A U.S. nuclear “sniffer” plane just took off from Offutt AFB in Omaha, home to U.S. Strategic Command and is now flying strange patterns across several northern states.
This aircraft, the WC-135R Constant Phoenix, only goes up when there’s a serious nuclear concern. It’s one of just three in existence and is built to detect nuclear fallout in real time.

If you search “Ramat Gan news” (which I do regularly because there are people I love who live and work there), you will see new reports of ballistic missile damage; but also older reports of random missiles crashing into homes and businesses. Even the public playgrounds have bomb shelters, with emergency instructions not just in Hebrew but also English, Arabic and Russian.
When the missiles come down, teachers must herd small children into bomb shelters. Working mothers (most of the young women) must stop going to work and mind children who can’t go to school. Fathers get called up for reserve duty. People become crazy from lack of sleep.

Somehow, I think Pres. Trump is at the point that Israel is going to do what it thinks it wants to do. He tried to stop this peacefully and I seem to remember he asked Bibi to give him those 60 days before any hot war. He got his 60 days, kept warning Iran that on the 61 day, all bets were off and Israel would be free to do what they were going to do. He begged the Iranians to come to a nuclear agreement by the end of the 60 day window and they did not do it.
He seems resigned that Israel wants to eliminate the Iranian leadership completely. I think He is preparing for any eventuality in regards to American safety and will give Israel what he thinks they need, what they agreed to, trying to keep this war contained to the two countries involved, to end this conflict sooner than later and minimize casualties on both sides.
That’s my take anyway and it could be completely incorrect but that’s where I am right now. I do not believe Pres. Trump will involve USA troops on the ground in this conflict unless something really big happens to Israel’s ability to finish this job themselves and another country comes in to fight alongside Iran.
We shall see what the next few days bring and I am very worried about the possibilities that might change the whole picture and outcome. Pray harder than ever before that God keeps Israel on the path to ending all of this quickly and America on the path to bring about a peace agreement.

Father, You are the God of all nations, the One who raises up kings and brings them low. You hold the hearts of rulers in Your hand and direct them like streams of water wherever You please. And so today, Lord, we come humbly and boldly before Your throne, asking for divine intervention in a time of tension, fear, and potential war.
God, we lift up these nations to You. Not as places on the map, but as people in desperate need of Your mercy. We know that war is not Your first desire, for You are a God of justice, but also of peace. We pray that You would restrain the hands of the wicked and silence the voices that thirst for bloodshed and destruction.
Lord, break the pride of violent men and scatter the schemes of those who plot evil. Where leaders are driven by ego, vengeance, or greed, replace their hearts of stone with hearts of flesh. Confound the plans of those who would escalate conflict and bring down fire from heaven not in wrath, but in revival and revelation.
We ask that this moment of crisis would not become another chapter of tragedy, but a turning point of awakening. Let it lead not to missiles in the sky, but to knees on the ground. Not to death and division, but to repentance and redemption. Let people on all sides turn to You, the Prince of Peace, the only King who can calm the storm.
Raise up peacemakers. Send wise counselors. Expose hidden agendas. And Father, if there are those who seek to use chaos for their own gain bring them to light and bring them down.
Let this not be the hour of war, but the hour of salvation. Let fear give way to faith. Let hate be overcome by truth. And may the name of Jesus Christ be lifted high above every border, every army, every ideology.
In Your mercy, Lord, spare us from war. In Your power, lead us to peace.
We pray this in the name of the One who bled to end all bloodshed, Jesus Christ, our Savior and our King.

I believe deeply that President Trump is an amazing genius, who is juggling the whole problem set at one time, and trying to fix it all, before he gets tired. Lets say, by September 2025-ish.
My bets are that he pulls it off. While of course I hedge just in case.

Sherman’s Warning Against War

The North and Lincoln pushed and pushed til they had the war they wanted. Sherman was no prophet, no genius.
And 6 people upvoted this one. The Union had two war generals……..Grant and Sherman. Whether you like the tactics or not it is called overwhelming the enemy. The same thing Sherman eventually had to do in the west with the Indians. You can like it or not. I don’t really care. It is the facts of the matter. A Prophet, maybe not, but the best general Lincoln had. And was does “pushed and pushed til they had the war they wanted” even mean. See the siege of Richmond.
Or maybe we can do McClellan, Burnside, Fighting Joe Hooker etc……….
I’m a great admirer of Sherman, a greatly underrated and largely misunderstood figure in American history.
However, I’d add a quote from a lesser known figure on the other side of the equation, the first Confederate Secretary of State and later Brigadier General Robert Toombs, who advised Jefferson Davis against attacking Fort Sumter.
“Mr. President, at this time it is suicide, murder, and will lose us every friend at the North. You will wantonly strike a hornet’s nest which extends from mountain to ocean, and legions now quiet will swarm out and sting us to death. It is unnecessary; it puts us in the wrong; it is fatal.”
Toombs was correct, but his advice went unheeded and the Confederate political leadership chose a course which ended in the death of perhaps a third of their young men and the destruction of their world.
