I can’t find a single thing to disagree with in that order — except that the schedule Trump was waving around was 50% of the tariffs the other nations put on us rather than 100% in many cases. If that’s a “ok guys, its exactly half, drop yours or it goes to all of it” — or even if all Trump did was compute on the trade imbalance rather than go line-by-line and item-by-item then that’s ok. I’ll defer judgment on this.

Further, we need a US content law for critical items — particularly pharmaceuticals. That requires Congress; yes, Trump could invoke the DPA (and legitimately so too) but this has to be a durable change as it involves people building plants with material requirements on time thus an E/O is not only the wrong way to address this it could be quite counter-productive.

Now manufacturers of various things sold into the United States have a tough choice to make — do they take the bet that this is a transient event and at worst goes away in 3-1/2 years, or do they bring the jobs and production back here to the US?

The second is of course what Trump wants and what we should all want.

Why?

Because it compresses the arms of the “K” in the economy. That is the common person here in America wins because he or she is the one putting together cars, performing mining and manufacturing instead of someone in a sweatshop making $5/day overseas.

This act by Trump today is a good thing.

Now that trade and tariffs are at the fore, we ought to take a look at government procurement. I remember when all levels of government in the United States were required to purchase goods from domestic vendors. You see, we used to make the best of all types of manufactured goods.

When the government is required to purchase goods from domestic manufacturers, everything from boots to flags to bridges, cars and spare parts, aspirins, all manner of goods, that represents a reliable source of revenue for these manufacturing companies. They can use these sales to borrow money for capital investment to create new jobs.

Manufacturing used to provide as much as 30 percent of the jobs in small and large towns across our country. These were middle class jobs, paying well enough to support families, pay mortgages, and put new cars in the garage. Beneath today’s discussions on tariffs and trade is the question, whether or not this manufacturing economy can ever be restored? It begins with the question: why not?

I do not agree with Rep. Luna’s bill on proxy voting; however, she is entitled to due process in the House which she did not receive.

So my question now is why on earth has Donald Trump played this game and allowed this to set us back- especially timewise- over and over again?

I’m feeling like I want to shake Donald Trump and say “Snap Outta It, Get Yer Head Right!!”.

You can say to me “he’s doing this because if he doesn’t they’ll impeach him”.
Well so what, how can they over using the power that is lawfully his to use?
Let this all be slowly revealed in the process.. if it even got to that.

This is my concern: as we all grow more and more educated as to how wrong and unconstitutional these nationwide injunctions are, the fact that POTUS continues to let these stop him and slow him down, this makes him look weak, it really does and I don’t like this at all.
Him playing this game is contributing to his own agenda being slowed down in it’s implementation. This is unwise and not okay.

These judges are going to do anything that they are allowed to do, they know full well that it could take years and years for the process to stop them and as this goes on, they are moving the Left’s agenda down the field.

We have lost this country through incrementalism and this right here is just what that looks like- it’s a method.

I’m quite frustrated with our two party system.
We have but two choices to vote for, criminals or their enablers.
Aside from the Presidents choice to play this game, Congress has done just about zero to stop it all leaving us with what?
This is what we call representation?

This is the calendar of when the House of Representatives is in session. The yellow days are when we are at work in Washington DC for our constituents representing the people that voted to send us here.

We already don’t have enough days here at work for the American people to pass President Trump‘s agenda and put his executive orders into law and now Anna Paulina Luna has shut us down for the entire week because she doesn’t want to come to work in Washington if she has another baby and joined with the Democrats to get her way.

So we won’t be voting on the SAVE Act which stops illegal aliens from voting in our elections.

And we won’t be voting to pass a bill that reigns in federal judges that are stopping President Trump from deporting CARTEL MEMBERS and illegal aliens.

This is all so ridiculous.

As a mother myself, I know A LOT of incredibly hard working dedicated women who get THE JOB DONE and are GREAT mothers at the same time!!!

Serving in Congress is a privilege and if you can’t serve due to important personal reasons, then step aside and let someone else serve who can and will work for the people!!

I’m sick of wasting time and days NOT passing the mandate from the American people!!!
