The principals phone call follows on the heels of Secretary of State Marco Rubio having a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
WASHINGTON DC – US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. During the call, Rubio delivered a message from US President Donald Trump.
During the conversation with Lavrov, the US Secretary of State welcomed the prisoner exchange agreement reached in talks between Ukraine and Russia on May 16 in Istanbul.
Rubio also conveyed a clear message from President Trump.
“The United States is committed to achieving a lasting end to the Russia-Ukraine war. The comprehensive peace plan proposed by the United States outlines the best way forward,” Rubio emphasized.

Trump says Zelensky ‘pissed away’ Ukraine aid
President Trump accused his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky of having “pissed away” billions of dollars in US aid for the war-torn country.
Trump, in a Friday interview with Fox News’ “Special Report” host Bret Baier, insisted that Kyiv’s management of US-provided funds bothered him more than the amount of money Washington has doled out to Ukraine since Russia’s February 2022 invasion.
“The money is the money,” the president said. “What bothered me — I hated to see the way it was, you know, excuse me, pissed away.
Trump vented his frustrations with Zelensky’s handling of US aid in response to a question from Baier on whether he’s considering additional sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I hated to see that checks were sent for $60 billion every time Zelensky [traveled to Washington],” he fumed.
By “pissed away” he meant stole it, laundered it, and kicked it back to the same people that approved sending it.

Something happened between the time Trump sent those Javelin’s and the beginning of his second term of office, when he came into office attempting to make peace between the belligerents. It was something really big, kind of a game changer between when the US was training and aiding Ukraine, and now. Can you reach back and figure out, what might be different now? Can you figure out WHY the USA might, for example, send Javalins to say, Israel or Taiwan or South Korea or the E.U., versus to a belligerent during a hot war already in progress, when neither side intends to stop the war?

Based on these messages conveyed by SOS Rubio, President Trump isn’t going for “something else.” It’s the repeated mantra by the Americans, with the notable exception of J.D. Vance, of immediate ceasefire, which the Russians have repeatedly stated is unacceptable for good reason, that the Ukrainians have a history of using ceasefires to re-arm and strengthen their position. There’s seems to be an assumption within the Kellogg/Rubio faction of the administration that an immediate ceasefire will lead to a lasting peace.
President Trump is saying we’ve got a “comprehensive peace plan” that “outlines the best way forward.” Doesn’t sound like he’s looking for an offer from President Putin, but rather his acquiescence.
Ending all funding, weapons, and intel to Ukraine, which would bring an end to this war quickly – now that would be “something else.”

If the Russians were willing to experience a sudden and severe spike in their own casualties, they could probably end it by October of 2025 by taking everything east of the Dnieper River, plus Kiev, plus Odessa and the region around it, while completely shattering Ukraine’s armed forces in the process. It would be exceedingly expensive in lives and material resources, but the Russians could probably do it if they really set their minds to it.
Why casualties? It’s already lopsided in their favor by likely historic numbers. They own the sky, have a superior integrated air defense, superior manufacturing capability, and the new unblockable hypersonic missile.

Russia has stated many times it needs Ukraine to be denazified and demilitarized. Anything short of that will destroy all credibility of the Russian leadership and piss off 90% of Russians. Trump has no cards, unless Putin was a regular on Epstein Island. A ceasefire would mean freezing the conflict, having NATO soldiers flood in, resupplying Ukraine, press-ganging more Ukrainians for the army, building hundreds of miles of new trenches, and hundreds of forts. It would be like the Allies on the western front agreeing to a ceasefire demanded by Germany in January 1945. Somebody is deluded or lying.
NATO teamed up with the components from the WWII Nazi divisions 13 SS Handschar & 21 SS Skanderberg against our old friends and allies the Serbian people, who were Holocaust victims in the Balkans wars to expand NATO/Crime cartels/Islam.
The Nazis were big allies with the Muslims, something we see today as the EU floods their nations with muslims to destroy their countries. Who are our real friends and who are our real enemies is something we all should be seriously contemplating.

I don’t know who Trump is listening to, but the ceasefire idea could end in a terrible backfire on him. A ceasefire is not an end to the war. It is a time out.
Ukraine should want to negotiate the end of it rather than a time out because they are a mess. The fact they are lying and doing all they can for a ceasefire more than an end to the war will smell pretty bad to the Russians.

The Russians could easily get a ceasefire with suitable conditions by demanding in writing that no foreign troops will enter as a peacekeeping force.
Stopping the killing is a simple concept both sides would need to agree with. But I really am starting to think RU has no interest in ending the war through negotiations
Ukraine is calling for an unconditional ceasefire. In other words, what you were saying is an option is not an option as far as Ukraine is concerned. Russia has dealt with Zelensky and sees him as a doped up liar, which he is.
That said, I doubt this war will be ended with talks about ceasefires which get violated quite often. One or both parties lie and breach them and claim it was the other guy. There has been just too many little quiet meetings between the EU/UK and I see them as plotting.
If that happened, it would be bad for Trump and it will put him in a bad position which I believe the globalists would just adore.

On a regular basis, I notice a few comment makers tag-teaming and trying to elbow PDJT in the ribs. This place doesn’t have to be an echo chamber but, as Sundance once warned, some people {IC, marxists, instant experts, etc} who do not support PDJT leave comments too.
C-i-C Trump has tens of thousands under his command. Many are dirty and attribute to Trump errors they have (purposefully) made.

Just yesterday Trump commented that the Russians had to abort their attack on Kiev because “their tanks got stuck in the mud” and the parrotting general Milleys propaganda line of how Russia expected to take Kiev within a week (3 days actually) but they couldnt. So now the Ukraine war was a big burden to Russia that they were just aching to get rid of, if given the off ramp by Trump.
Further Trump does not seem to realize (or he’s very good at hiding it) that the US had a big role in Ukraine, even having a forward command outpost in Germany to command Ukraine troops movements. That is direct US involvement.
Hardly from the position of neutral negotiator, but Trump would be calling as an active participant in the conflict.
Well, hopefully by Monday someone is going to brief Trump about the actual facts of the past and on the ground, or it is going to be a huge giant waste of time for everyone.
Barring that nothing will be achieved on Monday.
I’ve mentioned my thoughts about ending this war here once before a while back.
1. The Nazi Ukranian faction, with help from various US sources, started this war by killing Ukrainians who favor Russia. Like an attempted ethnic cleansing op. And key here is those enclaves are on Russia’s border.
2. More important, perhaps, and in that same vein, NATO has expanded it reach right up close to Russia, violating the agreements made at the end of the cold war that NATO not creep any closer than the were at that time. As I see it, Russia is fighting a defensive war to keep the filthy globalist Europeeing countries from getting close enough to do serious damage to Russian interior.
3. The deal was that Ukrain never be allowed to join NATO, yet that is exactly what little z and NATO countries over there have been pushing for.
4. USA is the backbone of NATO: no other country in the world pumps as much money and war fighting assets into the organization than we do.
With all of the above in mind, I would suggest that we, The USA, should remove from NATO, and hence force the globalist EU and other countries that promote the continuance of the war against Russia to pay their own way. That action alone of pulling our money and resources out would most likely put a rapid stop to the war in Ukraine.
Note to the warmongers in our Congress and Senate: Back off and take care of our own national security here at home, you den of thieves.

We need to ditch the EU and form a strong alliance with Russia. We could agree to defend each other if attacked by any foreign country and we could agree to no tariffs on each, but the same tariffs on other countries.

So the Russians said they want the 4 oblasts, + Crimea at Istanbul meetings.
Supposedly the Russian side told the Ukrainians to agree, or ‘next year it will be 5 provinces.
But, some say 8 by end of 2026.
That could include Sumy, Kharkov, plus Odessa & Nicolayev oblasts.
Since Zelenskiy won’t acknowledge that Crimea is now in Russia, after a referendum in 2014, and Trump says Crimea is part of Russia, we have a stand-off. Zelenskiy won’t negotiate until there is a complete ceasefire. Once a ceasefire is in place, EU troops need to move in and ‘secure the peace’. Zelenskiy will negotiate only after all Russian forces have been withdrawn to pre-2014 borders, because not one square centimeter of Ukrainian land is negotiable, and he will then be happy to negotiate the size of the monetary reparations that Russia will have to give the Ukraine and also negotiate which Russian soldiers will be turned over to the Ukraine to stand trial for war crimes. He has never budged from that position nor his position of the Ukraine joining NATO. OTOH, Mr. Putin was ready to leave the Ukraine in March 2022 after the Ukraine and Russia initialed an agreement calling for all Russian troops quickly to be out of pre-2022 Ukraine and that the Ukraine would forego attempting to join NATO and abide with the Minsk Accords. Russia withdrew the symbolic amount of troops it had surrounding Kharkiv as a show of good faith. When Boris Johnson, at the behest of the Biden administration, nixed that deal and ordered Zelenskiy to continue the fighting. At the time, Mr. Putin said the longer the Ukraine takes to return to the negotiation table, the harsher the deal will be for the Ukraine. In June 2024, Mr. Putin announced Russia’s latest demands for ending the war: The Ukraine must withdraw from Kherson, Zaporzhia, Donets’k, and Luhans’k in addition to the four oblasts already part of Russia. The Ukraine must also disarm its military, become a declared neutral country like Austria, and remove the NAZI elements from its government. Putin’s rule still exists that the longer the Ukraine waits, the more they will lose. Next step is annexing Odessa, Mykolaiv, Dneipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv. All eight of these oblast are very Russian friendly and the Russians will be seen as liberators rather than occupiers. Trump has zero influence with Putin; what has Trump ever done for Russia except apply sanctions his first term? As for Mr. Putin’s stance on ceasefires, back in 2014 when Minsk 1 and Minsk 2 were signed, Russia was satisfied until the agreement was immediately broken by the AFU shelling of Donets’k resistance forces. German Chancellor Angela Merkle, and others, have since admitted that the Minsk agreements were just a way to stall Russia until the West could build the Ukraine’s military to be the biggest in Europe. Weeks before Russia invaded, the Ukraine had massed troops all along the Donets’k border. Days before the invasion, US Secretary of State Tony Blinken told Russian Foreign Minister Lavrob that once the Ukraine was a member of NATO, which was a certainty, that Russia would have no say in what type or number of missiles the West installed on Russia’s long border with the Ukraine. The original 2014 coup that overthrew the neutral Ukrainian government of Viktor Yanukovych was sponsored by the US State Department and Victoria Nuland with help from the US CIA. Best for Trump to leave the Russians to their rat killing if Zelenskiy won’t give up even a square centimeter when he’s beat. “To the last Ukrainian” say Zelenskiy and his Deep State Globalist American Empire backers.
The phone call will be for show — a message to the people indicating what the future may bring, or not bring; most of the real talking has already taken place.
President Trump has some cards he can play (since that seems to be one of the new expressions taking over social media).
Putin and Zelensky would both be wise to take the off ramp, or should I say: the Ukrainian and Russian people would likely be better off for it, as they are the ones who pay the real price.
