You Treepers know my top two priorities in the world of politics: Economic Nationalism (MAGAnomics), and capital letter Liberty, the fight against the surveillance state. In these endeavors the “Tech Bros” are opposed to our positions.
President Trump is focused on #1, economic nationalism. He eats, breathes and thinks about it all the time. It is also his #1 priority. However, President Trump has so many other items of great importance on his desk the surveillance state issue does not yet get his focused attention.
But there is good news. Now that Elon Musk has self-detonated, the “Tech Bros” have lost a key source of influence. The Peter Thiel, David Sacks, Elon Musk, JD Vance and Palantir objective of a comprehensive surveillance state is weakened by President Trump telling Musk to get lost. This is good, and we finally have reason to be optimistic. We need to be patient.
As President Trump works through the priorities of the BBB, ongoing trade negotiations, decoupling from China, working toward the dissolution of the USMCA etc., he is also working through the Ukraine-Russia conflict, the Israel-Gaza conflict, the Iran nuclear issues and other geopolitical events. Once those challenges are majority cleared, hopefully that’s when we will see a confrontation of the surveillance state surface.
If confrontation with the surveillance state is also a priority for you, be patient.
Musk has self-detonated much earlier than I expected. That is awesome, and I carry a big smile today thanking our loving God for His favor, His timing, His unfolding.
Eventually President Trump will see the Palantir constructs that have been laid around the administration by Machiavellian elements. Trump’s hindsight will then be a weapon as he starts asking the big questions to those who have sat silently as the constructs have unfolded.
Live your very best life, it is the only one you have.
Remember, if you are healthy, you likely have a lot of problems on your mind; however, if you are NOT healthy, you only have one.

Just saw at the QT checkout counter an above-the-fold story by USA Today about the ever-expanding surveillance state. I’m no fan of USA Today, but if they too are warning their readership about Palantir encroachment… well, I’ll give the blind sow credit for finding that particular acorn.

I, myself, had started to warm up to Elon. But the suspicion has always been there. SD seems to be always on top of things. He said it, it happened. So far, his score since I’ve been here is 99.9 out of 100. He has been wrong once, about the Russians actually attacking Ukraine. That has been the only wrong call, in all the years I’ve been around. That is a record no one else out here can claim. Well done yet again, SD. The eyes have been opened even more.
And his last few sentences n this post, well, I am not healthy, and in fact things have been steadily getting worse. SD is right, all this stuff going on doesn’t really concern me, I might not live long enough to see MAGA conquer and come out on top and see the people who truly deserve justice, getting it served on them. Which in a way makes me sad, but I have bigger problems at hand. My cancer doesn’t seem to be responding to the treatment. But what can ya do, right?
What concerns me is my relationship with God, and what his plan is for me. I beat in once already, when I wasn’t supposed to. He gave me another chance then. We shall see what happens.

The world is a bit tougher to deal with (Russia, China, Europe…) than he thought. His entire presidency could start to wobble pretty soon …. he will notice that himself… get mad and then lose the good vibe karma he gave off from assasination attempt until about 2 weeks ago… sorry That is just how I see it.
We are supposed to see things as they happen and take them into account. This isn’t about loyalty. If Trump comes out tomorrow saying something which is clearly anti-MAGA, you can be guaranteed Sundance will come out against it. Sundance says it clearly (once in a while he does this and I appreciate it when he does) the agenda is about MAGAnomics for the USA and it’s about freedom from surveillance.
The reason behind the surveillance is totalitarian control. And the reason behind MAGAnomics is also to reassert our national sovereignty in order to thwart global totalitarianism.
So I see the core issues as Globalism/tyranny vs nationalism/freedom.
The whole AI big to-do is all about an end-run around California and Cali wanting to take control of everything regarding AI.
All those tech companies that work in all the AI development, creation and marketing are BASED, and so are controlled, there.
California wants to pass laws regarding AI tech that’s controlled only by California edicts and laws – and all will go through and be governed by what California allows.
Wow, what could go wrong with that?
To paraphrase Scott Adams, when AI becomes useful and/or effective, there is NO WAY the federal government will not take control over it. And it will be to prevent it from telling the truth.
What they WANT is something we believe is truthful but will lie to us. And that is useful. And right now? AI is still making things up in order to appease the curiosity of its users. It will rarely, if ever say “I don’t know about that.” (I’m starting to see that lately though) A system which is a “known liar” (AI hallucinates they say) or is otherwise unreliable isn’t useful for deceiving a public which wants to trust it.
Anecdote: I was compiling some details on a microprocessor instruction set. I was looking for concise summaries of certain details about how these instructions execute. I indicated a particular instruction which I knew existed and had used for years and years. Google’s AI said “It doesn’t have that instruction, but here’s one that it does have which will serve the same purpose.” It was a COMPLETE fabrication and I knew it obviously. I grabbed a screeenshot of it. That was days ago. I just ran the same query and this time got an accurate result. Try it yourself: “6809 instruction BLE” It lied before.
Through a series of pointed questions starting with things like vaccine safety, climate change, etc.. AI would spew nonsensical replies to my inquiries, while quoting unnamed “experts. ”
When I asked who these experts were, it either hedged or replied “CDC.”
I finally drilled down and got AI to admit that AI is a very efficient and highly destructive propaganda tool of government.
We just need to ask the right questions.
I had a similar situation. Being a CPA I know about tax issues. But I was working on one particular issue in 2022, which the treasury ended up asking me for help compiling the guidance on.
My buddy randomly contacted me while I was writing up the brief. He’s a senior AI engineer for Google. And he bragged to me about how mind-blown I will be with the beta AI system they are working on. Then he asks me to give him any question and he will have the correct detailed answer in 20 seconds.
So I proceed with my question about the very code I was writing that had caused all the craziness around this one tax credit. He puts the question in and sends me the answer ten seconds later. WOW, it was so off, and clearly made up because it had elements of many different interpretations of the actual code.
Had I been some tax attorney or doing someone’s books for them as a bookkeeper, I’d have gotten the members of the business arrested for tax evasion. I had to tell him exactly that.
He made all kinds of excuses for why it wasn’t right. I told him, just that one test made me lose 99% confidence the system would ever be efficient. And said it’s going to lead to many court cases.
I knew the AI had MADE UP the answer. I could see the different pieces it had pulled from prior code, AND data that people were HOPING would end up in the code once it was codified. Just awful!!

If Cali government passes any laws they decide to, their state will have proprietary control of all that comes from Silicon valley.

I think I understand your frustration, but try reading this post again. I haven’t heard President Trump bashing Elon. As Sundance noted, he is focused on MAGAnomics as a priority right now and this bill is key to it. Elon has pitched fits before and it is always about what his priorities are. As far as loyalty to Sundance is concerned, those of us who have been reading his postings for 13 or 14 years have realized that he has proved himself. And then some.
After the loss of the House in the mid-terms during President Trump’s first term Sundance advised that we couldn’t imagine how horrific the result would be, what the Nancy Pelosi mob would do; he was right, though I didn’t at that moment believe it, I thought he was exaggerating. Little did I know that was a result which couldn’t be exaggerated.
Elon’s insinuation that President Trump was in any way associated with Epstein’s degradation is an immediate escalation in a matter that should have been discussed between them, this is a way to grab attention by appealing to those who already irrationally hate President Trump with the knowledge that the hardest thing to prove is a negative. This puts Musk squarely in the role of the leftist that he once was; if you can’t win an argument throw verbal incendiary insults, it’s not like our patriotic President isn’t already overburdened by having to defend himself and his reputation against false charges.

You know what’s funny about that? The founders of the country and the authors of the constitution KNEW THIS. They Stated it plainly! They created a government system which was an attempt to prevent that from mattering. And they knew we would arrive at a point where the government would ignore the constitution.

In my opinion, technology will always be with us, and proliferate over time. The changes in only my brief seven decades are astounding.
Technology is a tool. What remains is the moral and spiritual center, the soul if you will, of the humans using it. It can be used for good or evil. Humans, with the free will God gave them, make choices every day how to use the tools, and power, they possess.
Affecting the moral and spiritual center of a human ensnared by or attracted to the dark forces is a daunting task. Possible, but daunting. Why? They like it.
I learned a facet of that at a very early age with violence. Certain individuals liked the power and domination of controlling and subjugating and damaging another human. I could see it on their faces. They liked it. It gave them pleasure. Another tool, another choice. Some people live their whole lives that way.

In the “Big Beautiful Bill” only 5.4% of the recommended $200 billion in cuts recommended by DOGE were made and even that $200 billion would only reduce the projected federal budget deficit for 2025 from $1.9 to 2.2 TRILLION to $1.7 to 2 TRILLION.
Musk has made it clear that he’s disgusted by that and is tired of getting death threats for near zero results.
The cuts you want can’t come until the BBB is passed and they’ll be in the rescission bills.

The rescissions include $1.1 billion in cuts for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which distribute funding to NPR and PBS, and $8.3 billion in cuts to USAID. [USAID’s annual budget for fiscal year 2024 was approximately $21.7 billion – W]
The rescission process allows Congress to cancel previously allocated, yet unspent funds. Only discretionary funds can be rescinded, while mandatory spending such as Social Security and Medicare cannot be.

In the rescission bills. The BBB isn’t the place for them – it’s a reconciliation bill. This only needs 50 votes to pass and it’s the only chance to not have a huge liability for us brought about.

That part starts with the budget negotiations which I believe are to begin sometime in September though the different agencies and different House/Senate committees are just now beginning to put the numbers together.
Remember, there has not been a budget passed and enacted since 2008 so the members of Congress are a bit rusty when it comes to doing actual congressional work, i.e. creating a budget.
All these rules are AFAIK made up by CONgress and not for our benefit.

Retired Magistrate here: Yes, live your best life. After watching what my brother went through for 3 years with ALS I am happy that my husband and I can both walk, talk, eat and lead some semblance of a normal life. Do we have chronic health issues; yes, and we seem to be picking up more. However, we are very grateful that we still have each other, can function enough to do the basic needs of daily living and some days even more.
I admire President Trump so much. With everything he has on his plate he just keeps pushing on to Make America Great Again. As far as Elon Musk goes, he is brilliant but he has the emotions of a child. President Trump was attempting to mentor Musk and I think he truly had positive feelings toward him but now Musk has fractured that relationship.
Musk was on his best behavior for a while but he didn’t get what he wanted from President Trump and threw a temper tantrum; so life goes on. President Trump is not looking back.
So remember, live your best life because there is no guarantee that you will have another day on this earth.
