Well, that IS a beautiful word, HOPE and it has meant a lot to a lot of us, who have hung onto it. I have a headline clipped from our local paper back in 2014 when Dad was stopping to read the paper spread out on the counter and was reading it aloud, “Hang Onto Hope” . . . Mom was making breakfast and twirled around when she realized Dad was reading from the paper, so beautifully and so right away, she clipped out that headline and magnetized it to the refrigerator door. She just loved my stepdad so much and was thrilled that he was reading that, it meant everything to her. She had been told by the neurologist back in the early 2000’s that Dad had dementia, probably Alzheimer’s. She was determined to keep him at home, so he wouldn’t be scared, so she would know he was having good things to eat that he liked. Fortunately, I was able to help her and she was able to keep him at home until the Lord took him on the day after his 98th birthday, just sitting in his recliner between the two of us on a Saturday afternoon.
We celebrate the word “hope” all the time around here – we discovered Padre Pio a few years back and learned about his famous instruction: “Pray, hope and don’t worry.” We love that so much – my brother-in-law painted Padre Pio and made a sort of large prayer card for us, to which he added that instruction and then he framed it, really beautifully. We look at Padre Pio all the time and reflect on moments in our lives where we were pulled through a knothole and Padre Pio must have been there, helping us.
I wonder if the Democrats will try to pass a law that only Democrats can use the word “hope” – I mean, I wouldn’t put it past them!

The Trump administration fired nearly the entire staff of the U.S. Institute of Peace headquarters in Washington, D.C., on Friday, according to multiple reports.
The mass firings, in what anonymous employees characterized as a “Friday night massacre” to the Washington Post, affected somewhere between 200 and 300 employees at the nonprofit organization, all of whom were offered severance packages and one month of health insurance if they waived their right to sue the institute.
All of the terminated employees received notice via email.
“This letter is to inform you of a change in your employment status with United State [sic] Institute of Peace. Effective March 28, 2025, your employment with us will conclude,” the email said, according to the Washington Post.
“Taxpayers don’t want to spend $50 million per year on a publicly-funded ‘research institute’ that has failed to deliver peace. President Trump ended the era of forever wars and established peace in his first term, and he is carrying out his mandate to eliminate bloat and save taxpayer dollars,” Kelly said.

Last night alone, Russia launched 172 strike drones — over 100 of them were Shaheds. These massive drone attacks have now become a near-daily reality. On top of that, there are continued missile threats, including ballistic ones.
Our partners should clearly understand: these strikes are not just attacks on Ukrainian civilians, but also on all international efforts — on the very diplomacy we are trying to use to end this war.
Russia is striking at the positions of everyone who wants to end this war. It is impossible to ignore hundreds of Shaheds every night. We expect a response. We are working toward a response. A strong response is needed — from the U.S., from Europe, from everyone in the world who has placed their bets on diplomacy. Russia must be forced into peace — only pressure will work.
For far too long, the U.S. proposal for an unconditional ceasefire has been on the table — without a proper response from Russia. That says a lot. There could already have been a ceasefire — if there had been real pressure on Russia.

Zelensky has not honored the only ceasefire on the table. Using French intelligence, he has increased the hits on Russian energy infrastructure. And then whines that Russia is hitting military targets including “international efforts”. Were those NATO special forces illegally in Ukraine?
He has refused the mineral deal, saying that US aid was not a loan. That Ukraine owes the US nothing.
Why should the US or Russia expect the whiny Narcofuhrer to honor an unconditional ceasefire?
The U.S. should drone the whiny Narcofuhrer and put an end to his ridiculous dramatics. I understand that he is just a puppet, but it would be a serious message to his handlers that this war is over, Ukraine lost, Russia will dictate terms, and the U.S. gravy train has come to a permanent end.
