Today in the Memphis area where Musk has his prototype AI data center, people experienced numerous power fluctuations. Even though the weather is mild, some businesses had to switch to their standby generator to prevent damage to electronics.
The reason is likely that the data center has started to integrate into the power grid. Previously, the data center has used mainly its own energy generation with turbines.
One local newspaper reported that the AI center’s electricity requirement is equal to 40 percent of the electricity now needed to power Memphis.
Memphis is the canary in the … data mine. Tech overlords will likely not care about the peasants’ needs for electricity.
Also, Musk said that H1-B visas are good, and he came over on an H1-B visa. This is not true. He came to the US on a student visa. So, I am on notice that he is willing to lie if he thinks the lie will help his argument.
None of which moved the needle on ballots. Silicon Valley brought money and a shopping list of databases needing their AI.

Someday, historians will write about Elon Musk and the meltdown by people upset that he found, and helped eliminate, billions and billions of wasteful spending, only to have Congress ignore it.

President Trump really likes Elon and little X. I don’t think I have ever seen anyone outside of family spend as much time with Trump as Elon. You could tell they both really admired each other.

Russ Vought (OMB Director) says the Administration is submitting a series of Recission packages to Congress to codify the DOGE cuts. Apparently simple majority / not subject to the filibuster in the Senate.

It’s interesting to see how talk of recissions packages started a day after Musk said he was disappointed.
I don’t blame him. All that work, his businesses and customers attacked, no real action taken against the perps, then Congress essentially punts.
I don’t buy the excuse that they cannot be working on a recission at the same time they are doing other things.
I was quite discouraged about all of this until Musk said they are just about complete at putting the last remaining systems/reforms in place at federal agencies to stop some of the looting that has been going on.
I don’t know how that squares with the work at the Pentagon not being completed yet, or the recent ruling that they can now access Treasury systems.

That has already been implemented. All disbursements must have tracking codes, including codes that identify the payee and what congressional appropriation authorized the payment.

DOGE applied technology that most of government doesn’t understand . but the processes are well known: Six Sigma, value stream mapping, GAAP, etc.
Let this be a lesson that everyone is not going to agree with your personal take 100%, but that doesn’t make them an agent of the marxist left or a member of the deep state.
