There are a ton of geopolitical influences happening in the background and foreground of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, President Trump voice and envoy Steve Witkoff, and Keith Kellogg meeting in Paris with delegations from France, U.K, Ukraine and EU stakeholders. The intent is to get the EU/UK on board with a Trump/Putin ceasefire plan.

French President Emmanuel Macron (seeking a distraction from his own internal political turmoil) has appointed himself as representative for EU interests in the peace negotiations. No one in the EU wants to hear Macron keep whining, so they just roll with it. Macron even bought new lifts for the occasion.
The UK comes into the picture in Paris because France and the UK have decided to lead the coerced EU “coalition of the willing” (not many are willing) to create the boots on the ground peacekeepers if there is going to be a ceasefire. REMINDER: Macron and Starmer demand the U.S. backstop their proposed Ukraine peacekeeping with USA military power.
Those of you who bet on Macron using the opportunity to leverage a better tariff position; actually, the entire reason he appointed himself leader; can take a victory lap. “At Thursday’s talks in Paris, Macron also discussed the impact of Trump’s tariff policies and the conflicts in the Mideast.” (source) We all knew the little French rat would. We were right.
REMINDER: Steve Witkoff is the literal voice and ears of President Trump. However, the EU narrative around Steve Witkoff doesn’t realize Wikkoff is literally Trump’s voice, and they are emphasizing the meeting in France as the first time Witkoff has met the counter position from his time with Putin. France and U.K don’t like how much time Witkoff has spent with Russian President Putin and view him as too warm toward Russia. Witkoff is, because Trump is.
During the sessions, Macron would break away to talk to Zelenskyy by phone, and Rubio would break away to talk with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov by phone.
The EU, specifically represented by France and the U.K representing the interests of the NATO/Corporate industrial military complex who want bigger conflict and more war, sit at the table with officials from Germany and Ukraine. The only elements who want the ceasefire are the two-thirds of the USA group, Witkoff and Rubio. USA representative Keith Kellogg wants to sit on the warmonger side with Macron (EU), the U.K and NATO.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Macron doing the bureaucratic thing that Brussels is well known for, announced that another meeting for talk and banter must be scheduled in London, because Kier Starmer needs to talk a lot, inject himself into all the conversations and have his important pictures taken too.
Meanwhile, Russia keeps doing what Russia needs to do because President Trump and President Putin have already talked, so now they wait because Putin knows he and Trump need to wait until all the bloviating from the EU/NATO group is finished.
Essentially, Rubio and Witkoff need to sit in the cloistered chairs listening to the pontificating terms and obtuse requests from the high-horse sitting, Zelenskyy defending EU/NATO group. Macron and Starmer need to feel important, and we can also expect some public photo-ops and ridiculous words from EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will be required before things are professionally “decided.”
Ultimately, the “things decided” will be what President Trump and President Putin agree to. However, the rest of the group, including the insufferable Ukrainian elements who belligerently act like they have strategic importance only because the CIA keeps them in power, need to feel included.
The end result is going to be what Trump (through Witkoff) and Putin have already outlined. Russia will keep eastern Ukraine, NATO will pledge to stop influencing Ukraine and the EU will give Ukraine membership.
Between now and the outcome of those basic terms surfacing with President Trump and President Putin having a globally significant meeting, there will be a lot of talking, meetings and press releases by the other players who need to keep their nations distracted from their domestic matters.
When President Trump and President Putin come together, Macron will likely be jumping up and down photobombing from the background of the photo session. However, Putin doesn’t like to watch the theatrics of EU self-importance, so there may be rules for attendance.
I feel like President Trump has the initiative now to end this war.
He’s in a better position to end it than the War Pigs are to continue it.

European “elites” (as they see themselves) need this war to continue, especially as President Trump has taken a sharp knife to USAID with one deadly (for them) slash.
The acceleration at which Europe and Britain are falling is increasing at terrifying speed, their cultures and native populations being subsumed by others antithetical to Western traditions and religion. This displacement/replacement is something which complicates matters for these preening delusional oligarchs.
There is a lot of bold talk about conscription and placing troops from European countries on the ground on Ukraine. And this threatening chatter has gotten the attention of Europeans who don’t fancy being forced to their menfolk into the meat grinder whilst leaving their families at the mercy of men who will never ever be required to serve…you know exactly what I mean.
What I see with this meeting are stalling tactics by weak, frightened, pompous men who are losing their grip, who probably understand they’ve lost control of the Pandora’s box which Merkel opened.
Once they play that conscription card…if they play it…my opinion is that the large intermittent protests which show themselves from time to time in support of one cause or another (think Yellow Vests or the farmers in the Netherlands) will be made to look like a minor drunken bust up after a pub crawl.

A part of “Seeing the whole board”,…the confluence of events, is that just as this is happening, Nationalist/Populist political party popularity in all 27 EU Countries is surging.
These parties have formed a coalition, to share information and resources, and Musk is providing assistance.
For instance, when Germany was seriously considering outlawing the AFD party, and trying to prevent them from internet, Musk had an “X” chat, with the AFD leader.
The elites are trying lawfare, and various means of suppression, such as declaring the Romanian elections void, and insisting on a do-over, then barring the Nationalist candidate, but they just put up an alternative, and much like the Lawfare against PDJT only helped him, they have reached the point of diminishing returns, where any such attempts only make the Nationalists more popular.

I hope Witkoff (Trump’s voice) and Rubio lay out the basic terms of Trump’s and Putin’s parameters for the “ceasefire” (i.e., the final settlement), tell Macron, Starmer, von der Leyen, and Zelensky they have one week to agree to them, or else Trump is going to pull all support for Ukraine (military advisors, CIA, military intelligence, armaments, weapons shipments) OUT of Ukraine immediately.
Trump wants real, genuine action to end the war fast. When this photo op is over, he’ll get on the phone with the big four num-nuts and tell them to stop being stupid, and to think good and hard about what Rubio and Witkoff have just told them. He’ll tell them their on their own if they don’t stop being fools.
And then we’ll all find out if the EU/NATO and the U.S. will continue to be allies.
Trump is not going to stand for any more dilly-dallying. I think we’re going to see a complete re-shuffling of the current “international order.” And I believe the four num-nuts are going to deeply regret their foolishness, and every one of them will go eventually down in flames.

What he says is that the United States will “move on” from concern about Ukrainian peace if there is no possibility of a peace deal.

@sundance I have imagined everything you just described using your words. This is like a synopsis of a blockbuster movie that Hollyweird used to make years ago before my time lol. The only issue I have in your vivid description is that Putin will allow Ukraine to get EU membership. In a Hollyweird movie I see EU membership for Ukraine but in reality I don’t see Putin allowing that to happen. EU membership is Putin’s redline. Unless Putin decides to pull a Hussein Obozo fake redline and decide to backtrack on the EU membership redline. If anything Putin would request EU membership for Russia which is more plausible. If Putin allows Ukraine to have EU membership that’s the beginning of the end for Putin’s Russia and the end of Putin as we know him. EU membership for Ukraine is the Trojan Horse for EU/NATO to finally defeat Russia and takeover from where they left off years ago during the Boris Yelstin reign.
The EU is on its last legs, financially, and most likely politically given the rising rebellion against the forced requirement to take in third-world “refugees” – so don’t see what is left of Ukraine joining the EU to be that much of a problem for Russia.
Such a membership would be what they call a pyrrhic victory for Ukraine; all the lives lost to join a club of European bloviators only to discover it now has new rulers (Brussels) demanding it follow their rules.

The big issue is the frozen Russian assets.
According to Macron, International law (a fiction, as it does not literally exist in any written form) says that if the concensus of Intrrnational opinion is that Russia was the “Unprovoked aggressor” than at the conclusion of hostilities, Ukraine, the EU and the U.S. can keep the assets, and use them to finance reparations.
Hence, a major motive for pushing, from day one, the false narrative that the Russian Special operation was an “unprovoked aggression”; the EU,Zman and no douvt U.S. Congress were all looking forward to money laundering that $ thru Ukraine, and getting their beaks wet.
PDJT firstly knows that is neithr fair nor right, and President Putin is certainly not going to agree to any ceasefire that doesn’t include a release of those frozen assets, back to Russia.
Ultimately, as President Trump is currently negotiating tariffs with the EU, he has tremendous leverage to force the EU to accept whatever deal he and President Putin work out.
No verbal or even written assurance can assure Putin and Russia that these same bad actors will not try, at some pointbin the future to once again attempt to destabilise Russia, in order to balkanise and exploit it.

The only elements who want the ceasefire are the two-thirds of the USA group, Witkoff and Rubio. USA representative Keith Kellogg wants to sit on the warmonger side with Macron (EU), the U.K and NATO.
Duran repeatedly said Waltz and Kellogg and Rubio are more aligned with neo-con factions of the Trump administration in pushing for a ceasefire solution on Russia.
Witkoff is more aligned with Istanbul agreement and moving in the direction of Istanbul+
I don’t think I have seen Witkoff call a ceasefire, not anyway prior before the fate of the 4 oblasts that voted to join Russian Federation is sorted anyway.
Trump is playing both avenues – Unconditional Ceasefire vs Istanbul+ – and its unclear what he’s going to choose.
It’s clear though a ceasefire has little chance to start or be upheld (the alleged energy ceasefire on Energy Infrastructure that shoulda woulda started last month but never transcribed in dates was – if if were active at all – breached multiple times… by Ukraine)
The woulda coulda ceasefire on the Black Sea the EU did not want to lift sanctions on Russia grain exports, so there you go.
The issue is Trump should have taken door number 3 : stop all intelligence and money and weapons into Ukraine, say this is Biden’s war, walk away. For some reason he insists on being a peace negotiator. With the article on the NY Times about the US running a command center in Germany to steer and command directly Ukrainian assault troups… being a peace negotiator as a participant in the war becomes impossible.
Pretending to be an “neutral intermediary” in a war provoked by – lets face it Team USA – makes it look like conflict of interest at best. Layer on Minsk 1 and 2 that were used to re-arm Ukraine (by admission of Merkel and Hollande and others) … Well… They must think Russia to be pretty foolish to try and fool them the same way again.

This move by the EU makes no sense other than to target Ukraine moving into NATO.
The USA is still sending money to pay the salaries and pensions of Ukraine’s govt and armed forces. When we stop paying, the whole thing comes to an end. Zelensky is stalling for time because he’s laundering the money for as long as it lasts.
The people at that table should have to spend a week at the front of that war or any war. Those that make it back would have much better war ending skills and better still, war prevention skills.
