While I heard Vance say the divergence between America and Europe on the issue of free speech and censorship was a major concern, I didn’t hear anything that suggested we are done with it.

A Delta Airlines flight flips upside down upon landing at Toronto International Airport. Thankfully all survived. Listening to talking heads on the news, some want to blame the Trump administration and the FAA. This plane landed in Canada. Is the USA responsible for the airport operations in Canada?

Obviously, the airplane suffered a critical mechanical failure, and it was the skill and training of the pilot – as well as God’s own hand – which allowed the plane to land, then prevented the landing from turning into a tragedy. Emergency crews on the ground responded instantaneously, as they were also well-trained to do.
There is a landing video of that crash taken from another plane sitting on the runway.
It looks like the landing gear caught some snow or ice, and just tore off the plane. Then it began rotating, snapping its wings off as it slid down the runway.
I’m not sure there was anything the flight crew could have done to prevent it, or to mitigate the injuries once it happened. They had no control at that point.

Microbursts are specific to thunderstorms only and create windshear (sudden shifts in wind speed and direction) as well as severe downdrafts.

First time I have seen this video. It seems like the right side landing gear failed/collapsed/struck something and the right wing dug into the runway.
I posted above that a former pilot said the plane was descending far faster than it should have been. This looks like major pilot error.
Some have noted the gear collapsed, which it absolutely did, but the plane rebounded upon touchdown beforehand. That points to the gear collapsing because the landing was so hard, not because of any mechanical defect beforehand.

Airline crews are trained to GO AROUND if key parameters (speed, descent rate, glide path, alignment, etc) exceed tight tolerances on final approach.
Were any of these parameters (descent rate, glide path) outside of tolerances on short final?
First viewing of the video I saw that the nose didn’t lift before touchdown, seemed to come in flat. The article you linked essentially says that and more. I wonder if the runway had enough snow so that it confused depth perception for the pilot? Possibly the pilot thought they were a bit above where they were?

There would not have been any chunks of anything for them to hit if they landed in the touchdown zone.

It looks increasingly like all that confidence about “sustainable progress” on price inflation back in September—in the heat of election season, of course—was just one of the Fed’s many bogus, politically motivated forecasts.
Even if the Fed truly is motivated by the official data, though, it’s clear that the Fed now has good reason to downplay talk of declaring victory on the Fed’s two-percent inflation goal.
Thanks to the Fed’s unrestrained embrace of monetary inflation from 2020 to 2022, American consumers are still facing the grim reality of rising prices on basic necessities. All federal government financial transactions are classified by TAS for reporting to the Treasury and OMB.
In a Monday post on X, formerly Twitter, DOGE said that within the federal government, the TAS field was optional for about $4.7 trillion in payments and was “often left blank, making traceability almost impossible.”

Smugglers operate from Montreal, Brampton, and Surrey, transporting migrants to New York or Washington, per TikTok accounts reviewed by The Post. A brilliant documentary called “The Call is Coming From Inside the House; The Great Awokening” was posted on YouTube on January 16th 2022. Within a few days, it accrued thousands of views. One shows a smiling young woman posing topless with her surgeon to show off her mastectomy result – multiple self harm scars are clearly visible on her arms and abdomen. The other is a short video of a young woman, also topless with fresh mastectomy scars and missing nipples, explaining in an agitated manner how she is getting “phantom nipple pain” and pleading with whoever has “gotten hold of my nipples and is pinching them to stop the “sick game”. There are no words to describe a society which allows healthy body parts to be removed from young people who are clearly in such severe mental distress.

I don’t want to throw a wet blanket over all the calls for prosecutions and trials for ANY illegal activities related to the USAID activities in particular, but I have exposure to forensic accounting and treasury operations and it will be very difficult to prove crimes actually were committed. Why?
In order to “launder” money, the original source of the money needs to be derived from illegal activity. It needs to be “dirty” money. Think the mob running gambling operations and then running the cash through restaurants or other legitimate business to “clean” the ill-gotten gains. The source of USAID money was not illegal. NGO’s applied for grants and were given money legally.
Most of those grants failed to have any “performance” requirements related to them. This is a feature not a flaw. They did not say that with this $3MM we will serve 10,000 meals to starving children. As such, nothing in the grant required the recipient to dedicate X% to actually doing what they said they would do. There is nothing illegal about 80% overhead and paying board members $500K each. There is nothing illegal about using the money to make further grants to other NGO’s. There is nothing illegal about using the grant to pay a $100K speaking fees to congress critters.
Provided the actors reported any income to the IRS, then what can be the possible crime? We know they report their net worth which is how we are all appalled that Congress critters are all worth millions despite the Fed salary. So, I am at a loss for what the actual criminal charge will be.
Grifting? Yes. Appalling? Yes! Revealing? Yes. Embarrassing? They have no shame. Illegal? I am not so sure.
Cutting off the funds will starve the beast and is likely the best first step. (Note: I am not referring to the Soc Sec reveal which clearly is fraudulent if people were using fake Soc Sec numbers or not reporting deaths, etc). Would appreciate any Treeper lawyers to chime in here.

Misappropriation of funds?
My thots ( not an atty but LEO background ), the criminal aspect is not primarily money laundering, but more that of treason, sedition, conspiracy and fraud. – No more bankruptcy exemption. Force lenders to underwrite both students and programs or run the risk of a bankruptcy filing after graduation that causes the lender to eat the balance.
– Ban co-signers on such loans as void due to public policy. No, Mom and/or Dad do not get stuck if you can’t pay post-graduation.
The amount charged for a perceived as needed “product” or “service,” in this case a so-called “education,” will rise to the cost the customers can bear. Imagine that, otherwise known as “basic economics.”

We have not been hearing very much about the three vacancies in the US House, 1st and 6th in Florida, and Elise Stefanik’s seat in New York. We have to win those seats.
