New York City Comptroller Brad Lander locked arms with an illegal alien as immigrations officials were removing the target for deportation. Lander purposefully interfered in a federal apprehension of a criminal alien, and should be prosecuted.
The media are selectively showing a portion of the video after Lander is handcuffed by police. However, in the earlier segment below you can clearly see Mr Lander intentionally locking arms with the target in an effort to stop ICE enforcement from taking custody. WATCH:

Footage and video of the hectic incident is firing up the third-place candidate’s suddenly energetic campaign, as he shows himself taking on an issue that’s central to President Donald Trump’s political agenda.
“I’m not obstructing, I’m standing right here in the hallway. I asked to see the judicial warrant,” the candidate says in the video.
Lander, the New York City comptroller, was at 26 Federal Plaza in downtown Manhattan on Tuesday morning to observe an immigration hearing when he walked out of the courtroom locking arms with a Yoruba-speaking immigrant, according to Lander’s wife, Meg Barnette. (more)

News so far is kind of unclear, but it seems some federal attorney at SDNY let him be released without charges but that he is still under “investigation”. Hochul was only there to escort him out to the inevitable gaggle of MSM for his anti-Trump press minute. But maybe they will still charge him if he is actually still under investigation? The full video of the incident sure seems like he at least intentionally obstructed the ICE agents who were only doing their duty.

Perhaps an elbow to the face would cure this attitude. For a DOJ that ran its’ mouth, how can any of these charges be dropped? The DOJ is a joke. Only the poor and working people get charged and prosecuted. Appearances are everything. Start showing some backbone. The new members of the DOJ got some splainin to do. If I impede an officer, you can bet a paycheck that charges will be pressed, and I will have no one speaking for me. That is the point. If charges continue to be dropped in these cases the justice system will never be taken seriously by people like me. I am 64 and have been working since I was 10 on the farm. Why should I respect the law when it only works against me and for the truly privileged?
