Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost from Chicago has been selected by the papal conclave to become the next pope. Cardinal Prevost was created by Pope Francis in 2023. As the new Bishop of Rome, Cardinal Prevost has selected the name Pope Leo XIV.
(VIA MSM) – Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has become the first-ever American elected as the leader of the Catholic Church — now known by his pontifical name of Pope Leo XIV.
The 69-year-old, born on the Southside of Chicago, is seen as a diplomat of the church and was an important adviser to his predecessor, Pope Francis.
He became a front-runner to the papacy in the days before the conclave began, said Rev. James Martin, a papal contributor to ABC News.
Leo emerged from the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica on Thursday evening to throngs of cheering crowds, following the signal of white smoke that emanated from the chimney atop the Sistine Chapel.

The Catholic claim to being the “original church” hinges largely upon a select interpretation of Matthew 16:18-19 – an interpretation that many (including myself) find is not supported in the Greek.
I know that steps on a lot we know of as “Christian history” was written by the victors – meaning those that supported the standardization of Christianity beginning circa 300 AD. Through that process, there were a great number of congregations declared “anathema” because they disagreed with what was being declared “Christian doctrine” by the growing number of Ecumenical and regional councils.
Most of those congregations were far more in harmony with Christ’s own faith and example (that Scripture clearly demonstrates), than much of what is recognized as standard Christianity today – whether Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant.

Easter Orthodox Church differs from the Papal Roman Catholic Church in that it has no central or governmental control. The pope is head of state of a sovereign state, often referred to as the smallest nation. The Roman Catholic Church is the ultimate non-separation of church and state and is in direct opposition to our Constitution which very clearly mandates the two separated. Roman Catholic is the Vatican City State religion. This, once aware of it, should weigh heavy with Catholic Patriots as they protect the Constitution’’s separation of church and state in America but their faith, their religion is under a church/state government whose heads of states actively insert themselves in destroying our Constitution.
So yes, perhaps it is time for Catholics to live their Catholic faith with their Orthodox brothers and sisters.

It would be interesting to learn when and why and by whom the term “organized religion” was originally used and how that compares to “Judeo-Christian” as a term.
You want a quick answer? What we now recognized as “organized religion” began to be formatted and standardized during the 200’s AD. The accelerator was hit in the early 300’s AD when the Roman Emperor Constantine declared Christianity to be the official religion of his Roman Empire. He marched his army through a river, and pronounced them “baptized”.
The Roman Patriarch was fast-tracked to its primacy during this time. That’s easy when you have the Emperor in the same town on your side.
Judeo-Christian? Rome fast-tracked a standardization process that essentially took any practice that smelled of Jewishness and declared it heretical. Much of what we understand as “Christianity” today was stripped of anything Jewish.
Why? It was generally believed that all Jews were Christ-killers, betrayers of both Christ and His church, and had rightly called down persecution upon their own heads. Anything “Jewish” was deemed ended at the cross. Even a casual reading of the early diaries and writings of what we deem the early church leaders, are replete with negativity, even outright hatred, of the Jew – which run very counter to Paul’s own writings of the Jews in Romans 9-11.
incidentally, one will find many of those same thoughts rampant among many deep in the current budding Christian Nationalist movement – they excise “Judeo” from “Judeo-Christian”.
However, a Christianity stripped of its “Jewishness” does not follow Christ’s example. The Covenant is always “Judeo-Christian” – reflecting God’s reach to humanity through Adam, Seth, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob/Israel, David, Jesus, then His church. In truth, it is less “Judeo-Christian”, and more God’s everlasting Covenant since before Genesis 3:15, and repeated again in both Genesis 15:1-21 and Genesis 17:1-10.
Paul calls what was done at Mt. Sinai, was an addendum to the Covenant that did not replace the Covenant of faith and grace (Galatians 3:17) – it did not nullify the Covenanted Promise of Christ.

…and on the other side is Jesus. Jesus says that now is the time, the Second Coming is upon humanity, and that he is letting all his followers know about this, and he thought he should give the Pope, a devout follower, a call. Jesus also tells the Pope He has good news and bad news.
“What’s the good news?” the Pope asks.
“Oh, I’m currently at the place where the few of my earthly followers got it all right. We are setting up the base of operations here.”
“Fantastic!” the Pope exclaims, thinking Jesus is already in the Vatican. “What is the bad news?”
