Someone is giving Trump bad legal advice. This is beginning to look like his first term when he was neutered by threats of impeachment if he did not bend to the corrupt DOJ or the Senate. They have found his weakness and intend to exploit it. The solicitor general needs to call a press conference and announce that these activist judges are not more powerful than the elected president and cite the constitutional co equal branches and state that he is strongly advising the POTUS to ignore these rulings. They are akin to a a soldier or police officer being mandated to ignore an unlawful order, policy or regulation in the performance of their duties.
Unfortunately. Roberts is going to support these illegitimate judges. What if these judges started issuing blatantly illegal orders requiring the POTUS to do insane things and the SCOTUS refused to step in to stop it. What then? And congress refused to impeach. We would have a coup on our hands. we are teetering on the brink.
I hope the administration keeps pointing this malarkey in the direction of the scotUS and hope they give up like the Biblical judge hounded by the aggrieved widow.

In a way I can understand people who aren’t grateful for what President Trump is accomplishing, for not being able to realize he faces massive problems while doing the best he can, and for focusing on what they want that isn’t happening instead of surveying the field and seeing improvement.
I get it. Frustration is an awful thing to deal with. But unfortunately it is part of adult life. Think about your life and the lives of everyone you know. The fact is, adults face frustrations and part of being an adult is to learn how to deal with it.
One of the best way to deal with your disappointments is to pick something you want to achieve and work on it. Sitting around and complaining doesn’t achieve anything. But if you get to work and keep at it, you just might become as productive as President Trump, albeit in your own sphere and way. It’s never too late to start.

The bodies of three U.S. Army soldiers who went missing last week in Lithuania have been found.
The search for the fourth continues.
The four disappeared early March 25 on a mission to repair and tow a vehicle.
The 63-ton armored recovery vehicle they were in was found a day later in a bog, 13 feet under water and encased in more than 6 feet of mud.
The U.S. Army said the vehicle was pulled out Monday morning after days of digging mud and draining water.
The U.S. Army didn’t release the names of the soldiers, who were part of the First Armored Brigade Combat Team, Third Infantry Division.

Madison WI Ground Report: Lots more cars than usual driving down my quiet side street, which is on the way to our polling place. Voted this morning 7:30am was ballot #31, so 1 ballot per minute was counted in just my ward. Also noticed during my dog walks many of these cars turning down the side street to our polling place, instead of continuing on the route out of our subdivision. Not sure our conservative votes will make a difference overall, as this is Dane County, a very liberal area. But, I think with the expected low turnout, it seems like a lot of traffic. I literally sit in my home office and observe traffic all day, every day (work from home). So, I think my observation is correct.

One of my Madison co-workers went this morning and said it was absolutely dead, but he lives over near Wily Street, which is even more concentrated-blue, so that’s either timing, weak turnout there, or they all mailed in (which is what 1310 AM was saying the other day re: heavy mail-in volume from blue areas)

i had requested an absentee ballot, and was planning to mail it in. but, my neighbor (who has worked as an election judge) explained that a poll worker must open my vote and sign it. She said that is where they can get rid of my vote if they don’t like it (don’t know how else to describe that type of vote fraud). Since she’s worked in that role, I figured it’s probably a common occurrence. She said that she & her husband always vote in person, which I felt was another warning to me – that my vote could be tampered with. I liked that they signed my ballot before I voted today, and that I put it in the counting machine myself. I checked my voting history (Which only shows whether you voted – not whom you voted for), and it said that I voted in 2018. I’m 90% sure I didn’t vote in that election. So, someone used my name and voted (probably democrat!)
I understand the concern about two Congressional seats being re-districted to give Dems two more seats in the House of Representatives, but I’m more concerned about how this Wisconsin state supreme court justice race will affect issues that are just Wisconsin issues. Not everything is about Washington, D.C.
It would certainly have devastating effects on both the citizens of the state and the direction of the nation. I totally understand.
Probably no one outside of Wisconsin would even know about this election if it didn’t have national implications.

Local talk radio is reporting heavy turnout, particularly in areas targeted by Pressler, Musk, etc. I voted on Friday so don’t know what turnout is like in our township, but early voting here was heavy, as it was in the WOW counties (Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington), very conservative areas.
I wonder what is happening in the Wausau area of the state. Did the ice storm on Sunday prevent anyone from voting today? It is imperative that the rural county voters get out and vote today. I happen to be one of those rural voters and my sisters and I voted early due to fear of an ice storm preventing us from getting out to vote.

I had a kid who works for me get upset that I wouldn’t agree to 12 full weeks of paid vacation so he could care for his stay at home wife after the baby is born. I pointed him to Colorado’s new FAMLI Act which taxes everyone to pay for 12 weeks off…but he would only get half pay…and was very upset about this. “So basically, you’re asking me to pay you $xx,000 over 3 months with no guarantee you’ll return, and nothing stops you from getting a second job and just soaking my company? Do I get that right”
“I wouldn’t do that.” Lol promises, promises. I told him he’s welcome to quit and go find an employer who will pay for 12 weeks full pay.
The sense of entitlement these days is stunning. When I pointed out that my wife and I had three kids and we got along just fine with the days off we were allowed to take, which was unpaid leave for my wife, and I got 2 weeks which I never actually used, he literally acted like I had not said a word. I, a staunch conservative, actually think her request was reasonable and warranted. It is Rep leadership that botched this one by tying it in with critical issues. Johnson’s statement that it violates the constitution falls flat as Congress has done it under COVID and courts have ruled that was OK. Carving out a 12 week period for mothers is not a hill leadership should choose to die on – and yet they did. Guess they are not as smart as they think they are.
It does violate the Constitution. A GOP Rep pointed out this afternoon that the Constitution says you must vote in person. The COVID voting was wrong and the GOP tried to stop it many times but the Dems wanted it and kept it. Guess who voted in droves today with the 11 GOP to change the rules – the Dems!!!!

So – the house could adopt a rule allowing proxy voting under very specific circumstances like mother and birth (it did not say as noted below parents, i.e. including fathers) and in this digital age with very strict scope on topics being proxy voted (not open ended). The 12 weeks could likely be up for debate, shortened.
“Luna — who has long pushed for proxy voting for new moms” I could be wrong about the ‘parents’ in the bill being presented. Rep Luna was specific for the mothers… so perhaps a compromise could have been reached that did not include ‘parents’.

Why is USC 8 not being used? I’m not a lawyer but my read of it tells me that, IMHO, everyone involved in creating sanctuary cities and such can and should be arrested. Am I missing something?

One of the “Republicans” who voted against my bill to stop people from hiring illegals told me that he knows a business that likely intentionally hires illegals so he didn’t want to risk them going out of business by passing my bill because they “do good work.”
There’s nothing stopping them from “doing good work”. They need to stop hiring people for pittance wages, pay good, and charge what it costs. I guarantee you there’s a market in the USA for people to hire landscapers and trades who they can actually speak to about their project instead of needing a translator.
“Jobs Americans Won’t Do” is just code for cheap foreign labor. We could be making a whole new generation of millionaires if we just teach our kids trades and get them to work at an early age.

Good to see Congress gearing up to pass legislation to rein in the courts. Let’s hope it’s not fluff. I think they’re making a strategic error by not subpoenaing Judge Biasberg and several other judges who are ideologically compromised.
The way you pierce that arrogant attitude of judicial supremacy is you call them down off their throne to testify before Congress. No robe. No gavel. And you ask them pointed questions and you demand plain English answers.
The legislation will be helpful, but you don’t shed sunlight on the problem without calling those arrogant authoritarians to testify.
Pressing Judicial Impeachments would produce a lot of light.
It doesn’t matter if the Senate can be counted out in the fight; a proper questioning in the House could destroy much of Lawfare.

B.C. officially kills its consumer carbon tax
British Columbia’s 17 years of having a consumer carbon tax ended on Tuesday, not with a bang, but with an air of resignation.
“I support the policy. I thought it was a good policy. I fought for the policy,” said Premier David Eby at a news conference on Monday afternoon, where he talked about the imminent demise of the policy at the hands of his own government.
“Without a doubt, the policy became absolutely toxic with British Columbians.”
In September, he promised to scrap the consumer carbon tax if the federal government waived the requirement.
And on Monday, with that waiver in place,😉 Eby’s government fast-tracked a bill through the legislature to kill it prior to the scheduled April 1 increase.
The immediate effect will be the elimination of 17.61 cents per litre to the price of gas for most motorists.
The usual suspects are not happy:
University of B.C. political science professor Kathryn Harrison said the tax, enacted by the former B.C. Liberal Party in 2008, at a time when the rest of the country was without one, had a positive effect.
“There were, by my count, about 15 studies that found that the consumer carbon price was effective in reducing emissions below what they would otherwise be,” she said. “We would need higher carbon prices to see absolute reductions.”
And what about the portion of the carbon tax returned to many residents via the climate action tax credit, which, for many lower-income citizens, was greater than the cost of the tax itself?🤷🏾♀️
“This is significant for many British Columbians,” admitted Eby. “And that payment will not be happening anymore.”💋
