Not decades. I spent a lot of time in SA outside of the cities about 11-12 years ago and this was not an issue then.
Funny, I’ve been reading about it long before then. From 1990-2012, 1,544 were killed.
Ok. I travelled for business all over the Country – visited and met with ranchers, farmers and property owners frequently. Never once was I aware of any danger to them or their colleagues/neighbors regarding anything above the basic fact that crime was high most everywhere.
The stats above mean that an average of 70 farmers were murdered per year Country-wide. Though that is 70 too many, it’s perhaps not a large enough number to be noticed. For example, Chicago has nearly ten times that number per year…

Thinking about it later, I realized that the problem, the desire to eliminate/genocide/kill all the white people with impunity, is not limited to South Africa.
