There is obviously a significant majority of MAGA Republicans who do not want the U.S. military involved in more foreign conflict.
Also, it’s obvious this is not a scientific poll and more of a ‘sense’ amid the people who use Twitter; people who are often the strongest political influence voices for American politicians; but still, that is quite a remarkable outcome.
We should be all in with Israel and eliminate the threat to stability that Iran represents. Without their 7th century mentality the Middle East could join the modern world.
And how exactly do you propose to do this?
We know from the other half-dozen or so governments that we have smashed in the region that “eliminating the threat” means total anarchy.

I guess the majority of the poll were not influenced by FOX trying to legitimize Mike Pompeo’s position this morning. Very encouraging – it gives me hope that the warmonger’s influence in Washington is waining.

Numbers matter in an opinion poll, but so does distribution. Charlie Kirk’s poll is probably a fairly good representation of MAGA sentiments. Other than that, I couldn’t say.
Not only is the influence waning, but the current reigning generation and their lack of investment in the younger generations is coming at the expense of their legitimacy and credibility. This is a shift in generational thinking.
Like it or not, the younger generations are revolting against what they perceive as “Boomer”-maxims. Why would they invest their lives in defending a foreign country when their own country has earmarked them as wage and tax-slaves to be plundered for the benefit of the current oligarchs? Having a house, a family, or affording groceries, or any of the normal hallmarks of human existence are increasingly unaffordable.
The kids have wisened up to the game and see there is no skin in it for them. They’ve seen their older family members who went to war in Iraq and Afghanistan come back shattered and unsupported. So they are doing what any sensible person would be doing, saying “no thanks” to the silver-haired machinations of the likes of Lindsey Graham and the ghoul of John McCain haunting the halls of the Capitol.
Since when does DC care what the majority of citizens want? If they did, Lurch Boasberg wouldn’t be acting like he’s an untouchable God-Emperor.
Except… this is a precision military operation targeting missile installations, nuclear sites, and specific military leaders inside Iran. There is no war.
Do not conflate it with the full-scale invasions of Iraq or Afghanistan, or with the first Gulf War, which was a direct response to Saddam’s invasion of Kuwait.
Some people, including Sundance, are intentionally conflating these events because it helps them rationalize their dislike for Israel, or whatever else is driving them.

You are right. The U.S. military aid to Israel is a con. All Israel ever needed was backing at the UN Security Council and to be insulated from sanctions from regimes that side with radical Muslims—mostly European countries, because they are terrified of their massive Muslim populations. But the U.S. has to force Israel into buying overpriced crap they do not need from us with our money, i.e. stuff the Israelis could easily produce themselves or purchase on the open market. It has gotten so ridiculous that the Israelis are literally forced to buy U.S.-made M-16s, even though they produce superior firearms and sell them to U.S. civilians. The Middle East has been in turmoil before Jesus was born. Britain wanted a homeland for Jewish people before WW1 ended to have access to oil, the closest source being there at the time. I suspect that a lot of people are conflicted about the Iran/Israel situation. The Mullahs represent an extreme of Islam, and it’s not unreasonable to be worried about their aquisition of nuclear weapons. On the other hand, we don’t want to become embroiled in yet another, possibly protracted, conflict. The alternatives are not great, as is often the case in life. One thing to remember, though: Iran represents a minority Muslim sect that doesn’t get a lot of sympathy from the majority.

I’m looking into regional instability and its effect on maritime oil transport out of the region since most oil does go by ship. Even if the U.S. gets zero oil directly from Iran, if tankers in the region are affected by the instability, tankers that supply the U.S. and allies, that could be a factor to consider in the analysis. The Straits of Hormuz loom large in that analysis.
Myself, I haven’t been to the fuel depot for over a year now but our economy in general runs on oil.
Also, how does instability affect cargo transport through the region? We’ve seen past effects from the Houthi operations. War risk affects ship owners who don’t wish to risk their ships in a war zone, affecting shipping of all sorts.
Having gone through all the oil stuff in the 70’s, and working in oil and gas back then, this is, to me, so far, just a blip on the radar screen. Hope it stays that way.

Perhaps the single most positive aspect of PDJTs first term was ‘no wars’. Even the MSM and the Marxist Democrats had to acknowledge, albeit grudgingly, that the US (and the world for that matter) was at relative peace during his first term.
But something has changed.
He campaigned on a promise to end the Ukraine war in 24 hours. That conflict drags on and escalates. He could end it, maybe not in 24 hours, but it could end. But that would require a 100% withdrawal of support from Ukraine. Instead, the US continues to supply weapons, repairs, intelligence, targeting, and certainly has boots on the ground directing traffic, so to speak.
A broken promise.
And now, with some other lesser examples in the mix, we have Iran. The US is supplying Israel with weapons, repairs, intelligence, targeting and (prove me wrong) boots on the ground in some capacity.
Without US support, financial and military, Israel could not go it alone against Iran in a sustained way.
And why are we doing this. The rumblings in the background of ‘regime change’ in Iran make me think GWB is in the WH.
The US is throwing more military weight around the world than we did during the Clinton years, Obama years, Bidan years.
And why?
At home we face the most social, political, moral and economic turmoil than the country has seen since the war between the states.
Eyes off Ukraine. Eyes off the ongoing internal strife. Eyes off the slowing economy. Eyes off the revised BLS numbers showing job losses in Q2 and Q3 2024. Eyes off a housing market teetering in a meltdown.

I’ve heard conflicting information saying President Trump was involved in the decision making for Israel to go ahead with the bombing campaign and that he wasn’t. I do know it was Patriot missiles used by Israel that had been diverted from Ukraine to Israel.
This is a red line for me. Israel is a sovereign country, if they want to wage war – it’s up to them. I don’t want to support Israel financially or in sending weapons. I have the same view regarding Ukraine.

What is really in play is Western Civilization and its survival. Israel is no matter what else a part of and a product of western civilization and its values. The same forces attempting to “fundamentally change” the USA are the same forces destroying Europe and the same forces which want Israel to be destroyed. These opposing interests to western civilization as it now exists use religion, race, societal differences, gender or any other division point to disrupt and confuse the population.
While one can be against another absolute pustule of a situation like the Afghanistan or Iraq conflicts thus far we have avoided another 911. There is a heavy price to the USA military’s ultimate mission which is “Peace through Strength”, one price is the Military Industrial Complex and the war pigs and their yen for any conflict anywhere anytime.
Western Civilization has provided the best living conditions to the most people and advanced the human race…..the common man and woman never had it so good as in the USA, Europe or other parts of the world that share at least some western values.
