As soon as the technical capability to have it all became available, everyone started grabbing your data. Realistically all that can be done is to manage your privacy yourself as best you can to the extent you think is worth the effort.

The shear size of “all keystrokes” from every possible address prevents storing of all of it every minute, every day, every year into infinity. You can capture some, you can store some but you will never get or keep it all.
No, I’m not. Spell checking in the browser is a different animal that Google suggesting the words you may want to type or the grammar you may want to change. Facebook Messenger is another a classic where you can actually see the effects in your add suggestions.
Storage is essentially infinite these days and it’s more work to get rid of something than to keep it forever. I assure you they are capturing, analyzing and storing your keystrokes.
Essentially infinite is not possible. If you had been able to capture all the “data” that ever existed and stored it. Guess what. You are no closer to infinity.

The place I work at had our personnel records hacked. Address, SSN, number of dependents, phone number, date of birth, emergency number to call, job title, education, salary and starting date. We have a good and competent IT guy now that’s very security oriented, but my information has already been stolen and its now up to me to keep track of, monitor and try to prevent my ID from being abused.

It’s easy. If you can type a comment here, you can freeze your credit. You just have to keep the PIN numbers they give you in a safe place.

Now if you’re prone to making spontaneous purchases requiring credit this could be an impediment — in which case perhaps reconsider making spontaneous purchases requiring new credit. I know, crazy mouse!

Exactly. I have informed all of the people I know. Lock access to your credit reports and that stops the thieves. It’s free for a year, then renew it again. Set a reminder annually to keep it frozen.
I didn’t have to do that when I did it. There was no payment and no need to renew. They send you PIN numbers, and if you want to unfreeze temporarily, you go to each of the three sites and enter their particular PIN number, and they give you an option for how long you want to keep it unfrozen, and at the end of that time it freezes again automatically, until next time, when you’ll repeat the process.
Yes; I did that this morning before work in about 25 minutes (including a fraud alert since I seem to also be a Latina woman in California . . .). It was very easy. One phone call (the AI on phone calls is getting pretty amazing) and 2 websites.

Our info has been exposed so many times, we have a freeze on our credit. We have only had to lift it once for a HELOC in about ten years. It might not be watertight but I am sure it helps with fraud.

We already were in a home with mortgage when we froze it, had multiple credit cards established and a goal to reduce debt so we didn’t want new car loans. It worked well for us.

I think there’s a disconnect here. Generally, single service members who live in the barracks don’t get BAS, since they eat for free in the mess hall.
Service members with families who live in base housing or off base do get BAS and pay for meals in the mess hall.

The $460mo is only for the service members and not meant to feed a family. So without more info I’m at a loss.

Fishback has a point. Let’s say Musk finds 10 percent in savings across the federal government. If federal spending is cut that much, it could tip the economy into recession. So some way probably needs to be found to replace the fiscal stimulus of all the waste and fraud. Ergo, rebate or refund checks to the hardworking taxpayers. The idea is worth pondering.

Dumping that much money into the economy all at once? Not sure about that if we’re concerned about inflation and the value of our dollar. Want to give Americans a break? I also am not sure that Musks idea is the best plan.
But I do want to comment that I don’t believe that inflation is currently on the demand side — it’s on the supply side and mainly due to the cost of energy. This is why raising interest rates has not fixed it. The fed only has a hammer so every problem looks like a nail.

This in turn means that “settlement” is going to involve demilitarization of enough of a radius to reasonably prevent that and that inherently is going to mean the Eastern provinces will not be permitted to have anyone’s military crap or personnel anywhere on it (including Ukraine’s), period.
It also means no NATO anything and of course no nukes either. NATO membership was never on the table legitimately as we and others promised Russia many times we’d not expand NATO Eastward and then violated that pledge sequentially. If the rest of Europe wishes to pursue this then the US should withdraw from NATO entirely and let them have their nice little war (which will come) on their own; we should make clear that anyone who fires on a United States asset will have their capital city nuked and all their leaders and government officials assassinated but other than that — you guys want to blow **** up have at it — we’ll watch from across the pond and be happy to be the only western economic power left with our infrastructure intact when you destroy all of yours by being stupid.

NGOs are funded by private donations, corporate donations and government grants. Government grants went up substantially in 2023.
Let’s say a NGO gets four billion from the government for “election security.” First there is no requirement for the NGO to spend the money. There are no guidelines on how to spend the money and nobody ever looks to see what happened to the money. If the board takes a trip to Tahiti to see if the vote on the best bikini on the beach was conducted fairly, that would be a great expenditure for the money. If they gave it to someone to assure the right people turn out to vote in the swing states, that would also be a great expenditure for election security. If they give the money to another organization who gives it to another organization who gives it directly to a candidate’s campaign, that would be fine to. Or they could put the money in the bank drawing interest and just pay the right people to manage it. If you were given millions with no restrictions, let your imagination roam.

In a short article last week reporting that “Flu Cases Are Surging,” Times write Dani Blum expressed bafflement over the reasons for this season’s epidemic. “It’s not entirely clear why the current flu season has been so severe,” she wrote, before speculating that lower vaccine coverage might be the reason.
Beyond the fact the flu shot is provably useless, this theory has a minor flaw. The Centers for Disease Control reports exactly the same percentage of American adults received flu shots this winter as in the 2023-2024 season. And I mean exactly:
“As of February 1, 2025, 45.0%… of adults received a flu vaccination, similar to last season at this same time point (45.0%).”
So a lack of flu vaccines isn’t the problem. What else could be?

Just because those funds payout does not mean they have to the funds available to cover the outlays … the expenditures just gets added onto the Federal Debt and Deficit Spending. Both the JOINT Social Security and Medicare Funds are now counted as part of the FEDERAL General Fund … so any statements about their solvency is BS.

Emergency room visits for flu-like symptoms are the highest in a generation. Over 50,000 Americans were hospitalized in the week ended Feb. 8, the newest available data. For the first time since Covid began, flu is killing more people than Sars-Cov-2.
Yet even as the media hypes the risk of a nonexistent bird-flu epidemic in humans, it is largely ignoring the actual flu crisis.
One likely reason: even the dumbest reporters would rather not remind people of their 2020 panic. They know they’ll be tarred and feathered if they call for school closures or lockdowns. All we can do is ride out the season, so best to say as little as possible.

SUNLIGHT. Ideally, yes, no more omnibus bills. But EVERY Bill needs this kind of sunlight. And when Trump’s time expires and a Trump approved replacement is eventually not in office, the people will MISS this transparency like at no other time.
The people need to be trained to EXPECT exceptional transparency.
DOGE team reviews all 2000+ pages of omnibus spending
NO OMNIBUS BILL.
Conduct a reconciliation ONLY and close out ALL lines recommended for closure by the DOGE report. Shift funding authorization for the closed lines to those opened under reconciliation. It will be painful because that means RECONCILING ALL the Omnibus BILLS passed, possibly since 2009. It is the only way and would be max sunlight as well on the graft, fraud and waste.
Anything done has to be a net ZERO legislation … between closed and new. Also, the reconciliation has to include agreement to a FY2026 Budget being negotiated under regular order.
The President also needs to submit the FY2026 Budget Proposal with ALL new budget lines and leaving out ALL the “old budget lines” recommended for closure by DOGE.
Publish both the Reconciliation Budget Bill as well as FY2026 Proposal to the PUBLIC…as well as republish both each step of the way through negotiations.
Any other method just creates NEW Budget Lines and increases the spending to be covered by the CR and debt ceiling crisis in October 2025.
Having DOGE support a regular Order Budget Process is a great idea as are the other suggestions.
Demanding EVERYTHING is a good start to negotiating but we know how things can be expected to go. And THIS is how the Executive Branch can deal with it.

The only way to get clean government is to quit doing the very things which enable dirty government.
