Self-interested Wall Street analysts and leftist economic ‘experts’ once again proven wrong. It is almost impossible to find any financial data review written objectively by media. Everything is skewed with a negative tone, yet the data clearly shows -just like 2017- President Trump’s MAGAnomic policy benefits are starting to surface.
News pundits said President Trump’s tariff policies would skyrocket prices. In reality the yearly inflation rate [BLS data] has dropped to 2.1%, the lowest in four years. Core prices (removing food and energy) rose 2.5% from a year earlier, below the March figure of 2.7%, and the lowest in more than four years.
Meanwhile personal incomes tripled expectations coming in at 0.8% for the month of April. “Personal income surged 0.8% well ahead of the forecast for 0.3%.” Then comes the predictable. The trade deficit dropped by 46% in the month of April.
[…] The goods trade gap contracted 46.0% to $87.6 billion last month, the Commerce Department’s Census Bureau said on Friday. Goods imports decreased $68.4 billion to $276.1 billion. Exports of goods increased $6.3 billion to $188.5 billion. (source)
Companies front-loaded their orders from China in February and March, causing imports to skyrocket and a massive skew in the GDP data. As expected in April there are fewer orders because the goods were already received in the first quarter, imports drop in half.
Despite increased tariffs we are likely to see a replay of pricing parity similar to 2017 as companies benefit from lowered energy prices, lower fuel costs, lower Transporation and lower warehousing costs. Simultaneously, export companies who rely on access to the U.S. market will attempt to offset any tariff price as applied. Those combined savings can, likely will, offset increased tariffs on arriving goods.
Consumers benefit from lower gasoline costs, lower overall electricity costs and increased demand for labor within a growing economy that puts natural upward pressure on wages.
SUMMARY of Friday: Personal income jumped 0.8% this month, tripling expectations. The US trade deficit has been cut almost in half, the largest single-month narrowing of the deficit on record. U.S. core inflation falls to the lowest level in 4 years. The Supreme Court gives President Trump the green light to reverse Biden’s immigration influx of Venezuelans/Cubans/Haitians/Nicaraguans. And Volkswagen announced they are making a “massive” investment in the U.S to avoid tariffs.
(NY POST) – Volkswagen is holding “fair” and “constructive” talks with the United States government on tariffs and wants to make further investments in the country, CEO Oliver Blume told German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
Several foreign companies have announced new US investments in response to President Donald Trump’s import tariffs, but German carmakers have been more cautious about committing more resources to what is their biggest export market.
Volkswagen’s Audi brand, which has no production in the United States, is planning to produce some models in there, although the brand has said that the plan pre-dates the Trump administration. (link)

Winning, so much winning. Are we tired of it yet? Not even close. 🇺🇸
Now we need to win in the Marxist/progressive controlled Federal Courts.
The courts are a real problem and it must be resolved; the courts are usurping Presidential powers, they must be stopped.
Why was the law written to allow such usurpation? That’s what confuses me.
It was not. What you are seeing in decrees from progressive district court judges has nothing to do with the law. The supreme court should make that clear before they head to the beach for the summer. If they don’t President Trump most certainly will right after they do.
Usurpation implies an unlawful takeover, encroachment, or infringement. Words have meanings.
Yes, they do; what would you call judicial(district courts/judges) encroachment on Presidential powers/authorities relative to immigration, tariffs, etal. And, decisions have already been made in PT’s favor.
The only law they follow is the law of “Oh yeah! Try and stop me!”
Democrat judges are tired of it because taking care of Americans is unconstitutional! 0’Bama said so, and he’s a Constitutional scholar—from Harvard!
I’m not tired of winning. I had zero doubts that a businessman in the truest sense of the word would deliver on his economic promises again. A man with real integrity and a spine made from US Steel.
Thank you President Trump for keeping your promises. Thank you Sundance, and your Merry Band of Researchers for continuing to bring us unbridled Truth.
❤️🙏👍
As energy is built out, regulations are slashed, tariff money rolls in, consumer confidence continues to rise, illegal alien deportations taking demand pressure off housing and likely fourth quarter fed rate cuts; Our economy will rock the world and deficits will turn to surpluses.
The biggest problem causing damage is the uniparty in congress, especially RINOs, not able to do their damn job by controlling spending.
And, don’t forget lower corporate tax rates, an additional incentive to migrate factories and jobs INTO the U.S.
And, no tax in tips, or overtime, or Social Security.
And yet revenue will INCREASE, so that we can pay down the debt, and even find more ways to get $ in the hands of working Americans.
No tax on SS is not in this package sitting over in the Senate…it’s a $4,000 credit, and you have to be 65 to receive it. Sorry, everyone collecting your SS if you’re 62, 63, or 64
Have not heard that fact. I thought all SS recvd would not be taxed. Currently, my SS is being taxed at 80% when I do my Federal tax filing. Jeanine – Would you pls respond with a link to that information, ?
I don’t think we are going to see “no taxes on SS’.
I think the Uniparty likes the narrative of “Republicans are going take away SS” every major election.
I can’t imagine that they want “not only are Republicans not taking away SS but they ae giving you a tax break”.
https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/news/2025/05/22/big-beautiful-bill-full-text-pdf-trump-tax-bill/83799142007/
The PDF of the bill is attached in his article
Seniors need “no tax on SS” because
1) Those on fixed income very greatly hurt by Bideninflation and will continue to suffer because it’s baked into the pie. Prices aren’t going back to pre Biden.
2) In general, it rubs the wrong way to say here’s your benefit, now let’s take some of it away.
Don’t tax SS for the monied and take away Medicaid for the poor among the seniors. That should work. In my case, Medicare is just under 20% of SS. Kill Medicaid and that’s significant.
Why? The state MedicAid program pays the Medicare mandated premium. I’m healthy, fck Medicare. I wouldn’t pay it. Never have believed in the ‘health care’ regime. Ask any self-employed person (I was for about four decades) about the tyranny of health care ‘insurance’.
No worries though. I’m on war footing. This is all planned for. God will sort it out. Eyes are slits and I’m looking at you, Communists. Oops, I just smiled. Let’s go.
Sorry, I correct myself, it’s not a credit, but a deduction.
If you have retirement income coming in and also Social Insecurity, real easy for the Money Changers to say, “See, you’re now in this tax category because you saved all that money in a 401k, and you’re taking it out now; what, weren’t we kind to you by letting you not pay tax back then? You insufferable, peon, simpletons don’t know how good we’ve treated you.”
The assholes in the District of Corruption have NEVER considered it your money!
We really don’t hate them enough!
That $4000 is also income limited so it won’t go to everyone. Hopefully the increase in growth, GDP and income gets the SS tax cut back in the agenda. They couldn’t do it now because of the method they are using to get the bill passed.
Sorry Dutch, but ya’ll seem to forget who actually controls the economy…
The Federal Reserve Bank.
The “debt” can never be repaid…
By design.
We have been there, done that, especially in President Trump’s first term.
As soon as the economy {consumer confidence} starts showing undeniable prosperity {irrational exuberance}, the Fed, according to their unlawful theoretical “dual mandate” {employment/inflation, pump/dump} will hike interest rates prohibitively to “cool” the overheated {uncontrolled} “markets”.
Personality does not factor in mathematics.
There is no substitute for experience…
POTUS damn sure should have learned this when he “fought the Fed”, and lost, in his first term.
All three branches of the Federal Government have been beholden to the mob/blob {Federal Reserve Bank} since 1913.
Cut the crap. {Not personally}
One has to believe things that one knows are not true {pretend} to think that there is any way for We The People to “secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity” and remain indentured servants to a corrupt, money laundering {RICO}, currency manipulating {inflation}, enemy aiding and abetting {Chyna} criminal enterprise known as the…
Federal Reserve Bank.
All wars {poverty, drugs, terrorism} are bankers wars.
The mob {Government} uses We The People as it’s own private labor force {internal revenue}.
We The People are the sovereign Constitutional authority of The United States Of America.
My sovereignty, as one of We The People, is not for sale.
I have already been bought with a price…
The shed blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin.
We The People do not work for the Government, the Government works for US.
The sole purpose for Government is to secure Our unalienable Rights, individually, not collectively.
.
Exhibit 1A
“Congress shall make NO law…”
Exhibit 2A
“the Right to Arms… Shall NOT be infringed.”
When the Government fears The People, there is Liberty.
When The People fear the Government, there is tyranny.
Government {POTUS} treats Our Public Monies {OPM} as if it is theirs to conduct business with.
Thou shalt not covet OPM.
That is why I steadfastly {strenuously} proclaim to FedGov…
GFY !!!
Go Fund Yourself
With tariffs
{external revenue}
Fascism requires funding.
The mob {Federal Reserve} assured iron fisted control of FedGov with the imposition of the 16th Amendment {income taxation} guaranteeing themselves a steady stream of cash flow, and the 17th Amendment {direct election of Senators}, guaranteeing iron fisted {fascist} control of the Legislative
branch.
These are simply self evident truths.
God has given US the solution…
And it is not to serve Government.
In God We Trust
{All others pay cash}
Trust God
Fear not
Read your post, one sentence at a time….
I’d like to add my war with the big banks, which my lawyer is still well engaged with, has allowed them, thank you, to buy a nice investment in Class 3 weapons. Economic warfare can be profitable, or at least convertible into hard assets for the coming war.
It might not be a war for those of the comfortable life class, but neither was the Revolution in 1776 and after. Plenty, in fact the vast majority, kept on living their comfortable lives, without lifting one hand to help or support the revolution that freed them from the British. Today it’s the Chinese Communists and the globalists. Different times, different enemies. Or, maybe the same ones, if one taps into the City of London narrative..
PDT had a great response to the Congressional obstructionists. Really no way they can counter the fact that the dims want to increase your taxes by 68% and PDT & the repugs want to reduce your taxes by 20+%. The no tax on OT, no tax on tips and reduced or no tax on SSI is a winning formula
I would say that RINOs are UNWILLING to do their jobs; it’s not that they’re UNABLE.
I attribute their motives to greed, pride, and obscene selfishness.
What they lack is both integrity and strength of will. Weak vessels, such as they are, need to be shown the consequences of their moral debasement — via the ballot box.
Let the culling begin.
.
if the fed does not lower rates by 25 basis points or more mid june, chit will fly
in light of the favorable inflation trend, he knows he no longer has any legitimate reasons for further delay
wondering what was discussed in the recent meeting between powell and Trump
can easily imagine Trump conveying a fairly stern message regarding powell’s future employment prospects if jerome drops the ball
We, the people can help. We can circumvent the media by doing a before/after study in
the areas where the deportations are occurring.
A few weeks ago I read that violent crime is down 60% in Denver. This is after deportation
of the gangbangers. A lot of crime can decline in a given area if the most violent are removed
first. It also gives the police a chance to go after the second in line types, the wanna bes.
Because they are much dumber in their actions.
So… The headlines say that ICE arrests a bunch around Massachusetts. Start doing a deep
dive on how much gun and drug related crime was in the area. How many shootings,
murders. This would be the 2024 figures. Then see how the figures look 3 months later.
A flow sheet of before/after crime stats (post deportations of the worst) should be done
around all metro areas. Start at 2024 crime stats, then do an update 90 days later.
The same type of before/after would be how many violent crime related arrests/trials
are in the courts of the same areas. Just like the California refugee processing centers,
some of the courts in the deportation jurisdictions might start to see a huge decrease in
activity. In the case of the courts, what’s on the docket.
Anyone good here at doing flowsheets? Anyone else good at accessing crime stats, updates?
Combine data, before and after . Make a story of it. Get some citizen journalists to go interview
some residents in the affected areas after 90s days.
Just like the media has to start the lie that Trump’s policies are hurting the economy, we
could show that deportations are improving the lifes of nearby residents. The people sitting
on the fence might be swayed towards turning their back on the media. They also might
be outraged on how the courts are ruining the possibility of people’s safety and livelyhoods,
their children’s education being improved.
Thank you, Sundance, the Treehouse and the comments section keep the insanity at bay.
Here’s what I learned from COVID. Very few “experts” know what the heck they’re talking about. Most, and by most I mean overwhelming most; parrot what they’ve been told and don’t use their brains to think. There’s little critical thinking. An expert is NOT someone who has memorized answers to a damn book! An Expert has experimented, experienced and developed a solution through different methods. Everyone else is a CLOWN. I trust Trump above all of these clowns.
This! ^^^^ Beautifully stated!
My junior year in high school…on day one, the chemistry teacher linked the word ‘expert’, to a math equation.
“X” an unknown.
Spurt is something that comes from being ‘under pressure’…
I connected with him on FB and reminded him of that saying he gave to us in 1974…and that it always stayed with me. He was surprised anyone remembered.
Good teacher!
Yeah…he was and is pretty cool!
My high school English teacher taught us “ersatz.”
I always heard “An ex is a has-been and a spurt is a big drip”. Pretty much the same sentiment, I think.
That is pretty cool, too!!!!
Wonderful gift you gave him Aggiegirl!
When he looks back on his life and wonders if he made a difference in this world, you will be a precious part of his legacy. 🙂
Thank you! He was one of the few govt teachers in the old Canal Zone…Balboa High School to be precise…that has kept in touch with students…Back then, our high school prepared a lot of students for the ‘academies’, so education was a strong focus. Many classmates went on to do fabulous things.
We recently lost a treasure named Al Sprague, a fabulous art teacher and also artist…he had a certain style displaying life in the Canal Zone and Panama…he painted some beautiful pictures. I have an original over my fireplace…
I knew that 50 years ago 🙂
When an expert is pumping up government they are actually corrupt marxists.
You mean experts like Nobel Prize winner Paul Krugman of the New York Slimes who has always been wrong about everything???!!!
Hey, he’s consistent!
“Here’s what I learned from COVID. Very few “experts” know what the heck they’re talking about. Most, and by most I mean overwhelming most; parrot what they’ve been told and don’t use their brains to think. There’s little critical thinking”
Truer words….
I believe that your use of the term “Experts” instead of the real description “Gov’tPwrClowns” is misleading.
I had Covid in Mar 20, for the month. In April I was reading about Real Experts around the world, treating their patients with readily available medications that were known to be safe, and I never got the shot.
Those were experts. If the speaker from the Gov is a career gov employee,,,,,don’t listen.
The so-called “experts” are all highly proficient at one particular skill.
They are very skilled at not making waves, not challenging the prejudices of their peers, and instead doing and saying whatever soothes the minds and egos of their peers.
“Experts” become acknowledged by their peers as experts and rack-up credentials, citations, titles and awards (granted by their peers) by fluffing up their peers, not by challenging their peers. They depend on peers to bless off on papers they publish and books they want to sell. They can surprise or amuse their peers. They cannot make their peers appear foolish. Not if they want to stay in their good graces.
That is how we got into the bizarre situation where they all think there is such a thing as “settled science.”
Trump and his policies and achievements will NEVER get a fair shake from the corrupt, socialist lame-stream media!
Mainstream media is nearly dead.
Not dead enough.
It’s nice to have a president with FU money that he earned.
” that he earned.” KEY Statement. Thanks.
My balance sheet on the kitchen table, says nope, not here, not in IL. Always an outlier….
I am happy for those who are experiencing a positive cash flow.
Tar and feather all members of the Putzker – er, Pritzker clan, and things might improve for you.
Not enough tar to cover their fat azzez.
Thanks Aggiegirl for saying this…I am very happy for those who are winning, but for me and my family with 1/2 our household still unemployed for 15 months now, we have never struggled so much in our lives. Pulling out of our retirement, again, selling a car and putting house up for sale. Eggs and some groceries are definitely cheaper, but until we see a massively improved job market, our family is anything but winning right now…
I’m sorry to hear this, Michelle. Hopeful things turnaround for you.
In which part of the country do you reside?
thanks Robjay…we live in Florida…used to be a 2 income family household…husband with 20yrs+ and Masters in Engineering software part of the world of offshoring/H1B’s… Just never ever thought we would be where we are…no longer looking at the American dream, we are simply trying to survive…doesn’t seem right at 60 to be here… thank you for nice words 🙂
A strong and truthful lesson, perhaps the most important life lesson ever, for those who are now comfortable…
“Don’t ever think it can’t happen to you.”
This is one I keep in the forefront of my mind ever single day as your experiences did happen to us.
I pray a brighter future for you and your family, Michelle, and soon.
Thank you Betsy..and yes, I think that every single day… and thank the lord for all the blessings we do have…although some days it is harder than others 😉
I understand completely.
We are living on self-invested retirement income…no pensions, lifelong health, perks, etc from working for corporates….for almost 30 years! Increase in expenses but no increase in income.
First thing…we got out of Florida with high real estate taxes, car, etc. saved big bucks just by moving to another state.
Second, eliminated all the expensive, unnecessary grocery items…sodas, chips, pastries, pre-made take outs, etc. only buy beef on sale, shop 2 for ones, learned to grocery shop much, much more intelligently, got much more creative with meals and we eat very well!
We make an effort to spend extra money on activities that benefit us….like a gym/ pool membership (obtained at a promotion price) that helps us stay physically fit as well as serves as a outside activity. Haven’t been to a movie in years or even purchased a book…plenty of that type of entertainment available without paying for it. Our little town has a lot of excellent free concerts in churches and parks and inexpensive lecture series, art exhibits, Life Long Learning classes at the nearby state University, and there’s always all kinds of sports from Little league, to high school and college games, to local tennis tournaments, pickleball and amateur golf tournaments that do not charge or very little and you meet the nicest people at these events. So, while we are no longer in the financial position to take cruises, travel overseas, or really take any type of expensive vacations, our lives are full and enriched…primarily because we’ve adjusted our lifestyles to make it happen.
I wanted to add that quite a few years ago, mainly for the fun of it, I started making most of my own household cleaning formulas as well as spices for cooking (think taco mix, for example or salad dressings). You cannot begin to imagine how much you save by doing this…especially laundry detergents. I do a load of laundry for pennies. I use 1/2 cup each of Borax washing soda and Dawn with 4 cups of hot water to dissolve in an old Tide container, fill the remainder with cold water and just use a capful. Do the math! I haven’t purchased Tide in years, but isn’t it almost $20 for that size container? It’s so very easy! It’s all available on the Internet and I keep a file of my formulas …most ingredients are ones you have in your pantry…like for furniture polish or glass cleaner.
Point is…spend your resources intelligently.
For my dogs deworming…I use food grade diametaceous earth once a month…cheaper than pharma chemicals. And safer.
At the gas station, I always grab a few paper towels to keep in the car.
Every now and then, Sundance and Ad Rem post links for money saving tips such as the one you posted.
I may try that…I certainly, at my old age, don’t get my clothes filthy dirty anymore so intense detergent is not needed.
Before my dad retired from the Panama Canal Co, they were able to shop at the military commissary…my mom stocked up…when she ran out of clothing soap, she just used her Joy Dish detergent, when that ran out, she used hair shampoo, no kidding…she was mad a the government and tried to not spend anything since the treaty had just gone into effect. And she refused to help Panama’s economy as everything cost double. She was ‘prepping’ as they only had a year til dad’s retirement…I still remember her washing sandwich bags to reuse them, LOL…and she had been a child of the depression…so she knew…
Borax is also good for sprinkling on one’s carpet and vacuuming it up…kills the fleas
There is a recipe on line for weed killer…Dawn, Water and 30% Vinegar, the vinegar is pricey now as people have discovered it won’t hurt your pets…
I keep borax to desiccate scraped hides of certain critters. 🙂
Have a web site?
No, there are plenty of those. And, truthfully I hesitate to even post what I did primarily because this is not exactly the type of forum to do that. But, hope it planted seeds for some.
Lovely post!
Growing up with little money, we have perfected the “ thrift gene”
Although we can now spend frivolously, we struggle to do so.
As regards travel..you mentioned cruising.
It can still be done, if one is able to compromise a little.
Alaska bound cruise ships pass by a our cottage on the east coast of Vancouver Island B.C. each evening.
One of the cruise lines was offering an extremely good value on a 7 day Vancouver return to Vancouver cruise for approximately $1150.00 (Can) not sure but off the top of my head, that would be around $800.00 U.S.
We know the cruise line, the food and entertainment is above
average.
Cheers!
You hit the nail on the head here…we actually just spent Memorial day weekend looking at houses in TN…the cost of living in Florida is completely out of control…we have also done the math…this is an unliveable state..not sure when it happened, but happen it did…we will also save huge bucks moving to another state. we have been budgeting now for the past few years and spend very little…fortunately I work in a decent job (no benefits) so no gas needed daily, so we are very lucky there…I guess for years we were living “too large” you know, with health insurance, an occasional vacation and sending our son to an unnecessary college for a degree which will most likely not afford him a job….I am trying to not be bitter but in our family, the American Dream is now on life support and we are working in survival mode…never in a million years of working since I was 15 think I would be standing in a supermarket factoring if I should buy that onion or not for dinner or if that was a splurge…I never thought my country would become this…
Anyone looking to relocate..make a list what will be importantl to you (other than saving $$$) in the next several years. For us, it was having a good library and a college close and the nearest town vibrant, not with half of the shopped closed. We also chose to live in an established community, not isolated in a rural setting (although cheaper) to make new friends more easily and get involved in the community. We knew absolutely no one where we moved, so joining a garden club, a book club, etc. was a built-in social vehicle to meet people and make settling in easier. Having a hospital and an airport close are also factors, the airport especially if you have family that will be coming and going. Driving 2 hours to meet and take visitors gets old real quick! And , lastly, strongly suggest visiting the area at different times of the year, especially in the winter months. Especially coming from sunny Florida it’s important to see the much different climate you will be dealing with in January and February. Almost every place looks great at the end of May!
TN does not tax you to death. No income tax. No minutiae taxes for BS things no one understands. No taxing of personal or business personal property. Good regional banking system.
Outside the urban trash woke areas of Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, the state is incredibly friendly and people do not butt into your business. Highways and byways are well maintained and safe to travel. People here are also very helpful in times of need. The tourist areas are artificially high cost of living and traffic is ridiculous, but fun to visit if you are patient, lol. I highly recommend retiring here as I think you would find a lot to like about it.
Just my $ .02 worth.
Chattanooga! gorgeous area and lovely people…staying far far away from Nashville….we were there for 4 days and I couldn’t believe the loveliness of the people, and the absolute value of the meals we had! And the majesty of the area ….now, to see/find a new home 🙂
Areas of Georgia, SC/ NC , WV….all have good points.
you have to determine what it’s important….the climate, the amenities, the job opportunities, and even the political environment. We happened to land in a very politically conservative area and had people move here who were from the uber-liberal areas of northern Virginia, California, etc and within a few years left for like-minded areas. Their liberal outlook was totally overwhelmed here. Especially in year ‘round communities, although you wouldn’t think so (especially coming from a very seasonal Florida environment), local politics do play an important factor.
I am sorry for that…I struggle to keep a place in St. Lucie…food in Publix is more than in IL, salaries in health care are significantly lower (hence being tethered still in IL). FPL is a huge joke…and their website never works. Gas is cheaper. I am trying to clean out and decide where to retire to…if that idea is affordable.
Am praying that something turns to good for you and yours.
Thanks Aggie…you good people 🙂
Aggiegirl: Being near family is very important.
Same thing happened at our house when Obama shut down the oilfield & my husband was out of work for 3 years. We went through our savings and company sponsored savings.
It seemed like the end of the world, but be patient in your anxiety – and stick together – you’ll find out you don’t need what you thought you needed and even your wants will change. Keep your faith in God and He will get you through it in ways you’ll laugh in joy about! Trust Him!
Praying for you 🙂
thank you Teresee as…yes the prayers are long and hard…My mom always said, when you ask the good Lord for more faith and trust He won’t have you win the lottery…true faith is tested and tried…
Hang in there!
Does your kitchen table “balance sheet” show rises in costs or not?
Meat budget for sure. The prices are so ridiculous
And I live in beef country
We stopped buying any beef except ground years ago, and that infrequently.
Wages, food, gas, electricity are the same as 3 years ago.
I know more than one person who has been laid off, so yeah, not universal.
If they were truthful about the unemployment numbers (taking into account the underemployed and people who have left the job market completely) it would be close to 40% from what I can see…and I see. All day long. I look at resumes for a living.
When I look at the predictions for jobs that can be supplanted from 10% to 100% with AI, underemployment will soon be the norm. Legal work, engineering, computer science, administration—any and everything to do with data input seems doomed. The most common white-collar careers for decades look eminently and imminently replaceable.
While I’ve no doubt that humans are well set to adapt and to overcome all challenges, there will always be upheaval. A competent administration is a blessing during difficult times.
At the height of Obama, a banker had told me that pockets of Chicago had unemployment in the 17% range and not the low numbers they were ranting on…somewhere around 2010.
It’s not quite that bad, but it is far worse than what is being reported: 24.3%
Here’s the link to LISEP, who calculates based on including discouraged workers etc:

Not seeing it in Oklahoma, yet, either. Fuel has been $3.19/gal since the election (both 100% gas, and diesel).
Not saying the above info is wrong, but not sure who is benefitting
3.79 in Oak Park, IL …we are due for a tax increase on gas, Tomorrow in fact.
Just paid $2.57 for regular. It is definitely down here

Carney getting schooled in the replies…
Carney can go pound sand and Canada can become our next 51st state. As long as we’re going to financially “carry” them, we might has well have owners rights.
Sorry to my Canadian friends – nothing against y’all personally.
But your leadership left you when they sold out all of your industries to the ChiComs. Bring back manufacturing, and industry to Canada. Pressure your leaders – you too can Make Canada Great Again.
Nope. This is dumb. Then libs would rule the roost of the USA permanently. Canaduh can p.p.p.piss off (except maybe Alberta)
No need to apologize…”no gain without pain” is what we Canadians need.
Cheers!
Canada can pound sand.

Notice the date on that, and who voted for it. That would be PM Stephen Harper, the ‘conservative hero’. It was challenged by the NDP, of all parties (on this they were correct).

Rather traitorous of our ‘best friend and staunchest ally’, no? Can’t say it has worked out very well for the average Canadian either, so perhaps treasonous would also describe. And it wasn’t JUST the Liberal Party of Canada that was doing this; as these links show, the Conservatives of Canada were perfectly willing to do it.
Canada’s problems are caused by Canada.
[CNBC] “Inflation barely budged in April as tariffs President Donald Trump implemented in the early part of the month had yet to show up in consumer prices, the Commerce Department reported Friday.”
Keeping pushing the Narrative dinosaur media, it’s just accelerating the asteroid.
Sadly Washington state ChiComm Dem governor just signed a Dem commie bill that increases the gas tax by 6% starting today and also a property tax increase by 1-3%!!
The more money that the taxpayers save on the Federal level allows commie states like WA confiscate those savings to pay for their grift, graft, and illegals.
And then they turn around and blame their political opposition for the high cost of living.

Yes, and meanwhile in Oregon the ChiComs are working diligently to erode our 2A rights to protect ourselves and any resources we might have slaved to accumulate. I’m surprised they haven’t introduced a sales tax yet. Talk about a ripe fruit to pick.
I’ve long posited, for a couple decades now, that these robust economic times do provide a modicum of comfort but they also, as in your example, plump the war chest of the Communists, and not just in WA and OR, but everywhere in the Republic. Our hard work, time away from loved ones and for some of us, dangerous jobs help fund the enemy who seeks to, and often does, oppress us and take away our freedoms.
As long as our labor and everything we do to create a robust economy benefits the Chicoms, their resources grow more abundant and their ideology never wavers. How do we turn the tables on them? That pickle is why I posit it will take generations to peacefully defeat them.
Generations of hard work and diligent, consistent effort to change hearts and minds. Else, with comfortable lives, the average prol forgets about the increasingly small box of freedom they live in. That was discussed here yesterday in the Palantir thread.
I’m confused. I always said “Washington sucks but Oregon REALLY sucks” but now I don’t even think you could swap that statement. Both of them REALLY SUCK.
Where should we move in a couple years to retire? Idaho panhandle? Wyoming, Utah, Arizona mountains? South Dakota?
I would love to go to the middle Pacific coast part of Greater Idaho or Jefferson / New California but it doesn’t exist yet.
You might look into Tombstone AZ and nearby Sierra Vista. High desert of southern AZ, 4800 ft, so nice, cool nights, and days 15° cooler than Phoenix. Little to no snow, lots of stars, wide open mountain vistas, amazing monsoon seasons. Not even one single stop light.
Tombstone is an ex-silver-mine boom-town, turned into very small cowboy-themed tourist destination, with lots of gun-toting conservatives and happy visitors. (Pop. 1,500 in town proper, 4,000 in the surrounding areas.) A wonderful place to live, especially if you’re a fan of the old west and freedom.
Best of all, the main drag is several blocks of old shops in original 1880s buildings, fronted by wooden boardwalks. It’s like stepping back in time. That road is closed off to automobiles, allowing only pedestrians, horses, and stagecoaches.
We visited Tombstone two years ago, and couldn’t get it out of our heads. Finally left the Phoenix madhouse for good last month after 30 years there (watching it turn into LA in the desert). It is calm, quiet, uncrowded and cooler way down here and we couldn’t be happier. In fact, the entire extended family moved down with us.
Sierra Vista is a mid-sized suburban town that serves nearby Fort Huachuca. (Pop. 50,000.) It’s just 20 minutes from Tombstone via a scenic drive through desert hills and the San Pedro River valley. S.V. has everything you need as far as “civilization” and retail needs go. Tucson is an hour north for city-sized wants or needs. Phoenix is three-hours north.
So, think about Tombstone—the last place you’ll ever go. 😉
I live behind Communist lines in a deep red part of Oregon. Big trees and ocean breezes.
When people say or write Oregon sucks, I smile and nod. They’re right. I learned that from my good friends in Russia and Ukraine when they talked about the U.S. sucking, well, that wasn’t the word they used. Then they explained the comment was directed only at the government, not the citizens. They didn’t believe the propaganda and their actions showed it.
Where I live now is a lot like California was in the 50’s and 60’s except a lot cooler and far less dusty. Even a poor senior can live somewhat comfortably. Sixty years in the hellhole that state became was enough.
Still, there are good people there, like you mentioned in the SOJ. Pull off I-5 sometime near the sign and talk to the rural folks around Yreka or head east out of Redding towards Alturas. It’s a different world.
I think one should move to where one feels at home, regardless of other humans. It took me a couple years and lot of shoe leather to find the right place to die. I’m good now.
Idaho will benefit. I know someone who filled 7 five gallon containers at Stateline last week… guess he knew what Olympia had planned.
Had reason to go to Salem 13 (?) years ago. Beautiful drive down from Portland. The town was inhabited by weirdos then.
logboom: Same in California, where gubmint-imposed taxes, fees, etc. swallow a significant chunk of every dollar earned.

If this is regarding Volkswagen, that EU guy just got Jetta soned.
“Unexpectedly”
“Expectations”
My expectations have been met, and I expected nothing less.
Hopefully some of the US Honda and Toyota engineers can sneak some quality control into the VW and Audi plants….
And Range Rover, Stellantis, Hyundai, and Kia plants, too.
Yota isn’t what they were. They’re grenading turbo engines due to machining “stuff” not cleaned out. Honda may be all that’s left worth anything.
If politics is a battle between who can maintain the best energy state, team Trump II is laser focused on maintaining and growing that energy, whilst Trump I had a tendency to bleed it unnecessarily, or fly in a sabotaged machine. I’d expect some of this energy investment to be used soon in manoeuvring to position for an attack which, though less spectacular than the immediate dogfight demanded by some observers, is far more effective in removing threats.
The courts/DS are trying to slow down progress.
“The business of America is business”. Herbert Hoover and “Dean”Martin
Good Lord. I made the mistake of clicking on a Jeffry Sachs YouTube video last week. I have since suffered algorithmized bombardment, by multiple Trump hating economist rant videos. A lot of them are AI, as the narrating voice mispronounces many words, a tell-tale sign of AI. These coastal elite academic TDS’rs are insufferable!
We are witnessing a full out, bomb-run assault theme on “Trumps Failing Tariffs”, with the left deploying all of their accredited, ec (commie) nomic professors flooding the zone (YouTube, MSM, you name it) with absolute hysteria tactics.
–China is winning Tariff War!
-E.U. has trapped Trump!
-U.S dollar reserve currency days are quickly coming to an end!
-Trump underestimates U.S. global trading superiority, collapse will follow!
I get a kick out of watching them, but they all boil down to the same common denominator – We Hate Trump!
Of course its all bullshit but there are many people around the country that believe these propagandists.
Stay the course.
The improvement comes from eliminating the Global Warmist’s Green New Deal. What was Biden thinking? Not much.
Just think how much better this could be if President Trump didn’t have with all of the subversives in the elected and non elected government.
President Trump is priming the pump with trillions more of deficit spending while Secretary Bessent is holding the rates down selling short-term debt rather than long-dated treasuries, a tactic he borrowed from Janet Yellen. So the economy should be sailing for the next two years for sure.
The 2026 midterms are the key either way to which direction the country truly will go. Unfortunately, very little has been done to clean up those fraudulent voter rolls and the corrupt officials running the elections.
Friends who shop at Walmart have said food prices have gone up, and I am guessing Walmarts loss in sales for China made home goods is the reason? Stores that are just food stores Kroger etc seem to be marking their prices down, and having more sales. Anyone else noticing this?
I shop either at our well stocked and modernized neighbourhood Walmart or for limited purchases at Sprouts, both very near to us thankfully. Saves on gas.
Yes, they have….both places.
Prices are up at my local Walmart. The only place I have to shop without driving 30 miles…
They’ve installed “digital” prices on every product where I shop, Diceanna, allowing them to change at will and quickly. So that between the time you might pick up a product at a certain price, by the time you check out it you might pay more.
I shop at both places and seems its either the same or up.
According to recent reports, Callahan Brakes pulled out of Walmart because Walmart took advantage of the negative tariff narrative and increased brake prices–blamed it on tariffs. Callahan Brakes claimed they did NOT raise their brake prices. I’m not on facebook but will try to post the link here:
https://www.facebook.com/reel/681006541305824
Good for them! I keep telling people to quit shopping at Walmart. They have a monopoly on shutting down smaller traditional stores.
Exactly. We almost never go into a Walmart. That’s saying a lot because it is one of only a handful of stores available to us unless we drive an hour or more.
I don’t like telling people what to do but I do mention what I’ve done, and with WalMart it was over when I got divorced 15+ years ago. I only went there because of my wife. The closest one now is nearly a two hour round trip and I can’t imagine ever darkening their door.
As far as prices, I’ve been tracking a basket of food and consumer goods on Amazon and have seen practically no upward movement since PDJT became POTUS again. If anything there are more sales and coupons and ‘limited time deals’.
In some cases, in the automotive and electronic parts and test gear I follow, prices on same items have come down from even ten years ago. I’m talking about stuff shops and labs use, not consumer items, forex the digital microscope and soldering equipment I use to repair circuit boards.
The nail in the WalMart coffin for me was when they brought in outside labor to build the store in the small farm town I lived near, then used their economies of scale to destroy the local businesses not only in that town but a number of farmworker towns around it. Bringing in outside contractors was it for me. They’re dead to me now. I won’t mourn the death of any of their kind.
I shop at Kroger and Publix, and I have noticed Publix dropping their prices minutely. Eggs are finally coming down at Kroger, but still too overpriced. My daughter and future SIL shop at Costco, where the prices are cheaper, but they’re a Commie-run company, and I don’t ever intend to step foot in the place. I’m in Middle TN. I do notice gas prices dropping
I also shop at Kroger and only shop at Walmart for things Kroger does not stock. Politically I’m not aligned with Kroger but at least most of their stuff isn’t Chinese made.
Yes! Our biweekly shop at Walmart (our only grocery store) has gone from an astronomical $250 or so 3 yrs ago to now, as of our last shop, $377. We are two people, we rarely buy meat other than chicken thighs and ground beef. I grow my own veggies which I can and freeze. But meat prices (even chicken!) and some other commodities have gone through the roof. Steak is now a special treat for birthdays and our anniversary at $40 or more for 2 ribeyes!!!
I sincerely hope they get on top of meat prices soon… and I am shocked that they think we have enough to also export!
The main grocery store by me is selling brands I have never heard of, at sale prices, regular brands, stilll the same.
I voted for this. MAGA is a verb, not a media catchphrase. Thank you Mr. President!
With inflation at an annualized rate of 2.1% and personal income growth showing an annualized rate of 7.8% so far this year that translates into a family of four with an annual income of $100,000 would increase their disposable income by $5,700 after Trump’s first year in office.
That isn’t chump change!
Im not feeling it…. Yet. I did in 2017-2018, and it’s still early.
That’s great for the middle class and everything, but how are people with 100 million going to become billionaires and be able to afford private jets? Do Americans think about them? Democrat globalists do! There’s not even a name for 100 millionaires, just two effing commas!
I fixed it.
I changed my email!
Hope this works!
It worked! 😀
So sorry.
I just kept posting until I finally figured it out!
It is known as getting kicked in the rear for not updating my email!
My hair has silver threaded through the blonde. However, I still have blonde moments!

We all have the “moments”; “now, what did I come in this room for?” 🤣
Just watched my husband mowing the lawn, but not mowing the lawn because the blade wasn’t engaged. From a distance I see him stop the mower, shake his head, engages the blade. 🤣🤣🤣
I love watching the gas prices go down in the rest of the country while Washington just jumped up to around $5.00 per gal. Thanks to our new Governor Ferguson signing in our states largest tax bill for 9 billion.
https://komonews.com/news/local/governor-bob-ferguson-9-billion-new-taxes-washington-state-funding-washington-resdients-raise-taxes-overinflated-revenue-house-senate-republicans-drew-macewen-mason-countyr
Ferguson is worse than Inslee and Mayor Bruce Harrellis also is a looser
https://x.com/choeshow/status/1927873279219618257?s=42
Everyone across the political spectrum is coming after Bruce Harrell, deservedly so, because he has accomplish NOTHING of significance his entire term! All he does is give vague speeches introducing “new and improved” initiatives that simply funnel more money to his friends and supporters whilst making no appreciable difference to the problem they are supposed to address.
But unfortunately, there is not a single candidate in the race to replace him who is not even further to the left than he is! His statement blaming the Christian group for the fact that Antifa and Rainbow activists attacked them without provocation was made quite deliberately, IMHO, in order to shore up his support among those very groups as he is concerned that he will get knocked out in the primary if he doesn’t pander to the Far Left fringe that runs the city!
He DID say it would start to turn very quickly, but frankly I did not think we would see these #’s begin to reverse, this quickly.
The U.S. Economy is like a yuge ocean liner, and you don’t normally expect it to turn on a dime like it is.
No, its not yet great for everbody, our “Golden Age” but its definetely coming.
4 months – and things are starting to get better. Imagine if the President’s policies have 3-4 years to yield results???
What a difference it will make!
But other than alternate media and word-of-mouth, people may not realize why.
DJT is the reason why.
Whoa there…turning is a challenge…we need new tug boats to push and shove…
The SS United States still holds the speed record and Blue Riband for her Atlantic crossings both ways…Speed is not the issue…LOL
With personal income up big.. and spending ok… the savings rate is returning to healthy level. When this happens people start to get a little bit better control of their debt levels and credit card payments, which is already showing up in the numbers.
If the FED pulls out of its tariff tantrum fit… they will cut rates 1-2 time this year… this cause another noticeable drop in interest costs that will drive consumer spending and corporate cost of capital lower (a lot of companies have bank lines that are floating rate).
The market will rip if this happens and cost of carrying the gubment debt will save us billions as well …
The sec of treasury is one top this…. he is doing a great job.
Damn. The judiciary just got busy!
Judge Boasberg just ruled that the wage numbers be returned to previous levels and enjoined employers nationwide from increasing wages for the next four years
Judge Chutkan, not to be outdone, ruled that trade deficit calculations and reporting must be halted citing the “General Welfare” clause of the constitution.
Once again, our President and his policies are delivering good results for Americans.
And the msm and financial msm cannot stand it – they either ignore, obfuscate or deflect away from the obviously improving economy.
As CTH has noted, time and time again, DJT’s understanding of business and finance far exceeds that of any other recent National leader. And his energies go to improving the lot and lives of ordinary citizens,
NOT to enrich himself.
Also noted: the report about VW expanding their footprint in the US has been underway for the past couple of years. Outside my front door is the massive Scout Motors plant, being built here in SC with VW backing.
With Germany 🇩🇪 and the EU doing all they can to kill the European auto industry… it only makes sense to move production here.
Glad to see that the Administration’s policies are making the US 🇺🇸 the ‘place to go’ to build world-class products.
VW needs to bring back the turbo diesels. With green scam floundering, this efficient IC engine can make a comeback.
I have a 2012 VW Passat TDI – on the highway I get 48 mph.
Other than regular maintenance, and an exploding water pump – no problems.
The ‘engine check’ light is always on, but no problems. (The VW dealership saw that – then spent hours trying to ‘fix’ it – then gave it back to me with no charge lol 😆).
A friend finally retired his 2003 Jetta diesel after 21 years.
Oops! Not 48 mph – 48 mpg lol
It can go a lot faster than 48 mph – though I abide by all relevant traffic regulations 😃
Charles: My Jetta TDI got amazing mileage and had lots of torque.
Some would say it is impossible to predict that even w this news the stock market will bottom on June 24-25 2025, the hita macro peak in Feb 2028… all based on S&P 500 pricing data… wait for it… and see if markets hit another macro low on ~ June 24/25… the Fed controls everything… it controls the movement of the S&P 500 daily pricing… not anyone or any other body… not the president, not the Congress… it’s he or she who’ll manipulates the S&P 500 that controls when it crashes and when it goes up… in November 2024 I wrote on CTH markets would collapse… in my opinion thus last crash was all Fed created… watch for a market bottom on June 24-25 becuase the Fed will make it happen.
Success is no mistake.
Pump the brakes on the self-love, fellas. Reviving manufacturing would require (a) trillions in capital investments over 10–15 years (can’t happen overnight even if POTUS shakes down the entire world), (b) reskilling a labor force (median age of current manufacturing workers is ~44+)
Tariffs can protect existing industry or buy time, but do not build new capacity!
Without matching tax breaks, infrastructure, labor policy, they do not reverse the trend.
The offshoring has been going on for too long to reverse it overnight.
Will the future presidents who will succeed our Donald Trump continue his policies?
The U.S. is structurally a consumer-led economy, not a net exporter like say, Germany. Tariff policy can therefore not change that fundamental alignment without deep structural reform. Again, a decades-long process!
And, most importantly, tariffs alone do not generate meaningful debt relief. This is simple math:
Tariffs prior to Trump 2.0 covered about 5% or less of the deficit, and less than 2% of total federal spending (~$6.1 trillion in 2023). Even if tariffs tripled or quadrupled, which is not happening, the impact on the federal debt would be negligible without substantial spending cuts and tax reforms.
Again, the stand-alone tariffs are essentially a half-measure.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not see any willingness in D.C. to even discuss meaningful budget cuts; and nobody is even talking about any serious tax incentives for the manufacturers.
Remember, President Reagan has radically reduced taxes. We are struggling to prevent the past tax cuts from expiring… See the difference?
So, I guess what I am saying is let’s not unzip just yet, guys. Still work to do.
It made me feel better when you said even you have to guess what your saying. I still can’t figure it out.
The ideology is impervious to math. I get it. But after having voted for Trump three times, I will not applaud every unsound political decision he makes.
That is the difference between us and the Democrats—they march in lockstep, like Marxist brownshirts. We don’t.
Material and meaningful budget cuts are politically impossible as they would result in a steep recession. This is baked in the cake when the entire economy is a pyramid of debt. Cut debt and the economy contracts… followed by bankruptcies and unemployment. Now, this economy does desperately need a recession to clear out all the malinvestment, but no politician is going to commit political suicide by going down that path.
“Reviving manufacturing would require…trillions, years, generations.”
To complete the revival process, maybe. But to begin the revival, that is already underway.
Beginning is the hardest part. That required stopping the decline, changing direction and starting upward momentum.
After that we must keep the momentum going without backsliding. May the climb back to Greatness be a long and happy journey.
“It is almost impossible to find any financial data review written objectively by media. ”
So true. With the Obama/Biden regime it was IMPOSSIBLE to find any economic data that was accurate. They turned us into China with fake economic numbers and the same kind of corruption found in China. President Trump thank you for beginning to turn the tide.
But…..it is now time to reduce the size of the Federal Government by a MASSIVE amount. It is time for another 5 accomplishments response from the Millions of people in our federal government. It is time to get rid of all the rot in the FBI which most likely will be all of it.
Retired Magistrate here: Just got back from some really great estate sales; last day so 50% off of items. Gas prices are down here in Central Ohio along with food prices.
This is what I had hoped President Trump would accomplish after his first year; silly me, I forgot that with President Trump it is Trump speed!
That video clip has me on the floor. I wish I knew who those poseurs were.
As if on cue, there are massive fires threatening oil fields in Canada, our biggest foreign oil importer.
Inflation at 2.1%
Yeah, sure, if they say so.
Tell that to my insurance company.
My homeowner’s insurance just went up 19% since last year.
My truck insurance went up nearly 10%.
Tell that to the county tax assessor’s office.
Tell that to my pest control company.
Tell that to my electric company, water company, etc.
Oh, and have you shipped anything recently?
Yes…an overnight letter was almost $100 from a Chicago suburb to Florida.
Old Bama: Same here, in California. “Health” insurance up nearly 17% versus 2024 and our umbrella insurance just doubled. Yes, doubled.
We have only begun to win. Thank G-d for Trump!
Gasoline prices are not really down much here.
They were about 3.29/gal for 87 and have been for months now 2.99-3.09.
About a 25 cent +/-drop sometime soon after Trump took over, but that’s it.
Just enough to notice, but nowhere near enough to go WOW! – that really helps !!!
They need to drop to 2.29 and under, to make a real, helpful difference. For both us, and Trump.
I didn’t believe these numbers during Biden and I didn’t believe them now.
The system is about to break. Trump and the people will rebuild but there is no escaping the crash. I do believe the crash is targeted toward wall Street, but we will all feel the pain first.
We’ve been feeling it for the last 4 years. All I see is everyone still struggling every bit as much as they did 6 months ago. The system needs to break
No one is saying anything but it sure is quiet around here. Where I live I’m surrounded by corporate and wealthy owned vacation homes and compounds and, lately, the only people I see and hear are the landscapers keeping things pretty.
If people do show up, they’re gone within a day or two; no long stays like in the past. The roads are quiet. Not a logging truck can be heard. This is a very different local economic climate from 45. I remember, even back in ’23 when doing a lot of hauling the nearby town was rolled up before dark even in summer, though summer dark pushes 10pm sometimes. Only thing open was one gas station, lucky for me.
Perhaps that will change. My plan does not include the economy. I’ve geared up to live outside of it. The quiet doesn’t bother me, nor do the sounds of freedom. God will provide.
I’m tired of the so-called “influencers” that have wedded and embedded themselves as “Maga” spewing doom and gloom and negative comments and faux analysis. We know the left is bad but these other folks as formally describes are insidious.
He did all this with no support from Congress, no support from the Republican Party and total and complete resistance from Judges..
Holy Cats!! MAGA Fabulous!!
👊👊🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
Tariffs and the so-called “American System” are a band-aid on a global financial system (GFS) that is suffering from more than a minor skin laceration. It is fundamentally a GFS that is unsustainable in the long term but sustains due to the power of the parties who benefit from its perverse advantages, not the least of which are governments themselves, and not to mention the core commercial banks.
I appreciate 47’s efforts in this regard as there seems to be no impetus to change the fundamental GFS. In that case, at least try to mitigate some of the more dire consequences of the GFS in favor of one’s citizens. Godspeed Donald, but really you would be better crashing the entire system and forcing a rebuild from scratch. That would take some serious courage and even then would be no guarantee that the elites presently benefitting from the system wouldn’t re-program another to their own advantage… which of course, is precisely what The Great Reset and CBDCs infer.
There can be no such thing as democracy without “economic democracy”. The power of the monetary system should be free and in the hands of the people… and every dollar you spend should truly be a vote. Presently the economic ballot box can be stuffed (or blocked) whenever they wish, leaving the commonfolk with no economic power whatsoever, and thus no true political power.
Let’s keep in mind too, that disinflation of the speed and magnitude we have just witnessed typically implies recession. With Real GDP clocking in at -0.2% for Q1 and, much more importantly, Real Final Sales posting a dismal -2.9%, recessionary outlooks are not unwarranted.
The economy desperately needs a good, sharp recession. Hopefully, it gets the medicine it needs.
And predictably, not a word about this in the virulent anti-Trump WSJ. They do, however, have the usual plethora of anti-Trump fear mongering nonsense.
