Publishing a short video to her X account, Dept of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem shared that two of the DHS leakers who were giving operational information in advance of immigration enforcement actions have been identified.
Secretary Noem notes the inside threats have been identified and will be prosecuted for putting ICE and Customs and Border officers at risk.
VIA CBS – The Department of Homeland Security is administering polygraph tests to its personnel to determine who may be leaking information to the media about its ongoing immigration raids, an agency spokesperson confirmed to CBS News Saturday.
On Feb. 18, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said DHS would start polygraphing employees in order to crack down on these leaks.
In a video posted to social media Friday, Noem wrote that the department had “identified two leakers of information here at the Department of Homeland Security who have been telling individuals about our operations and putting law enforcement lives in jeopardy. We plan to prosecute these two individuals and hold them accountable for what they’ve done.”
The polygraph tests have been taking place for about three weeks, the DHS spokesperson told CBS News. It’s unclear how many employees have undergone them.

I am surprised, however, that the President and his advisors haven’t started by creating a task force composed of lawyers with experience at the DoJ, a few cybersecurity experts, and U.S. Marshals to begin securing evidence, seizing files, and collecting communications at Main Justice, the FBI, and SDNY. Since this is an executive action, no warrants are required. No judge could stop them from executing those ‘raids.’ This would have prevented the destruction of evidence, and if anyone interfered, they could be charged with obstruction. It would be perfectly legal within the President’s purview.
Or does President Trump still believe in government after all they did to him? Does anyone believe that these criminals at the DoJ, FBI, or any other national security or law enforcement agency won’t destroy evidence, engage in tampering, or break any laws to protect their cause and themselves?

And just to be clear, I am not saying that stripping private law firms like Perkins Coie and Covington & Burling of security clearances or direct access to the NSA/FBI databases was meaningless or unnecessary, but, again—these are merely temporary measures. None of the lawyers was disbarred or prosecuted.
Remember how Special Counsel Durham investigated and indicted people outside the wire while conveniently ignoring both obvious malfeasance and criminality inside the FBI and DoJ? I question the validity of this and have doubts they have caught any leakers. I think it is likely that they are making these statements as a deterrent.
For starters, I believe that lie detector tests are inadmissible in court. So unless they have been wiretapping these suspects, they won’t have any prosecutorial evidence without an admission.
Also, I think it is more likely that it is just one individual that is leaking this information. I think suspicious cat should be on alert.
The results of a polygraph examination are not admissible as evidence in a criminal trial. It is an investigative tool used to extract a confession from a suspect.
It’s also an administrative tool. To begin with, if you can’t sit for a polygraph then no need to apply. And then, if you fail your polygraph, your security clearance is suspended and you are placed on suspension. And then random polygraphs are required during your employment, just like tests for drugs (if they even do that anymore). This tool/technique has many worthwhile applications.
Lie detector tests are not admissible in court. What is the purpose? Either you have the evidence or you don’t. If you do indict.
They are probably trying to remove them first, then investigate.
You need to start somewhere. You cannot just investigate every single person working at the agency without cause. The polygraph may be used both as a pretext and a deterrent.
