Yes, based on actual history, President Trump’s “Drain the Swamp” theme from 2016 apparently meant he would first expose the deceit, fraud, and high level of corruption. in the federal government “Drain the swamp” meant lowering the murky water level such that all of the vile inhabitants could be seen for who and what they actually are.
There never was an expectation by the President and his closest supporters that he could turn around the morals, ethics, and general integrity of the sprawling Administrative State (“deep state”) within one 4-year term. The exposure of DC corruption has been and still is kept off the headlines and news shows of the MSM, so PDJT has to attract the general public’s attention by using strong performative players in key positions were they can have an impact and the MSM cannot avoid reporting on their activities.
But early on Trump said somewhere that he needed 70+% of the public in general agreement with his efforts before he could effect real change throughout the federal government. Judges must feel the pressure from the public before many of them will muster the courage to make correct decisions, so most of the legal and administrative battle is being waged uphill – against a long-entrenched ideologically leftwing bureaucracy, including many district and appellate court judges.
