1776?
They have been having to work hard and work overtime, (ha and their OT is taxed?) to keep up with our beloved POTUS….
No rest for the weary. Welcome to our world, Congress.
It’s a rough gig..
Vacations, junkets and donor $$$: PRIORITY of the dc country club patrons.
American people, democracy, conservatism, constitutionality, governing is a foreign aspect of these delinquents. They spend 60% of yr in ‘session’? I’m estimating. It’s not much.
They WON’T be inconvenienced.
I am very glad the present tax rates are being made permanent. That said, severe cuts in spending need to be made. Anyone justifying the present size of our federal government by saying that we will now grow our way out of the deficit and needs to be shaken and stirred, and perhaps strongly slapped.
I agree, but it seems people all say ‘whoa’ or ‘let’s not be hasty’ when it’s their ox getting gored. Me? I’m for ending all transfer payments including social security and Medicaid today. You too?
Social Security is not a transfer payment. We paid for it! In fact we’re getting screwed and receiving far less than intended.
It’s even worse when you pay in since your teenage years, get hurt severely in your early forties and are unable to work and are then denied “every which way but loose” by the Social Safety Nets because you don’t check the boxes for the Gatekeepers.
If the ss taxes we paid back during our yutes had been invested in conservative mutual funds, by the time we went back for regular distributions the amts would have double or triple what the gummint now tells us that ss fund has.
The congress cheated us by mixing those funds into the general fund, spending it with abandon. As usual it’s easy to spend money that is not YOUR money.
You may have paid in, but it is absolutely a transfer payment now since SS was gutted with IOUs by Gingrich, repubs, and Billary Clinton.
Currently there are 2 wage makers for every SS payee. This is unsustainable. In FDR days it was 8 to 1. Do you think 2 people can pay enough to cover your benefits? 2 people would have to clear 100k a year salary to generate $30,600 in SS pay-ins. That is a $2500/mo SS payment. Which at this point, as stated above is a transfer payment since it is now FIFO (first in first out in accounting) with no real reserves to cover deficits.
It’s a Ponzi scheme. By definition it’s a transfer payment.
Social Security is insurance against outliving your assets or death of the family “bread-winner”. There is separate disability insurance that is covered as well Fortunately there’s never been fraud in SS disability claims.
People who paid into Social Security (and Medicare) their entire working life would rightly disagree with your plan….
Medicaid is a different animal altogether and does need to be SIGNIFICANTLY reformed. I think everyone understands that, but the devil is in the details. Definitely should not be paying anything to anyone who is not here legally or who never paid into the system…
As per Politico: Congressman Markwayne Mullin stated : There are 35 million Americans living below the poverty level, but 70 million Medicare recipients. He believes there may be fraud involved.
Medicare is the health insurance program for those over 65, which employers /employees pay into their entire working life.
Medicaid is a government funded health program for those who are unemployed, employed but still below the poverty limit, disabled, elderly poor, etc. It is funded by the taxpayers and is rife with fraud…
You, like many other people, are clearly confusing the two programs.
I think Medicare also covers ESRD at less than 65. But it’s really 4 separate programs, A-B-C-D. The employment tax is for Medicare A. B-C-D are optional beginning at 65.
“Medicaid” is just a way to start the progressive idea of government acting as “single payer” for all heath, with the goal of eliminating health insurance or private pay. Medicaid also has state administration, so there are local issues involved. Blue states typically also push “single payer” scheme so expand Medicaid.
Fraud involved? Ya think?
SS has always paid for spouses and survivors, notwithstanding they have not “paid into the system”.
No, because I’m not for old women living under bridges and dying on the streets. You?
What are families for? What are churches for? What are State & Local governments for?
Love the straw man though.
Back in the mid 80’s, the idea of ‘assisted living’ came about…now its not affordable and or these facilities ‘take’ a huge portion of one’s SS check…that said…
Assisted living came about, and with the increase in nursing homes, because America was changing…kids were moving far away from their homes, for their jobs, new jobs, employment opportunities etc….it was predicted that there would be a need for assisted living for that reason. Just like the prediction of ‘baby boomers’ decimating ‘health care’ in order to push for new ‘products’.
Another manner in which globalism/corporatism has destroyed American’s lives…just my opinion. Throw in H1B, immigrants, identity theft…you get my drift…or more specifically….destroyed The American Family.
My experience…churches are only interested in abortion prevention. The church was ‘unable’ to help my daughter in law with the problems she was having… Here in my IL ‘hood, state and local government is for funding pensions and the occasional school. Period.
Just give me back what I was forced at gunpoint to pay into SS and Medicare and I’ll be overjoyed to sign a quit-claim deed to anything I’m owed in future.
Mac – I’d sign up for that too.
@Donnyvee – seems I’ve proved my point about one’s ox being gored.
Sorry, we can’t do that. Everything you own and worked your whole life for belongs to us.
Just be glad we’re not taxing you to breathe.
Sincerely, US.Gov
Stephen Miller explaining why, when, how, and where PDJT’s legislation efforts are getting done.
Stephen Miller said: just take the win. Nothing wrong with that and the House Republicans should represent our will now. The BBB contains the President Trump governance program. Just say yes.
Excellent interview, thanks!
Miller explodes a lot of the inaccurate ideas about bills procedure being pushed hither and on by so many with agendas. Oh and with the fervor of faux certainty!
He also made a very interesting point in the last few minutes about the AI provision and the possibility that CA could be able to call the shots on how woke it turns out.
Recision bill to follow the Big, beautiful bill after President Trump signs it. Yeh!
Retired Magistrate here: I have had it with the House Freedom Caucus. The only thing they do is grandstand and attempt to sidetrack what is good for the majority of American citizens.
🎯
An offshoot of CONservative Inc. Duplicitous to the end.
Freeloaders Caucus ! Hiding behind the mask of patriotism.
Yep, if memory serves, these are the grifters that hi-jacked the tea party movement. They are bluster, no action.
Hi Marcia…!
I often wonder if the R party is trying to keep the old ideology of being the ‘bankers’ party? Picture the the banker guy on a monopoly game…
The party has changed because of Donald J. Trump….and they can’t stand it. From worker’s rights to transparency…so much has changed for them. They hate us, because of that…
JWoo, our Hoosier friend…has a good understanding of Machiavelli…she will often bring up the part of his book/theory about change in a system…and those who partake in the said system, will NOT be happy and will fight the said change.
“Trump will not find perfect solutions. He will find OPTIMAL solutions. We cannot ask for more.” – Sundance
I agree HFC wants the perfect knowing they can’t get it!!! The perfect destroys the good, the perfect is the enemy of the good!!!
They serve a purpose. It’s just that sometimes (as in this moment) they confuse their purpose with theater.
I remember when the Freedom Caucus stopped the repeal of Obamacare on the first try.
Marcia:
You invariably exercise good sense in your posts here. Consequently, I take your comments seriously. I will look more closely at this group.
Mac, I do, too…
Seems they lack any idea of strategy, but I assume it plays well in their districts and that’s all they care about.
Where were they when the omnibus was getting rammed through?
Don’t worry. It sucked when it left the House. It sucks less now. It will pass.
If they make any changes to the bill, won’t that require a revote in the Senate?
This is exactly what Senator Murkowski (Uni-Party-Alaska) DEMANDED last week. She voted for the BBB but said, “it needs more work and wants the House to send it back to the Senate”.
Got a feeling this is the game being played at this time, by the Uni-party.
Hopefully, Speaker Johnson avoids a “compromise” with the Freedom Caucus that does what Murkowski demanded.
It was the same Freedom Caucus (just a few different faces) that scuttled President Trump’s first tax cut and balanced budget as ORIGINALLY proposed in 2017, to save sacred cows of the Wall Street Masters.
This is subject to minute-by-minute play, but as of Wed afternoon, a rule for how it is to be handled was passed out of the Rules Committee 7-6 and sent to the floor for consideration. I did a quick search I couldn’t find the text for the rule, but assume it allows limited debate split R/D and doesn’t allow any amendments. So the rule needs to be adopted then consideration of the actual bill as received from the Senate.
The legislation is not perfect. But House Republicans should not let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
I will be ok with “optimal”, for now…
We must all live our best lives and try and reclaim the financial and emotional losses inflicted upon us by Bribem’s Autopen. Life is not about the money per se but is necessary for survival (abusers, domestic or political, use finances for control of their victim, never forget that).
Hopeful for those who’s family unity was destroyed by the Creeping Covid Commies.
Every journey…starts with a first step.
We approach this 4th of July with a hopeful heart and newfound confidence.
And if nothing else, we outnumber them…be the candle holder in the Old North Church…or a Sybil Ludington saddling her horse…Vigilant.
Do the House Republicans even know who wrote the Bill or what was in it before they signed off on it?? Do our esteemed “Lawmakers” have an any idea how to write a Bill anymore?
I don’t remember voting for Lobbyists, Staffers or Empty Suit Rubber Stamps..
Jinxy, interesting question, as Sundance has posted on occasion, that legislation is often written by lobbyists on K Street…and I have also read somewhere on Al Gore’s internet, that each Congressman has a Big pHarma lobbyist appointed to them…
So, very good question…enquiring minds want to know…
Cheers m’lady!
We think alike…
And I just love reaching back into a ‘wayback machine’ …..
<I just love reaching back into a ‘wayback machine’>
Peabody and Sherman agree 🙂
🤣
No. Their staffs will have figured out what sections are important to their voters and kept up to speed on those. Meanwhile they will be whipped by the party with promises/threats.
If we’re honest you can’t even call it good.
It’s less than mediocre.
House Update:
The bill passed the rules committee in spite of no votes from Chip Roy and Rep Norman.
But the planned 9am floor vote is on hold until all GOP reps arrive.
As of 10:29 am 38 GOP are absent. Weather supposedly caused many airport cancellations yesterday.
.
https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/07/02/us/trump-policy-bill-news
Is Nancy Mace there yet? She was driving…
She’s a fan of medical cannabis isn’t she?
I do not know…just that her flights out of Charleston were canceled yesterday, due to the weather…
She lost all credibility with me when she suggested she’d welcome the Disney Curse into her State when ron! had his fake spat with his friends at the Reedy Creek Development Board.
IMHO…Disney is another “product” facing its “lifecycle”…I think they reached ‘maturity’…and gave one last gasp and the gasp revived them.
The Orlando Rat is not a good neighbor.
No, the “bill” did not pass the rules committee. The committee passed a rule that determines how the bill can be debated/amended/passed.
The senate allowed provisions for the green new scam to continue on – and by the gov’t subsidizing ( wind, solar ) some alternative energies that have a high cost and low benefit,
then
those gov’t costs add to debt and undercuts
the potentially growing national growth rate,
and
the growth rate ( greater than 3% )
is needed
to help reduce the national debts over time.
( in addition to spending cuts in other apprpriation bills )
Also,
there is a loophole in the senate version of the amended bbb
that still allows states to use a backdoor to obtain federal funds,
– which could be used to fund states Medicare for illegal immigrants ( non taxpayers )
[ costing taxpayers more money ].
Those things are mentioned by a gop congress person speaking on war room.
10:45 am ET
( prior to voting on procedure, and meeting in the Whitehouse)
There is a potential to amend the current bbb bill, pass it it house – and send it back to the senate.
[ most gop agree and bigly want the tax cuts – which would take affect on Oct 1.
( not July 4th ).
That big want
could pull some other good ideas, via cleaning up the language, removing hidden loop holes
into the reconciliation bbb.]
Imho
The House didn’t do enough to stop the ‘Green Energy’ subsidies (Climatist scam) and the Senate made them worse. They are nothing but a huge waste of taxpayer money, but are working to wreck our electric grid nationwide. They have to be stopped.
Does anyone know what is going on with the greenies in California…and the demands for trucks to be non fossil fuel…you know those trucks that go to the ports and pick up containers?
Haven’t heard much about that, lately…
I think this is accurate:
On June 12, 2025, President Donald J. Trump signed three Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolutions (H.J. Res. 87, H.J. Res. 88, and H.J. Res. 89) that disapproved EPA waivers granting California authority to enforce its own vehicle emissions standards. These resolutions blocked California’s Advanced Clean Cars II, Advanced Clean Trucks, and Omnibus Low NOX programs, which aimed to impose stricter greenhouse gas emissions limits, nitrogen oxide regulations, and an electric vehicle mandate. The actions were taken to prevent California from regulating national fuel economy and imposing what was described as a nationwide electric vehicle mandate, citing that such standards should be set by the federal government due to the interstate nature of air quality.
I remember PDJT signed this (this is Congressional action, so it is better than an executive order).
When Obama used the phrase “spending in the tax code”, I told everyone I know that he considered all our income as property of the government, proving he was a communist.
Now, all of DC routinely speaks like this.
This is where NYC mayoral candidate Mamdami comes from, and why he feels free to toss around ideas about robbing Peter to spend money on Paul … or whatever he wishes.
Freedom caucus needs to be absolutely destroyed. Massie and Roy need to go down in the midterms that should probably terrify the remaining losers to get with the program or retire.
PDJT is anything but Joe Biden, Trump is turned on, tuned in, and knows the nuances; look at that pic, he is monitoring every thing that Johnson says, he’s looking over their shoulders, don’t you know they literally hate him for it.
The AI moratorium was over the top. I am glad to see that scraped and hope it stays that way.
As I have said before if the drafters thought infringing on states rights was allowable to mandate a carve out for big tech they could have also done a complete moratorium on state legislation against infringement of the 2nd amendment. Yet they did not.
People have lost their minds accepting this.
Debt is debt, the expectation was a BUDGET yet here we are with 139th CR in 29 years being cheered. The only muster-able defense being… ad hominem. How pro big government can you get?
And TWO more in planning to pile on top of it… LOL!
Before the MAGA crowd was so easily manipulated into progressive ideology this would be correctly labeled as Keynesian economics.
Oh yeah I know… “this time” it’s “better” and I’m just a jerk for saying the obvious.
I agree with what you are saying. I surmise we will never see an approved budget again. Unsustainable unless we finally call an end to the Fed, fiat currencies, and illegitimate debt.
Do you all remember when Iceland called the debt bluff in 2008? Big talking heads at the time literally labeled Iceland guilty of financial terrorism.
Obviously CRs and big beautiful bills don’t help us in the long run.
If the United States tried calling the debt bluff like Iceland, the bankers would instigate a world war.
That being said, we desperately need an economy that actually produces most things again before we can even attempt to tackle that.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not impressed with some of the amendments added to this bill either, but I do not see a more direct path to that end with better odds then this one.
Yup, the Administrative State is currently licking their chops. Sitting back relishing how conservatives now eat their own.
Government spending is about to skyrocket. But hey, foreign import tariffs will pay for it all so fiscal conservatives get smeared to the curb. We got tooled into believing (R) was about limiting the size of government. Nope, it was always only about limiting (D) from controlling the checkbook. Better us than them no doubt but limited- government enthusiasts got rolled.
I think curtailing the administrative regulatory state will be coming soon…we are on day 164…a lot has been done…”Let’s see what happens”….and “Thank you for your attention to this matter”.
It seems we still have some meddling judges out there…
The way I see it, over the last 20 years the R and D NGOs (yes they are both actually NGOs). Are just juxtaposed progressives factions fighting over the same socialist pathway.
There are very few conservatives and the Right largely does its best to pollute the definition with the “social conservative” idolgies… Which is unwinnable and just leads to bigger government.
Another way of saying it…
MAGA has literally become the John Birch Society on steroids. Every argument is progressive based thinking of what direction more “government at gunpoint” should be pushed… And PARANOID to boot!
They can’t see the trap and base most everything not off of law, or constitutional bounds but off “feelings” or some perverted idea the Constitution is a living document. (Obama literally taught that philosophy).
We use to make fun of liberals for these things… Now days, oh boy!
Pretty much agree. Not limited to social conservatives though. Peace through strength conservatives and now fiscal conservatives are targeted within with demagoguery. Look at how this very community has recently, relentlessly been steered to accept claims that Trump started WW3, caved to warmonger Graham were actually credible conservative opinions. Nowadays, it’s if you want the no tax on social security promise left in the bill you’re a traitorous villain. It’s pathetic the way this attack our own mode has emerged as our first response. Our thought leaders on the right do to us exactly what we hated observing the lefts opinion setters do. Roll out fear, smear and disparage rather than civilly engage those who have their own opinion. Talk about not being able to take a win. Jeesh!
This is not a budget. This is a Reconciliation Bill. The budget happens in October.
Thank you for stating the facts.
We can’t say this enough. Maybe louder…..THIS IS NOT A BUDGET BILL.
No, saying it louder doesn’t make it so. It is very much a budget bill and contains new mandatory spending numbers. For DoD it’s about $100 billion.
Observer SC said, “The budget happens in October.”
It is my understanding (per exact dates from Sundance) that this nation has had a budget since about 2009. I’m old enough that I miss following the debates and outcomes re appropriations bills.
But we’ve lost the language, so there’s that………………….
Yes, appropriations is the correct term. But it is that which gives the budget for the government to operate for the next fiscal year.
If the R’s think they are going to get away with another CR instead of the proper order…. AGAIN, then they better think again!
I fully expect them to get to work on the individual appropriations as soon as this bill is passed so that we have all of them in time for September.
“the budget” isn’t coming, Johnson has already said this. He’s planning two more CRs.
You guys are fooling yourselves by ignoring the truth that’s right in front of you.
No. The budget sets the toplines for revenue/taxes, mandatory spending, interest on the debt, and discretionary spending. Discretionary spending is about 1/4 of the entire budgeted expense and is funded through the 11 annual appropriation acts, which due to the split Senate have typically been rolled into a consolidated appropriations bill after the start of the new FY. Congress did pass the MILCON/VA appropriation for FY24 (P.L. 118-42) as an exception to this trend.
Should note the “budget” was passed in April (H. Con. Res. 14) and the OBBB (H.R. 1) is a reconciliation to that budget.
For the OBBB, should also note that it makes certain new spending “mandatory” and thus outside of the appropriations process.
You are Pretending to Not Know Things.
Yes, Indeedy!
No I’m calling out the Kool-aid that the “social conservatives” are choking themselves on.
I’m sorry, but … I still have enormous concerns about any “1,000+ plus page monster” which politicians refer to as a “Big Beautiful Bill.” Obviously, it certainly is “big.” But it is also: “1,000+ pages, take it [all …] or leave it [all …].” What’s so “beautiful” about that?!
Sure, you’re being “sold” on the “goodness” on pages 21 and 107, but what about the rest of it?
Many other nations have addressed this problem by imposing a “page-limit” on bills, and by insisting that they must concern only one topic. Yes, this means a whole lot more work for them, but it also means that a “yes or no” vote is meaningful.
They read it? I doubt it…the King James Bible is about 1200-1500 pages, how many average folks have read that in one sitting? Gone with the Wind, first printing, 1037 pages…
Totally Agree! A bill that addresses a single topic can be published in 15 pages. And Reading it takes less HW time than we ask of 7th graders.
Vote yes or no tomorrow . On the record! The people will soon discover who their congress critters are.
To me, the fundamental problem is yet to be solved. Back in the day, “a bill” had to be hand-scribed on perhaps a single piece of vellum. Today, it can easily be several thousand pages. So: “Vote ‘yes’ or ‘no?'” About a single, massive document that contains both ‘yes’ and ‘no?'”
Houston, we have a problem . . .
I’ve heard this problem stated several times this week:
Single topic bills are purposefully dead on arrival because they require 60 votes in the Senate.
Only reconciliation allows us to get around the DementoRats with just Rs.
The good news is that there can be more reconciliation bills.
Trump is the only thing that has changed the status quot in the last 40+ years. If he says he wants this I want to give it to him.
The alternative — which is what they all want — is return to business as usual and that is unacceptable.
So yes, I’ll take a partial win, and honestly I’m not real impressed with those that would prefer 100% failure.
Agree completely!
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
The no tax on overtime and even tips is a scamming bs smoke-and-mirror. I am ok with what is in the bill on this but will not pretend and celebrate it is really no-tax on either.
From Bankrate:
“Overtime wages would still be subject to withholding, but workers could deduct federal income taxes paid on those wages when filing their returns, even if they don’t itemize. The deduction would apply to tax years 2025 through 2028.
The White House estimates that the average overtime worker would receive a tax cut of between $1,400 and $1,750 annually. But experts argue that the tax benefits wouldn’t benefit those who earn lower levels of income.
It sounded good at first…am thinking about our electric company workers who make double time on a second of two back to back OT shifts…will be a drop in the bucker.
But its a start…
Lower-level income earners pay no tax to begin with; so now they’re still wanting the middle class to pay more??
🤪
The money paid in overtime still has to be accounted for. So now there’s a new line on your 1040, there’s a new box on w2’s. I don’t see the problem.
With no taxes on tips, one could argue that you don’t have to give as much money to the waiter. The money they don’t pay in taxes can stay in your pocket.
Isn’t it capped at $35k/year?
Except for refundable tax credits, no tax “cut” is going to affect someone who doesn’t have to pay any income tax anyway; that shouldn’t be news to anyone.
For withholding, that’s what a W-4 is for. But I guess a lot of folks prefer to be over-withheld so they get a big “refund”.
MTG said she is hearing whispers of another CR in Oct……
hhhm to me MTG has been sounding a bit unstable these days. Sometimes she’s good, sometimes crazy.
Anyway, the reconciliation bill isn’t a CR of course and MTG knows that. And her hearing whispers, well I’m not sure sure her angle yet. We’ll see.
Agree.
I have not heard of any regular order bills being worked on so, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out another CR is coming.
I new the tide would change this afternoon..
House passed the FY26 MILCON/VA. Agriculture, Defense, Homeland Security, and Legislative bills have been passed out of committee. It’s hard to see all bills being sent to the Senate and passed by 30 Sep.
House Bill Status:
A troup of malcontents are headed to the White House to talk w President Trump.
They have a mix of competing desires and demands, but basically want to send the bill back to the Senate for various conflicting changes or go into a House-Senate negotiation conference .
Either action puts the entire bill in jeapardy given that the Senate barely passed this bill after round-the-clock multi-days process requiring Vance to break the tie.
From the NY Times:
“Speaking to reporters from the steps of the Capitol, Representative Chip Roy of Texas said there were enough Republicans “right now” who want to change the sweeping policy bill and send it to a conference to resolve differences with the Senate, suggesting the votes were not there in the House to move forward. That would not only push a final vote past the July 4 deadline set by the president, but threaten to derail the measure carrying his domestic agenda altogether, given how narrowly it has passed both chambers.”
.
https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/07/02/us/trump-policy-bill-news
hope chip, et al., get a Big Beautiful “NO”.
Actually … I would not call them “a troop of malcontents.” Maybe I would describe them as “the Constitutional(!) system, working as it should.”
Right now, we have more than a thousand pages of text being described by politicians as “big” (oh yes, it is!) and “beautiful.”
So – “are we being gamed?” I say this quite seriously. It’s okay to “hit the ‘Pause’ button.”
When you ask “are we being gamed”? This is President Trump’s legacy MAGA agenda bill. Are asking if POTUS is gaming us? No—I trust President Trump more than most people walking this planet.
As Sundance has cautioned us, President Trump will do the maximum possible, he won’t be able to deliver perfection, he’ll deliver what is doable in the real world.
This is President Trump’s MAGA Agenda Bill –it is key to his agenda.
A lot of good in it:
and more
But, “993 pages more.” Of course I worry. I don’t trust any of these people!
I would love to see Chip Roy primaried out of political existence. I’m sick of his grandstanding, particularly since he’s been bought-and-paid-for by the Chinese a thousand times over. Done with it!
Chip Roy is my representative, I have grown tired of his shtick. They don’t understand the tariff implication as the package is potentially debt neutral. Chip is a professional complainer. While pretending to stand on principle. It’s time for a change.
I think most people don’t understand the consequences of forthcoming of the Tariffs. They will bring in more $ than the crappy loophole tax regime did.
As a fellow Texan, I agree with you . For a few years now, I have been saying that liberal Austin Chipper needs to go.
I absolutely agree. We don’t need another Massie/Paul obstructionist. Roy never gets anything done…except for covid restrictions– he loved those!!
Agree….As long as we don’t get another stinkin’ liberal or…pretender…..
If President Trump continues his winning; I would expect to see the tariffs will reduce our debt by trillions more than many “experts” believe,(or will admit), and tariffs will be used to offset our debt and decrease our tax burden in the future.
What these “principled politicians” are wary of is that they will lose their kick-backs when negotiating their votes on various legislation.
The majority of our deficit is based on waste, fraud and abuse.
President Trump is providing the evidence.
Which is more important:
Promoting growth, or
Reducing the deficit?
I may be naive,
but I think reducing the deficit is better for America in the long run.
I think that is the true conservative POV.
Reducing the deficit via growth is the only viable path imo.
85 percent of our federal budget is mandatory entitlements like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security.
As a result, cost cutting on the remaining 15% can only take us so far, it will be a teaspoon in the ocean –won’t solve our current debt problem.
It’s like a person earning $7.25 an hour on a part-time job carrying several hundred thousand in debt. Cutting costs for that person would have minimal impact on paying down the mountain- sized debt. Getting a much better paying job would be the better focus.
Yes, but there is a way to reduce the deficit besides cost-cutting:
Raising taxes.
Of course then the argument becomes:
Whose taxes should be raised?
I vote for raising taxes on the uber-wealthy.
They will leave the country, because…. they are wealthy and can.
A graduated income tax is a main tenant of Communism
The uber wealthy were just gifted permanent tax cuts by Republicans.
Raising taxes would never fly.
I vote for raising taxes on you
Those über-wealthy are usually the job producers which keep people employed and the economy afloat.
What you’re proposing is exactly what Mamdami is proposing for New York City … and why hordes of people are looking to escape.
It’s the Marxist ideas that your money that you worked for [earned, invested, whatever] actually belongs to the government to decide, sua sponte, how much it is entitled to take – some, more, lots more, all. This idea is polar opposite of American independence, but after a century or nearly so of a nanny-state in which people for generations become so dependent on the government taking care of them that they think it is the responsibility of government to do so, many no longer appreciate Americanism.
This hits me every time I read some comment about “the government ought to/where am I supposed to live/I’m on the list/I only get [$ } for food every month/they ought to make sure my kids get ____/where’s my Obamaphone?”
Of course, everyone votes to raise someone else’s taxes.
Define uber-wealthy.
growth, or Reducing the deficit?
I ran the numbers, and the answer is growth. The problem is explaining it without math, which makes people’s eyes roll up in their head.
Bessent (Sec of Treasury) makes the point that the overspending by the gov’t (unfortunately) adds to the economy, and cutting it quickly will cause a recession. But Americans will respond by voting out the party in power. So that is the first consideration. It’s political, but important.
Second, the real problem is the economy is growing slowly (Congressional Budget Office assumes 1.8% real gdp growth). If inflation stays at 2.2% (that’s where it is now), the Gross Domestic Product (gdp) will grow at 4%. Math: if something grows at 4% for 10 years, it will be (1.04)^10 = 1.48 times bigger. So if we are at (roughly) 30 trillion gdp, in 2035, we are at 44 trillion. In the meantime, CBO expects on the current $2T overspend per year (definitely out of control), total “public debt” grows from 28T to 48T.
The key index of debt/income is 48/44 = 1.09 . We are currently at 0.99.
The rule of thumb is under 0.8 is “safe.” Higher than 0.9 slows down the economy. Of course, if debt grows faster than income, it becomes a catastrophe. So the US should do something.
On the other hand, tariffs (besides bringing in $), slows down imports, and that turns into growth of the US economy. (Too hard to explain.)
Also, if you get rid of regulations (example: US has not built oil refineries, nuke plants, rare earth processing plants, all because of regs. If they are built, we will do much better)
Also, if you incentivize (or coerce) lots of money to be invested in the US, the economy grows.
The point of all that, is PDJT’s agenda is expected to increase that 1.8% real growth to 4.0% (or even more). Again assuming 2.2% inflation, the gdp grows by a factor of (1.062)^10 = 1.8, so in 2035, expect to see a gdp of 30*1.8= 54T.
If the One BBB works as expected, instead of adding 20T, we will add less than 10T (yes, a lot of debt), and in 2035, we have 38T in debt, and income of 54T. The key ratio is now 38/54 = 0.7, which is less than 0.8. In other words, though it is a lot of debt, the economy is so much bigger, we can handle it.
and you are not paying attention
reducing the deficit is stage two
Our Congress Critters are not serious people.
Who travels 8 hours in a vehicle overnite wearing pajamas?!?!
These people are so unserious. All they want is a camera on them. This house needs cleaning.
So true. They occupy such privileged positions, and act like 2nd graders.
That’s just stupid.
Glad she could make it…Love the suitcase…
more grandstanding just to get media attention
Who voted for these people?
The Dems are asking for unanimous consent amendment about medicaide and SNAP. which is not allowed. 100 Dems used exactly the same words over and over again. Each time it was not granted. How very stupid can they get? Just wasting time to hold up the bill coming to the floor.
They look like fools. They should be ashamed.
I should note that I am not sure about the language with regard to Medicare and Medicaide.
Jim “Hot Air” Jordan has been very quiet lately.
A phony, just like Trey Gowdy and Darrell Issa.
I understand little of the bill.
It is a mystery to me.
I can’t tell what is in it… at all.
Just B.S.
But, I do have a theory:
If the economy is supposed to take off like a bullet, why the debt ceiling increase?
You’d have to assume you’d never need that if this thing is going to work.
The debt should by all rights, start making a turndown.
So, why this?
Because the debt will come due before the increased revenue shows up.
The revenue is supposed to increase day by day.
Or interest rates are lowered on the debt payments.
Well, you can make up any numbers you want about “growing out of the deficit”, “dynamic scoring” whatever. If it makes you feel better about reduced tax rates, increased spending rates then great, go for it.
This bill is going to pass. If there weren’t the votes in the House to pass the bill as amended in the Senate, then they would be going to conference committee to craft a compromise both houses could pass. The swooning holdouts are grandstanding.
Where are the Rate Cuts?
Why a raise in the debt ceiling if this bill is going to make the economy great?
Aren’t we ever going to start to pay down the debt?
nope.
You’re thinking of this as if there is not a plan. Think of it more like investing on something that’s actually going to have a return. Instead of the past 50+ years of them spending on frivolous s–t that was worthless. You raise the ceiling to achieve your return on investment.
They also raised it to take away the possible arrow in the Dems quiver of not approving increases with all the stupid Continuing Resolutions.
There is no shortage of waste in this.
Ok, then go vote for the democrats.
Small difference except at least they are honest about destroying the Nation.
Spending increased, by my recollection from $4T to almost $6.5Trillion under Biden (if memory serves). Now it’s set to increase to over $8T. D.O.G.E. has lifted the veil only slightly, to show the American people where all that money went. Fraud, waste, abuse (illegal political spending).
Why can’t the GOP House and Senate cut that?
I understand the need for increased spending to RETAIN Trump’s original tax cuts (keeping a tax cut = “Trump” spending?!), for the border, and “motherhood and apple pie”. Why can’t the GOP cut ANYTHING AT ALL?!
I’ll let Sundance answer your question re how and when the DOGE cuts will happen. Below is from Sundance’s post-article on July 1:
“The original plan was always to use rescission bills to cut out the DOGE waste. Per Senate rules, the rescissions/cuts cannot be done until after the initial funding bill is passed (that’s BBB). Timeline: July – BBB, Aug – Rescission bills to cut DOGE waste (examples), and Sept – FY 2026 Budget bill which begins October 1st.”
.
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2025/07/01/speaker-mike-johnson-wants-big-beautiful-bill-through-house-by-independence-day/
You don’t spend anything for tax cuts. Historically every tax cut has resulted in increased revenue to the federal government. That’s a fact. Quit thinking that the government is giving away money for a tax cut. It doesn’t have to give (budget) anything away.
Texan need to work on getting rid of the Austin liberal known as Chip Roy.
House Update:
The House is now in the midst of a procedural vote. Lots of huddling in groups on the floor of the House.
Speaker Johnson is currently meeting with Harris, the head of the Freedom Caucus.
A yes on the procedural vote is needed to bring the MAGA bill to the House floor for a vote.

Isn’t it the ONE Big Beautiful Bill? (emphasis on the one)
These brain locked HFC RINOs are insufferable. First, these dofuses have been slamming the BBB regarding supposed deficit spending because it’s going to increase the debt, when in reality during the “negotiations” the debt has already gone down courtesty of increased income due to tarrifs just kicking in and DOGE actions not withstanding the complete demolition of USAID as a functional entity. Second, let us not forget their tears about the softening of clean energy tax credits. Well given that tax credits are time limited and are only applicable if the recipient pays sufficient taxes to utilize them plus the fact that the Democrats totally trashed the economy with respect to employment and wages, it appears that the majority of the electorate is more interested in having money in their pocket and not the government’s as a result of a tax cut but also continuing our economic expansion and employment opportunites that POTUS Trump initiated which all will greatly be expanded as a result of the BBB. And last but not least the BBB additionally seriously addresses other significant problems in need immediate resolution that, again, were a result of the previous adminstration.
the BBB
nothing is codified so its all ending in 2028
no tax on whatever and all the tax breaks will all go away
what’s the point?
what was won? kicking the can?
so if a new congress or President comes in and doesn’t reenact it,
it will all go away
its all temporary and BS
this isn’t what President Trump put forward
now its all temporary only to keep us quiet.
CONgress never disappoints
The main component of this bill was to make the original 2017n tax cuts PERMANENT. If the bill does not pass, we will ALL get a huge tax increase.
The other tax cuts are temporary so the R’s are going to have to work on getting those made permanent also. I assume they want to see how they work before that happens.
That’s not true at all. Lower-income folks will see their tax bills go up 2-3%. Read up on it. That’d hardly “huge”.
I don’t understand why people making under $400k/year celebrate this. TJCA has always skewed towards the top 1-5%.
We saved almost $40k in taxes last year off the backs of poor people. Didn’t feel right, but we were happy to go on an extra vacation.
No idea what you are talking about…
no its not
These congress critters are overwhelmed by an overpowering sense of how important they are. They are totally convinced their perspective is the most important thing evah. You doubt it? Ask them.
The reality is that only 2 things matter in this bill: 1) permanent tax rates (else we see a big problem just in time for the mid-terms) 2) big increase in border security, and deportation capacity (remove or frighten out as many as possible.)
Nothing else matters very much. Nice to have, nice to crow about, but in the big scheme, 2nd tier issues that can be addressed in other ways… if the dummies can hold the house and senate.
I hope they pass this BBB quickly!
.
I am praying that the states fight the in vitro fertilization (ivf) provision in the BBB, tooth and nail.
.
I hope it is ok to disagree with certain provisions of the BBB but seek recourse in the Courts.
.
My sincere conviction is that IVF is a State’s Rights issue.
I wondered if the Elon feud was a ruse. Seemed a little far-fetched, but it could get the Dems to support Elon’s candidates because they hate PDJT (and the Dems have no good candidates).
I’m not sure if a 3rd party could primary a Republican Rino or a Dem. But, Elon can always donate to a challenger, even if he starts this new party.
But, then I saw the Senate moved the ‘Elon EV tax credit’ sunset EARLIER. It is 9/30/25 in the Senate bill, which is changed from 12/31/25 in the House bill.
That made me think the feud is real. But then again, maybe the House puts it back to 12/31/25 and this is part of the performance.
I am a teeny Red dot in an extremely Blue area.
Democrats despise Elon 1000x more than Conservatives do. They’d never align their vote to him.
They would, however, vote for a one-legged toad at this point as long as it has a (D) next to the name.
No government shut-down?
Shucks, they never work anyway.
The employees just get a paid vacation and the dang government opens right up again.
This is not a government funding bill. It is a Reconciliation bill. The appropriations/budget happens in October and this is when we usually end up with a CR because of a looming government shutdown… which better NOT happen this year!
There really needs to be a graduated chat forum here at CTH, where the informed, insightful, and valuable posters can earn a chance to be elevated (and separated from) the uninformed whiners, the pessimists, and the flat out ignorant…while the latter can aspire/work towards earning a place in the elevated forum.
Ex: the BBB.
So many Trump supporters are running with the negative crap, with no comprehension of the great good within this bill. When you ask the whiners “name the good things it does”, they have nothing to say, because of ignorance.
The folks who truly add value (and I do not claim to be one of those) should be elevated and separated from the run-‘o-the-mill riff-raff so we can read the value-add and skip the no-value BS.
Just a suggestion. Please and thanks.
That would only leave Sundance.
Well, okay, a few others.
Good is subjective, and one of the great things about this forum is that there are many flavors here.
Good can be judged by the moderators, whose criteria can be set by Sundance.
And a lot of the “flavors” you mention are garbage. Reading time is valuable.
The last few weeks the thread has been replete with trolls and fake pro-American supporters, their job is to offer the depressing parts of the bill … over and over and over, as you say.
When I have time I read most of the posts anyway, but over the years you do learn to appreciate some more than others.
Yes, I have noticed the flood of new posters here at CTH over the past month or so.
The first deluge of concern junkies was about President Trump starting World War 3 if he were to bomb the nuclear facilities in Iran. “The sky is falling, the sky is falling, Trump is losing his mental faculties and betraying MAGA! Oh, woe is me.” Funny how they have now all but vanished from these pages.
This second batch is similar. “The Bill cannot just be great or good, it needs to be perfect. If not, then passage is a renunciation of MAGA’s core principles!”
This too will blow over. The drama queens have carefully calibrated their exit times from DC for the Independence Day vacation starting Thursday night. There are enough votes to pass it. As of this writing, it is passing 213-212, with all 212 Demo-communists voting “no” as an ovine bloc, as is their custom and wont.
None of the holdouts is going to have the guts to kill the bill by voting “no” ala John McStain on the Affordable Care Act repeal vote. I would not be surprised if the ringleaders just abstain or vote present, like chicken-*hit Barack Hussein Obama did in the Illinois legislature over 100 times. They can then claim zero responsibility for any (unlikely) deleterious effects the BBB might have on the country.
In the meantime, I plan to avoid the Congressional Strassentheater (hat tip to Ausonius) and go out and watch a Little League All-Star championship game.
My suggestion would be that more of us check out ‘lastrefuge2twitter’ more often – it is a goldmine of good pertinent stuff!
Do y’all think this will pass. T. Massie says he has 10 others who will block.
It’s tough making predictions, especially about the future.
But so far, the pack is refusing to vote for many minutes (or hours), and then 1 votes (for the R’s), then a long delay. For example, right now the vote is 212-212 with 8 R’s not (yet) voting, and all the D’s voted.
Apparently, Thomas Massie claims to have 10 House Republican “no” votes on the BBB.
What an unadulterated slime-ball.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/07/here-we-go-massie-says-he-has-vote/
I heard Massie is principled, so it’s ok.
<giggles>
Aggiegirl has an oceanfront lot for sale in the northern panhandle of Texas…with a light house and flag pole…
Please end the green theft.
Tired of driving past acres of wasted farm land……
Note to Republicans.
I am watching the procedures in the House. You are your own worst enemy. You are very slow to vote, eating up the time for bill to come to the floor for a final vote. Always something to complain about, anything to slow things down and grandstand. What on earth has happened to you.
By being your own worst enemy you are becoming an enemy of the people that put you in office. Get off your duff and VOTE on time.
Agree with you.
There’s been 9 “R” holdouts for the past 20-30 minutes, in addition to the overall slow R voting.
It’s the “principled” Massie fighting for you!
Thomas Massie is a jackass. He claims he has ten “no” votes on the BBB.
I hope like 🔥🔥 he gets primaried.
At this point, what purpose does Rand Paul or Massie serve?
Obstruction Central, Inc. 👺
Massie campaigned against Trump during the primary, he voted against E-Verify for illegals, he voted against the border wall funding, and yet there are people who look at him like he’s some sort of patriot.
That must be why we have been waiting nearly 60 minutes for the 9 republicans to vote on an amendment. The Freedom causus I understand from comments by a commentator on CSPAN.
It is down to 8 now.
