I know that some people from the administration read this website, so I am going to put this out there.
The abolishment of the Department of Education is only the first step. To really destroy the woke, you have to hit the university system economically.
The dirty little secret of academia is that the entire higher education complex floats on a sea of ADJUNCT labor. Adjunct are hired guns: part-time, poorly paid, and not really considered part of the university. They can be easily fired (for all kids of reasons) and usually have no job protections. Even in California, where there are unions for professors, the unions will often not step in to protect an adjunct. Adjuncts are “at will” employees who do not actually have to be fired: they just have to be “not rehired” for the next semester. “Sorry, we don’t have a class for you” is perfectly legal. Adjuncts do not even have to be told why they are being “not rehired.”
Adjuncts account for 50-70% of the faculty in many academic departments. English departments (the most woke on campus) cannot survive without adjunct labor. The writing faculty can be 80% adjunct labor or higher. Adjuncts teach many of the lower division courses (to first- and second-year students) that no full-time professor wants to teach. In an era when superstar professors will only teach graduate students (or not at all, if they can help it), the adjunct is hired to staff many of a department’s classes. This means students are paying higher tuitions than ever to be taught by part-timers and not the famous names that draw students to the university.
Here is my suggestion: pass an executive order saying that brick-and-mortar universities must limit their adjunct pool PER DEPARTMENT to no more than 20% of the faculty. Use what is left of Department of Education to police this. Even prestigious universities will be crying “uncle”, especially their more woke departments like English, the arts, and the “studies” courses. If you get rid of the actual people doing the labor, the university will have to play ball. You want them to stop protesting on campus? Hit them in the pocketbook.
And if you want to stop the woke, the labor pool is a great place to start. To keep their jobs, adjuncts will try to be as woke as possible. You’ll rarely have an adjunct buck the woke orthodoxy: they need to pay the rent. Adjuncts often teach at multiple universities to make a living and cannot afford to get a reputation for not toeing the woke party line. Full-time tenured professors have more protections for going against the woke, although they can be harassed out as well, as was Robert Oscar Lopez.

I believe parents should be given an allowance to home school. Keep the kids out of violent and non functioning schools. It will make for a much better family life and eventually country. Also watch wages soar when a parent is taken out of the work force.
I don’t know. Once the government starts giving you money, they get to demand that you follow certain woke laws. Funding ALWAYS comes with strings. That’s why truly independent universities (like a handful of really traditional Catholic ones) take no taxpayer money.

Students have been brainwashed that it’s a good thing to have those ‘star’ professors who don’t actually teach anything, because they “bring in grants”.
It’s more than time these institutions get investigated under RICO statutes.
It’s a classic bait and switch. You send your kid to a university because there is a Pulitzer Prize-winning prof on the faculty, but your kid gets the overworked adjunct who works at three different colleges and has no status in the field. Or your kid gets the 23-year-old graduate assistant who is teaching to pay for tuition.
If universities had to report their faculty assignments every semester and were required to keep adjuncts below 20%, there would be a HUGE outcry. Time to hold their feet to the fire.

Trump does not have six months to sit on this until the new fiscal year and Speaker Johnson has repeatedly lied about “this will be the last CR” so there is no reason to believe any such thing will be forthcoming — not that it matters because if not dealt with now the probability of a market crash into the fall and winter followed by a long economic malaise that will not clear in time for the elections is nearly-certain.
Politically the hit has to be taken right now because the economic impact will be severe and of course the current Administration will be blamed for it — and yes, they’re partly responsible not only for attempting to play games with the current CR but in point of fact Trump was President four years ago too, before Biden — and did nothing to stop it then despite, I remind you, multiple campaign platform planks in 2016 that would have largely done so. But no matter the apportionment of blame across parties and Administrations and sessions of Congress the hit has to be taken now and this foolery must be stopped with finality so that NEVER AGAIN can a federal department find itself collecting only sixteen percent of its spend in taxes and being a full THIRD of every dollar the government spends; there is no way we will get through the next couple of years without this blowing up the economy and the mid-term elections will begin to be contested next spring.
By next summer we have to be on the path of recovery; there is no avoiding the very large economic hit, so the choice is to either do it now — not an empty promise (that will once again prove to be a lie) for the fall but right now — or have it happen into the maw of the election in which case the GOP loses both House and Senate and that is if the bond market allows this “oh we’ll work on it” charade to continue for that long. The Deal seemed odd to me, not only because American Jews were historically a key player in the Democratic Party—providing outsized numbers of voters, party organizers and publicists, in addition to huge tranches of funding for its campaigns—but because the Deal seemed to actively undermine the core assumptions of U.S. security architecture in the Middle East, whose goals were to ensure the steady flow of Middle Eastern oil to global markets while keeping U.S. troops out of the region. A Middle East in which the U.S. actively “balanced” a revisionist anti-American power like Iran against traditional U.S. allies like Saudi Arabia and Israel seemed guaranteed to become a more volatile region that would require exactly the kinds of active U.S. military intervention that Obama claimed to want to avoid. Nor did turning over major shipping lanes to Iran and its network of regional terror armies seem like a recipe for the steady flow of oil to global markets that in turn helped ensure the ability of U.S. trading partners in Europe and Asia to continue to buy U.S.-made goods. Seen through the lens of conventional American geopolitics, the Iran deal made little sense.

These sudden, sometimes overnight, appearances of beliefs, phrases, tics, looked a lot like the mass social contagions of the 1950s—one episode after another of rapid-onset political “enlightenment” replacing the appearance of dance crazes or Hula-Hoops.

What the White House understood, and which I came to understand through my reporting on the Iran deal, was that social media—which was now the larger context in which former prestige “legacy” outlets like The New York Times and NBC News now operated—could now be understood and also made to function as a gigantic automated permission structure machine. Which is to say that, with enough money, operatives could create and operationalize mutually reinforcing networks of activists and experts to validate a messaging arc that would short-circuit traditional methods of validation and analysis, and lead unwary actors and audience members alike to believe that things that had never believed or even heard of before were in fact not only plausible, but already widely accepted within their specific peer groups.

Yet the extent to which reality was being regularly manipulated through the techniques of social psychology applied to the internet was not immediately apparent to outside observers—especially those who wished to see, or had long been conditioned to see, something else. The collapse of the press and the acceptance by flagship outlets of a new role [NOT a “new” role – W] as a megaphone for the Democratic Party meant that there were many fewer actual “outside observers” to blow the whistle. And in any event, Obama was on his way out—and Donald Trump, aka Orange Man Hitler, was on his way in.

Having reported on the Iran deal made it easy to see that Russiagate was a political op, being run according to a similar playbook, by many of the same people. Familiarity with the Iran deal made it easy for reporters at Tablet, particularly Lee Smith, to see Russiagate as a fraud from the beginning, and to see through the methods by which the hallucination was being messaged by the mainstream press.

Messaging around the pandemic was the fourth and most far-reaching permission structure game that was run by small clusters of operatives on the American public, resulting in the revocation of the most basic social rights—like the right to go outside your own home, or visit a dying parent or child in the hospital. COVID also proved to be an excuse for the largest wealth transfer in American history, comprising hundreds of billions of dollars, from the middle and working classes to the top 1%. Most ominously, COVID proved to be a means for remaking the American electoral system, as well as providing a platform for a series of would-be social revolutions in whose favor restrictions on public gatherings and laws against looting and public violence were suspended, due to manifestations of “public opinion” on social media.

As for Barack Obama, I will admit that I wasn’t sure I’d ever see him face the consequences of his own arrogance, obsession with personal power, and efforts at vanquishing the exceptionalism that makes this country different from every other one. But I guess, as a wise man once explained: “Life’s a bitch.”

But that’s what our leftist colleges taught, that degree of expertise created a new “political scientist” , the optimum technocrat administrator, which feeds off of this superiority mindset. And those “politicos” were absorbed into Obama’s administration and became the embeds who turned on Trump.

Our family was swatted Christmas morning. The police were told someone

It was anonymous. I don’t know if they can track/follow up with an anonymous

Tim Pool was swatted at least twice when he was on the air. It got to the point where the local police would call Tim when they got the “reports”. The perpetrator was found and prosecuted.

My sister had her second born during COVID, which had eclampsia complications and required 3 weeks under observation in the hospital under lockdown before delivery. My brother-in-law was the only one allowed to visit, not her son, our parents, his parents. It was a very stressful time.
Everyone turned out well in the end, baby delivered on time and healthy, sis blood pressure returned to normal, etc. but COVID lockdowns had a lasting effect.

I also lost someone very close. I did get to spend his last night with him – he was 19 years old. It was a night of extreme suffering for him and heartbreaking turmoil for me…beyond description.
We were at our city’s large Children’s Hospital – where as occasions arose, they had treated him off and on, since birth. I was a home care nurse for him when he first came home from the hospital at/as a 1 year old. I was with him a few years until his trach was taken out, he could breathe on his own, and was stable enough for parents to do his care.
I still stayed close to his family and him throughout the years, though.
He was a happy soul and had such a heart of sweetness.
His heart, kidneys, and lungs had been and were a main focus of care – all his life, but he wasn’t even sick when they put him in the hospital.
He had a routine (scheduled) Dr checkup visit – so, they did a covid test, said he was positive, and – put him in the hospital.
He did not get sick/sicker, but they (treated him and) gave him Remdesivir – which was of a certainty going to be a death sentence for him.
They got their 30plus-plus pieces of silver. These Drs had treated him there, off and on, his whole 19years – everyone loved him at Children’s.
I can’t forgive them (and I have to forgive MYSELF for not being able to do so) but I’m counting on them roasting forever in the hottest circle of where they’re going when they’re done here on earth.

Further, the ACLU’s “test plaintiff” has no standing because she has no right to be here and generally you cannot, in our legal system which is predicated on common law, bring a civil case where the events leading to your complaint exist as a result of your fraudulent act. But for her illegal presence the events would not exist and her unlawful action in fact created the circumstance under which she now (as the ACLU’s “client”) complains. This demands an immediate dismissal however it is reasonable for the Supremes to take the case anyway because it then sets precedent and puts a stop to this crap on a summary and permanent, absent a further Constitutional Amendment, basis.
I give decent odds the Supreme Court agrees this is entirely within the remit of the 14th Amendment and precedent set by prior Supreme Court decisions since, specifically Wong Kim Ark.
We all know how it should be decided, that it should never have been interpreted otherwise, but with the SC of today, all bets are off as to what they will do. There is no real law that allows anchor babies with non citizen parents to become U.S. citizens at birth. In fact, the 14th states just the opposite.
SCOTUS’ Wong Kim Ark decision seemed to, but in the full content of that column I linked to, the author points out how it did not.
Anyone bringing it to SCOTUS should simply use the reasoning he used in his column.

Yesterday I visited a popular recreational trail with my daughter. She noticed one of the cars in the parking lot adjacent to the trail, and called attention to the gorgeous red color.

One thing that severely damaged some already struggling schools is the Obama/Holder disciplinary ‘guidelines’ policy.
I have heard directly from teachers, even black teachers, how much this has interfered with their ability to keep any kind of order in their classrooms, so that learning can take place for the students who want it.
Since this is something that was done by a president and an AG, it stands to reason that a president along with an AG could fix this RIGHT NOW, if they were made aware of it.
One of my best friends teaches at a city public middle school. What goes on there is beyond outrageous. Kids are allowed to just get up and leave classrooms when they want to. They can sit in the back of the classroom and talk or use their phones which they are supposed to turn in to the teacher at the beginning of class but refuse to. They actively open locked doors to outsiders for purposes of drug dealing etc.
I am not kidding or exaggerating this. The public schools have little discipline or consequences left to the teachers to fall back on to keep order. Teaching the kids who want to learn is difficult, almost impossible, at best. This is just one city in a very blue state and I don’t know if it’s just as bad elsewhere. The restrictions on teachers is beyond ridiculous. Teachers routinely are attacked by the kids and injured, something that the media here suppresses as much as they can. The policies under Biden worsened the public school environment even more. DEI in the schools also has had a huge effect on the learning situations.
The kids are allowed to run the schools in this city basically and are pushed forward in grade level being uneducated for anything in their futures. The minority who manage to get an education are under great stress the whole way through from those outlaw students who are not worried at all about consequences for their behavior since there are none. It’s a really awful situation here and more teachers quit every year. Turning this around is going to be nearly impossible which is why school choice is pretty much the only option for kids who cannot afford to get out of the public education swamp on their own.
I know a mother who wanted to get her son out of the public school for social reasons (exposure to a bad element). She looked into getting him into the local Catholic school, even though she couldn’t really afford it.
They said no, because her son’s grades were only average.
A voucher would not help her.
I know for fact that you are not exaggerating what you state. The media here tries to cover up as well, they don’t want to appear “rayciss”.
Getting the federal government out of our school systems is a good place to start.
From that point, parent involvement in their children’s education is critical for good results.
Sadly, that won’t happen for far too many kids.

In the same month, The Washington Post revealed that Kellogg’s daughter, Meaghan Mobbs – president of the R.T. Weatherman Foundation – has been operating a logistics hub on the Romanian-Ukrainian border to support aid efforts and US mercenaries.

Judges are starting to rule against Trump’s cut-off of appropriated funds.
Note that there are multiple issues — specifically two — at play here:
Fraud vitiates all things. Spending against an expired program is fraudulent, as is diversion outside of the terms of the appropriation by Congress no matter how it is done. So, for example, if you have an appropriation for “Aid to Uganda for food assistance” and it is turned into a DIE-fest or one to promote “Queerness” or whatever that is fraud and not only can that money be withheld there is an actual obligation to withhold it and, to the extent it was misused in that fashion claw it back punitively from the various agencies and NGOs where it was sent and criminally prosecute those who diverted it and profited from said diversion.However, after Nixon used impoundment to not spend appropriated funds that was removed from Presidential prerogative in 1974 by explicitlaw. Is that act Constitutional? Well it would certainly appear to be given that all spending bills must originate in the House per the Constitution so provided the spending occurs exactly as Congress directs, and in no other way, it would appear that there is no authority for the Executive to refuse. But is there? For example, can Congress appropriate $1 million for 1,000 hammers, with each “expected” to cost $1,000 — and thus compel the Executive to use a vendor that charges that much if there is another vendor that will sell equivalent-quality hammers for $20? This is a question that, thus far, appears to be one of first impression and thus if the Executive does that I’d argue forcing them to overpay is equivalent to demanding forced theft from the taxpayer and we’re back to fraud which, again, vitiates all things.What this means, however, is that Congress (all 535 of them) and all their family members, especially considering how many of them have “side gigs” collecting these funds through NGO channels which explicitly violate the letter of the appropriation and do so with full knowledge and intent need to be held to account, both from a criminal perspective when family members are involved under the first bullet point and if the overspending does not immediately stop as pertains to the deficit then when civilization comes apart they must ALL be eaten FIRST.
