Networks Act or the TAKE IT DOWN Act
“This bill generally prohibits the nonconsensual online publication of intimate visual depictions of individuals, both authentic and computer-generated, and requires certain online platforms to promptly remove such depictions upon receiving notice of their existence.
Specifically, the bill prohibits the online publication of intimate visual depictions of
an adult subject where publication is intended to cause or does cause harm to the subject, and where the depiction was published without the subject’s consent or, in the case of an authentic depiction, was created or obtained under circumstances where the adult had a reasonable expectation of privacy; or
a minor subject where publication is intended to abuse or harass the minor or to arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person.
Violators are subject to mandatory restitution and criminal penalties, including prison, a fine, or both.
Threats to publish intimate visual depictions of a subject are similarly prohibited under the bill and subject to criminal penalties.
Separately, covered platforms must establish a process through which subjects of intimate visual depictions may notify the platform of the existence of, and request removal of, an intimate visual depiction including the subject that was published without the subject’s consent.
Covered platforms must remove such depictions within 48 hours of notification.
Under the bill, covered platforms are defined as public websites, online services, or applications that primarily provide a forum for user-generated content.”
That bill had 21 sponsors. They can get stuff done when it covers their own butts.
I believe they are covering for the permissiveness of the congresscritters and trying to end the blackmail. Gotta get this done before the Epstein files are revealed.

I’m not happy about the Big Beautiful Bill, to be a Trump supporter doesn’t mean we’re blind followers.
But then again, I fully understand that there is much we also don’t know about the Bill and the big picture, since they sign things before we know what they say, so maybe I’m wrong in not liking it.
Maybe they’ve thrown us a few bones we’ll like -out of an entire carcass.
I’m all for way less government spending, which is the path to reducing this filthy government.
I feel like defunding what is not working is the best path towards ending something.
But clearly the government doesn’t want to be reduced..
I’m becoming one of those people that fully understands that we’re never going to get where we’re trying to go being locked in this two party fake illusion- and this is by design. This isn’t a failing, it’s precisely how it’s been designed to work.. there is a growing number of us that see this all now.
We’re going there, whether we like it or not, we can choose to get dragged by the Democrats or we can be manipulated by our own party, BUT make no mistake, we WILL BE Going There.
So as I posted here this morning, it’s not so much about voting right or left, it’s about picking the poison that tastes best to you and this sure isn’t what the Founders built for us.

They started taxing social security payments in 1994. That should never have been passed.

This debt is a massive national security risk..
They would have had money to put aside, but the government stopped them and took it instead. Time to give it all back and axe SS in favor of high interest savings accounts that cannot be touched until 62, and after death be given to family members.

The vast majority had pensions, defined benefits, defined contributions, etc. Thank God for SS because otherwise we’d be at the complete mercy of the stock market. I am retired and my SO and I are fortunate to have some savings. Well over half of all retirees today have little or no savings, for whatever reason. Don’t knock SS, it is all that is between a roof over their heads and being on the street.
I’m not knocking SS at all, I’m saying that we’ve got a problem with it that needs fixing.
And I say this as a poor single mother that will absolutely need it, BUT I can also see this big picture and we’ve got to do the work it takes to fix these issues with it.
At this point, I’m certainly willing to sacrifice something so that our kids are not even worse off than we are.
Same here…good money while working but now retired 20 years and self-employed and self-insured, so now living off our investments…no pensions with all the perks. Expenses have increased dramatically but not our retirement income. We’ve given up any travel or luxury expenses…we pay our monthly bills with SS and interest on our savings…. and just hope we do not have long-term medical expenses ahead of us.

Haven’t heard much regarding all of the freeloading invaders and other scum who’ve been stealing SSI payments. Musk etc had a good start on cleaning up that mess, but I want to see criminal prosecutions and assets seized until every stolen dime is paid back

So, seniors being suddenly denied social security payments is okay with you. You expect that they will somehow survive because, prior to 1940, they managed to get by.
You assert that not wanting to do this to seniors is an “appeal to emotions”. Just because the government took their money over their entire working lives in order to ensure they got a pension when they were too old to work, you assert that people upset over you removing their funds is an “emotional” act.
Which means that you are okay with seniors starving, losing their homes and dying.
After all, we seniors are useless eaters, right?

You can’t trust the government with SS, and I have always advocated that if you have land, even if its 50ft of land, grow your own food. I don’t even know how much food is now unless I go website hopping. A vast chunk of income is spent on food, and if people grew their own they could have more fun! $5,000 they could be saving for other things. I planted more than 40 fruit trees, and grape vines 10 years ago just for retirement, I have chickens, and grow my own veg. I can quite literally eat fruit 12 months of the year, and in season. I also can extras in case I ever feel to ill to garden.

When they foreclosed on expensive homes in the 2008 crash people continued to live in them for 3 years. They didn’t have to pay for three years. Others who stayed in their homes and continued to make payments saw their home values cut in half. How is any of that legal?

I’m not trying to defend the spending. I don’t like it either. But President Trump has in mind he will substantially increase revenues with tariffs, with all the new business coming in that will pay tax, and by reducing the wasted money siphoned off to Canada and the EU in various ways.
He also seems to have ideas about personal income taxes and we might see something along those lines in the future.
For now, I’m confident he’s doing what he needs to do to get us where he wants to go.
I prefer his approach because once others are in power they will continue the spending. Even if President Trump had been able to cut or reduce spending now, it would be meaningless then. But if he does increase revenues, it will help us no matter what others may do later.
There may also come a time where he insists on a budget and cuts spending. But he apparently doesn’t think that time is now.

For a SC justice to make patently false statements from the Bench is near unbelievable. To distort history, repeatedly is simply inexcusable. Perhaps it is time to try some type of Reformation of the SC. We need above-average people on the SC…not run of the mill hacks. IMHO.

Agree…I personally am very rapidly losing my respect for the Supreme Court, which is a very sad thing. Chief Justice is very much to blame, imo…not sure if he is indeed “compromised” as rumors say or has been a “sleeper” or…. The burden of the Court’s reputation and public esteem has been sorely ignored and history will not treat him kindly. I now see him edging into the Comey, Brennen, Wray arena. I have a faint hope that public opinion will gather so much momentum they can no longer ignore it and start responding.
If President Trump gets another shot at seating a Justice on the SCROTUS, it should be John Eastman.

Hegseth Starts Evangelical Prayer Services at Pentagon with His Tennessee Church Pastor

In a move that pushes the boundaries of Constitutional prohibition against a state religion, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth hosted an evangelical prayer service in the middle of the day at the Pentagon in which a pastor praised President Donald Trump as “sovereignly appointed.”
A program for the event called it the “Secretary of Defense Christian Prayer and Worship Service.” It was held at the Pentagon’s auditorium and was broadcast throughout the building on its internal cable network.
Standing behind a podium bearing the logo of the Defense Department, Hegseth declared that “this is precisely where I need to be, exactly where we need to be as a nation, at this moment in prayer, on bended knee, recognizing the providence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” according to an audio recording of the event obtained by Military.com.
Defense officials did not answer questions about whether the event ran afoul of the First Amendment of the Constitution, which prohibits the U.S. government from establishing or endorsing one faith above others.

Also, Kevin Hasstert said in a recent interview that Doge recommended cuts will be voted on later (and some other cuts) after the budget bill passes.

The Democrats have a clear pattern of doing whatever the hell they want to do until they are stopped- which can take years and decades to actually happen- and they know this.
They do it and ask questions later- if at all. They act, they jump, they go for it until someone stops them.

So look at how far they get their ball down the field in that time period.
The Right doesn’t seem to grasp this and play the game this way and frankly, we’re losing a lot of ground this way.
We’ve gotten where we are because of their incrementalism and that is one way that so much has happened by them.. and then add in the fact that we’ve got very little of a true and real Opposition Party that shuts them right down as they should be doing.

Based on what they have and haven’t done, and culminating in their performance the other day, it would take a lot more than that.
How amazing is it to watch people earn their living by calling out problems and the minute they might be able to do something about the problems, they fold.
One comment I saw suggested what they had learned was so awful they couldn’t share it. Nothing could be worse than not sharing it. Even if Congress exploded– if you consider that awful — we wouldn’t lose much and under strong leadership we would be up and running quickly.

One is OK Charter School Board vs Drummond. Judgement affirmed a lower court’s previous ruling because the U.S. Supreme Court was 4-4 with Barrett not having participated in any of this case. It is the case where the private religious schools sought to receive funding just as the State’s public schools received; the lower court said no, so that stands.
The other is Kousisis vs United States, 9-0 but Barrett wrote the decision with 7 justices concurring and then Gorsuch and Sotomayer wrote separate concurring opinions based on different reasons. This ruling says a defendant who induces a victim to enter into a transaction under materially false pretenses may be convicted of federal fraud even if the defendant did not seek to cause the victim economic loss. This had to do with a company that got a contract from the federal govt, which requires some of the supplies have to be from one of the govt.-determined handicapped owned companies, set it up so that subcontracted company was simply a pass through so not providing material, in this case paint, per the govt requirement, so fraud happened (with the govt. being the victim of the fraud).

Concerning this issue, it is beyond wonderful that billions of dollars wasted on developing a system for the Treasury, and added to that all the billions we’ve lost due to having a bad and antiquated system, is finally being addressed!
The system is not only being addressed, but by someone who is competent to do the job. This is exciting news! I’m interested in the details and how long the project will take.
From what I’ve read the old Treasury system made it easy to steal money because transactions weren’t tracked. I think Doge tried to patch the old system, but getting a new system in place after 30 years and billions behind schedule is fantastic.
Maybe you could wait until we know more or the new guy actually does something before questioning if hiring him is another problem?
