Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough.
They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it.
You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.

Usually, the city takes a look at what you want to do and can OK certain things. In some states, anyway.

If the apartment buildings allow for a dramatic increase in taxes charged for the land, then of course the buildings will be permitted. And for every dollar of increased revenue collected, the municipality can now spend five dollars on public services like more police, more fire apparatus, more school buildings (probably built next door on the neighbors land that was denied those three little houses)

Where I came from property taxes are based on what you paid for your house. Where I live now they are based on “market value.” That’s some “swag method”* number they pull out of the air. And, since property values around here have significantly increased recently, you can imagine what a windfall that is for local government.
*For you non-accountants, swag is an acronym for “scientific wild-ass guess.”
As a civil engineer who frequently deals with floodplains, she has not been properly educated about the 100-year frequency flood event.
The 100-year floodplain is based upon the “chance of exceedance”. In other words, there is a 1% chance that a 100-year flood event could occur at anytime during a year.
If she’s in the county, she needs to stay out of the floodplain with her buildings, just as a matter of prudence and personal safety for her family.
Oftentimes the FEMA maps that the counties use show unstudied Zone-A flood zones that are overly conservative. She could hire an engineer to perform a detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis. Most often the study will shrink that flood zone. The county floodplain administrator (FPA)would then approve her home site.
The county FPA did not do a good job of telling her why she could not build next to a creek.
There are several ways she could do so, the FPA evidently did not adequately convey that information.

I fear now that the Neocons control Europe and the European press, they will start this war and then try to invoke Article 5 to force Trump in, but if he stands his ground, I will not put it beyond them to try to assassinate Trump and even Vance to fulfill their dream of World War III.
I tend to think that President Trump will withdraw the US from NATO should they try the Article 5 route. President Trump can correctly claim that Europe’s unwillingness to shoulder their share of the cost of operations has invalidated that agreement.
That’s why they’re sending Starmer and Macron so suddenly – the last appeal to be Europe’s Bully Protector once more. President Trump will politely decline the offer.
Who knows? We might well be pulled out of NATO by this time next week, as fast as things are being accomplished in real time these days.
As for the assassination ploy…They’ve already tried to assassinate PTrump – twice now – during the campaign. I think these attempts only filled him with even more determination and resolve against Deep State.
What is more, I think these attempts on Donald Trump’s life opened JD Vance’s eyes as well. It’s not just a game of differences of political opinion – it’s a real war, with one side trying to trigger a nuclear WWIII to cover their evil, and are willing to commit murder to do it.

Someone I know who works for USPS, around the time of the Obama administration was wondering where all the new people were coming from, they were closing post offices but still doing a lot of hiring. Maybe it was replacement for retiring workers, but the newcomers had nasty attitudes and would become indignant if anyone told them what to do.
I now understand about DEI, but wherever there was a large black population they were always well- if not overrepresented in post office hiring, so why was it necessary to have more women with headscarves when USPS had never exclused any kind of minority, and when they were shutting down post offices?
I think it had something to do with prepping for the mail-in elections.
BTW their isn’t as much of a drop in “mail” as it looks, because we don’t have just UPS but Amazon etc. competing.
