All Wisconsin voters had to vote on a proposed constitutional amendment regarding the state’s Voter ID law:
The whole state supported the Voter ID amendment to the State’s Constitution except the Madison and Milwaukee areas, which voted against it by Madison about 60 to 70% and Milwaukee about 50-60%.
The next election should be a fair one, which it has not been since 2020 when Governor Evers illegally changed the voting laws.
Elections won’t be fair until the voter rolls are cleaned up and the ballot cheating is eradicated.

Woke up at 07:30 to an angry sky and thunder boomers. Got the kids out to do their business just before the rain came. As I write this it is almost as dark as night to the west and I think I detect a little green tint to it. Green tint means hail.
A look at my weather station barometer shows 29.54 INHG and falling. A look at the radar shows we are just catching the tail of it with much worse being concentrated up north. Morning commute in Chicago land is going to suck worse than usual.
As predicted, this tornado season is showing all indications of being exceptionally active. I think we’ve gotten spoiled the last several years and now things are getting back to the way I remember them as a kid in the 60s and early 70s.

Not just due to wind and tornadoes but also because of heavy rains and flooding of roadways. Some places are forecast to get 7-10″ and one area they’re showing getting up to 12″ or rain. That high probability from NOAA is very rare in their convective outlook severe weather forecasts. In fact one doesn’t see even moderate risk areas very often.

As I write this my trucking friend Randy just left the Carter yard here in Anderson and it heading down to Morristown, IN SW of Indy to pick up and from there to head to Paragould, AR with a load of bricks. He’ll be driving through the area where the probability for the worst weather is highest. The only good news is that his load in the trailer will probably be 43-44,000 lb. A heavy load makes it unlikely you’ll be blown over unless you get caught in a tornado. The skirts that they put on trailers now also help to keep the wind from going under the trailer and thus helps prevent blow overs.
Randy does the same job I did as an on call driver to cover loads that don’t get covered or that other drivers/steering wheel holders, call off at. This load is almost certainly one that a driver called off of because Randy got the call at home at 05:00 to leave the terminal at 09:30.
Days like this make me especially happy that I’m retired. Since I live within 15 minutes of the terminal there would be times when they would call me before it was my turn in the rotation because I could get in quick to take a load a driver had called off of at the last minute.
Days like this also make me feel good about having that whole house backup generator. We’re near the end of the line of where Anderson City Utilities service and the power lines run by or through a bunch of trees before it gets to us. When there are high winds that take out power lines in various areas we are generally some of the last to get ours restored. At times that has meant going 20 hours or more without power. Typically, if you leave the door closed, the stuff in a freezer will start to thaw enough in 20 hours that your ice cream has melted and any sea food is going to have to be dumped.
When the lines go down I will lose internet for the computer but we get our TV through DISH and have a cell tower near us and thus get 4G service on our phones so we can stay connected and informed one way or another.
I ran a line haul route part time when I was living overseas and coming home for summer work.
Milk products one way and yogurt going the other way. Liquids! 10lbs to the gallon. Three axles on thr trailer. Some heavy loads when skids were loaded right to the back door.
We used to run trains. Always felt cool running down the 401 with nothing but trailer in the mirrors.
Good times. My best memory was hauling machinery through the mountains of B/C along the river. Mountains to my one side and river on the other. Full moon. Classic country cranked on the radio. The ole Freightliner sure sounded great at high speeds. You can’t replicate that kind of night. All alone out on desolate highway. Just you and the hum of the diesel engine and God.

IDK how/why that happened
Tornadoes north of us and south of us. My granddaughter who lives South of Pendleton, IN saw one going through the farm fields not far from her house. The nearest tornado warning now is in New Castle which is only about 12 miles east of me.
We got 80 mph winds here and lost power. My new GENERAC is doing its job and running fine. For some reason I still have internet even though we lost the electric utility service.
Looking at Ryan Hall it looks like at any time there are about a dozen tornado warnings going at any one time. This is an outbreak like I cannot remember seeing.
Both my son in Indy and my granddaughter are ok.
Tornado touch downs all around us – Brownsburg, Indiana then hopped over us in Whitestown and touched down in Zionsville about 4 miles from me. Hit NW Indianapolis by St Vincent’s Hospital up 91st and Ditch, tore a barn down Trader’s Point, flipped semis I-65 and Eagle Creek, all down Lafayette Road to 71st area – our old neighborhood is College Park by 91st and Ditch. Won’t know the extent of damage until daybreak. They shut down Indy Int’l Airport. Pray also for Eva Roarke – was hitting her neighborhood down in Franklin, Indiana pretty hard. We are still having serious storm warnings through until 1 AM. We are safe. Cats are crankyyyyyy.

Thanks Ad Rem. I’m usually one of “those” who goes straight outside to check out these storms – not this one. We had very little time to react. Storm was on top of us before the tornado sirens went off. Took us too long to get the cats in carriers. Rah was 100% Meteorologists were giving Richmond, Indiana on the Ohio border 45 minute warnings… these storms were moving east at 70 mph according to the broadcasters, which frankly… the broadcasters were useless. We had about four minutes when our alarms went off. Someone’s going to have to answer for that. I’m about 15 miles NW of Indianapolis. We are on the other side of the line of storms now, but getting incredible wind shear and horizontal pouring rains.
