President Trump accomplishes a peace treaty and in return Ukraine pays a small amount of its national reservoir of rare minerals (lithium, titanium, platinum, cobalt, rhodium, iridium, palladium…not necessarily in that order of priority). Hence, Russian and Ukraine cease combat and begin demobilization. War ends. Exactly why would there be a need for US troops in Ukraine?

I am sure those terms negotiated allow for Russia the access to Crimea for deep waters ports (oil and gas distribution…large vessels need deep draft and access to sea routes to all major economic ports)…and in addition I am sure that Russia reserves the option to negotiate directly with Ukraine and European nations to transport oil through pipelines across Ukraine as a chief supplier. All of these things benefit Ukraine. It provides the revenue stream to not only rebuild but also to have some political power across Europe, Russia and yes even the US. Power respects power.

Z seems to think there is a military treaty requiring the U.S. to give him everything he is demanding. There isn’t and never has been. If the U.S. has any obligation to militarily help Ukraine in any way, it is only under the hoary old theory that the U.S. must act as the Global Policeman, which is and always has been a steaming load of rubbish (to put it mildly).

The only treaty the U.S. has with Ukraine, other than both countries being members of the usual international ones which in any case don’t require the U.S. to do as Z demands, is a seldom-referred to treaty called the “Treaty Between the United States of America and Ukraine on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters”, which was signed in 1998 and ratified by the Senate the following year. The U.S. has similar treaties with many other countries.  

The interesting thing about this particular treaty is that it arguably covers the famous July 25, 2019, phone conversation in which PDJT repeatedly pressed Z to investigate matters relating to Hunter Biden. Remember that was the predicate the Democrats used for launching their first impeachment attempt. But if you look at it, his request for the Ukrainians to investigate Hunter was just exactly the kind of mutual legal assistance covered by that treaty. I think no one can deny PDJT got horrible advice and support from DOJ, the State Dept, and just about everyone else in the Executive Branch during his first term. If he had been getting good advice, he would have been told to follow up his verbal request in writing within five days, as required by the treaty. If that had been done, or if he had even been told about that treaty, then it might have prevented the first impeachment attempt. It is one of many reasons for PDJT to thoroughly clean house in his second term.  

It has been observed that the US is ready to withdraw support from Ukraine’s war without being blamed for that, so:
