There are 20 judges in the DC pool eligible to hear the case [CASE DETAILS HERE] and with a 1:20 chance, Judge James Boasberg was assigned.
American Oversight is a left-wing Lawfare outlet who sue President Trump while sipping coffee daily. This time they are suing the administration to force govt preservation of the Signal app ‘non-classified’ chat messages that have already been published to the public.
The lawsuit issue is made moot by the Atlantic publication of the chat. But I’m sure Boasberg will find a way to affirm the lawsuit and assign attorney fee damages to the Lawfare plaintiff.

Why? Because under the Constitution the judicial branch was supposed to be the weakest branch and the one least capable of causing mischief. The judiciary doesn’t even control its own budget, Congress does. And the judiciary has no power to enforce its own decisions, they must rely on the Executive branch for enforcement. They are not supposed to have any power to involve themselves in matters except “cases and controversies” brought before them.
But then Chief Justice John Marshall invented the whole idea of “Judicial Review” (Marbury v Madison.) The courts stole power they were never authorized to have. They have been encroaching their way into more and more power ever since.
So…this is a continuation of the coup led by the Democrat party. The coup needs to be stopped, and those involved need to be arrested, tried for treason and sentenced appropriately (lead is cheap).

It is truly amazing that if President Trump is any way shape or form involved in a lawsuit, the judge assigned to the case (in a Democrat district which is why they shop them all there) is a Deep State political judge. How many lawsuits have involved President Trump between 2017 and today? How many of the judges assigned to the case have NOT been the most partisan of the partisan judges? My guess is less than 5%.

It was a long time ago, but I think I recall reading that there is one person who assigns cases to judges. It was a woman, and her name was published at that time. The purpose of having her was to assign related cases to the same judge so that new judges wouldn’t have to waste a lot of time starting all over. My impression was that this is why (an excuse) cases aren’t randomly assigned. Does anyone else recall something about that?
If there are pending cases with the same parties, the same judge will hear them, as he knows the history of the case. However, with the United States government, there can be many cases against it that are not related to each other.
If there’s no relation to a pending case, the assignment is supposed to be random.
